    My favorite part about this skit is the Supreme Verdict in the graveyard, yet there are no creatures in any graveyards. Meaning he cast it on an empty board, only to get beat down by a Bloodbraid Elf

      My favorite is when I have no cards in hand going into my turn, topdeck a land and then not even play it, just so I have a card to bluff them with. Once had a guy at a prerelease thinking twice about swinging for lethal on me for fear of being hit with some instant speed boogeyman.

    • @aldenret
      @aldenret ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@madhattom891 oh yeah, thats also a classic. I once was flooding out heavily and was playing it off like i had drawn the perfect answer. I was holding three lands and was grinning as they started making their attacks. They hesitated and decided not to attack with their biggest thing, missing lethal.
      Next turn, i drew another land.

    I have a mantra: play control decks fast and aggro decks slow.
    As a control player, it's really easy to overthink and second-guess yourself. You want to go with your gut intuition, and so you play faster.
    As an aggro player, you want to slow down because you have a _lot_ more to think about than just swinging sideways. You need to be calculating your potential damage, the outs you have, statistics, all that; furthermore, you're setting the tempo of the game. So, be sure to slow down and think through your lines of play

    Serious Question:
    In a tournament setting, would you be allowed to "take back" tapping a land?
    Your opponent can't react to it because it's mana speed and no secret information is revealed, but it IS an action that changes the game state (you now have floating mana).

    • @1Shayz1
      @1Shayz1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a novice at mtg but afaik the proper way to cast a spell is that you announce the spell you are casting, THEN pay for it. This way you don't run into the issue of needing to untap a land.

    • @thaneofstuff7340
      @thaneofstuff7340 ปีที่แล้ว +1
