- It's been 2 years since my first collection video, so I figured it was time for an update.
Sorry for any quality issues, this is honestly a very low effort video recorded from my phone that I'll be cringing at a couple months (if not days) from now. But nonetheless I hope you enjoyed the video and I get to talk to you about manga/anime in the comments below!

I usually just breeze through collection vids because people usually have almost carbon copy collections. It’s been some time since I enjoyed a collection video, and I throughly enjoyed yours. Great collection!
The best thing about manga is there are so many different genres and demographics to experience! I definitely feel like I still lack some diversity in shojo and josei (not even sure if I own a single josei manga actually?) I also want to try and get a lot more short-form / one-shot series in the future
By carbon copies do you mean generally the same series? Because I would have to agree lol.
@@Kymmru The Josei I greatly enjoyed was Princess Jellyfish 😃 Ossan Idol! is also really enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend those two.

I may potentially, perhaps, possibly make recommendation/analysis videos, one day. Can't promise anything though lol. I don't know how to edit even a tiny bit right now and there are a couple other things that make me hesitant, but if I ever get the motivation I'd say one of those two things are the most likely things I'd upload. Definitely recommend adding Solo Leveling to the collection! Both the manhwa and the light novels are amazing!
I've been hearing a lot about Solo Leveling! I've always thought though that it was a webtoon? How is a webtoon published in a volume format?
@@Kymmru I never read it as a webtoon so I can't speak specifically as to how it translated directly, but I can say that, having read it as a manhwa and light novel, it became my absolute favorite series to read of all time and has me anticipating every new volume release
@@Kymmru the webtoon is expensive to buy in graphic form because it's all in color, but honestly the quality is pretty good. I started reading that and the light novel at the same time, but the light novel is way ahead. I kinda dropped the manhwa because it's so behind and kept on with the light novel. It's definitely worth a read in my opinion and probably my favorite current series.

Viz really need to give Vagabond the darkhorse deluxe treatment. I havent bought Vagabond because its 3in1 paperbacks and ive heard really bad thing like whats in this video.
Truly. I would love viz to release them in hardcover. It's a series that deserves it, whether or not it remains incomplete

Thank you! I should have been more specific, I meant the Japanese serialization There's still quite a bit left to be published in English, but where the stories at currently (Ch 219) I don't see the series being serialized for another year

Definitely want to collect 20th century boys, Parasyte, Magi, dragon ball, and the big 3 still
Well when it comes to shelving, those are the IKEA billy cases. Definitely recommend. Don't get the knock off Walmart, target or whatever ones. The Billy's are still relatively affordable and they're a lot more sturdy and fit a lot more. So even if you have limited room I'd recommend getting at least one cause you can double stack and what not

Honestly a great value. Speaking of Akira though its been years since ive read it, maybe i should add re-reading Akira on my to read list

I definitely plan to eventually! I gotta admit though, collecting LNs is my weak point, reading them even more so. I try to read everything I collect, although I fall behind at times, but man I've only read like 3 volumes or so of the LNs I've collected. I just tend to collect volumes from Anime series that I like or series that I really want to get into.

I know it's a late reply, but to be honest with you my collection hasn't grown too much. I moved out of my parent's house nearly half a year ago now and I have no room in my apartment and not a lot of budget to spare. I'd definitely like to complete all the series i started collecting though and the series that i like is always expanding
Nice collection. I’ve been building my collection since the 80s, for example I have multiple iterations of Lone Wolf And Cub and original Epic/Marvel Akira. My collection is around 5 to 6 times yours in size so if you need any recommendations based on what you already have, let me know.

@@Kymmru thanks for asking…just off the bat I see you have Lone Wolf and Cub. The same duo of creators also made Samurai Executioner and Path Of The Assassin. Both are worth having. I’ll look at some other possible series for you.
I've gotten DBZ in vizbig format, and only one fell apart on me, because I left it in the car on a hot day when I was eating lunch, (luckily b&n let me exchange it for a new one), but never had that happen otherwise. I live in the SoCal though, so as long as your house is at an okay temp, the books are generally fine.
Since my experience has been mostly good, I plan on getting Dragon Ball in vizbig at *some* point, and I may also be interested in Inuyasha and Vagabond as well, but that's a bridge I'll cross when I get there

I looked up manga collections and saw the fate movies and it intrigued me more then the manga if you see this comment can you tell me where I can buy those fate things the exact ones you have with Zero, UBW and Heavens Feel I’m a huge fan of the series and was bummed out there was no manga for me to collect so I would love to buy the blue rays to display on my shelf.

