I tried to play with my daughter a month or so ago, and the instructions were so confusing, we gave up. She begged me to try again, so I decided to search online for better instructions. I stumbled across this video series on the game. After watching, we were able to play without a problem. It was very well done and made it simple to understand. Thank you so much for doing this and for helping me get some quality mom/daughter time!! :)
That's a wonderful think to hear Conor. I hope you and your daughter enjoyed the game! Also, I clicked into your channel, watched one video and had to subscribe - very engaging material! As I do more public presentations, I think your content will provide some meaningful lessons for to take on board.
This game looked fun but complicated with all the various card colors. Your instructional made it super easy to figure out the card drafting and how to play. Our family plays 7 wonders often now with the expansions and much of that is because of this great video tutorial. Very well done. Thank you.
My son (15) and I watched this video together, and he was surprised that this video was 8 years old because of it's quality! And being an avid youtube consumer he said that the way you explained it was perfect, not over the top enthusiastic, not boring, concise with a bit of humour. One of the best instructionals we've seen. Excellent Video! Thanks!
Your teaching skills are, bar-none, the BEST I've seen! You speak very clearly, have a great understanding of the game and your logic (in teaching) is phenomenal! I admire the way you systematically go thru the game while adding little 'what-not-to-do's' along the way. I play this game a lot, it is one of my favorites! Kudos to you and your thinking - your instructional abilities are precise...Spock-like, if you will.
I meant it, I finished up watching you and the kids playing the full game and am now very confident I'm ready for a local board game group I found that is going to play 7 Wonders next week. Thank you so very much for all the time you and your family put into these. You really have it figured out, from excellent quality video and audio to amazingly well laid out logical progression of the rules and then to watch you all play a full game solidifies all the rules and progression of play.
I can’t believe it’s been 8 years now since I first stumbled onto your channel looking for a good, in-depth look at this game to ensure I’d like it before buying. You’ve turned me onto quite a few more games since, and I just wanted to let you know how awesome it is to see that you’ve truly succeeded with this career that you created for yourself. Thanks so much for your hard work and diligence. Hopefully after the quarantine, I’ll get a chance to meet you at the next convention and thank you in person. Here’s to eight more years and beyond.
Thank you so much for this wonderful explanation! I was feeling pretty overwhelmed and confused, but you really broke everything down nicely. Thanks so much!!
Stacy, that's so nice to hear! The rule books can be a lot to take in, so I'm really happy to know the video helped. I hope you have a great time playing!
I don't know, I'm a very patient person, I'm not bored at all when I watch your instructional videos. I don't think they are boring at all. As for clarity, yours are the most clear I've seen on youtube. The explanations are very detailed and easy to understand because you lay them out very clearly and systematically. That's just one of the traits I love about your videos! And that doesn't apply only to your instructional videos, but also to your gameplay videos. You always review the rules as situations come up during the game so no one forgets why something is or isn't happening, they are simply great! Kudos again for a great great channel!
You are always my first option when I search youtube when I want to learn about a new game exactly because of those characteristics I mentioned. It's just more fun and easier than just reading the manual. I just ordered 7 Wonders and while I wait for it to be delivered, I'm watching this to be ready to play it right when it arrives. That's pretty much what I do with every game I purchase that you have made a video of.
Hello! Can anybody tell me if you can play 7 Wonders Duel with the cards from the Regular Game of 7 Wonders. Obviously I need to print the military board and the tokens. But rather than that the cards seems to be the same. Can anybody confirm that?
Over eight years since this was uploaded, I've just purchased 7 Wonders second edition and this tutorial has proven to be very helpful. I don't have a problem with the included rules and found them to be easy to understand. But if King Rodney has done a tutorial video for a game, I will always watch it.
I remember using this video so long ago to learn how to play 7 wonders. Your channel, and the hobby, have continued to grow so much since then and it's been nice to have your staying presence throughout all these years. You've taught me several other games since then. Your teaching style is one I continue to aspire to, as i'm the rules person for my group. Thanks again for being such a positive influence on our community.
Great video Rodney. I delayed and delayed so long on getting this game and when I found it for a really good sale the week of Gen Con 14 I had to finally get it. And I must way that after watching this play through of the game and the rules learning this was a snap. Even my wife was able to pick this one up pretty easy. Great work as always. I also love the passion and excitement that you put into each of your videos. I can tell that you truly are doing something that you really enjoy. But then again who does not enjoy board games. :) Ray
Hey Ray, thanks again for such a nice comment. I'm really glad you found the video easy to follow and that you're wife was on board to play with you as well! Cheers!
It is a great game. Get sleves for the cards though! The cards used for 2-3 players get used much more so otherwise you will recognize themas they get much mre wear an tear... Sleves fit in the box so it's no fuss.
Hey Rodney, thank you so much for this explanation, it made reading the rulebook so much easier! After an exhausting round with seven inexperienced players, everyone luckily got a hang of it the second round. Thank you again and keep up the good work!
Tip: get slevves for the cards! The cards for 3-4 palyers are always used. for 6-7 not always. After a while one can see if the cards left are used or as new= the likelyhood to get a certain card as the others are on the table.
