I watched this live. It was absolutely world class umpiring from Eva Asderaki. Few umpires would have overruled so many calls given the occasion, grand slam final contested by 2 of the biggest names in men’s tennis. She was cool, calm and composed. What’s most impressive is that she got all the calls right the entire match 💯
Your comments kind of reminds me of what people say in defense of Serena Williams. A lot of umpires don’t step in when they should with the big names of either side of the sport.
Being this accurate in a final is *very* good. We know how some matches have been determined by poor calls and controversy with challenges and whatever else. The fact that she was able to keep everyone's focus on the match and not on the calls... It's a quiet job, but definitely impressive.
Actually, because of how machine-like accurate she was, everytime there was a challenge I was like "bro, you really will go there? there aint a man or woman on the umpire, that is freakin T-X sitting there, your challenge has no chance" - I definitely noticed the calls MUCH MORE because her confidence and accuracy was admirable to say the least.
What i like about this umpire is the bravery she showed even when the linesman seemed to be in doubt. She called it right away, in/out, not thinking about the consequences of her calls. That's good. Many umpires now like to depend on linesman, that they'd never correct a call even though the linesman call is wrong.

I agree it is kind of neat seeing a replay of a close call and watching the extra zoom when the ball is within milimeters of the line, but I prefer to see drama created between the players themselves, not drama created by a line judge failing to make an out call when the ball is 5 inches past the baseline.
