@@heretorecord Hello, I to like your content . I cannot figure out how to move the chroma screen to the ATEM mini pro. Is there a particular way it should be connected to make that happen?
Just FYI, if anyone buys a NEW Stream Deck, they are onto a new hardware version that 1.x of Companion won't recognize. You have to use one of the 2.0 beta builds. Obviously, beta software is not good for production use, but I can confirm it works, just be aware. Hopefully that helps some of those out there wondering why their new Stream Deck isn't being seen by Companion.

@HeretoRecord...I downloaded the program today. It looks like something I can really use. Wish me luck, trying to learn all of this stuff. I think this program will be a must have, in a couple of years. Thanks!
About to do a live feed in a day and Wirecast (AKA wirecrash) is failing as usual. I have had H2R Graphics installed on my PC for a while and thought it was about time to try this. Wow, so easy to use. I could have ditch Wirecrash a year ago. Thanks for making this product and making it so easy to use!
I am currently using the TV Studio HD switcher and have a monitor attached for multiview. I am using an iMac to run the ATEM software. In order to use the H2R Graphics software, I just need to connect the iMac to one of the HDMI inputs on the TV Studio and set that up as an extended display? TIA.
Thanks for the great feature.. i am trying to get used to h2R graphic at the momment. For companion to work, does it need internet connection? Or as long as they are conected tru LAN it will works?
The Key is not clean, I can see a vertical Line on the right side (2:11). Is that coming from the Computer or from the Atem? (do you see it on a screen as well without the atem?)
You can clean up the key by playing with the settings in the ATEM - I just ran with it like that for this video, but some time and patience will work in your favour!
Hi John. Thank you so much for these new quick tips. I’m still waiting for my ATEM mini pro to be shipped, so I’m using the time to get up to speed to hit the ground running. I’d really appreciate a video on using the ATEM mini with the Hyperdeck Studio Mini if possible (not sure if you have one).

You’ll want to head into the “ATEM setup utility” and make sure that you have “keep with transition” set up for the keyer. This way your upstream keyer will not disappear
Hello, I really liked your video. However, I would like you to explain me in more detail, because I am not clear at all. How is the connection with the Atem mini and how do you move on the Chroma screen? In the video it is between 0:33 and 0:45 min. You don't know how I'd appreciate it if you answered this question of mine. a greeting

And if so what is that second monitor attached to and by what means. You mention an extended monitor. I do have an additional monitor which the ATEM’s HDMI out is connected to, but the only way it sees the green screen is if I expand it on the second computer’s monitor but then I cannot control the H2R Graphics because the controls are covered by the green screen. Thank you for any help and/or insight you can provide.
No need for a second monitor. The ATEM *is* your second monitor in this instance. So you just need to find out what direction it is and drag the window that way. You can see this in the System preferences. Feel free to send me a screen recording of your progress to my email and I can help from there. john(at)heretorecord.com

Hi John, loving H2R Graphics on first glance. I'm trying out the companion Streamdeck emulator before I buy one and I've set up 4 buttons for timer, logo etc. Can I set the buttons to 'toggle' the H2R graphics on and off, or do I have to set separate buttons for on air and off air? I checked the toggle box in companion but it doesn't seem to work as expected. Many thanks
Yes you can do this. You will need to use the “latch toggle” option on the button and then set a separate “key down” and “key up” action. If you have issues then get in touch over email with some screenshots of your progress John(at)heretorecord.com
I have just started playing with my Atem Mini Pro and I tried using H2R graphics package through my Microsoft lap top as Mr Parecki demonstrates, but and there is always a but, when I popped it into camera four HDMI slot I had two issues- the chroma top quick exit ribbon stayed on the screen and when needing to bring up different graphics up the control panel went across the chroma screen- someone somewhere is going to chuckle but as an Old man I am struggling- any help gratefully received
Not to worry. The way to fix the first issue is to use CTRL+F to bring the chroma window full screen. Not sure about the second issue, perhaps you can send me screenshots to john@heretorecord.com
Great job John, thank you very much! I've downloaded and it is working well :) Three questions please 1. What's the best way to connect 2 HDMI outputs to a mac? Thunderbolt 3 to dual HDMI? For an older laptop with no thunderbolt 3? 2. Can the transparency of the graphics be adjusted? I see that happens during the fade transition but don't see a way to control that while the graphic is being displayed. 3. If we want to support you how do we do that? :)
Good questions. 1) I would indeed use Thunderbolt to HDMI 2) kind of, you can set opacity using custom CSS 3) heretorecord.com/support/ and just watching the videos is support!
H2R is great for our live productions! Not sure if this would be complicated or not, but have you considered having it output NDI? It might not be useful for the atem users but there’s a bunch of us that I think would benefit from this.
The monitor is linked to the Atem Mini with an HDMI - there is no connection between my laptop with the H2R app and the monitor's window. How does this drag and drop work? I am confused.
You will want to make sure your computer is on "Extended Display" mode just as though you have connected it to any external monitor where you have two desktops. Then you will be able to drag windows between your screens.
@@heretorecord Thanks, problem solved. This was a massive brain fart on my behalf. My mistake was thinking in terms of the multi-view screen as a whole - when, like you say, I only needed to extend my monitor via the hdmi cable to camera 4 input in the multiview :-) Pretty funny to get so absolutely blocked.
Can't get it to work. The instructions don't make any sense to me. It says you have to connect the ATEM Mini or Pro to your computer via HDMI. And you need a 2nd extended display, so you have one for key and fill? How do you connect a computer via HDMI? USB or a Network connection is the only way to connect to a computer. So even if I used two computers, one for key and one for fill, I couldn't possibly connect them both to the ATEM? Sorry, totally lost here. Using ATEM Mini Pro with Windows 10 and Stream Deck.
Hey - you actually want to connect the computer to the ATEM with HDMI as though you were connecting your computer to an external monitor or a TV that was right beside you. Often by default your computer screen will be mirrored on that second display, however you need to turn off mirroring in order to get this setup to work. Feel free to send me an email with a short video of your progress and I’ll be happy to help! john(at)heretorecord.com
Software takes a bit to get used to, and lacks scrolling bars on the side, so unless you hit the up and down arrows, you might not see all the settings or options displayed on screen. Besides that niggle, the main thing missing is an NDI or RTSP output, rather then needing a physical device connection.

