    @jason, the one thing that i recommend you don't do with your bus is adding a whole bunch of stuff for indoor cooking. I spend about 10 4-day weekends camping every year, been doing this for well over a decade. Do your cooking outside! Inside is for coffeemaker, induction cooktop and microwave. Cook your fries and turkeys, steaks, Pizza, etc outside. Thank me later. No mess, no smell, no smoke, etc in your bed. Outside you can use charcoal, propane, wood, smoke, whatever you want without penalty. :)

    Thanks for the tour of this nice old bus. You've been teasing us for a while so it was good to see it. When I see the fit, finish and all that metal gleaming I imagine if Dusenburg would have built a coach, it would look like this.

    It is a silver 6-71TA turbo assist. Transit buses used them in the 1990’s really a good motor basically still sounds the same. Just had more power and a Wynn to it

    at 5:25 you show the shower. It looks like the shower pan steps down from the floor? I think that is the way to do it if you are anywhere near 6 foot.

    Hi Jason, Got a window question for you. A friend has a truck canopy that the cab to canopy window was leaking and he took it out. There is a window metal frame that goes into the rubber seal. The old seal had a rubber tape of some kind like double sided tape probably to keep the rubber seal tight to the frame is my guess. He bought new 3m 7/8" double back tape to put on the window frame and we will install it tomorrow. Question is I guess we use the string method but do you put anything on the rubber to help get it in?

    • @BusWithUs.
      @BusWithUs.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say - I'd have to see it.

    • @TimsWorkshopTJY
      @TimsWorkshopTJY 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks anyway, will try it tomorrow. We might not need a string, the rubber is pretty soft

    How much does it cost to buy old bus and to remodel one

    • @BusWithUs.
      @BusWithUs.  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on your level of expectations. You could spend 500K to reproduce this bus. A simple conversion could be 30-50K.

    So.. the drivetrain in this bus was built by Gene Russell of Russells Diesel in Mill Springs,NC.. Gene has a 47 that has the same engine and trans set up. I have ridden in Genes bus.. seen only a couple ddec 671's.. saw one for sale year ago in a GMC truck.. too much $ for just wanting the motor..

    • @BusWithUs.
      @BusWithUs.  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Gene used RH truck ECU's and rewired them to fire LH. Lots of work!

      @@BusWithUs. i saw the drivetrain in renners bus in action before his bus was done and went to nc.. gene had it in a bus and drive it around yard to work all kinks out. I forget what steering box comes out of..i think its a certain year ford truck one..modify the pitman arm off it for bus. He told me.. seen it..been so long..

      @@BusWithUs. i know a guy who says he has a ddec 671..its in a articulated city transit.. sits horizontal under floor.. when i was there..was too snakey to go pokin around. I saw a truck in nc that had a ddec 671.. but price of truck was a bit high..like $9k or better.. all i wanted was the ddec 671. It was mid 90's. Been told some early 90's Flxible transits had them.but hard to find.

    It’s a sad day for bus fans in Canada. Greyhound Canada had originally stopped operations in Canada because of COVID 19 has now announced that they are closing all Canadian operations permanently. The end of an line.

      It's a shame all the Greyhound Canada operations has stopped now. I did hear passenger ridership declined and I think COVID 19 capped it. l'm glad l bought the Greyhound Canada 1929-2021 Tribute Set.
