I fricken hate how all of these new thin edc type guns are not ambidextrous like get that it makes the gun more streamline for conceal carry but these guns are already thin enough why lose out on all the lefties that are willing to stand their ground and not settle for a gun that should at least have an option for ambidextrous controls or left only id pay more to have one special ordered its really frustrating a lot of really good edc guns that are coming that I wont even consider twice if there isnt a left handed slide release. And it is a big deal for all those that say it it isnt or you should adapt or compromise how about you righties stop using the right handed manipulations and only use left handed side if its ambidextrous or if ur gun isnt then just rack the slide or use ur index finger to close the slide like we all have too and see how long you’ll put up with it for its some bullshit.
The Shield has been around for a decade or more, why in 2024 could they not make the safety ambidextrous? Even right handed people train with their left hand occasionally. How challenging can it be to achieve what almost every other manufacturer did years ago.

Does the 30sc Shield Plus barrel fit in the Plus Carry comp slide? It appears the new barrel is only longer for the cut in the barrel, so the normal barrel would just be like on the Macro or the PSA C-1 slides, which are shorter and don't extend past the comped portion of the slides.

Debating on this or the metal carry comp. Great review, thank you!
Can you just buy the comped slide and barrel for the Hellcat pro if you want to upgrade the regular Hellcat pro
Awesome video!! I’m stuck between the shield carry comp and the performance polymer carry comp? Is the shield shorter and less heavy?
Bought the Shield Plus Performance Center 4" a few weeks before this new comp version came out. It's replacing my Glock 43x as EDC. The S&W shoots so much smoother and is more accurate.
I’m wondering what would be better for carrying this or the bodyguard 2.0. I prefer pocket carry, but wonder about the bodyguards effective range in terms of accuracy.
What's a good recommended holster for conceal carry you recommend?
Please, smith & wesson, put these sights on the regular shield plus
4" and 4 o clock position. Yes
All of the new Carry Comp lineup is also Performance Center
The trigger isn’t a performance center trigger
@@crescentsweep2460 I haven’t had one myself to confirm, but according to their website it is a performance center trigger.
@@crescentsweep2460 Copied straight from the website: Flat-face trigger with PC™ tuned action. Regardless, the trigger on mine feels great.

That is a sweet looking shooter
Awesome looking firearm 🔥
How does this compare to the echelon? Are they the same class?
Nice I like the M&P lineup.
great vid
Smith and Wesson does it all w out the light rail
I want to see what U guys think about the Archon Type B Gen 2. It’s a very low bore axis gun with a patented speed lock design locking mechanism instead of the typical Browning tilting barrel locking style. Supposed to be a very flat shooting gun and has a cool grip design where U can change from compact size 15 rd grip to 18rd full size grip. It’s very similar not a the 80 percent Arms 80 percent GST9 Gen 3 Glock frame that was on the market.
Is it worth getting this if a 4inch shield plus ported is already in the rotation? Functionally it’s pretty much the same gun no?
Does the 30sc Shield Plus barrel fit in the Plus Carry comp slide? It appears the new barrel is only longer for the cut in the barrel, so the normal barrel would just be like on the Macro or the PSA C-1 slides, which are shorter and don't extend past the comped portion of the slides.
Any news on a walther, canik or cz micro 9?
What makes this better than the hellcat pro comp?
They are both absolutely unreal handguns. They are the best of the best. If I hate to rate them out of 100 points, the shield plus carry comp would be 51 and the hellcat pro comp would’ve 49. They are that close. I just shoot the carry comp betters respect
@@spnfirearmsI’m considering getting one and having my P365 as a secondary for carry.
My p365 has had 1 issue out of over 2k rounds. It just failed to go into battery. Could have been ammo or my grip.
I just need smith to make a regular 4 inch shield with an optic cut and a full length dust guard that can mount a tlr7 sub and were set
Is this really 2.3 oz lighter than the 3.1 PC Plus?
Question: let’s take carrying out of the equation, would you prefer this new shield over the new full size 9?
I got small hands and only around 130lbs the hellcat hurt to much to shoot comfortably would this be a better option? My choices were this the 48 or 43x
Ruger has been giving us mostly uninspiring, lackluster choices in semi-autos ever since they stopped making the excellent SR9 and SR40 models. (Security 380, and LCP MAX as the only somewhat decent exceptions) The Ruger American and American compact were unnecessarily bulky and heavy, and homely as well. Overall quality of design and materials seems to have suffered a little as well, in the last few years. Fortunately I found a pristine used SR9c in all black finish at the LGS and pounced on it. I've been wanting one for a year or more.
SPN, Would you consider this as a carry and home defense firearm? I'm looking for dual purpose and am small framed.
Oh yeah. It takes the 15 round mags so 100%. It is a great shooting handgun all around and is feature packed. Respect!
@@spnfirearms much appreciated!
I got the performance center ported and i love it my edc…
Which is really the best?
Hellcat pro comp or this shield comp?
The hellcat pro has 17 round magazine.
I have a Shield Plus 3.1 inch. Worth selling to upgrade to this?
Would like to see how this shoots 115 gr
Can’t wait to try it this weekend! Let’s gooo!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE do a side by side comparison with the M&P 9 shield plus
According to smith it weighs 17.9oz vs the 3.1inch which weights just over 20. Absolutely crazy
Wish it came with a pic rail
What SKU/model number is this? Having trouble finding it in the literature.
Yeah, this would be cool if I could find one.
Great review. Thanks!
My shield plus is having mag issues s&w are sending me new springs but I really love my shield plus
The carry comp is a Performance Center
Concealed carry has come full circle now. It went from full size to super small to full size again lol. Sick gun though.
I wish S&W would listen! I been wanting a shield plus with an integrated laser for a long time. They sold a lot of the 2.0’s.
Got email from smith and wesson yesterday. Shield plus with integrated lazer for $550 on their website 😂 right after I spent 500 on a shield plus without one😢
@@Schizophrenic-Clown
Shut up! Serious? I’d sell my plus with red dot asap to fund that one!
So, no update on your holster line? So how would it compare to the fn 509 midsize, both have a 4" barrel
Don’t worry, it’s coming! And this probably is comparable in recoil, and more accurate. Respect
@spnfirearms ok keep us updated, looking for new holsters for my fn 509 compact tactical and my fn reflex
