A huge thank you for this, me and my elderly mother have just had a new gas connection put on. A Worcester 15ri fitted with one of these thermostats and a st94004 programmer. Your clear simple instruction is just what we needed , a big thank you again. Have a great day 😀
If you just want a simple thermostat to use to turn heating on an off I think the T3 / T3R is a bit overkill and complicated for most folks. A simple dial / circular bi-metallic strip thermometer would be cheaper and more reliable needing no batteries either ;-)
When all said and done who ever uses the progs in a thermostat not many its a well complicated bit of kit specially for us older folk but thank I sorted by factory reset thanks to your other video cheers and well done..
Thanks Mark, this for me was the best video, as by the time I got to these bits in the other long video (which I ran through several times) I was suffering information overload. So thanks for this duffers guide!
Great video. Our old Honeywell you could just press a button (when heating was off) to add and hour or two of heatkng being on. I assume you can no longer do that? Its not great that you need to remember to turn the temp down to turn it off. So much eaiser to add an hour and forget about it like on the old one.
Just had this thermostat installed. We have it free standing so my mother can have it by her living room chair. One thing I’ve noticed when working through the manual to set it up for auto is that the room temperature indicator rises due to heat from your hands when you’re holding it. It was registering 27 degrees when the thermometer on the wall was indicating the room was only at 21 degrees. It takes ages to settle too once you set the thermostat back down on a table.
@@taair6270 That’s interesting to know! Obvious, so obvious it hadn’t occurred to me! Doh! So if it drops the signal from the router or the internet connection to the house goes then no heating unless I assume you go switch it on manually, which my mother can’t do. Thanks for tipping me off on that.
@@Chanson_Dada hi yea annoying also the radiators upstairs don’t seem to get as warm as downstairs ones despite being set on full just had a new boiler fitted and they said the radiators had been flushed out prior to installation not sure if they bleed or not could this cause the issue?
@@taair6270 I’m no expert but trapped air is a common cause if some radiators aren’t heating up as much as others. It would do know harm to follow the procedure for bleeding those radiators to see if it corrects the issue.
Hello, very helpful video, if my thermostat on the bottom is heating the top part of the house and the top thermostat is heating the downstairs of the house what is wrong please or how do I correct this? Many thanks :)
Hi Mark 😊 thanks very much for this video, these new thermostat arn't easy to use for elderly people, so this tip makes it easy to get some heating on quickly. I guess it's old dogs and new tricks, lol. Cheers mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
I know you asked this months ago, and I assume you have figured it out by now. If not the water temperature is reduced on the boiler and not on the thermostat.
hi Mark great videos on the T3R i have a problem my unit has stopped displaying the flame icon when heating is switched on the unit connects to my boiler and the heating comes on but for some reason it is not displaying the flame icon to tell me its switched on any help on this would be appreciated thanks.
Good simple instructions but my heating is still not coming on. I've noticed I don't get the flame symbol. How do I fix this? I have hot water though. Thank you.
Good video Mark , thank you for your help , I had the pleasure of working on some extremely hi tech properties in London and at the end of the day the clients , after doing their stuff all day just wanted a light they could switch on , a shower you just switched on , and a cooker that just turned on , and heating with a switch and not a mind game with gizmos every evening 👍
Hi Mark, my carer is trying to sort mine for me. The timer function asks for 4 settings but we only want 2 as I'm at home all day every day. We tried setting programs 2&3 to go off and one at 1pm, but that confused it and it stayed on all night. We've now tried setting it to go off at 1pm, then come back on ten mins later, but surely there's a better way around this? I don't really want to waste energy setting it to go off then on unnecessarily. I'd be grateful for your advice please! Many thanks!
Is there anyway in manual mode to put the heating on for just one hour or so ? So I don’t have to manually turn it off ? I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
Hi Mark, we are having so much trouble to get this set-up and in use. We had this put in 24hrs ago but my mum is asking for a turn-on, turn-off mode. We have tried manual and auto but nohing happens to the radiators. It says room temp is 27 degrees on the display. Is this the reason we cant put the heating on?
no its not. you can only programm desired temperature at particular time 6 time zone a day, which is not practicable at all. I would prefer just on and off functions
You room is not getting hot not because the thermostat is not high enough, it will be because there is not enough heat coming into the room! Check you radiators are hot all over make sure both valves are open, if you have a thermostatic radiaror valve make sure its working and open, check this video. th-cam.com/video/GhWp2ef_2pY/w-d-xo.html make sure your boiler temperature is set high enough this can make a massive difference. Hope that helps.
Hi Mark.have a question please. I’ve noticed that some radiators in my house.have thermostatic valves.on the right side. and on the left side.? is that normal. Thanks hope you get this comment.👍🏻
Hi, our mobile Thermostat was dropped and it is not communicating with the main Honeywell wall mounted control anymore, i've reset it etc, still nothing. Can we just buy a new Honeywell Thermostat and will it recognise the current wall mounted one? Or do we need to replace the whole system?
I don't have recover for. my termostat my elctrition fitted for me my boiler is brand new is it possible my elctrition conected to boiler with wire thanks for help
Won’t work on a heat pump because it takes at least 1 hr to go Luke warm.I have a Grant Aerona3 controller has no Set Back on it if you can recommend one that would be great.
I know this us an old ish video now, but in manual mode, the room gets to the set temperature but then doesnt switch off when at the set temp. Is this supposed to happen? Seems a bit pointless to have any type of thermostat and set a desired temperature if the thermostat doesnt turn the heating off when seid temperature is reached
my display is exactly as in this video but when i manually turn it up the flame comes on but the boiler doesn't kick in to warm the radiators, any ideas? Green light on sensor/receiver ok and thermostat is connected ok. thx
I have watched many videos but this by far the most simple and easy way to understand, finally I know how to simply switch on and off my heating

I’ve noticed that too. also if you take the unit upstairs it looses WiFi connection and the heating doesn’t come on.

It's a shame you can't just press 1 button and boost for 1 hour that's what I miss from out old thermostat.

Is it possible to link it with mobile?
When i set the temperature above room temperature, the flame sign not coming on T3 thermostat, but boiler works, any reason

Gi mark,my honeywellHome thermostat is not like the one u are sowing, icant set it to get heat to blow,it stays on72 and I stay cold, can u help?
How do I get hot water on?
Open the tap
I have changed batteries but cant dind connection between remote and boiler. What can i do?
Our t3r over reads even after ofsetting the temp it reads 14c with no heating at all.
my problem with this is that the temperature is already reached but the thermostat still sends the signal to heat
I've tried everything still doesn't work. I need help please. Thanks
I sorted it out. It was off on the boiler.
Tried this with my Viessman 100 boiler but doesn't work. Showing paired with the system but no joy.
I just moved in & I don’t know nothing about this.. How do I turn the air off?
Hi , I am doing all of these but nothing happens 🙄
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why has my t3r got 6 programs not 4
Is there a way to just set it for 40 minutes and then switch off?
If you pull the flap down its just 1 press for on and 1 press for off. Why press several times, I think that's a stupid way, and incorrect.
I did this but the flame hasn’t come on, what can I do to make the flame come on?
Thanks very much that was a great help 👍
