Could Scotty do a vid without his orchestra?? I don't believe he could but there are miracles every day supposadly, who knows? Do you believe in miracles?? Aussie chrisso. 🇦🇺
Quick tip. If your tranny feels notchy when it shifts for these, try and doing a tranny fluid drain and fill a couple times. DO NOT FLUSH IT WITH A MACHINE! If you try and do that it will break the transmission. It’ll kick up all the debris that settles at the bottom of the pan. That debris is fine if it sits at the bottom, the moment it gets into the tranny, it’ll tear everything up.
2008 RTL with over 252,000 miles on her. Minimal issues and very reliable. Changed the timing belt out every 100,000 miles, run synthetic oil, used good filters. None of the swithces, handles, knobs, window motors, etc have ever failed, which is more than I can say about other makes of vehicles that we have owned. I did have the AC Blower motor go out and the electric cooling fan behind the radiator got wobbly and noisy but those weren't all that bad to fix. And this Ridgeline climbs like a Billy Goat! Hard to get this truck stuck. Very satisfied for a 15 year old truck.
I’ve got a 2008 Ridgeline 2nd owner and I’ve got 274108 miles on it with no problems whatsoever. Reg oil change and all good. Very happy with the performance and abilities it’s got.
Scotty, my 2006 Ridgeline has 350,000 miles on it. No engine or transmission problems at all. Only major thing done was a new steering column. I changed oil every 3000 miles and transmission fluid every 50,000 miles. I sold it to a friend of mine and he has put another 25K on it. I bought a Toyota 4Runner but miss my Ridgeline.
Nice post! To the extent it seemed your Ridgeline treated you so well, why did you buy a 4Runner and not another Ridgeline? In what ways do you like or dislike the 4Runner compared to the Ridgeline, and in what ways do you miss the Ridgeline? Thanks!
@@richarde1355 my daughter had the 4Runner and needed to sell it so I just decided to buy it from her. I like the 4Runner a lot. I’m sure it will last as long as the Honda. The Ridgeline was starting to have some problems. Needed a new drivers side window motor, it needed a new temperature control for the AC and the AC resistor had to be replaced several times. The Ridgeline rode better than the Toyota but it has a unibody construction The Toyota is a body on frame vehicle. It is tougher and higher off the ground. Have a great day!
Dream man i got 2014 making noice from transmission differential! New engine at 180k 3.5 engine is junk had a Oddysay engine same thing timing was bad $1000 to fixe honda worst junk then Hundaj and
My 2006 Ridgeline has 218,000 miles on it. Still running strong. Now a days I only have a 3 mile drive to work so it’s a perfect work truck especially since I work at a steel mill
My old 06--sold it with 517,000. The 14 has 298,000..so few issues with both. Several years ago, u didn't like these trucks. Why now???..still no response...Scotty!
I’ve got a 2018. 2nd generation showed much improved aesthetic. Hopefully it will prove as reliable as the first gen. So far, no issues. The ride is so smooth. It’s the truck that 80% of truck owners wish they had, and is more practical for most daily lifestyles.
I’m original owner of an ‘07 RTL. In the states, they only came with 4wd, not something I needed. But, because I was a previous two-time Accord owner, I still bought it and love it!! 135k miles, I’ve needed a new sunroof motor, an alternator and power steering pump. Fair enough for 17 yrs. Still looks great inside and out!
I have a 2022 and love it. Very luxury car interior with a quiet ride. Has all of the safety features modern SUV's have that no other midsize truck has. Very roomy back seat compared to the tacoma as well. I don't need to off road, I just wanted AWD, a roomy cabin, a truck bed, and decent MPG. Checks all the boxes for me.
