Agreed. I remember reading an article (probably in American Cinematographer) where the SNL crew basically have to be able to light and shoot every genre possible. I don't know if it started with the Andy Samberg videos or what but yes, it's incredibly satisfying to see them pull all this off in a week.

Yes, I agree to an extent. I think that 1 out of every 50-100 sketches is actually funny. So on average they probably have like 15 good/funny sketches a year...
Daniel Craig is such a great actor. His commitment to the bit is awesome.

Probably because he is tired of the cliched serious plot lines of the 007 films.
From what little I've heard of Daniel Craig playing Bond, this is probably the most fun he's had in the role.
Aside from possibly the 2012 Olympics skit with the Queen.
It's also probably the most like book Bond he's ever been (and he's already the most book Bond). Just needed him doing speed.
Love that James Bond hangs with folks you actually see at a real casino like an old lady, the guy escaping from his wife for the weekend, drunk girl, and friendly guy from a bachelor party. You NEVER see people like that in a real Bond film.
To be fair, super high end casinos (that Bond would go to I'm assuming) are more private

I thought they brought a high end upscale Hollywood actress in. That in and of itself felt weird because it didn't seem like something SNL did.
They usually pair a guest host actor with one of their comedic lady cast members who would really ham it up like the ones are around the table.
So to see him paired up with someone playing it straight like him seemed out of character for the show.
I really thought she was the real deal. I still don't know witch cast member she is. Did the fat one lose weight.

I love how Craig does comedy after his chops in Logan Lucky and Knives out and him being on SNL, I can see him doing more comedic stuff. Guy Ritchie needs to get Craig for a film.

I've always remembered if you capture Bond just shoot him. Don't tell him you plans just shoot him.

Most of the time an actor parodying their own character falls flat. But Daniel was tuned in to ham it up from minute one, and I was surprised it worked.

This sketch was already a solid 9/10. The final Gunbarrel shot with Keenan Thompson elevated it to 11/10
I only wish it was the CGI take of the Maurice Binder designed gunbarrel as seen from GoldenEye to The World is Not Enough, but still funny none the less!
