Shoutout to that kid in 2014 who dropped an entire glass of Fanta on my Sun Titan. I never removed it from the sleeve.
It's probably become one with the sleeve now.
Absolutly@@8thPlaceDave I bought another one but kept it because you dont see a Red Sun Titan Everyday.
The Fanta or the Sun Titan?
@@livejapan They became one pretty much.
Sorry and you're welcome
all water spilled was immediately donated to the nearest Hashep Oasis
The deck with the double face cards and NO sleeves really got me. Along with the not fully tapping cards. Full 90 degrees people.
I look down at the board and feel like a serial killer because all my permanents are either perfectly untapped or perfectly tapped while all my opponents have shit so wonky you'd think it's Willy. Surely if I'm the only one who cares about things being tapped or untapped neatly *I* must be the serial killer, right?
Not according to Arena!
I would never have unsleeved double face cards...
Idk about full 90 but your opponents should never have to ask what's tapped and what's untapped. A board state needs to be readable
Somehow not swinging with llanowar elves is the most infuriating part of this video.
Playing around a dashed ragavan :)
Theres a player at my lgs who has mega beef with blue players and ima start using the "in response untap, upkeep, draw" to mess with him.
Are you telling me there is a Magic player who hasn't a mega beef with blue players? I mean, I guess that blue players are able to tolerate each other a bit, but beyond that...
Bro, "In response: untap, upkeep, draw" got me good.
Kinda wish it said “upkeep, untap, draw” instead. Just to add one more layer of tilt 😂
As an old school player from 94,that's the annoying sequence I teach kids in our house...😂
the piece of tape over the top loader with the unsleeved card... I am absolutely livid
You forgot people asking to read a card and immediately handing back to you and saying “thats too much text”
And when they return the card they read, it ends up covered in grease and Cheeto dust.
TBF, cards do have too much tesx nowadays.
Commons get keywords, uncommons get keywords and a paragraph, rares are a short story, and mythics....
@@Nersius And don’t even get me started on the yugioh cards…
How about when after they hand it back they ask to read it again
If you tap lands please fully tap your lands. Nothing is more tilting than trying to figure out which of the slight 5 degree turns indicates that you have spent that mana
When people I'm playing with do this, I simply remind them to tap their lands: "You didn't pay for that."
Arena disagrees
@@mountainghoti1671 Arena dims the tapped lands and places an arrow symbol over them. If you can do that with physical cards at a table, you're clearly a real magician.
@@JivanPal easy, put a smokey sleeve with an arrow on it over the Land instead of tapping it 🤣
@@alexanderbottcher7284 "Judge! Slow play!"
That disclaimer at the end was crucial. I got some anxiety when that cup fell lol.
The only thing that’s missing is counterspells [which are really just Lightning Bolt.]
I felt my blood pressure rise while watching this lol
"oh not again"
*Immediately drops his hand into the water*
This is how kids in the 90s played magic lmao
Unprotected cards scraping across steel bleachers in P.E.
@@vinnylashley7394 Playing outside on the concrete.
I can confirm.
@@christopherlundgren1700 Playing on sticky gross tables at fast food places, Dennys, Wafflehouse and IHOP LOL
No, I already had a few penny sleeves back then, not for my deck, but at least for some of my cards :D
For me, it's the mix of cards pointing up and down
Knowing someone who actually plays with his board cluttered like that and the Library just off somewhere in the middle of it all... yeah this video is accurate.
I once one-shotted a friend early on in a 5-player commander game. He had a creature to block, but no, that was his graveyard in the middle of the playmat. He was pissed, but I don't know what he was expecting.
Putting lands in front, creatures in back.
Tapping a card repeatedly to point out an effect.
Lands in front and creatures in back is old school Magic. I love all the newbs that started playing 2015-2019 that get mad about it. Some of us have been playing Magic longer than you’ve been alive (not this comment in general just the people who get mad about it), and the way and style we play or played for many years, is ritual. I don’t care what WOTC says. I don’t play Pro Tour events or RCQ’s for this reason. So many babies bitch about it.
The extra land drop tilts me so hard
Surprised it wasn't someone badly riffle shuffling their opponents vintage deck (actually caught on camera a few years back).
Definitely guitly of looking at tcgplayer while in a game
This video made me scream three separate times so that means you did a great job.
oh my god the tape on the toploader got me. everything else i could brush off
I feel like a lot of people have a beef with using spindowns for starting dicerolls. For me, feels just as random as an actual random die, so I never really get the sentiment.
I swear by two D6. To me there is just no other way.