I got a 2023 two weeks ago. So far, it's been great. I don't need a giant truck, this mid-size is just right for me. Last weekend, I went out to a desert area and purposely attempted to get to places that I tried to with a crossover SUV and failed hard. I'm very happy with what it could do off-road. I'm not expecting to hang with the Jeep guys, going over 4-foot rocks and crazy stuff like that, I just want to get down a few rough roads to trail-heads that you can't get to in a RAV4. So far, very nice. I was able to climb a steep road where my RAV4 would spin out (the road was hard surface with about an inch of loose sand). Ridgeline did it flawlessly. I also took a run to the dump with some junk that had been pushed under my back porch and forgotten about. I got made fun of by some of the guys at work because my truck isn't giant and I didn't pay 80-grand for it. I don't care, the Ridgeline is what's right for me, everybody's gotta do their own thing.
My neighbor had 07 Ridgeline it lasted just over 850,000 miles. He Changed the oil and filter when the OLM light came on. My 06 has 140,000 runs great but getting scabby at rocker panels.
Ridgeline was recently voted as most reliable pick up based on the numbers for sale with more than 200,000 miles. Taco was #2. Completely different vehicles, but nice to know that the Ridgeline has longevity in its genes. Sadly its also rather pricey
@@russiaprivjet I wouldn't recommend a Honda ridge line for a work truck It's not a truck it's a Honda Odyssey Van with a truck body on it No 4 wheel drive it has 4 wheel drive no low range no lockers It's an all wheel drive mini van
I love my 2017 Ridgeline Touring I bought it used about 3 years ago. It is great for getting sheets of plywood and pulling small travel trailers. That is all that I need. The in bed trunk is one of the best unique features of the truck.
Love my 20 Ridgeline. Got 29 mpg on a recent trip . It’s more than enough for what I need. I wanted a F150 but they wanted over 62 grand. My wife’s cousin who has a 150 said he wish he had my Honda
Different application altogether. F150s will haul and tow more over time, especially V8s. The Ridgeline can tow for a V6, but the short bed seems unappealing for hauling. I feel like Scotty and some of you guys are right here, it's a niche product for certain people who want a pickup truck but don't want to go the whole hog and get one that can be truly used commercially. Similar idea behind the strange Cadillac Escalade pickup truck I think.
@@jayleehadaway2179 He said he only get 14 mpg hyway. Plus it’s a 2014 and has significant rust. He said his other 150 suffered the same rust problem. If I were to do more hauling the 150 is the way to go or the ram
You proably didn't need an f150 if the Ridgeline is more than enough 😂 These will fall apart if you treat them like work trucks. They weren't made for heavy use.
My Stepdad has a 2020 Ridgeline Black Edition. He loves the thing, calls it his baby. He switched from a Jeep and has said that the Ridgeline is just superb in everyway. Smooth, utility, reliable, spacious, and luxurious compared to his older jeep. And being a Honda owner myself I think he definitely traded up.
So far I love my 2017 Honda Ridgeline. I have 70,000 miles on it. Gas mileage is great. Was getting a code. Honda replaced all the injectors for free. They stand behind their product.
My 2009 which I bought from my cousin four years ago now has 89,000 trouble free miles. I had three Tacomas before this vehicle and I will never go back. The Ridgeline rides so much better and is more roomier than the Tacos. The hidden trunk is a great idea. With the back seats folded up and the flat floor, it’s amazing how much room is available there. I’ll never have any other truck.
@@VK-ds2dw Yes, I highly recommend this vehicle. Make sure the timing belt (and water pump) has been replaced at 100,000 miles. The transmission fluid should be replaced about every 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Only 3.3 qts of fluid drains out at a time. I replaced the fluid three times in two days just for safety. It’s an easy process. Also replace the rear differential fluid and transfer case fluid occasionally. I replaced my radiator at about 93,000 miles just for peace of mind. The transmission cooler is routed through the radiator and there is a washer in that system that CAN corrode and mix the transmission fluid with antifreeze. That obviously destroys the transmission.
I'm picky about youtube presentation style - usually I like normal and to the point, but your crazy and to the point really intrigues me - I like it and thank you. I just bought a 2023 Ridgeline and it blows me away - just what I wanted.
