Tennis rules might be slightly different between different organizations, but generally it is written " It’s the umpire’s job to help control a rowdy crowd". So if the umpire does not do his duty, he is either incompetent, lazy, hostile to Novak, and/or fan of Novak's opponent.
In every case, not only the offender should be evicted from the court, but definately this umpire should be relieved of official duties at tennis court, so he can join the spectators and cheer from the public.

Well... quite a few elements in the crowd being really rude with Djoko. The Umpire did... nothing. What is there for in the first place?
Australia might be a land of some primitive behaviour when it comes to health hysteria and when it allows at an event like this that people in the audience can have a green light to shout whatever it comes to their minds... It's all "part of the show" has limits" and the umpire has responsibility in it.
Now... the young Couacaud, that was smiling and enjoying whatever the elements of the crowd where shouting at Djokovic... he has his own time to learn ethics (if he ever comes even close to be a top 10 which is speculative).
And about the fact that Couacaud snatched a set from a top player???... It equals nothing.... in particular when Djokovic (despite the insults of the audience elements) is in such a control of the game... that wipes Couacaud's bottom with 6-2 and 6-0...

If he was the one with a realistic chance of winning a couple of million and also to post another win to an already glorious record, then he might not think it was funny.
This was a chance for the audience to see one of the best players ever, doing his job.
If they wanted to listen to a drunk spouting off they could go into any old city center on a Saturday night.
The way the tournament allowed it to go on for so long made them look like amateurs.
Surely even a College tournament would not have allowed such a thing to continue?
      Disgraceful.

I don't know how, but these type of people forget that this behaviour of the hostile crowd makes Novak thrive, and play even better, out of spite, which is a almost a signature trait of the Serbian people.
He's been doing it for years at AO, US open, Wimbledon, and out of all players Novak is perhaps the most accustomed one to the hostile rowdy crowd.
It boggles me really, how Australian crowd didn't learn to respect the 9 time champion (soon to be 10), but if he was Federer they'd build him a monument in front of the court.
