@@kmanick107 I can confirm that. I had the incredible pleasure to met him during a clinic in Rome, in the 96 if I recall correctly. He has been nothing short than lovely with his fan. A very polite gentleman and one of the finest guitarists that the 20th century gave us.
I don't have time to write up the long story but I was at an unusual gig in Santa Barbara where there was only 24 fans in attendance. It was like a private show so we loved it. But the story involves how Moore told some bullies from Hollywood to stop messing with me and my friend from NC. He went out of his way to be cool and I still appreciate it. JD the bassist as well. These are truly cool people in addition to top world class musicians! I will always love Vinnie Moore and JD.
I still can't imagine how guys like Kirk Hammett or Kerry King got famous and rich while this virtuosic beast is still relatively unknown to most casual guitar fans
Don't be mad at me. I'm listening for the first time. I'm 67. He sounds amazing! But I think what has happened to Vinny, like to do many 80s guitarists, is that there were quite a few great guitarists that emerged then. I'm an Alice Cooper nut and he always had the best guitarists on his tours! Hell, Vinnie may have toured with him! But I agree with all of you, that was fuggin' amazing!
Vinnie was already the guitarist of Alice in the late 80’s, early 90’s. He also played on his many tracks on Stoopid album as well. Correct me if I’m wrong. Cheers.
We went to high school together.William Penn H.S.Newcastle De !! The nicest guy, never partied with us on the bus…just guitar guitar guitar.I was at his first “gig”. Church carnival, none of even knew he really played.Love the guy !!!
I just discovered Vinnie about a month ago when I started learning morning star From Warleyson Almeida- who’s a monster cover fellow. Then I found I like this tune even more. Why did I never hear it earlier? Anyway, I thank God. I now know what Vinnie is capable of. 🙂 There’s a lot more soul here. Plus I like the melodies better than 90% of Yngvies work
Who is the one pinhead that put a dislike on here???? I'm a bassist and it doesn't get much better than this in my opinion. When my Wife and I got married 25 years ago, she walked down the aisle with Vinnie's "April Sky" playing. Time Odyssey and Meltdown are my two favorite's, but I give a thumb's up to everything that Vinnie has put out there over the years.........
Your still the man Vinnie Moore,I absolutely love your playing style/tone/feel. Paul Gilbert is my other all time Favorite Shredder. I've been listening to your music ever since I've been a kid. I just started playing guitar again and have a small Recording/Practice Studio. I started a TH-cam Channel. Keep up all the great work my man.
I like some others. Greg Howe and Tony Macalpine are excellent guitarrists too. High Level in playing. Mike Varney defined Vinnie Moore using the right words. A legend of music and guitar.
I just heard this tune yesterday thanks to a compilation CD I received as a stocking stuffer. This diamond in the rough really hit the spot. I can't believe I never listened to this guy before. Gonna be checking out more Vinnie!
Awesome to see Vinnie as a young man, mature way before his years...easily one of the best, if not Thee best instrumental electric guitar songs/videos ever made. Thanks so much for the joy you give!
I absolutely love this cd and sooo glad you did this video too. Early to mid 90s in Chicagoland area there was a cable access show titled Rock Hard Videos I think. That show regularly played this video. The good ol days.
You rarely see a jazz bass being played in rock. I wonder why. I was more of a Racer X fan but I knew of him back then. This is cool. Need to go back and research.
Saw Vinnie play this at a guitar clinic in Newcastle UK in the early 90s. He played a warmup solo at the start of the show, packed with chops and at the end asked the crowd "any questions?" A lone voice shouted "Yeah, do you want to join my band?" 🤣
I am a big fan of yours!!!!! You were one of my inspirations and influences in my adolescence. Thanks to his techniques, I evolved a lot on the guitar and today I am a guitar teacher. Thank you so much master 🙏🙏 I play a composition of yours called "April Sky."
YOOOO Vinnie!!! I actually got to see you on this tour when you played the Ardmore Cabaret outside of Philly and you guys hung out and talked with us afterwards and signed a Meltdown poster for me...one of my favorite concert memories of all time brother...jam on Vinnie!!!
Alice in Chains is my favorite band. That being said, they were basically born from the end of the 80s and kept metal evolving. This song is another example of the post 80s evolution. You can hear something similar in Warrant's Uncle Tom's Cabin and many others.
I still remember when a fellow guitarist asked me “if I had heard Vinnie Moore” way back when and the odd look on his face when I responded with no… It was most likely not that much different than the odd look on my face once I finally heard Vinnie, because he absolutely blew my freaking mind
I just discovered the guitar in the video is called a Heartfield Talon, made in Japan by order from Fender. Only lasted until 93; seeming as I live in Japan I’ll keep an eye out for one.
Back when there was good hair in metal. In all seriousness though, what an amazing solo. How did he get his fretting hand so fast? (Maybe legato training?) One day I wanna play like Vinnie.

Vinnie Moore seems to be a tragedy of his time. Not old enough to be around when EVH or Randy rocked the scene, hit right after Malmsteen. So much of his talents arent appreciated.
Not only was he the most underrated guitarist of the 80's and 90's, he also had the best hair.
The most underrated guitarist of the world
I fucking love this song! Where's all the love for Vinnie!?....
and possibily the best...his debut album Mind´s eye is as good as Yngwie´s Malmsteen Rising Force

I'm a simple man - I see Vinnie Moore, I upvote
I can't imagine the morons that gave him a thumbs down
Music like this used to be played on mainstream radio....let that sink in boys. Summer of '91!
I wore that album out. Every song on it is absolutely mindblowing.
Drop D anger.
Esse CD é parada obrigatória pra qualquer guitarrista do planeta!
Today on 3/1/24 I found this glorious song. What a day.

because having a better technique does not mean necessarily better music.
Vinnie ain't so good at live performances... That is one of the many other factors lol
Bad timing, 90s solos were out.
Because most people don’t listen to instrumental music. I love it but most don’t.
@@ptose yeah ! but Metallica is shit as fuck :D