I have a 2014 Ridgeline RTL with just over 110,000 miles. I bought almost 3 year ago and absolutely love it. A good truck for city traffic - acceptable gas mileage, good handling, large enough to dissuade lane grabbers but not too big for narrow city streets. (Atlanta traffic is the worst!) On weekends, I use for the camping/hiking trips in the mountains and its great on washed-out Forest Service roads. I intended to keep it until it falls apart (or the zombie apocalypse, whichever comes first).
I bought a 2022 and love it!!! Most comfortable pickup I’ve ever driven. Friend had a 2008 and if mine goes as trouble free as his it will be in my driveway forever
Scotty one of your older videos you were joking on the Ridgeline . Its great to see that you have come around to just how great the Ridgeline is. I have owned three and my 2012 now has 263,000 miles on it and I absolutely LOVE it. It is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I am going to keep it for one million miles and I have no doubt it will make it.
3.5 v6 is a junk in every Honda ,had Oddysay bad timing,my friend has Pilot same junk,i got ridgeline making some noice from one of cylinders! Junk stay away
I have an 08. I bought it brand new $21,700. Not good for anything , but ok for everything. I have 86,000 miles on it. It gets 11.5 to 12 mpg in the city. Tows 5,000 lbs very well. I have gotten 20+ mpg on the highway.. I drive it ever day. One new set of tires, timing belt, struts, and 3 batteries. I change the oil with Mobil synthetic , and transmission every third oil change.. Great Truck
I have a 2008 Ridgeline, original owner, only 81k miles, never has been a problem! I too have the "tent above your head" issue, but as long as it keeps on being such a good truck I could care less......I highly recommend the Ridgeline!
Had 2006, over 300,000 miles, tried to haul full pallets of mulch. Transverse axles broke, gave to a friend, he spent $1700 and it’s still going strong.
I have an 09 that I bought new. We had just returned from living overseas and needed two cars. I had seen a Ridgeline in France early that summer. When my wife went to buy an Accord, I rode along and saw the same Ridgeline in the showroom that I had seen earlier in the summer and bought it. I’ve owned other cars while owning the Ridgeline but have never found a reason to get rid of it despite having received many trade in offers over the years. I’ve never had any major issues other than the paint has chipped away around the base of the rear door windows and there is some rust forming. At this point I don’t care. I live in the South, so any rust issue will likely develop slowly. I’ll drive the thing until the wheels fall off. There have been a few minor things: I had to replace the pulleys in the back that are part of the lift mechanism for the back seats. The originals were plastic. There was a replacement kit that included metal ones. The project took me a couple of hours, and I work slowly. The only other real annoyance is the calendar and clock stopped progressing last year as a result of a time base problem not worth explaining. The problem corrected itself this summer. I just need to disconnect the battery to cycle the system to bring the date current. I pick up loads of mulch and soil each spring, and I occasionally pull a good-sized trailer around with my small tractor. Never any issues with either of these activities.
I never thought I'd own one but recently bought a 2014 4x4 and I love it. I take it off road every weekend to go prospecting and it rides nice and has good power and I can't get this truck stuck. The 4x4 management is amazing
@plk1 yea I know but I'm new to honda it says 4x4 on the back of the truck. Mine i own this truck I get corrected 😅 on a few things that in the Chevy world I'd never think about
My neighbor had a 07 Ridgeline that had 850,000 miles before it died. He told me he didn’t know crap about cars. He got the oil and filter changed when the OLM light came on. Dealership $29.95 with $10.00 coupon. Probably used synthetic blend for that price.
Got a 2011 RTL at 135k and it’s a tank! I got it after I unfortunately got in an accident in my Pilot a while ago and it’s a hell of an upgrade!! Much cheaper than a Tacoma that I really wanted but it’s honestly more practical in my opinion. A great midsized truck, decent fuel economy and just a good daily driver for all I need it to be. Two thumbs up Scotty 😎🤙🏻
Bought a 2006 Ridgeline 3 years ago for $7000.00. Runs great and no rust! Only had 119000 miles on it. Spent all of its life in Texas and Florida until in came north to Ohio and I got it. Fluid filmed the crap out of it before I started driving in the snow. Rides great, plenty of power, just what I needed, I love it. Only thing that don't work is the reset button for the tripometers and oil life. Replaced the button assembly with no luck. Probably a computer issue. Just have to keep track old school with pencil and paper....lol!