I've been reading Black Clover online! i'm about 10-20 chapters behind currently, but I'm more or less up to date. there's just a few series i held off from collecting hoping thered be a box set to save a lil bit of money

this is amazing there is so much but i currently have all of Tokyo ghoul and re,dragon ball z and super, monster, vinland saga vagabond up to 37!and berserk, and slam dunk ,real ,jjba up to part 6, 4 full one piece set and i have about 20 more full manga and 9 uncompleted ill stop here because it costs alot of cash

The creator of blade of the immortal went out his way to fix the text and art for English reader’s so that’s why the English version is like that because he thought it would be easier for us but the fax he went out his way to the US like he did is some goat level shit
Nope. Blade of the Immortal's author didn't want his series mirrored at all, but Dark Horse insisted on a left-to-right format. So they cut and pasted the panels in reverse order, but that brings out continuity issues. In the actual manga volume is says "Most of blade of the immortal has been produced using the cut and paste technique. There are of course some sequences where it was impossible to do this and mirror-imaged panels or pages were used" Those panels and pages stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Seeing weapons somehow teleport to different hands. Wounds appear on the other side. Ect

Right. I think it was silly back then and still do now. I was mainly complaining that Dark Horse rereleased this series twice, as an omnibus and a deluxe edition, without bothering to fix anything. Just ends up seeming like a low effort cash grab to mw
@@Kymmru I have the deluxe editions and it says in there that the author requested they be cut and pasted instead of mirrored. But yeah these deluxe editions were the perfect time for them to release them the original way.

Damnnn I just bought 1-9 of the DBZ VizBigs cuz I couldn’t find single volumes, hopefully mine don’t fall apart like that
I wish you the best. It definitely sucks when it happens. If you look at your volumes and gently open them, you can usually tell if they'll fall apart or not. A lot of the volumes that fall apart have spines that are already separated from the pages
The Dragonball ones are totally fine. Idk what the hell happened to quality control after those.

Lol ya. 2 years ago I was optimistic cause he was only on hiatus for about a year and that was about his average. Write 10 chapters, take a year break. But now it's been over 3 lol. I think he'll eventually come back to write at least 10 more cause he did say the storyboards were done
Thoughts on Berserk coming back?
Ancient reply, I know, but I've been absolutely loving it. The fact the current author was Kentarou Miura's friend is perfect, and it's been feeling like a perfect continuation. If i had any complaints so far though, it definitely seems like they could use slightly more dialogue? the most recent chapters seem to be correcting that issue, but as the series continues in the long term we shall see.
Ah i wish my collection is this big. After 6 years of collecting, i have around 270 or so volumes. Well i do collect only what i really want and thanks to fcking Covid i am unenployed, so that complicates things.

Yup! theres 20th century boys 1-11 in the perfect edition, and then 21st century boys which is the epilogue of the series. been like 5 years since ive read it, if not longer, but its a phenomenal read

They are the little extras that come with the One Piece boxsets. 3 posters, and 3 little volumes. One is the One Piece Prototype, one is the prequel to strong world, and the last one is some one piece x toriko and one piece x dbz crossover

What are your opinions on Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re?
It's been quite awhile since Ive read Tokyo Ghoul, but I remember thoroughly liking it till the end. As for :re, I read it weekly for the first 10-20 chapters and ended up dropping it waiting for more chapters to come out to binge it and never got around to picking it back up
@@Kymmru Tokyo Ghoul:re is (in my opinion) better in almost every way. The art and development gets a boost in quality and even though the first couple volumes may not make a whole bunch of sense at first, everything comes together almost perfectly. Definitely caught me off guard with how much I enjoyed it and I strongly recommend picking it back up if you get the chance, because it really is a fantastic series

Yeah.... I started collecting it over 5 years ago. Like when volume 2 was the newest volume and thought "this seems like it may be interesting, I'll just collect it as the volumes come out". Now over 5 years later I'm judging a book by its cover and thinking its gonna be too edgy without a lot of substance. I should really give it a try though considering I have it and younger me thought I was gonna enjoy it

Haven't read the manga, but I'm sure that's true. Most manga whose source material is a light novel usually turns out pretty mid to downright bad, in my experience