I tried that with Atem MIni and for some reason it did not work. But green works great. What am i missing? On my mac's main screen i can use only h2r Graphic.I am sure its something to do with MAC. can you help solve this. Thanks again for all your wonderful videos.
You can go to the settings tab in H2R Graphics and pick any colour! And you can fix the Mac issue by going to your Macs system preference>Mission Control> and make sure that “displays have separate spaces” is on
Great video! Is it possible to contro ATEM and have H2R graphics on same computer? I think to use two monitors First monitor: atem controller Second monitor: H2R graphics software control Hdmi output to ATEM mini : H2R fullscreen feed Have you tried this? Thanks
It is possible. You just need to use the DSK for H2R Graphics and do a luma key. If you set the chroma colour to black on the background of the output window then you will be able to do this! I discuss it at 26:29 in this video th-cam.com/video/AxMd_QOPbME/w-d-xo.html
I plan on using an Intel NUC for the H2R graphics and other PC needs when I get my atem. I'm going to be torn between Linux and windows for this system because there's some great audio options for windows like voicemeeter.
You could set the background colour of the to a off-green colour to try and see if it works. And there is currently no “am”/“pm” function! It’s on the list though!
Thank you very much for your contribution, it really help to our institute we are using this for Dharama class. I am using your latest version v0.3.0 and want to learn about the Key/Fill. could you please help us in some confusion. Once again Thank you very much. Passang.
Hey - I’ll be happy to help. The key/fill version is something you can use to get a clean keyed version of your graphics. The “fill” window is all of the graphics as you would expect them in full colour, the “key” version is a grayscale image where any part that is black will not be seen by the viewer and anything white will be seen. You can use a Luma key in on your video switcher and allow it to do all the keying work for you.
@@heretorecord Thank you very much for your quick response, I got some idea of key/fill. @@heretorecord Sorry, my question was very unspecific. I´d like to control h2r with my stream deck. But I´m not able to fade in a graphic with the stream deck. It works well when I fade in the graphic with h2r directly, but there´s no connection between the stream deck an h2r yet. Or well, there is a connection: When I push the button on the stream deck, the button in companion is also "pushed", but I can´t bring any function to the button. Companion only offers me Basic actions for h2r, that only contains 2 buttons. So I created a new button, but I still can´t execute any action by this button. When I generate a press action (show/hide graphic), I can´t add any graphics. It says "no options" in the Graphic drop down list. Or when I use "Send String", I can do the same adjustments like in your video, but where can I tell companion, which text or graphic it should show up? I thought that this are maybe functions that only work with the Pro versions.
So, yeah, a Linux version would be great... a Raspberry Pi 4 would be a great host for H2R graphics! Not to mention it has two HDMI outputs... which might be of some use, some how?
If you're interested, there's an unofficial Linux build over here: github.com/cjdenio/h2r-graphics-linux/releases No guarantees that it'll work on a Raspberry Pi, but it might be worth trying out.
When the Linux version comes look into a Raspberry Pi with HDMI out for $50 or so. Or you can use a NUC or Intel Atom compute stick for the $100-200 range. I personally have a "box" flavored Intel NUC that the ATEM will be replacing. That i7 still uses a lot of power (3x the ATEM mini Pro!) so I might get a compute stick to try instead.
The whole addressing thing for every single button in Companion seems overly complex. I saw someone using H2R graphics directly to a lower thirds on the ATEM. That's what I'd like to see.
You are more than free to do that! But maybe during the live show a guest is changed to another one and now you need to update a lower third. I bet you could so that faster with H2R Graphics than with AI.
You got to opening H2r graphics, then using a screen that doesn't open automatically, and which I can't find, you opened a Chroma Window. End of tutorial for me.
The ATEM Mini and ATEM Mini Pro interfaces will function identically for this process, though if you have any specific questions then feel free to reach out! John(at)heretorecord.com