@@shadowman1992 No I haven't had them done, they may have been done before I bought it. I think the manual says they only need adjusted if making noise. Had the timing belt done around 120000 miles.
They ride like a dream going down the road for a truck. I drove one for over 5 years and had no major problems. I loved it. I know a guy who has one with 535,000 miles on if with original motor and transmission. You can’t really ask for more than that. Maybe it will make a million?
I have a 2013 RTL with navi. It's clunky and screen sucks, but it still comes in handy.Backup camera has been a lifesaver. I noticed you missed one of the key features of the Ridgeline-- the trunk in the pickup bed. It is one of the main reasons I got a Ridgeline. I fit a full size cooler in there and use it to haul groceries. I've hauled appliances, lumber, and all sorts of stuff in the pickup bed.
I have a 2019 and I love it. It drives like a car but comes in handy when you need things like a truck. I already have over 100,000 miles on it and just had to replace the timing belt but otherwise I haven’t had any reliability issues. It’s also very quiet and smooth and gets good gas mileage.
I've a Lexus V8 and had to do the belt, but at 100,000 miles to 10 years it's no biggie. For me it's a once in a lifetime thing as far as ownership goes, at least there's no timing chain issues or noise etc etc.
@@Nightwish1773 Dad owned 25 tonne wrecker for 40 yrs. Bro and uncle drove semis. All pick ups small. 😂 First wanted nice car on off time and last 2 drove sml pickups for mix of both.
Don't forget to replace your PCV valve when required. I changed out mine in my '10 and it was a pain as it broke and eventually came out in 4 pieces.....I'm the second owner and I'd have to say it was never changed.
Thank you Scotty! 240,000 hard Ozark mountain miles on mine. A Little rust. My favorite feature is the hidden bed trunk. Store my golf clubs, and tools under the locked water tight bed.
Scotty so, so true. I have one that I have put 303,000 miles on it. I was off road 4 days a week for 10 years and it still doesn't squeak!!!! Only had to replace a real wheel seal other than batteries & tune ups. My Chevy's or Ford pickups never would have done this.
I have a 2006, bought new. Original rotors with no vibration. Great truck. 17 years plus strong! Haven’t even changed a hose. Just the usual maintenance.
Traveled to Georgia to pick up an 09 with 150k. It lived there all its life and had zero rust. Underside is amazingly clean. Tremendous service records, Michelin defenders with great tread. It was well loved and now I love it. Used it to move cross country pulling a trailer that was actually over 5,000 pounds. Pulled up into the Rockies just fine. These are outstanding vehicles, people really underestimate them.
I have a 2012 Honda Pilot, a ridgeline w/ a cap welded on. 230K miles. The only major issue was the piston damage from the CMS, Honda “Cleaned” the pistons and reassembled the engine. Rans great other than Check engine light, w/ Codes P0301, P0302 & P0303. New plugs, good to go.
@@nospark333 awesome to hear I have an 07 with 155k miles on it and I started reading about a valve adjustment and how others are saying you have to get one done or you can burn a valve but my ridgeline is running perfectly so I wanted to ask someone that had a high mileage one to see if they got by with the valves adjusted
I'm a Honda guy, I currently own a 2016 Honda Accord, thinking about picking up one of these older Ridgeline's in a few years. These are great for what they are, & it's all the practicality I'd probably ever need especially for a daily driver for the odd times I do want to pick up somethin & need a bed or a small trailer to do that with.
I bought one of these and I'm driving it across the country right now. Mine is an 07 and I have 123000 miles on it. I traded a 2013 Dodge Dart with 60k miles for it. Best decision I could have made. I love this truck.
