This spoon is design to be used for spices. It's made using local Texas walnut. I finished the spoon using mineral oil.

Thanks for tuning in!
My four year old daughter loved the project video! In other news, I am now being told I need to make a wooden spoon for my daughters kitchen set...
This is made up to garner favour from op
Andy, Great work as usual. Im glad you got the shop dried out, I hòpe you didnt loose anything from the flood. God Bless
this may be a old video but only now being put out to us.
Loved it. Nice and calming watch as well.
These videos are like therapy for me. Thanks
Beautiful work Andy. That piece of wood had some awesome grain to it. Love your videos
So peaceful!!
Beautiful
Thanks for letting us watch!
good to see the shop is dryer!

Dean Forth lol
Dean Forth 100%
Agreed and I'm not at all ashamed to admit i have a wood making/crafting fetish
Incredible! Love watching your work.
how do you care for these utensils? can you put them in the dishwasher or do you need to hand wash?
This is very satisfying
Those tables in the beginning are beautifully simple
The table in the opener is wonderful ! I have some slack time coming (in retirement) and think I will make some spoons out of Arbutus. Beauty wood so I may not want to use them. Thanks a bunch Andy. Love your hand work for sure. Really nice video on this. You make it look soooo easy fella ! My grandads spoke shave will love making these.
What tool do you use the most over any other tool?
what do you use to make it shine at the end???
I love it!!
Nice one!
Fantástico Andy👌👍👍
Love the carving videos!
What kind of gouges did you use?
Excelentes todos tus trabajos, saludos desde Chile.
Very nice.
What kind of oil did you use for this?
Hey Andy! Could you do a tool video (series?) for beginners, explaining tools and maybe showing how to handle them?
Nice work! I have a question you always do such a good job on your projects and getting the shape right. Do you ever cut way to much off of what your working on and have to start over?
Veri well!
I like how you left the top of the handle flat nice touch
What could be use alternatively if you don't have a draw knife?
Love it, You don't even need a practical reason for a hand carved spoon. You just want it!
Which mineral oil you use?
Im in a wood shop class in high school and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what i should make
I never knew there were so many tools that did so many things!!!
2:58 I have never seen someone look so upset while making such a small spoon
Is there anyway you could show us how to carve a small canoe from a tree branch? It’s something I’ve tried with limited tools (mainly my pocket knives of assorted sizes and blade shapes) and I just can’t seem to get it done right. I would love seeing someone like you do it.
That actually sounds like a fun project im going to attempt right now.
VideosUnrelated it is quite fun. I just didn’t have any gouges to get the inside carved out. Since I’ve left for college, my younger brother actually got a small gouge set from a family friend. I can’t wait to go home and try with that.
I know how you feel, It took me years to get proper set of chisels. [actually still buying the "set"] at 50+ dollars a chisel it isn't easy. pfeil is the only "professional" brand I can get locally. I can buy lower quality ones, but I buy a single chisel maybe once a month, eventually ill have all I need.
I bet this would fall under Chef John's (foodwishes) category of freakishly small wooden spoons!
I honestly get annoyed how good you are. Damn. Congrats
What kind of boots do you wear?
Love me some walnut
You really make my day
thank u
You didn't quite seem yourself in this video Andy. You looked a bit fed up mate. Keep your pecker up as we say in England, but I know it means something else in the States! 👍🇬🇧
Big Ben it's because his shop flooded and everything was ruined
I love these styles of videos! Your inspiring me to become a carpenter!
Nice job I like your spoon carving videos did you use butcher block oil I used that on a spatula I just made it turned out nice but I'm struggling to find a finish that will hold up to heat for stiring soups I tried bees wax mineral oil mix and it simply melted off if you have ideas I would like to hear it or see a video on it different food grade finishes and what can be done with the products after finishing thanks
Hey! Andy I was wondering how do you sharpen your chisels like those ones? I’m not sure how to properly sharpen my rounded ones like that one your using in the video. If anyone else can give me advice on how please let me know thank you! I love you videos!
puedo preguntar conde quedaron esos buenos proyectos?
I think I like these videos a little too much
How do u start off doing something like this with your life??? This would be awesome!
Hey! You have very cool ring, it’s wood? Maybe you have video how you made it?)
Cool
I never knew I could crave a spoon before.
We're do you get your wood from
Do you do any wood turning?
Are you selling spoons on your site?
Andy, what do you use to burnish your scrapers? I’ve had mixed results using the Veritas, and have tried carbide rods as well. Curious how you do them, seems like you have better results than most I’ve seen.
Is that mineral oil?
Makes it look so easy.. I struggle sharpening a pencil with a knife 😂
Andy - cool spoon and made with hand tools. How did feel not using power tools?
I love your videos!
Sou brasileiro e gosto muito de seus vídeos
Any particular reason you used a giant hand saw to cut out the tiny spoon lol
You should do the same thing but with a big spoon with a big handle
*_Purdy_*_ _*_!!!_*
Hey you could make a wooden prosthesis (those old guys) but with articulated parts?, you know to move your fingers and grab something (the one of an articulated toy) would be an interesting project
Muito bonita.

Andy, what are you doing with it, it's so beautiful?🤩 ( Sorry for my English)
U should make a wood ring
What happened.. I was in the middle of watching the comb video and it was removed by user
2:16-2:20 looks like stop motion animation
This doesn't relate to this project much, but does anyone know how exactly his clamps work? the ones he hammers into place through the work table to be exact.
It's hard to explain. The object makes the part that's in the table press to the sides when it is hammered down so it's friction

Great job as usual, Andy!
But we want more bigger projects :)
Hello! Why you don’t use a Russian tools «ложкорез» for this goal?

herramientas pequeñas para cosas pequeñas .... NO herramientas grandes para cosas pequeñas.

I am not a woodworker but I know you are never supposed to draw a knife towards yourself. Doing so can easily result in something you will regret.
I'm a bit late for this comment, but that's absolutely not true. Professional carvers do it all the time. If you're not experienced and don't know what you're doing then yes, don't do it.
There are tons of techniques to cut towards yourself in a safe and controlled manner, and they're often more useful than cutting away from yourself.
Trying to get first coment
Who else is worried about he cutting himself in half with drawknife 😅😅
Most drawknife injuries are to the knee, and Andy ain't that stupid lol
Tryin to cut your lungs out jim
