Ty Tabor is one of the most criminally underrated guitar players of all time. He has carved out his own unique niche in music that is his alone. The tone, the grooves, the chops, the shreds, the unique chord progressions, the good old comfortableness, the blues base - all just absolutely perfectly blended. And people talk more about lame guitar players like Joe Perry. This is just wrong.
Agree with you completely...up until the very end haha. If anything I think Joe Perry/Aerosmith have somehow become UNDERrated among classic rock guitar players and bands!

I first saw them at the old Penny Arcade in Charlotte NY, on Dogman tour. Still distinctly remember the bass on “Pillow” was so deep and powerful almost lost control of all bodily functions! Best sounding tightest band I’ve ever heard, and have seen them live 4 times. Living legends

Fan since I bought Out of the Silent Planet in 1988. At the record store I thought the artwork looked cool so I brought it home and put it on the turntable. O.M.G.
I bought a "Gretchen" cassette for the very same reason. "Huh, that's a pretty wild cover"... Bought "Out of the Silent Planet" one day later. Seriously, went back to the store the very next day. They are that good... If they had more than 2 albums out at the time, I would have bought them all. Well, as many as I could have afforded back then anyway. Instantly hooked. Hadn't heard anything like "Over My Head". Blew me away.
Had the pleasure to meet Doug and Jerry near the Gramercy theater two years ago they were so nice and friendly talked for a while and took pictures a day I’ll never forget

This is the ONLY band that I'm still star struck by, amazed by, and the only band that changed everything for me as a bass player, songwriter, even the way I hear music. When I first heard Out Of The Silent, and Gretchen..I was gobsmacked and hooked! All these years later and they still have the ability to just floor me. Love me some KX.
Ty really messed up Summerland solo. I miss the Lab Series amp and Fender Elite Strat sounds. For me, the Les Paul just doesn't really do the old stuff justice.
I keep hoping for that with bands I’ve loved forever, like Weezer, 311, and Foo Fighters. Something amazing about finding the right dudes, and sticking it out together. Drugs help, I’m guessing.

Yeah he lost his voice a lot later than most so he can still sing but just lost his top end from the sounds of it. The last album he's at a much lower register, almost sounds a bit closer to Hendrix's vocals actually IMHO.

Poor guys work so hard and the sound engineers are not giving them good sound. They are having to struggle like an amateur bar band. They deserve better. But it's exactly why they still use real amps on stage. You can't trust sound engineers to give you good proper monitoring even though most are demanding silent stages. That was always my problem with silent stages. Never get quality sound and most of the time never hear yourself or anyone else clearly. Glad these guys are still rocking out and killing it.

I would conservatory estimate that at least half of King's X songs feature Dug playing a 12 string. Your move.

He’s playing through an amp with a ton of gain (distortion) and he’s playing in drop D which means he just has to lay his finger flat across the top two strings to play a power cord and when you do that and have a ton of gain you can force the strings down with your left hand just a tad harder and you don’t need to strum. He only does it a little bit. It’s def him playing, not a recording.

Love this band. First time I heard of them, they opened for Dream Theater in Dallas early 90s and its still one the best shows Ive seen/heard.