@@shadowman1992 not yet. But it is on the list. I am doing a front end service on it now and replacing the cv axles and suspension myself. After that Im going to have the timing belt replaced and water pump swapped out. Im probably going to have them do the valve adjustment while theyre at it.
Oh yeah, the first gen frame recall, you need to tell the owner to take it in for that. I have personally done them at the dealer I work at. The recall procedure replaces the tank straps with new hardware. Also, you install studs in the body and one riv-bolt that allows you to install a new right and left frame bracket that ties the subframe to body. The second gen are a different design, that is why the recall is not needed on those. Seeing as that truck lived in N.Y. for a time, he should really have it done.
My 07 Rtl was awsome. Let it go cause I wanted something “stronger”. Well inflation happened and the price of new trucks are in the high 65s. And after test driving dodge and chevy I realize this truck carried its weight. Pay load and tow are up to par with full size pick ups.
I purchased my 07 model in 2009 and the only problem I had was when the AC went out. It has over 200k miles on it and has lasted through 2 high school boys. It has few dents scrapes but other than that been great.
I went from a 02 v6 Tacoma to a 14 Ridgeline. Pulling an enclosed trailer and dirt bikes off-road. The Tacoma was a great truck for the 17 years and 280,000 miles... But the the Ridgeline does everything the Taco did, but rides better and has a trunk.
I just got a 2023 a couple weeks ago. Anybody that I show that trunk to thinks that is awesome. They also like the tailgate that swings down or to the side.
Had my 06 for 16 years, 240,000 miles. Sold it to a young airmen who fixed it up and it’s still going. Unfortunately my 2019 got smashed by the hurricane but I plan on getting another one. Great for towing and home repair center runs.
@scottschreiber6008 I was just curious I really don't want to get one so I'm asking other ridgeline owners with high mileage if they ever had it done and most say no
My Ridgeline has 235 million miles and never did anything to it. Never even put gas in it, hell when I went to the gas station the teller would come out and give me 50$ just for fun. I never even replaced the tires or the oil never had to do a thing to it
I'm on my second one. Sold my first one to my daughter. Best vehicles I've ever owned. 245,000 miles and still feels new. Did all scheduled maintenance and hasn't had an issue all. Haul tons of firewood and gravel in bed and on big trailer. No problem. My buddies Fords and Chevys breaking down all the time.
I have a 2013 Ridgeline with 205k miles on it. Ive pulled a bobcat and ditch witch with it last summer when I built a garage. This thing is great. Ive considered trading it in but theres really no need since its given me very few problems. I had the whole air conditioner replaced, and a timing belt a couple months ago, but thats usual wear and tear. Im looking forward to another 200k miles on it lord willing and the creek dont rise.
My dad has an 06 with 365k and all he’s had to do is 3 timing belts and 1 rear main seal and still Running solid! Just a couple of brake jobs and timely oil changes.
That droopy headliner made me laugh and reminisce about my time selling cars. If your trade had a drooping headliner, I explained to the sales manager that it was an ear warmer. Massive hail damage? Just some hard water spots. Smashed front end? I told him the detail shop could buff it out.
I have a 2020 Ridgeline AWD I love it. Previously had a Chevy Silvarado and before that a Ford F150 and the owner of three Honda Accords the past 30 years.
When you change the fluid....I've read that it takes three quarts.....three times? (New owner of a used 06 here). Seems easy enough. What trans oil do you use. tHanks!
I have an 09 Honda pilot with the same motor.. Over 200,000 miles and still running well.. Uses a qt of oil every 3000 miles.. a lot cheaper then a 800-1000 dollar a month car payment 🎉
I have the same truck. 150k miles. Regarding the tpms sensors, if they go out, the traction control system will be disabled. The sensors are cheap, I recently replaced all sensors and it works good as new. I have owned the truck since '08, kept up with all the maintenance, replaced all shocks & struts, and it still runs like new. It's been an awesome truck for what I use it for.
