This is a gold mine. Mo is one of the best umpires around and arguably the biggest personality in the chair. Nadal said this year that losing the ballboys, linesmen, and ballboys on court would diminish the sport's aura, and Mohamed Lahyani is a shining example of the positive addition these non-player entities have to the game of tennis.
@@younglord3432 he probably has Swedish passport then he's a Swedish not a Morrocan, a well known tennis player, Alexander Zverev's brother Mischa Zverev who ranked as high as number 29 one time, was born in Moscow, but he's a German, not a Russian anymore. Moroccans are way excluded in that mixology , they generically look like the people from middle east or native north africaans ( berbers) whom Mohamed is from. So i'll definitely agree he's swedish 🙃
My favourite umpire on the ATP tour. I got to see him at Wimbledon (and yes he did make a few corrections). Thank you Tennis TV for making a video about him.
He is the best and loveliest umpiere in the tour. We are so happy to have him. The players also can be happy for him. He always laughs so friendly. We hope, he will be on court for long time. 👍🎾😀🙏
I'll never forget being in the stands for Montreal 2017 when he was losing his voice. Every other score sounded like a question, rising at the end. The crowd really feeds off of his energy.
Really happy this video as out there. Great guy. Great umpire. Keeps his sense of humor as well. I can see why players love him. He truly loves the sport and the players.
What not to like about him? He injects the fun, the joy, the personality and the excitement to a job that sometimes audience forget that even exists in the court. He made some great calls and some not-so-great ones but that is tennis. Nothing is perfect. Appreciate a talent that doesn't even hit any balls in court.
As far as I can remember Lahyani has always been nice and smiling. Seeing him officiating one of the major finals always warms our hearts. Tennis TV thanks for recognising the immense contribution that these on court non players make to take the sport of tennis to new heights.

Wow, never seen Lahyani with full hair. The very first clip with Sampras really shocked me. He has been on the tour for a really long time. He is one of the few umpires who care about the players. I remember when he supported Kyrgios and invited him to play better, but not as a judge or a coach, but as a person who cared about the player. Like in the video when he advised Djokovic to change his racket because he broke his strings. He likes his work and always has a smile. My favorite umpire on tour.