If you practice with it, you can roll a spindown in such a way that it kinda curls off your finger and you are more likely to land in the 16-20 region of the shape since they're all next to each other. This can be mitigated by shaking it around sufficiently in a closed fist like almost everyone does when they roll a die.
@@YourPalJamieEllis I don't think this is that deep when playing casual. If you are playing with cheaters, that's on you.
There are regular w20 that are unsorted. The spindowns are sorted. I have a random d20 for random dice rolling
taping a card in a toploader was such an unnecessary extra kick in the balls lol
The shuffling of MDFCs with other cards pisses me off so much, i have played multiple commander games with folks who bust out a deck with MDFC cards AND TRANSPARENT SLEEVES like NO that is NOT ACCEPTABLE in your TOVALAR WEREWOLVES DECK but i cant HARSH the VIBE by asking them to go buy proper sleeves so i just have to grin and find an excuse to leave
Luckily, the Balance was already cheesy enough to not be affected.
That’s how we used to play in the 90s. I’m not kidding. I played plenty of games with unsleeved cards on a cafeteria table at our university, while eating and drinking. Nowadays you trigger someone if so much as touch a basic land out of a sleeve with bare fingers, and I used to happily shuffle my Wheel of Fortune and beta Demonic tutor on my black red deck (Rakdos wasn’t a word back then). Okay, they’re worth a lot less today, but I had some fun. I could have not played with them (the only way to preserve them back then would be putting on a binder) and have it worth more today, but you know what? I regret nothing.
Condition only matters if you ever plan on selling. Even trading back then condition didn't matter so much as long as you got the cards you wanted. Now people cry foul if the centering isn't quite right on a pristine card.
I hate the constant hand shuffling shit lol. My friend does it all the time.
(Deeeeep inhale)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
EVERYTHING. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY SECOND OF THIS VIDEO MAKES ME VIOLENTLY ANGRY. Every card placed, every position of every card, every word, every motion, every sound; I could CRASH TH-cam'S COMMENT SECTION with the NOVELS I could write about everything that was WRONG with this video.
In other words, the title is about 217% accurate. THANKS, I HATE IT.
I could think of one worse - imagine, if you will, a video on the Hub in which someone performs "self love" and then "completes" said act onto an unsleeved, otherwise mint Black Lotus.
I love how at the beginning it is used a spindown dice instead of a normal d20, brilliant
Hyper ventilating at the spill lol
Therapist: "He's just a youtuber, he can't hurt you."
Well... 😢
You forgot about playing foreign-language cards and demanding that your opponent simply read the card when they don't recognize it. Especially if they're new to the game, it's an alt-art/alt-frame, or right after a new set released so they might not immediately recognize the name.
Citation - had a whiter-than-white guy get super-mad that I couldn't read Japanese, then tried to get me for "stalling" because he wouldn't tell me the name of the card so I could look it up.
Wizards doesn’t make it easy sometimes though. I have a cryptic command that just has the name and mana cost. I’m not sure who at wizards thought that card would be a good idea with no descriptor text.
Needed ecchi anime sleeves and the opponent asking if he could re do his first turn
Shoutout to my friend who gave me a Moulderhulk that was subjected to water splashing on it.
Also, getting the playmat wet was one that annoyed me more than it should
Man really just poured a drink on a fetch and a shock. My god.
I'm praying that those are proxies
I wasn't bothered until the Llanowar Elves got put in the same place as the lands, but I wasn't physically aggravated until the phone and drink hit the playmat.
I am so triggered right now, I can't even.
You must be affected by void winnower then.
In response to your trigger...
Honestly, a lot of this isn't annoying, it is against the rules.
You HAVE to use sleaves or an appropriate proxy for double-sided cards, as all cards must be i distinguishable when facedown (in library, morph, and similar).
You MUST have your cards as close to straight as you can reasonably make them when untapped, and visibly tilted when tapped.
You MUST have your lands and your other permanents separated (though there is no requirement for separating planeswalkers, enchantments, artifacts, or the like).
You MUST keep the play area clear, incuding drinks, notepads, writing instruments, or spare dice and tokens.
clear tape on top loader is the worst. It ruins the top loader, the adhesive will never come off. I’m an eBay seller and I know painters tape is the better option.
The ambiguous tapping of Sacred Foundry is what killed me here
That was extremely painful, impressive sir
There are no words on God's green earth to explain the excruciating pain and rage this video made me feel in the depths of my soul
you forgot when they point to your cards and poke it with their fingernails
I think I almost barfed at the first shuffle
I remember when I was like 8 playing magic with my brother and I accidentally spilled milk and it ruined so many of the cards lol.