@@shadowman1992 about 150k. I have a client with the same truck, 250k miles and still going strong. I use mine for service work and do about 13k miles /year. No desire to replace it. It's cheap to run and it owes me nothing.
@Bululdaya that's awesome I have an 07 with 155k and runs great. I asked about the valve adjustment because I have been getting nervous about not getting one so I like to ask other owners if they have ever gotten one.
I have 2017 RTL-E 93k, great truck if don't need the heavy duty full size. I own 4 Honda vehicles and 1 Acura. All are great vehicles. Keep up with fluid changes including transmission, transfer case and rear differential and they will last very long time.
My ‘06 Ridgeline has 250k miles and is still running great but has the P0420 codes. No rust and other than a finicky ac knob, saggy headliner and the rear seat bar that won’t lay flat while the seat is up, everything works
Have one with a little over 200k on it. Also has the PO420 code. Scotty didn't talk about the most important part of the vehicle ( according to my wife!).... The trunk.
I had a big Titan and liked it. But, we bought a house that has a garage that was 3" too small for the Titan to fit inside. So, I sold it and bought a 2012 Ridgleline RTL. (17" shorter)
I've had my 17 ridgeline for a couple of years. It's been great for Lowes trips, kayak, and motorcycle hauling. I put a soft topper on the bed and camped a few nights in it, with the tailgate down to fit. I really love this truck.
Have a 2006 that I bought with 149K a few years ago.. just turned 210K.....just replaced the water pump for the first time only as a preventative maintenance repair. Very well engineered vehicle.
@@Chickennuggetfries123 waterpump/timing belt...alittle costly to fix however once done your that's the only real issue to watch out for. In salt belt states the rear wheel lip and bottom edge of the tailgate can rust if not kept up. Make sure the rear subframe corrosion recall was taken care of - it could become separated from the vehicle resulting in a loss of control.
@@bobfuhrwerk2869 thanks big bro, the buyer told me it has 131,000 km and sometimes there is a P420 Code. quick google told me about the O2 sensors or the Catalytic converter, was wondering what your thoughts are, and is there a test pipe option , instead of going to catalytic converters.
@@Chickennuggetfries123 not that I'm aware of. Cat's can run about $900 (OEM).....you don't want aftermarket because the code will pop again within a year. If you really like the truck just have him deduct that cost from the price....worth a try to ask.
It is a tough midsized truck. Front wheel drive is just one of Honda’s great decisions on its design. The rear is a locker for huge utility if stuck. It’s great on snow and ice without using 4WD. That alone blows all other trucks out of the competition. It lasts forever outside of the rustbelt. Has great options like a dual open tailgate. A lockable trunk under the bed.
I have 220k on my 06', still runs great. Had to recharge the AC and fix the headliner but otherwise, she's ran great for me. Icefishing, fits a two man portable Clam in the back and never gets stuck. Front wheel drive pushes snow when getting to the fishing spot.
I have a 2007 Honda Pilot that I’ve only done regular maintenance on and it’s currently at 260k miles! This is a New York car so it’s seen a lot of snow!
@@shadowman1992 it’s truly an amazing vehicle! No car of today will ever make it even close to the mileage on this Pilot! I would say just keep up with the maintenance! One thing i do keep an eye on is the transmission fluid level.
I just wish Honda would make a full size truck version and join the truck big leagues! I love my Ridgeline- it does 75% of what all the other trucks do and then everything else better (like comfort and versatility). A friend tried to sell me his old Tundra for 8k whilst my Ridgeline is valued at 4k, yet the tundy felt like a piece of junk by comparison. If Ford F150 is really #1 selling truck in America, then Honda should wake up and crankout a bigger truck and clean the market!
Just had my gas tank recall done on my 2006 Ridgeline. still going strong with 251K miles. Reliable vehicle with no major issues - just do the recommended maintenance per service manual. had a guy that offered $6.5 for the truck - i chose to keep it.
