Meltdown is my #1 top of the instrumental mountain of awesomeness cd. I have been listening to it since it came out and may be still when Im in my 80s. A perfect cd.
I remember the pepsi commercial, FROM WHEN IT WAS ON TV! :) Was a fan in the 80s of vinnie and several of the "neo-classical" shredders, but became a hardcore fan of specifically vinnie when I got Time Oddyssey and heard his cover of "While my Guitar Gently Weeps". The phrasing in that song for the "vocals" hooked me. Then he went on to show all sorts of wonderful influences in blues, jazz, funk, etc... And has never stopped evolving it seems like. Only managed to see him live once with Michael Schenker at House of Blues in Chicago, but was blown away. Love that I can see these videos now... Rock on, Vinman!
Vinman...don't know if you'll see this but you're one of my shred heroes from the Shrapnel days. I bought Meltdown in the early 90's and found the tab book a couple of years later. That was my bible, along your instructional vids. I finally got to see you live about a year and half ago in Portland with Richie and Gus! Thanks for melting my face off, I will die a happy man! Just wanted to say thanks for your great music, lessons and inspiration. IMO you are one of the greats! Keep on rocking brother🤘
