I'm curious about a second ring on templar. Usually use obsidian ring since it comes with both attack speed and CDR. However, you have arcstone equipped and don't discuss it. Can you explain?
He mentions Wyrdward @3:29, which is an excellent second ring for the stuns. If you get one with attack speed and cooldown, even better. Wudi also mentioned using Unity as a second ring for builds that are squishy. Don't ever use Arcstone unless you're just starting a season and have nothing better.
Before change to Thrill of the hunt, I would use the Bull-kathos ring and templar slow skill because the "drain life" counted as a hit so a portable BoT. Worked very well in doorways.
On characters that dont need the Ess of Johan I like to use Overwhelming Desire. It doesn't work on Rift Guardians but the charm on hit boosting damage by 35% is noticeable and in my opinion better than the limited impact of Dovu Energy Trap. Damage boosts might push you further/save time but Dovu is never going to decide a run. Like others have said I like Freeze Deflection shield and don't see any negatives in it.
Overwhelming Desire is an extremely awful choice. The charm is a hard crowd control, meaning your own crowd control effects will last for a much shorter time or might not even work at all after a few charms when they start building resistance. Plus, it doesn't work on Rift Guardians as you said.
Could use it on Enchantress too, it's more like "Scoundrel is the follower to go for if you really like CC" and typically you use the other followers when you don't want it
If you and the follower have unity, will the damage reduction from that stack with Call Of The Ancients-Together As One rune ( 50% of damage is split between active ancients) or does one just cancel the other???
This is a good question did you ever get your answer? I would assume that if your damage was halved from unity then another 50% reduction would be an additional 25% reduction not a full 50% based of your original 100% if that makes since but that is assuming I’m am understanding the mathematics applied here let me know either way thx !
sjrobertson1984 I suppose it would be dependent on whether or not it was additive or multiplicative I still haven’t tried it out I forgot how repetitive the end game feels and needed a break haha
8:00 don't pick either charge or onslaught (3rd skill row) they both knock enemeies back, it's the absolute opposite of what you want on any class ever.
Liked the video and thanks for the guide, but as a native English speaker I find it a little hard to understand you sometimes... if you could slow down a little, that would be awesome. I'm new so, I don't really have my ears primed for the diablo vocabulary you are using - which is obviously a problem for understanding - however if you aren't going to project your voice and use more tone, some cadence in your speech would be really helpful. KB_314 the only follower stats that really matter are attack speed, cool down and % chance to block. main stat is irrelevant because your follower does practically no damage, even when everything is maxed (compare your sheet damage to your templars - will a few extra strength help?!)

You should either be using barber or a soul harvester. one or the other cubed. its alot harder to find a nice ancient rolle barber so id say cube the barber. Eun jang do is useless.
I added it as text because I forgot to say it when I was talking about the templar. Freeze of Deflection screws with your other CC/pulling but you can use it if you feel like you need the defense

You mention how by using a lightning dmg azure wrath w/ wyrdward, it causes a lot of freezing and prevents add spawns, but I've found the oculus rings from spawn kills can drastically reduce the time to kill. Do you consider it more beneficial to have the guardian frozen and the fight take longer, than to be at more risk in order to gain the 85% bonus?
Hi Wudijo, you say the CDR works on scoundrel and templar, but not the legendary gems. Have you tried gogok for exemple to have more AS and CDR wich are valuable stats on followers gear ? By the way, thanks for all infos you bring to the community especially this season for my favorite class, the WD.
I roll the sockets in any of my Templar items to CDR (on weapon, all jewelry). That increases the number of times the heal (first row) can be used. CDR works on the Templar just like it does for you. It is not reported in the Templars details though.
@6:18 He mentioned Freeze of Deflection in the bottom right-hand corner. I disagree with him on this, though. I find the freezes useful on the RG in terms of defense, procing Trapped, and the potential extra cooldown is nice. Plus, it can roll another CC as a secondary.
Ideally you want both attack speed and cooldown on your follower's weapon, but if you don't have either stat and are forced to choose, then 10% cooldown is slightly more beneficial.
no mate, you magically get any legendary item bonuses from any items in your inventory, I got like 20 unity rings in my inventory, 99.99999999999% damage reduction... why didn't anyone think of this before?
Hey Wudi. I am using wd this season with templar for solo push. I don't know why but often when I pirahnado, my templar comes and blows everything apart. He is equiped with Azurewrath rolled with lightning dmg, dovu amulet and wyrdward ring. Is it because of his charge skill ?

For some builds I want zero cc from follower, ess can be annoying when it pulls stuff in the wrong places where I instead maybe want to funnel mobs in a path. I wish scoundrel was useful, he's the only one with a tolerable conversation.

You can test this yourself with tal rasha/firebird set on wizard, where you get bonuses from multiple elements, OR on necromancer poison nayr, the weapon element means absolutely nothing and will not proc wyriad
Lightning damage on a weapon does proc Wyrdward. You're 100% wrong on that. You're right that the element damage on a weapon is meaningless--except in that once instance. I've tested it countless times.

Great overview. Just one question: Why is fine to go with Blind on Scoundrel, but Disorient on Enchantress is unacceptable?

David Oakley thats how I would expect it to work also, but have never tried unity + ancients...

It is not super important but it is worth to know: cc reduction on rings and amulet are nice, and also you get 20% of their gold and xp bonus.

It drops with damage range, cold skill% and two primary stats (in the video, his has attack speed and cooldown)

on real pushing tiers usually the only adds with low enough hp pool come from Binder and Hamelin and they will spawn them either way

how about the Bul-Kathos's Wedding Band? Back in days it was "good" because "dmg" was procent based and RG have lots of hp.

it also boosts your damage as well but the proc rate is too low and you can't charm Rift Guardians.

I like the Haunt ring on my followers until I find a Unity. It does spawn Haunts, which are good little bloodhounds for sniffing out enemies. 😁
