Yeh such a great band. And it sucks since they are famous and other famous musicians like memebers of alice and chains and pearl jam respect them and doug is in band with member of korn and lynch mob but they need to be more respected and appreciated by more peeps theyre great
Kings X came out from behind a table to meet me and two of my buds when we went to see them and then attended a meet and greet. One of my buds was in a wheelchair and bald from radiation.Kings X spent xtra time with him and he was over the moon.My buddy lasted 6 months after that and they gave him a priceless memory. They live what they sing about.I saw them three times in Pittsburgh.
My best friend turned me on to this incredible band back in the 80's and we would jam out to them for hours and have a good time. I've been a faithful fan ever since. He has since passed away, but anytime I want to remember him, I can just listen to any King's X song and I'm there. Thank you Dug, Ty and Jerry.
The song that hooked me on Kings X......My young daughter loved this song and used to ask me to play "Gramma Used To Sing" and when the song was over would say AGAIN! Calling Kings X Underrated is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!
King's X don't need fancy stages where you can barely see them. They don't need Premium tickets for people to stand in the front row. They don't need any of that shit. Only those who saw intimate concerts like this know what I'm talking about. BEST LIVE BAND IN THE WORLD period
Used to be. Last three shows I've seen overt last two years were terrible. Terrible sound emotionless performances. They were always my favorite band. Sad.
Saw them twice this year (Chicago & Dayton).....great sound and energy at both shows....sold out both venues (even tho they were small). Where did you see them?
I was at this show...Rocked the fuckin house. I've seen them 8 times. Only once was I unimpressed with the show. My brother went to 5 shows after this around the midwest and said they were all very good shows.
I had Gretchen on heavy rotation in my car cd player back in the 90s. So glad I looked this up. Brought tears to my eyes. One of the greatest bands ever
King's X is hands down my favorite band. Started listening to them in the late 80's; the other bands I liked at that time I barely listen to anymore (if at all), but King's X is still in heavy rotation for me. Just awesome song writing and musicianship. And Doug is a special soul, Love you brother.
An absolute *BEAST* of a song, by one of the all-time greatest bands... Was gutted their European tour was cancelled, and there's still no inkling of when might come over. I'd love to see them live.
Thank you so much for posting this. Fantastic video and audio quality. King's X is my favorite band of all time and I am sooooo happy that here in 2016 Dug, Ty and Jerry are STILL together as King's X and STILL playing fantastic shows. Seeing Jerry wailing away on the drums after his health scares in recent years brings a HUGE smile to my face. These guys have brought me much happiness as I am sure they've done to many, many people over the years.
As a guitar player in his 20's that loves groove, heavy rock and funky riffs, i am so stoked to come across a band like this. And they're still doing concerts! Guess who's buying tickets for that
Hey let's make this "most underrated band" HIGHLY rated when the new album comes out later this year. They will be touring too. The past is the past. Let's make 2022 the "start" of King's X Appreciation.
Wow, really Luke? Bro, I JUST listened to a live podcast he did thats here on YT and he CLEARLY stated he NEVER practices a solo before recording it, so as to capture the spontaneity of a fresh chance at a new piece. So, sorry to tell you, your post states a non fact friend. Can i humbly ASK (not tell!) you to either edit it or pull it? Its a fast way to keep an untruth from becoming fact, know what i mean? This IS the age of social media . . .
Please.. You got me wrong and by the response you should cool down. Man I got the first album right when it came out and been there ever since so cut the crap if you cant take a joke
I've seen many bands live in my life time and so far King's X by far is the best I've seen live!] great musicianship, tight, talented, massive wall of great TONE! I've only seen them twice but man, love to see them again...
Found these guys in the late 80s. I had all but given up on music until then. I’ve seen these guys a few times over the years and they never disappoint. Going to see them again soon with some friends at the Warehouse Live here in Houston.
Fantastic performance and tone ! Ty back to strat : that's how it should always be. The overall tone is close to the early years and it's a blast to ear the rumble of the bass and this strat tone.
Oh god,, that last part where Ty played a half fret sharp and was looking at Ty like "Hey, wait a minute, something isn't sounding right. Wait, is it my bass? Man, a string didn't go THAT far south did i . . oh shit, I'm playing in the wrong position, doh!!" Its so cool and so rare to see 3 guys this old, struggling for as long as they have, and still clearly are happy, enjoying each others company and still having alot of fun. Good on you guys, and take to heart what Doug's talking about regarding LIVING that love, not just talking about it on Facebook and shit . . .
