It's like the governor wasn't wrong in the first part but he unfortunately decided to let that power go to his head.
I know, if I was him I would of gone out of my way to get on Vader’s good side anyway, you know by sending troops with him on his missions, consulting with him on strategy, and even telling him to never bow to anyone but the emperor.

You either tell Palpatine the truth right to his face and pray that he is impressed with your boldness (i bet it took some guts having Vader standing right behind you while you are accusing him of insubordination to Palpatine and Palpatine certainly took note of that) or you dont speak to him at all.

Foolish governor. If you got Vader as your retainer, you should've used him wisely instead of petty missions. It's like making a queen walk in circles on chest board for the giggles rather than capturing pieces.

If it wasn't for Palpatine, the Empire wouldn't exist. Vader was useful, very useful, but he was just an enforcer of the Emperor's will. Thrawn and Tarkin could do what Vader did.

Imagine how much you could've achieved having Darth Vader at your command. Just give him the mission, support from the other Stormtroopers, freedom to do things his own way, and the respect he deserved. It could've gone a long way to helping the empire.

Even Darth Bane, who basically *founded* the Sith order as we see it in the movies, would *never* have tolerated Sidious destroying Alderaan, nor would he approve of Sidious just having people killed seemingly at random just for his own sick amusement. It's one thing to have a valid reason (they are actively opposing you, they pose some manner of direct threat to you, ore something else along those lines), but to slaughter people on a massive scale (Alderaan) would have been seen as an utter waste of potentially useful resources. There was a time where Darth Bane pondered killing a doctor who had helped him simply because the doctor had seen his face, but he decided that such an action would have been unnecessary as that doctor posed little real threat to him even if Bane allowed him to live.

Noticeably, there’s a pattern where the seemingly efficient commanders of the Imperial Army would fall prey to corruption and greed. The Governor had good reason to report that Vader caused great damage to the Imperial war effort by lighting up the Coaxium. But then onward, he practically let his authority over Vader get the best of him, to the point where it was less about tactical minded action and more on acts driven solely by lust for power.
On that note, let this be a reminder that all that snitch to his Excellency gets yeeted to the Crab Rave.
Vader was still right. You have all the time in the world to gather all the unobtanium you want unopposed once all the rebels are dead.

Damn, I was 100% of the governors side at the start, smart move going straight to Palpatine rather than confronting Vader. Got what he deserved in the end though.
Same here. The governor was being practical when he called off the air strike on the Rebel Base as they needed to get the resources the base was built on top of but Vader ruined the mission and since Palpatine directly ordered the governor to get the resources at all costs, the governor was right to rat out Vader to Palpatine who basically had disobeyed his orders.
Sadly, the governor let his anger towards Vader and his new power go to his head and he ended up doing things to anger Vader AND break Imperial law which cost him his life.

Not quite.
Vader has screw up sometimes(after the Destruction of the first Death Star, Palpatine was furious) and Palpatine has punished him sometimes. This was a big mistake he did that compromised the Empire's presence in the sector.

The governor’s lust for power and revenge that led him to provoke a space crab monster has nothing to do with the Coaxium incident earlier.

I explicitly fucking stated that Marvel makes the comics, but Disney still had to make the decision to license the material to them. A comic book company can't just start selling Star Wars comics when they feel like it.

The relationship between Vader and Palpatine is so interesting. The emperor is like some twisted dad helping his son develop into a monster, and being proud every time he does something diabolical. And even though he's evil, he ends up imparting a lot of messed up wisdom which Vader genuinely appreciates. It makes the Emperor's death kind of...sad? Almost.
Palpatine threw Vader away after 25 years of service, in favor of Darth Vader’s own son, then tried killing said son. That’s….going too far.
Well, Palpatine did toy with him at times where Vader being reminded of his past self as a Jedi Knight. And even taunted him while doing so. Cuz then again, Palpatine didn't really care about Vader or any of his previous apprentices at all. They were just expendable tools in his eyes. And once they were near the end of their usefulness, he got rid of them for good.

I can understand anger that his mission was ruined by Vader's recklessness, but, after having Vader placed under him, he should have been more respectful. Even towards your subordinates, you should show respect, so that they may also show respect to you.

these comics honestly humanize him a TON. He has respect for those that do the fighting (after all, he was a soldier before the Empire) and only punishes Imperial Officers because he doesn't think they earn their positions (which is probably true). Otherwise, all the evil things he does are a result of him following orders. He's basically the muscle for the Emperor, who is truly evil.

And yet there still seems to be a long line of idiots to go through.
Goes to show that the transition of Anakin to the Vader we know and love wasn’t as simple as putting on the black armor. Once his initial rage had passed, he actually began to grow.
Still come to think of it, it makes me wonder if all Sith Lords go through that emotional immature phase like he (and even Kyle Ren) did. Perhaps that phase of immaturity is actually a part of the dark side of the force taking a grip on the emotions of the wielded, greatly influencing them to behave like that until at long last they go through the transformation that Vader did. Think of it like the force equivalent of puberty.
Sending Darth Vader on those first two missions ended up creating two extremely strategic victories. The empire experienced far fewer losses than it would have if Darth Vader had imperial forces as backup.

Actually Palpatine straight up told Vader he wasn't allowed to lay a finger on Tarkin, Tarkin is one of the few imperial officers whose both competent and shares Palpatine's vision of the Empire.
He has immunity from Force Choking because Palpy himself told Vader he's off limits.

I still would have snitched. He totally screwed up my mission. After that though I wouldn’t have been a dick and flaunted my authority, I would have been a professional and continued carrying out my orders, making sure to include Vader in the planning stages of any engagement and giving any suggestions or advice from him serious consideration.
Perso if I was the governor I would put the blame on some random pilot, ask Vader to execute them and then try to get Vader reassigned somewhere else, saying something along the lines of his Talents being of far better use in another sector, doubt Vader would mind being moved away.
Smart strategy except for the part where you doubt the emperor's wisdom in assigning Vader there in the first place. Unfortunately that wisdom was no doubt that this governor's usefulness was nearly at its end.

I get that the Governor snitched and he sort of had to, but when Sideous told Vader that he had to follow his the Governors orders he should have just turned to Vader and been like, "You have killed everyone that the emperor put you under, so what should I *not* do to piss you off?"
These Vader comic stories are fascinating. I don't read these comics, so I don't know if it's the writing or your explanation, but I love these short little synopsis videos.
