This may be the best Scenic Cruiser Restoration/Conversion I've ever seen. I looked into the feasibility of such a project many years ago and after studying the project I decided it was not practical. What this craftsman did in raising the roof and lengthening the coach is nothing short of genius due to the original design and engineering.

That coach must fly up a steep hill with a series 60 !!! I have a 6V92T and I'm down to 25 mile per hour on a hill ! Amazing Amazing work !!! Congrats !!!

The front was standard but the rear was all bunks, triple deck. We went as far south as Key West, west as San Francisco, east as Halifax Nova Scotia and north to Michigan's U.P. Awesome to drive and dead quiet up front. Our bus was almost all white and nicknamed 'Moby Bus'.

LMAO.... I'm watching this in 2022 to get some ideas for my own Scenicruiser conversion. I'm guessing back in 2012 when this was made it wasn't common knowledge not to flip your cameraphone back and forth between portrait and landscape! Beautiful rig though, and I love your layout! But then, I scroll down to the next set of comments and we get the classic... " just messing. your good"!!!!! Holy Crap.....pretty funny! There are quite a few comments about the sideways video and TBD has gotten sensitive about them. Obviously, the vid was shot with a cell phone....(one of the hazards of shooting cell phone video)!
This was shot on a phone and the screen rotation was off but still managed to turn sideways some how thanks for the comments we know its messed up but didnt know until later were hardly home so its hard to reshoot

that was more than a restoration, a customization is what it was. That had to be in the 300K range for all that work, someone that specifically wanted them would buy it

mirror finished stainless would be ur best bet for long term longevity. Contact International bus parts. They will be able to help you on most of your bus needs.
How much of this work did you do yourself and what kind of $ invested? I was looking for ideas, I'm about to take on a 4104 or eagle. I'm attracted to both because of the look, obviously the skirting is a big part of that. What made you chose to change it to stainless, easier maintenance and higher shine? I had intentions of polishing the skirting on whichever bus I got, not sure how to polish stainless but I have done aluminum before, but maybe replacing it would be easier long term?
Sweet. I am looking at a 1980 MCI M9 with the Detroit 8V71 and Allison 4 speed. How much did that 60 series Detroit cost you? And would it fit in the space of a non turbo 8V71? Many you did an awesome job on this Motorhome Pat. I wish you were my neighbor.

I use to drive an early 70's (Can't remember if it was 71 or '72) model Silver Eagle every weekend on a charter from New Haven Ct. to Atlantic City NJ. years ago. I always thought if I ever hit the lotto I would like to by me an old coach and spruce her up and live in it as long as I could. Mt old boss never paid much but I sure loved driving that coach I worked doing that as a second job for 3 years without a raise but after the first year I'd probably don it for free anyway. Yes sir you sure done a nice make over on that GMC. Thanks for sharing. I just noticed the date on this is 2012, Hope you read this anyway.