I have two precons from dnd sleeveless and learning to riffle shuffling it. People get so tilted and upset at me. People have offered to buy me sleeves which I decline.
They feel great to play in my hands. Took out all cards over a toonie and replaced with commons and dollar rares.
I'm doing the same with the Mishra precon from Brother's War. In response to a buddy of mine doing so with the Urza precon 😆 it's a lot of fun, quite freeing
@@Rune3100 yeah. I come from playing poker, cribbage and other standard card pack games. Just feels right. Even though I've played 8 years of sleeved magic the gathering.
i was *viscerally angry* during this and hit my table at the water spill
My heart stopped when the water spills over shock+fetch 😢
Yeah I was mad the first 5 seconds of this video. How could you shuffle like that without sleeves!
Know a guy who got so fed up with this guy flicking his cards at a local yugioh tourney, after he won he passed his opp an opened container of super glue. Funniest shit I ever seen, didn't even get DQd.
A minor one that many could miss is putting a mana dork with lands.
The card flipping. I put those people in my "If I had super powers, they would make me a villain" list. Like. Straight up Homelander their ass.
i dont know why the unprompted “let me shuffle YOUR deck” as he’s already reached for it and undoubtedly creased all my cards is what gets me most.
The cup got me 💀
Just looks like a typical game at the FLGS with most players.
Viscerally Painful. Thanks 8thPlaceDave!
Ok was laughing hysterically at this until you moved your drink onto the battlefield. That is what got me. Good job
Missing skimpy anime girl playmat and deck turned at some weird angle.
I badly wanted to see that Balance get played. I have a casual deck that runs 4 of them!
That balance escaped a gruesome fate ngl.
I'm confused. Someone explain me why like flicking the cards in ur hands is 'annoying'. I've been doing it for years now and never had complaints
@@DerbyPorcelain idk everyone at GPS and at FNMs and regionals does it. lol
I was uncomfortable the entire video, good job
Bro I had a guy tap his mana dork and place it under his lands. I played a plaguecrafter thinking it would kill his commander and then i see him start his turn with his commander still there!
Yeah thats annoying
Imagine adding that cavern of soul that was used as a proxy in that video haha
forgot calling the five colours fire, water, tree, light and dark lol
Gosh, I'm so thankful this dude exists.
My playgroup is like this and it hurts.
The bending and overflicking when playing a card god, same people then get pissy that you wanna use the "moderately - heavily played" pricing on trades.
Uggggh those upside down cards in your hand 😭
Last week someone at my game store gat your fun on in Florida spilled a drink all over the field and the other guys deck was entirely messed up his deck was double sleeved but not the way you think he double sleeved the deck with bith sleeves going the same way
Wow that's unfortunate. What's the point of double sleeving, though, if the inner sleeve is facing the same direction as the outer sleeve?
@@8thPlaceDave I know right and the guy had some of the most expensive cards that magic has to offer too
Don’t forget to have foreign language cards in the deck too.
The sad thing is how true all of these are. Seen them all
The title is so real is painful😂
This video tightened my lower back. I'm too old for this s***
*Internal screams of agony and pain!!
Now this [fwips cards] is a great [fwips cards] video.
NO PLS DON'T FLICK THE CARDS IT HURTS
If those were proxies a lot of butt holes just got tight for no reason.
“In response, untap upkeep draw” was infuriating and the cup was so nerve wracking
Ah, fuck man. Watching this was exactly the kind of discomfort that rides the line and stays just enjoyable enough
Excellent ;)
AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! The Sacred Foundry and Verdant Catacombs!!!!! Why!?!?!
You have caused us physical pain, congratulations.
"in response" made me angry
Same in board games 😔
This is absolutely perfect, I’m furious.
The real infuriating thing here is the fr*nch bag of chips
My heart died when I saw the cup
Needs more outside
i used to keep my graveyard in front of me when i played Junk Reanimator. Good times :D
i didnt realize how much it would annoying people
you forgot mash shuffling without sleeves
Dem goldfish crumbs and drink 🫠
1:03 Allright, the rest of the video was funny, but this moment legitimately made my heart skip a beat.
;)
Thank god you bought all these proxies back in the day by accident 🤣
The eating noises are what got me. Eugh. 😖
In response, I will untap upkeep draw
This was actually the most fruatrating part of the video lol
The non sleeved player getting the extra land 😅
My opponents not playing lifegain counters = I’m not angry.
I really thought from the thumbnail you were gonna talk shit about the spiky plains, I was about to be very upset lol.
