    Mind’s Eye every note were engraved in my subconscious a long ago, it still remains one of the best neo-classical metal guitar albums ever made to this very day after 40 + years of listening to thousands of albums from all genres. Amazing cover for this song, but I wish it had the lead harmonies to give it the justice it deserves.

    • @ClassicSoloSpotlight
      @ClassicSoloSpotlight  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, harmonies add a lot. I decided to do one-guitar arrangements to keep everything a bit more realistic and relatable. But the harmonies still pop through a little bit in the background music.

    Nicely done once again man.. Minds eye album is a bible of awesome phrasing, riffs and solos. It's a shame not many are aware of it. I remember listening to it on cassette and was pure inspiration. Kudos on nailing the keyboard solo too..

    Got to admire Mike Varney's Shrapnel record renaissance days... Brings me back to Yngwie starting neoclassical runs in warp speed. Always liked how Vinnie & Tony Mac added their own flair. I was lucky enough as a teenager seeing Yngwie in 1986 at the start of the Trilogy tour in a general admission smaller setting. I had bought Rising Force in 1985 as it began to get big here in the states and I was blown away. You are a very accurate guitarist that deserves praise. Thanks!

      oh, holding back memories.... somewhere, in 2000-2001, going together with a good friend of mine to visit one of his co-workers, the host gave me the audio cassette of "Mind's Eye" album, said it's useless to him. Having the walkman with me, on our way out I put the tape in it, press play and get instantly stunned! and wondering: how come the best thing I ever heard could be useless to someone? And that was the introduction of VM to me... love him ever since! Good job, man, all the way through!

    looks like slightly different pick hand technique on this solo as compared to malmsteen stuff? Is that a conscious thing or just going with the flow. Perhaps this is actually picked more whereas malmsteen has an odd pulloff thrown in here and there?

    • @ClassicSoloSpotlight
      @ClassicSoloSpotlight  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats right, I shift a lot between parallel and angled picking. It depends on the part and what sound I'm going for. On Malmsteen I use more parallel because the attack is smoother and cleaner. Vinnie Moore is more metal and aggressive so I use more angled attack. And the really fast triplets are all circle picked.

      I love Goldy. Maybe not the "Dream Evil" song, but I was planning to do "Over Love" or "Night People". He plays like a demon on those. I like his Blackmore influence.

      @@ClassicSoloSpotlight Craig Goldy Is an awesome Guitar player in my opinion. He's got and Amazing sound and style of playing, with lots of Blackmore influence. I like his vibrato on the Guitar chords. I respect him a lot and the "Dream Evil" album Is One of my favorite of all time...both "Overlove" and "Night people" are great Songs!! Good choice Indeed!🌚🤘🎸

    Great job, Peter, excellent, the keyboard part sounds great and you make seems accessible to play. How is your tutorial on Patreon about In Control?

      @ClassicSoloSpotlight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paulo, thank you. My Patreon videos are isolated tutorial "tracks". That means my guitar (or keyboard part as you mention) part is fully isolated in the video. You hear just the guitar part , so you can slow down the video player and follow along. It is not a spoken lesson.

    Appears as if you use your pick like Michael Angelo Batio does. Alternating between a downward and upward slant as needed. Very efficient and beautiful sound as well...unlike a machine like Batio. LOL

    Based Strat shredder. I didn’t need to sit through 30 seconds of nothing beforehand, though.