I've heard of Kings X but this is the first time I've heard them, amazing! I hope they come back to Reggies, seems to be the place for the the great guitar players, I'v e already seen Allan Holdsworth, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, Tony MacAlpine, Andy Timmons and more at Reggie's, love that place. Thanks for posting!
Man, i was so happy to see these guys still tearing it up. I saw them when they toured with Satch, and Dream Theater back in '02. They were so good live. so good. Stay healthy guys, try and swing by Milwaukee sometime. Thx for the upload Meter.
Definitely one of the most underrated bands from the 90s, with some of the most talented musicians. DP is a monster, great message in the middle so true. Ty is just connected to an entirely different dimension! Great video brother thanks
Ty Tabor makes it look easy to play with such fluid fiery tasty excellence. It can be done with lots of talent and endless hours of practice, and it isn't easy.
3 guys that genuinely love what they do and and genuinely like each other. I played pool with Dug Pinnick at the Nick before their set in Birmingham, Alabama in 2005. Nice guy. Briefly met the others.
Absolutely fucking beautiful! Loved it. Love them. Praying they come to the UK - they pulled out of a gig in Birmingham a year or two back - I was gutted. These lads were and are, SO good. Thanks, Jon, for putting this on YT, I really appreciate it. PT x
Thanks for sharing this. My favorite band ever, hands down. Unfortunately missed them last time they passed by and hoping I get to see them again. Nothing scheduled in the near future, so this will have to do. Thanks again it means a lot.
An amazing and resilient band that is still here. Jerry Gaskill went through so much and has come out on the other side. I wish them so much more success. I know they are in the twilight years but you never know. They deserve to be so much bigger..
Hye Mister,Bass Player....Dig, I've gotta story for you Man... a long time ago in a Galaxy Far away, back in 1987 'er '88 I was attending school at the University of Houston, I was also working there as well at the time, including working on weekend's...well once late Saturday afternoon, very early evening, I was working there at the 'Student Center" and I remember, helping you with The Bands equipment, getting it on to the freight eleveator, I saw you and what you were doing and offered to help. YOU accepted. We spoke,in the elevator, briefly, but I could snese and feel this electric energy coming from you and the band..and I Knew then that you all as a Band "had it" the "it" factor and I remember telling you so,and that you all were gonna REALLY make it. !! I was an active musician ,as well ,at the time, too,by the way. YOU were very gracious and soft spoken 'somber' almost, but I knew you guys were gonna make it,I KNEW IT!! damn if it didnt come to be True in this Life. coz a YEAR later, there was standing room only, especially in Europe!! That night though it was a small, college crowd just diggin your sounds for the evening, it was definitely a 'different' kind of Rock, plus som' som'. As Jimi used ta say "I see that we meet again Dig!" Sing on dude, play on drummer!!
We opened for them when they were the edge and they were a 4 piece. Still have that promo pack. They killed Hendrix MANIC DEPRESSION. I will never forget it been a fan ever since!!
We opened for them when they were the edge and they were a 4 piece. Still have that promo pack. They killed Hendrix MANIC DEPRESSION. I will never forget it been a fan ever since!!
I've seen them once, before I really knew who they were, they were opening for Satriani/Dream Theater (yeah, way back then). They've been one of my favourite bands ever since, and I GOTTA see them again at least once more.
The Guys have phenomenal vocals Doug pinnix Badd Ass on vocals and bass. T y Tabor is one hell of a guitar player probably 1 of the most underrated and is far is the drummer goes I swear to God on 1 album Cover he look like Jesus Christ I believe it was dog manYou guys are phenomenal never stop playing so underrated
My God I would listen to my dad's cassette tapes of dogman, Gretchen goes to Nebraska, kings'x self titled, best of kings'x in his gremlin and just ate it up!!!! THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OF ALL TIME! I have to meet them at least once in my life before I die.... Do your self a favor and buy kings'x "live all over the place the best live rock recording of any band ever!!!!
One of the most criminally underrated bands ever!!!
Damn right. Amazing band.
Everything you want in a power trio, groove, solos, three part harmonies.
Yeh such a great band. And it sucks since they are famous and other famous musicians like memebers of alice and chains and pearl jam respect them and doug is in band with member of korn and lynch mob but they need to be more respected and appreciated by more peeps theyre great
Completely agree and Ty Tabor is seriously underrated guitarists ever.
James Davis Show me their rating.
As a band, it torments me how underrated they are. Some of the best riffs and guitar work and harmonies.
May he Rock in paradise.
When it’s all said and done, and they finally call it quits, maybe then, people will realize what legends these guys were.

