What are your 2022 New Year’s Resolutions, and what was your favorite manga read of 2021?
For those wondering, I technically have more manga than shown, but I plan to sell some of those series, so I didn’t really count/show them for this video👍🏼
Not a new years resolution more of a goal and that is to collect all of the Rave Master manga, and to answer your question my favorite Manga that ive read in 2021 and since its ongoing its continuing to 2022 and that is Edens Zero

@@WolfManga yes Rave and Edens Zero are done by the Fairy Tail creator, Rave Master was his first manga and I think its a masterpiece. I do recommend it but however the physicals are out of print but there are Digital releases if you dont want read scans. Edens Zero is amazing alot of people sleep on it because of Fairy Tail bias, Fairy Tail has horrible writing since Mashima didnt plan the writing, something he did for Rave and Edens Zero. If you want to dive into a manga by Hiro Mashima I suggest Rave and Edens Zero since they have better writing and also they dont have as much fanservice if you arent a fan of that. Edens Zero as of now has 172 chapters and 18 volumes in japan (covers 1-158) and 14 in english comes out the 1/4/22 (Sorry for the long reply got a bit ahead of myself but yeah if you enjoy Action Shonen, Rave and Edens Zero are right up your alley)

if your after dark fantasy, then made in abyss is (probably) for you. it has amazing art and an amazing world and even the characters are really enjoyable to watch, the reason I said probably is because of some of the content in it which is.. well... kinda sus, I suppose. but its really good and I still recommend it fully

Favorite manga I read in 2021 (and continue into 2022) is Wotakoi. Probably my favorite romance comedy and definitely recommend for when you're in a mood to read something light hearted. The anime is also a solid intro to the cast and will help transition you to the manga.

Happy New Years! I’m currently reading Rise of the Shield Hero the manga companion. Definitely about to start Vinland Saga! I also just want to recommend Blade of the immortals. Really digging the channel and can’t wait to see what’s to come of this new year!

It's crazy how Tokyo Ghoul is an entry series for so many people. It was also the first manga that I've read and owned physically for me. Also regarding Tokyo Ghoul re, I think it's still a great sequel even tho it can't quite reach the greatness of the original. That being said I think the peak of the story is definitely the second half of the original and the first part of re.

It makes me so happy to see “I had that same dream again” on someone else’s shelf. That’s a manga I recommend to people who aren’t into manga and want a good read. The story and the way it makes your brain question everything, ugh, chefs kiss.

Deadman wonderland I really want to collect but the front cover for the first one kind of ruined it for me. My favourite manga of 2021 and continuing to collect is assassination classroom! It’s so funny in my opinion just seeing the teacher being shot in the middle of class and just acting so casual about it 😂

My favorite series for 2021 that I jumped on waaay to late, and that’s JoJo’s bizarre adventure! Close seconds were Blue Giant, and To your Eternity. Soon I’m binging Vinland Saga 1-12! Btw, great collection bro!
idk the price difference in USD between Berserk deluxe and the singles but in canada the singles are $20 and the deluxe are $66, so each "volume" being $2 extra is nothing really. Better quality paper, oversized panels, and fx translations, and hard cover. 100% worth

My favourite Junji ito work is The Enigma of Amigara Fault, it is a one shot that is compiled in the GYO deluxe edition and Venus in the Blind Spot
very nice collection! yona of the dawn is my all time fav manga series and while i think the anime is nice, it only covers ~8 vols and i wouldn’t say it does the manga justice story wise since it gets better and better as you read imo. the art in the manga is also much better! i rec watching the anime, and if you like it (even a little), consider continuing the manga from where the anime left off:) very fun-to-read action/fantasy with comedy, drama/tragedy, and slow-burn romance mixed in! it’s a very lengthy shoujo series but i think if you give it a chance, it’s well worth it 😄
i found another yona of the dawn lover!! i'm only on volume 9 because i plan on reading it with the physical copies, but besides that, i honestly think it has got to be in my top 3

Would totally recommend you watch Blue Period’s anime. This was one of the first times where I’ve seen an anime build on a manga instead of the other way around. Definitely worth a watch while you wait for vol 2-3.

My best read in 2021 was probably dorohedoro. It's a fun read, many good characters, have one of the best protagonist in my opinion, and have a good mystery. Also it is a series that keeps you want to read because of the way the mystery being revealed in the series little by little.
Also it's a crazy manga, As in CRAZY.
Based on your interests that you talked about, I definitely recommend Hell’s Paradise. It’s very dark and violent with an interesting plot. Chainsaw Man is also great!
My personal favorite read of 2021 was Jujutsu Kaisen.
My favorite reads for 2021 was Gundam thunderbolt, drifting dragons, and ragna Crimson.

Usually I first watch the anime adaptations and after that read the manga. Even if I already know the plot I still enjoy reading the story

I envy you for that Claymore boxset. Seems they're out of print now, now that all sites have delisted it from their websites. Which makes no sense since they reprinted all the volumes the last 2 months. Fucking blows man.

My favorite junji ito work and manga of all time as of right now is no longer human which is an adaptation of Osumu Dazais novel “No Longer Human” highly recommend it. It’s not for the feint of heart though probably the saddest story I’ve ever read
My favorite series was Tokyo Pop’s deluxe reissue of Aria. However, the last volume of 20th Century Boys, called 21st Century Boys, finishing that epic storyline.

My NY resolution related to manga is avoiding long SJ series in favor of reading on the App so im selling my MHA/JJK/PNL. Want to be more intentional with what i do get going forward in favor of series i can't read on the App (except One Piece, once those boxsets finally restock). Golden Kamuy was my series ive been enjoying this year and also starting Berserk.

@@WolfManga Nice part is the manga market is crazy right now so people gladly pay retail for complete sets. Golden Kamuy is a great seinin series definitely recommend if you can find the early volumes. Got deluxe 1-4 of berserk so its time to dive in.
