    Anyone who talks smack about the laugh scene either never played this game, or doesn't know stellar writing and acting when they hit 'em square in the face.
    That scene is a treasure, genuinely so, in a _fully_ unironic way. It's fantastic.

      Exactly, it seems like it was written too well for most folks. They react to it exactly how the party does and forget the party did.

      Context: they are both depressed, so they have to fake a laugh, because is their duty to look optimistic; neither of them know the other one is carrying a great burden (Tidus: just discovered his father is a genocide beast that has been terrorizing this world for centuries and it's up to that same father If he'll ever go back home. Yuna: is in a self imposed suicide mission to achieve a short peace for her world).

    Tidus' hyperactive movements when he's ranting at Auron, and then he learns Haste. I like to imagine he just unlocked Haste out of sheer rage at Auron.

      i found it a little strange they never went that into auron having been tidus's only parent for half his life. we never know, did auron actually raise him in the same home? did he just... drop in? with the casual way he's introduced, it really does seem like it could be either.

      sonozaki there’s that flashback cutscene where auron tells him that his blitz ball team lost because of him and he just casually walks into tidus’s house so I guess it’s presumable they lived together? there’s also that other flashback of auron saying he wouldn’t know what to do if tidus’s mother dies (I guess it was him worrying about how to raise Tidus)

      @@eepysneepy growing up, the scene with auron in tidus's living space always seemed like he had come to talk, because why wouldn't he be allowed to if they're close? but that's exactly what i'm referring to, the fact that so much relies on inference. it's an interesting dynamic, but i guess it does make sense. being a parent was sprung on him & he doesn't seem the type to want to be one otherwise, so he wouldn't have a normal parenting style.

    9:43 Wild Tidus attacks! Auron uses Harden! It's super effective! XD Also holy crap was that Auron laughing? Damn, never thought I'd hear him laugh. That's adorable. I also love how he grabs him by the arm and volunteers Tidus at 15:37 too, haha, that's such a dad thing to do.

    Final fantasy X learned me dedication and perseverance.
    First game for the ps2 I ever had as a kid, and it took me a few years, but I eventually got the the point where I was nearly strong enough to start taking on the Dark Aeons while having uncovered many of the game's secrets.
    Lost my save files due to a power out while I was saving.
    I was devastated, but after a few days I restarted and worked my way back to the top, training long hours in Omega Ruins to get back up to level to try and face the Dark Aeons.
    Two years later, freaking power outage again while I was saving, No problem right? Had a second save on the same card just in case.
    Expect it was corrupted/gone too along with all other game saves.
    I literally cried there as that was years effort down the drain.
    to boot, my CD was seemingly too damaged/scratched to run at this point.
    I was forced to give up, until years later in my late teens I got my hands on another disc.
    Armed with more gaming experience and a better understanding of the English language I decided...
    To boot it up in an emulator on my pc, slap a cheat program on it and just max level out at the start of the game, blaze through the entire story at top speed and erased the Dark Aeons from existence with skills my characters should not even have.
    That day I learned hard work, dedication and perseverance, is never rewarded and you should just take the easy, more logical route.

    I've always wondered if fighting underwater (with sword) like Tidus is possible. At least for a short time, right?

    • @Brandon_519
      @Brandon_519 7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      You would have to be insanely strong. The water would create so much resistance that swinging a sword would be pretty much impossible. Spears were used instead of blades for hunting in water because of this.

    I still want to know why he uses his coat as a sling for one of his arms if its not broken. Maybe its hard for him to leave it normally due to the wound Yunalesca influenced on him. It was pretty nasty tumble to his neck and entire right side

    • @Gameshunter92
      @Gameshunter92 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don't think an unsent has to worry about broken bones. The pose goes more into the "rule of cool". You can see in some characters in media using their coat as a sling, I have it most seen with Samurais, which he is one.

    • @dazediss6629
      @dazediss6629 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      In Ronin myth a samurai would sling one arm and hide it away to show dishonour or shame. My theory is that he slings his arm as he’s ashamed of his past by letting Jecht & Braska die. I think by the time he goes back to face Yunalesca he already knows she will kill him, but he feels his fate should be the same as his fallen friends. I think this is pretty much canon due to him not slinging his arm during all the spheres which the player watches of Braska’s pilgrimage - Auron is never depicted to sling his arm during that pilgrimage. He only slings it after sacrificing himself to Yunalesca.
      Which also adds to the fact that whenever he removes his arm from the sling then you know he’s about to kick some serious ass.

    • @sonozaki0000
      @sonozaki0000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@dazediss6629 It's really not even a theory, much of his visual design is rooted in samurai and specifically ronin design. For any who don't know, a ronin is a wandering samurai with no allegiance due to the death/usurpation of their master. Braska was the master and Auron perceives his death as his failure, so he slings his arm to properly and silently show his shame. He only removes the sling when he's taking an action that can be seen as honoring his master or righting the wrong of their death (assisting his master's child in her mission).