Do you plan to add functionality of been able to use this to display lyrics on a live stream. Also the option to be able to change individual font as well as reduce the opacity of the the background bars
Lyrics is a maybe. Fonts and colours can all be changed with CSS for each element!
I've downloaded and it is working well :) Three questions please
I have considered it. For now you can use the NDI Scan Converter app which will work!
@@heretorecord Yep I'm actually doing that right now, thanks for thinking of it!
Hello I do have a really hard time to connect h2r to the ATM mini and I'm really having a hard time I have one desktop one laptop and two monitor please if you have a way let me know
How far have you gotten so far?
Can i do this without my ATEM Mini Pro ? i Don't see why not but it's not working. i'm at home and my ATEM is at church.
In the Lower Thirds function of H2R Graphics, can you add Horizontal offset in the new version? because I want to move it around the screen instead of just choosing Left or Right screen. I hope to see that version in a short time. Thank so much.
Good thinking!
Does all this apply the same with the ATEM television HD?

Outstanding videos! I am in a fully green studio. Created to help Pastor who would love to live stream but do not have the equipment. I have 3 cameras and using sling studio into my 4th HDMI output. Will your H2R Graphics work In a chroma color studio. Will they overlay on my production.
I haven’t tried it with sling studio. Did you try it yet?
Thank you John. H2R graphic is great tool. I have been suing it for quite some time now. Can i change chroma color from Green to any ( blue). I tried that with Atem MIni and for some reason it did not work. But green works great. What am i missing? Also for H2R graphic chroma output window (ATEm mini) if I go full screen from MAC i am not able to control anything else. On my mac's main screen i can use only h2r Graphic.I am sure its something to do with MAC. can you help solve this.
Thanks again for all your wonderful videos.
You can go to the settings tab in H2R Graphics and pick any colour! And you can fix the Mac issue by going to your Macs system preference>Mission Control> and make sure that “displays have separate spaces” is on
amazing , can I insert lower thirds I did on After effects , mp4 files ?
You cannot. Lower thirds are created within the software itself
Do you have any info on installing the graphics software on a raspberry pi with companion?
I haven’t actually tried it out yet!
Great video! Is it possible to contro ATEM and have H2R graphics on same computer?
I think to use two monitors
First monitor: atem controller
Second monitor: H2R graphics software control
Hdmi output to ATEM mini : H2R fullscreen feed
Have you tried this?
Thanks
Defiantly you can do this. I do it all the time!
Are u using a Mac book or a pc, do u need 2 hdmi outs on your pc.. is there a diagram to show how to connect second monitor
I’m using a Mac and I am only using one HDMI output
Here to Record it appears u are dragging the green screen over to a second monitor, and also u are using that out of the Mac to the ATEM..
I got it figured out.... just want to suggest that ur software allow to bring up your own lower thirds created just like u pull up ur own logo.
Thanks for the helpful videos.
Will this work with the original Atem Mini?
It sure will!
@@heretorecord Great. Thanks. Keep up the awesome work :-)
Would it be possible to have H2R graphics while also running a PIP in the ATEM mini?
It is possible. You just need to use the DSK for H2R Graphics and do a luma key. If you set the chroma colour to black on the background of the output window then you will be able to do this! I discuss it at 26:29 in this video th-cam.com/video/AxMd_QOPbME/w-d-xo.html
Nice bro
How do I use this with the downstream Key, What do I do on the ATEM. Great videos thanks
You just need to set the Background colour to black instead of green, then use a Luma key. Finally, avoid any black graphics in your production.
I plan on using an Intel NUC for the H2R graphics and other PC needs when I get my atem.
I'm going to be torn between Linux and windows for this system because there's some great audio options for windows like voicemeeter.
Oh and definitely test this product with a Raspberry Pi.
1. How to get the ticker to have a translucent background?
2. How to change the timer settings to display time in am/pm format?
I am using Key/Fill in downstream to show my logo and messages so that I can use Upstream for DVE simultaneously. Luma key comes under Upstream. I am using BM Atem Mini Pro ISO. Do I need two monitor to show key and fill separately because in key i can see the wipe effect of message but on fill I can see the messages but there is no effect (wipe).