Phil X introduced me to this. Fantastic riff. That strat sounds badass
King's X don't need fancy stages where you can barely see them. They don't need Premium tickets for people to stand in the front row. They don't need any of that shit. Only those who saw intimate concerts like this know what I'm talking about. BEST LIVE BAND IN THE WORLD period

They were opening for ACDC over 20 years ago and that was not a comfortable zone
FeelingShred amazing! Finally just saw them after millions of years late. Saturday April 28th 2018 Agoura ca. Shiw was killer!
Most underrated band out there! Should have been a lot bigger!!!
They may not have garnered commercial fame, but they have garnered respect.
@MTRoss87 In this case, it applies.
I think they're great as a trio tbh
Jim Rocker Then show me their low rating.
Underrated might be the wrong term...underknown would be more accurate
Whenever I feel a bit dull and things are getting on top of me I just put this on at full volume. Instant cure!!
I had Gretchen on heavy rotation in my car cd player back in the 90s. So glad I looked this up. Brought tears to my eyes. One of the greatest bands ever
Ty's tone!!!!.....It's amazing how he gets such a warm sound from that bridge pickup on a strat...
And a solidstate amp😃
King's X is hands down my favorite band. Started listening to them in the late 80's; the other bands I liked at that time I barely listen to anymore (if at all), but King's X is still in heavy rotation for me. Just awesome song writing and musicianship. And Doug is a special soul, Love you brother.
"You can't get a heavy rock sound out of single coils......" "Hold my beer." -Ty Tabor
I think the same LOL 🤣
“Single coils and a 100% solid state amp.” He’s going completely against the grain.
Right, talk to Jimi, Richie also 😂
@@jazznotes3802 he humbucked the trend
I've seen him play so many different guitars over the decades, yet he always sounds like him. 🤍
it's a righteous shame the world doesn't know more about this amazing band! Great, great performance! King's X til I die!
An absolute *BEAST* of a song, by one of the all-time greatest bands...

Loved these guys since the 80s, so creative, sounding great!!
Hey let's make this "most underrated band" HIGHLY rated when the new album comes out later this year. They will be touring too. The past is the past. Let's make 2022 the "start" of King's X Appreciation.
Thanks for the great close-ups of Ty's playing!
Still Loving Kings X!!!! Such an incredible band. I've seen them live a few times. This takes me back...Thanks Doug, Ty, and Jerry.
Ty is a bass players guitarist. I wish there were more like him. He makes me want to play the damn thing!
That Bass tone from Pinnick hasn't changed in 30 years, it sounds like it breathing.....
Billy Sheehan plugged into it once, said it "sounded like an elephant, lol"
dUg can do no wrong. ✌🏼💜🎼
That's his bi-amped legend. One amp deep, accurate, clean, clear as a bell.
Amp #2 = CHAINSAW.
Add it up, it's just massive.
He is 66 in this concert.
@@palkovacs112 Are U sure?
loved this band since 1990. just great.
My favorite rock song writing band .i was there you guys killed it.Kings x for ever.
Ty Tabor's rhythm playing and timing is mind blowing. The solos leave me brain dead.
T Moody his rhythm is more enchanting to me than his lead.
he seldom improvises he's got a laid back attitude
You were brain-dead before ever watching this vid....!!