My 2008 was the best pickup I ever owned. Always had full sized pickups and was talked into buying the Honda and was surprised at how good they are. I live in western NY and it got thru the snow better than any vehicle I've ever driven. They must be good vehicles because if you can find a used one for sale, they all have high mileage. People hold onto them until they are worn out.

My 08 ridgeline has 260k on it. Literally the most reliable vehicle I've had. Only thing I've had to change was the starter and alternator, which is nothing in my opinion. But living in WV, the rockers have rusted something serious, lol. Still tho, I'd take this truck over most "real" trucks from that time.
Owned Honda for over 40+ years. My Brother In-Law was Senior Mechanic at a couple different Ford Dealerships over the years. By the time a F150 reaches 200,000 to 250,000 it will start falling apart. The new 4 cyclinder Ford Engines with Turbo around 100,000 to 120,000 miles have a serious defect in them. Might as well replace the engine! How many Ford F150 buyers are aware of that? I have never gotten less than 350,000 miles on a Honda Engine, one went over 720,000 miles (same engine). Ford can't say that! While your Ford is rusting apart in 10 years or so, my Honda won't have any rust on it! But, do enjoy your F150, your time with it is limited, and oh, yeah the $60,000 to $80,000+ price range new! Thanks for posting, Scotty. My 2011 Ridgeline was made in Alabama. The first generation Ridgeline came in AWD only. Replace the timing belt on this interference engine every seven years or 110,000 miles, whichever comes first.
@@davidaix5771 I know about all of that. Who says it’s not a truck??? You?? Who are you??? I think that it’s a great truck. It’s overpriced, but in reliability, it will beat any of what you consider a truck hands down. I know about the chassis, I know about the engine, I know about the transmission, I know about the interior. It’s exactly the same as my wife’s Passport and her Passport is a damn good vehicle. So is that Ridgeline TRUCK. Go troll elsewhere. You must have a really big truck. My wife says, “the bigger the truck, the smaller the penis”. Go away, you bother me.
I've got 245,000 miles on my 06 RTL, and it's still a great truck. The first generation Ridgelines, while classified as a unibody, have a full perimeter frame - it just happens to be solidly welded to the body. I don't have much use for a truck designed to tow 15,000 lbs, or put 3,000 in the bed, but I've regularly had 1200 in the bed and have towed 3500 with no issues other than reduced mileage. The AWD (Honda called it 4WD on the 1st generation trucks) works surprisingly well, and I've gone further offroad than people expect. It's not a rock crawler, but it's not going to tip over - it's the widest truck, with the lowest center of gravity in it's class.
Thank you for showing me my first work truck. I do have a 2019 manual k20c2 manual, got that engine because your recommendation on “the only civic you should buy.

Dude...thank you. Just bought a Honda Ridgeline RTL...wow. Blown away. What a ridiculously nice truck.

Good to see everyone reporting high miles and no problems!

Picking up a 2021 black edition today used 20k miles …7yr 100k cpo warranty …drives awesome…..

There have been a few minor things:
I had to replace the pulleys in the back that are part of the lift mechanism for the back seats.
I got an 09 they are the best!! Can't wait to show my wife this video! Thanks scotty !!

Which trim? I'm thinking about buy one.
2014 sport. Everytime we go on a trip we love it more.
Glad I didn't listen to your previous opinions on my 2008 model. Excellent machine with over 200K.
Love my 06 ridgeline, just turned 100,000 last month
You're just getting started....
Had my 06 for 16 years, 240,000 miles. Sold it to a young airmen who fixed it up and it’s still going. Unfortunately my 2019 got smashed by the hurricane but I plan on getting another one. Great for towing and home repair center runs.
Have you ever had a valve adjustment on your ridgeline?
No. Never felt it was needed.
@scottschreiber6008 I was just curious I really don't want to get one so I'm asking other ridgeline owners with high mileage if they ever had it done and most say no
Don’t blame you. It’s expensive from the dealership
My 2006 Ridgeline has 231,000 miles. Minimum maintenance. Best truck I have had.