How to add custom graphics to the lower third, ticker, etc any other than the logo? How to add animated files ?
Currently CSS is the only way to add customisation. If you have lower third graphics already then you will need to build them with CSS
Been using the ATEM Mini Pro and ran into an issue. I was streaming with a Netgear M1 hotspot, and the first time the ATEM got on the network fine. Not sure how, because it didn't ask for password it just showed up. Connected laptop through wifi on same network.
Next day I tried to get back on the hotspot and ATEM won't connect. Any thoughts as to why?
Loved your video by the way.
I have no idea on that one - did you manage to sort it?
@@heretorecord yes I did. Had set it to a static IP after the first time, and then couldn't connect. I've added a mobile router in between so I can make sure they are both on the same network. Trying to get the computer out of the mix since most of what I do is mobile.
Can I use this on my Atem Mini?
Yes!
Can the companion app control the black magic web presenter?
Seems like it doesn't yet
Any recommendations for a good place to find more themes?
Working on more for the future!
Is that only possible with the Pro versions?
Which part?
For the life of me i can't get out of a black screen when I put the chroma to full screen on my mac.. Any ideas?
You should set up your displays to have separate spaces in the System preferences
@@heretorecord Thanks John. I made all the settings but forgot that I needed to log out and log back in again / restart... Gotta laugh really
Got it
how to use atem mini pro, easyworship and H2R to live streaming and presentation in church.thank you bro
So, yeah, a Linux version would be great... a Raspberry Pi 4 would be a great host for H2R graphics! Not to mention it has two HDMI outputs... which might be of some use, some how?
James Webster I had the same idea. The raspberry is a good solution for that
I’ll have to get my hands on one and give it a look!
If you're interested, there's an unofficial Linux build over here: github.com/cjdenio/h2r-graphics-linux/releases
No guarantees that it'll work on a Raspberry Pi, but it might be worth trying out.
I love this thread. The cheapest windows option would probably be an Atom compute stick.
cannot run on macos Catalina, why?
You need to right click the app, choose open then open again. Will fix in a future version!
My setup is totally Mobile. How could I make this work without a desktop/laptop?
When the Linux version comes look into a Raspberry Pi with HDMI out for $50 or so. Or you can use a NUC or Intel Atom compute stick for the $100-200 range.
I personally have a "box" flavored Intel NUC that the ATEM will be replacing. That i7 still uses a lot of power (3x the ATEM mini Pro!) so I might get a compute stick to try instead.
LattePanda - raspberry pi sized board, but runs Win10
Thank you for the video! Is it possible to show YT-Comments with H2R Graphics? Thanks.
Some day!
@@heretorecord That would be great. Thank you!
It would be really great if H2R Graphics would allow simple display of stills.
Thanks for the request. I’ll add it to the list. For now you can actually just throw an image in the logo element and make it full size!
Can't download XML error :-(
Tell me more... where are you downloading it from. Where does it say this message?
@@heretorecord in the mean time it seems to work.. thanks.
The whole addressing thing for every single button in Companion seems overly complex. I saw someone using H2R graphics directly to a lower thirds on the ATEM. That's what I'd like to see.
Why such a work around when you can bring in a png image made in illustrator as an input.
You are more than free to do that! But maybe during the live show a guest is changed to another one and now you need to update a lower third. I bet you could so that faster with H2R Graphics than with AI.
A set of pre-made guest names for a program in png format is one button away.
@@heretorecord yes I agree. I had that situation and H2R to the rescue :)
you need to do an update this video is nothing like the set up now so it is impossible to get started. such a shame i had high hopes.
Couldn’t agree more. Working on it. In the meantime here is an article… h2r.graphics/docs/how-to-use-with/atem/
i hope you have version for ios
I do not :(
You got to opening H2r graphics, then using a screen that doesn't open automatically, and which I can't find, you opened a Chroma Window. End of tutorial for me.
You lost me when you said this works for mini and mini pro, but immediately show a pro interface without explaining how it works with mini.
The ATEM Mini and ATEM Mini Pro interfaces will function identically for this process, though if you have any specific questions then feel free to reach out! John(at)heretorecord.com