Fantastic performance and tone ! Ty back to strat : that's how it should always be. The overall tone is close to the early years and it's a blast to ear the rumble of the bass and this strat tone.
i wish he would get out the red Zion Ty Tabor model guitars - love the sound of that one into the mesa boogie rectifier like on Dogman...
GOD, I LOVE THESE GUYS - T.Tabor great guitarist, waht tone on those albums...!!!!!!!!!! I saw them at the Ritz in NYC back in 1998.
It's amazing after all these years those 3 dudes still crank it out. With energy and a relevant message. In the 80's that was one heavy bad ass song.
This band Rocks like no other !!! Pure Perfection !!! Turn It Up !!!
Oh god,, that last part where Ty played a half fret sharp and was looking at Ty like "Hey, wait a minute, something isn't sounding right. Wait, is it my bass? Man, a string didn't go THAT far south did i . . oh shit, I'm playing in the wrong position, doh!!"

This is the first song I heard by them. Can you imagine how happy I was? Been jamming since. 🤙🏼🎶
When these 3 get together & play it's sheer magic studio and live oh man it's king's X to the 10th power
just the very best always were allways will be. a joy to behold.
Great to see this...I was at this show. 1st time I ever saw them do an acoustic set. Got about 200 excellent photos. I love this band.
Definitely one of the most underrated bands from the 90s, with some of the most talented musicians. DP is a monster, great message in the middle so true. Ty is just connected to an entirely different dimension! Great video brother thanks
"Ty is just connected to an entirely different dimension!"
Bro, you summed it up perfectly.
I remember the first time I saw this video on Mtv a looong time ago. Love this band!
OMG........chills........Chills and JOY!! That intro made me happy👍❤️. The whole thing was beautiful.
Awesome band . Saw them at the Stone Pony in Asbury. It was great
That music that “Grandma used to sing” about, though... “that great cloud of witnesses...”
Ty Tabor makes it look easy to play with such fluid fiery tasty excellence. It can be done with lots of talent and endless hours of practice, and it isn't easy.
I haven't seen King's X since 1991 at the Bristol Beer Keller in the UK. They were great then and even better now! I need to see them live again.
I was at that show. Ended with 'Burning Down', I think. Supported by..Mind Funk? Still the most affecting show I've seen.

I just lost love of my life of 38 years. I needed this. 🤙🏼
Thanks for sharing! I just wish they would have turned Doug's bass up a little in the mix. I can scarcely hear it. That being said great performance!
Ty Tabor often overlooked player, criminally underrated.
Mudder1310 Who underrated him??
No one sounds like Ty. Ty sounds like no other. Genius.
Unbelievable talent.
Best live band. Period.
They have always rocked!!!!
Ty is a perfect example of how a large part of a guitarist's sound comes from the player vs the guitar / amps
One of my favorites for sure. Loved the earlier stuff.
Seeing them July...In NH.....Awesome
So underrated!! They sound amazing!
I love these guys! Thanks, Gents for all that you share.
One of my favorite bands all time. Love the fact they're still killing it.
Beautiful and inspiring.
Ty is a monster! Great to hear him from right out front. Thank you!
First time I saw them they were called Sneak Preview. 1984.
We opened for them when they were the edge and they were a 4 piece. Still have that promo pack. They killed Hendrix MANIC DEPRESSION. I will never forget it been a fan ever since!!

I was at this show right in front of dUg! I am even in this video a couple times. First time at 1:25 in the lower left corner! Great show!
I'm green with envy..... 🤙🏼💚
that's nothing byron, i was behind the guy filming this the whole show. lol
Love this band
Love them dearly for more than 30 years
I do like when they play at Reggie's you are so close to the stage
Love this band👊💥
I stood in front of Ty's rig just like the cameraman last time I saw them a couple years ago. Brings me back.
My God I would listen to my dad's cassette tapes of dogman, Gretchen goes to Nebraska, kings'x self titled, best of kings'x in his gremlin and just ate it up!!!! THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OF ALL TIME! As great as they are? Better live. One of the five best live acts I’ve seen, and I’ve seen Prince, the Stones, Funkadelic….
King's X one of most underrated bands ever!!!!
Weird not seeing Dug playing a 12 string bass but that tone is still there. Love these guys, always will.
One of the MOST underrated bands EVER! 🤘🤘
Doug still does it even he's agnostic. Love does not have boundaries
agnostic does not mean you dont believe in God, it just means you cant prove it
I love Doug - he is the real deal.
Rock'n roll is king and God..!! And Fuck the rest!!
the messenger is here

The song that turned me on to this band! Kings X absolutely kicks ass
