Hello Mr Desai, Final notification should be very soon on RBI site. See, SGBs are not backed by real gold, which makes them risky as they now make up 17% of India’s gold reserves. Gold prices have almost doubled since 2019, increasing the government’s costs for older SGBs sold at lower prices. On top of that, the fixed 2.5% yearly interest adds to the expense, making SGBs costlier. I think, to reduce these risks, the government is taking time to decide on future SGB issues.