Sold a 245k mile vehicle to your daughter? Jeez dad give the kid a break.
@@mharmon8883 Sold it for a dollar.
And that was the first one with 100k miles.
Ok just making sure us dads stay in line. 😂
Have you ever had a valve adjustment on your ridgeline?
would you mind telling us how much you paid to have the timing belt replaced, i just bought a 2013 ridgeline with 100k miles
My dad has an 06 with 365k and all he’s had to do is 3 timing belts and 1 rear main seal and still Running solid! Just a couple of brake jobs and timely oil changes.
Have you ever had a valve adjustment on your ridgeline?
That droopy headliner made me laugh and reminisce about my time selling cars. If your trade had a drooping headliner, I explained to the sales manager that it was an ear warmer. Massive hail damage? Just some hard water spots. Smashed front end? I told him the detail shop could buff it out.
I have a 2020 Ridgeline AWD I love it. Previously had a Chevy Silvarado and before that a Ford F150 and the owner of three Honda Accords the past 30 years.
I love my 06 Ridgeline with 78k miles on it. I change trans oil every year, great $40 piece of mind. Best car I have ever owned!

The trunk.
Watch scotties videos on lacquer thinner for that code.
Have you ever had a valve adjustment on your ridgeline?
My '06 is great. I have an RTL with 189,000. I've had it for the last 8 years since 2023. Right now I had the undercoating done by Honda. Great truck
going to see a 06 this week, any tips on what to look out for?
My 06’ has 350,000 miles on it and still going strong! Does everything I need a truck to do!!
Ever change the transmission fluid or still original
Have you ever had a valve adjustment on your ridgeline?
I had a big Titan and liked it. But, we bought a house that has a garage that was 3" too small for the Titan to fit inside. So, I sold it and bought a 2012 Ridgleline RTL. (17" shorter)
I’ve had an 2008 and a 2011. Absolutely heinous on fuel but I loved them both. Great pickups.
Literally my only real knock on mine. 09 150k miles I get like 15mpg maybe 17 if I'm lucky
Yeah crazy … I didn’t do my homework I just assumed because it’s a Honda that it would get great mileage
It’s a truck that gets 19mpg at 75mph. That’s good. If you’re getting worse mileage try replacing the air cleaner and then spark plugs.
@@jefsel881 yeah… and probably half that with city driving.
@@jbmemphis2151 my 97 yukon gets 16mpg.
What exactly are you doing to get such Terrible mileage? I have a Bullbar on my front end too!
Very well engineered vehicle.
going to see a 06 this week, any tips on what to look out for?

Because of your Honda truck reviews I'm going to check them out.
I think they’re totally underrated truck. I love Honda.
Overated!
@@Nightwish1773 “Honda Ridgeline is not a truck” OVERSTATED
It is a tough midsized truck. Front wheel drive is just one of Honda’s great decisions on its design. The rear is a locker for huge utility if stuck. It’s great on snow and ice without using 4WD. That alone blows all other trucks out of the competition. It lasts forever outside of the rustbelt. Has great options like a dual open tailgate. A lockable trunk under the bed.
I’d rather buy the worst Honda than the best Hyundai. Still better than that Korean plastic garbage.
You are absolutely right Scotty. I own Four Honda vehicles including a Ridgeline. By the Way! I like your John Lennon Rose Colored Glasses !

Yep
tHanks for the comment...I'm new to the Ridgeline....(also 2006)....didn't know about a recall. tHanks again.

My favorite pickup truck ever. The Honda Ridgeline.
Bought my 2008 Ridgeline when it was 3 years old, owned it for 12 years. Recently sold it, cause I replaced it with the new 2022 version. :)
Just got a 2011 😊
Owned Honda for over 40+ years. LOL

Thanks for posting, Scotty. My 2011 Ridgeline was made in Alabama. The first generation Ridgeline came in AWD only. Replace the timing belt on this interference engine every seven years or 110,000 miles, whichever comes first.