Rodney, thank you so much for always doing an excellent job explaining how to play board games. We have watched your channel for years now and when I wanted to refresh for rules on this older game I was so pleased to see that you had recorded this video. You are my favorite explainer of game rules and I always search for you first on TH-cam.
This video is probably the most concise and thorough explanation of how to play 7 Wonders I've seen online. I'm pointing anyone who's asking about this game here to learn before they come to the table.
This game sat on our shelves for 2 years unused. Yesterday, because of your video, my three kids and I played the game for the first time. We had fun. Thank you for your work!
I was re-watching this to learn the rules again. I was struck at how clever the old intro was- the continuity of the hands moving the game pieces above the boards of the different games. Thanks for all your hard work!
Played this at work (lunchtime) yesterday. Absolute confusion. Watched your video and everything dropped into place. Thank-you very much. Getting the children involved is a brilliant idea which is well produced.
Tim Emmerson Nope, not Chicago area, not with an "oot" instead of "out". The "oot" puts you in or near Canada. Sorry, man - I'm NOT trolling! I'm loving the video but I'm playing a mini-game on the side called "Guess The Accent." It's tricky because it's very subtle. do go on... :-)
Tim Emmerson Okay, definitely Canada. I'll guess central Canada as a way to explain the "card" enunciation...though after peaking at your profile on boardgamegeek. com, I see I am geographically challenged. Regardless, FANTASTIC video and greatly appreciated!
I'm brazilian. I need to say, i've seen lots of videos about 7 wonders in many languages(gameplay, how to play, etc) and, without any doubt, your video was the best. Very detailed, helped a lot! Congrats!
Thank you so much for your videos. I received 7 wonders a year ago and I haven't played it yet 'cause every time we went to play, everyone was thinking that the booklet was too long to read, etc... You made my life much more easier today, since I'll be playing it tonight! At least, try to follow your lead! Thanks again!
You legitimate are the best at this. I have seen many of your videos, and it's all because your easy of teaching games have allowed my wife and I to become avid gamers. I am having a few people over for a game night tonight to play seven wonders, and I stumbled upon this video. 👏👏👏👏👏 love the growth and love behind this channel. You have made my gaming life so much better. I would like to see an everdell video as it's our current favorite game after wingspan. Keep it up if there's an award for board game explanation know that you are #1 in our home.
That channel grew so much. Yes, updated edition would be nice. I had no idea the explanations were so lengthy at the beginning. But. On the other hand. Rodney made my laugh out loud more than a few times. :)
This is an excellent tutorial!!! A little long for atutorial, but truly short for this particular game. It takes me about an hour to teach the game to new players (and that's just getting through Age 1). Very well structured, thorough, and no scatterbrained-ness. I'm definitely subscribing!
Re-watching this video because I have to demo it this weekend at a convention. And I have to say I still haven't forgotten how it is played even though it was months back when I first watched this. Goes to show how well you explain the rules to a game. I really like your videos!
This is yet another example of one of your excellent videos. Besides being informative, they're fun and funny. I've devoted a LOT of time to watching all of your videos that you've posted here (including MoM). I can't think of another person who is talented enough to entice me to spend that much time watching home videos. And I've loved EVERY minute of it. I can't donate right now, but I'm hoping that after I get a couple more paychecks under my belt, I'll be able to help.
This video is great- it taught me, my family and now my wife's family how to play so we all can enjoy it. I am not very good at explaining games like this, so this video is very helpful! To the creator-- much thanks to you and your family/team for taking the time to put this together.
Hey, just asking, but if you have, let's say, 4 coin tokens. I know if one of your neighbours is producing one wood, you can't buy 2 wood from them. However, if they are producing one wood and one stone can you spend all your coins to get both resources? Also, if one of your neighbours is producing one wood and the other is producing one stone, then can you spend 2 coins to get the stone from one neighbour and the other 2 coins to get the wood from the other neighbour?
Fantastic presentation of the game rules! I was never bored even though I understand the rules (although I noted something I might have been doing wrong). Also, a great idea about interactive play by voting in the comments. I especially appreciated that you included some "gotchas" or common misunderstandings that players could potentially experience which really adds value to the presentation. Only thing I noticed worth adding was that any stage of a wonder can be built in any age. Great job!
That addition about building wonders at any point was actually the reason I came to this video - building wonders was my last remaining question after reading instructions and watching a short video. I wanted to confirm the card used doesn’t matter (which this video confirmed) and that wonders could be built whenever (as long as they’re built in order… since there are three of them and three rounds, I wasn’t sure if it might be a “per round thing”) great addition to an already great video!
Just bought this and about to play it over the weekend with some friends. The rule-book in the box is so confusing. You have made it SUPER easy to understand and it looks so much fun to play!!! Thank you for making such a concise guide to the game!!!
As a father and someone that isn’t very skilled in teaching an 8 yr old how to play this kind of card game - this is by far the best tutorial on the internet. Amazing job and thank you for bringing some fun to our home - care of this video!
This is my first time watching a video of yours and I could not have asked for a better walk through on how to play this game. The written instructions were so convoluted that my husband and I gave up...but now I can't wait to start playing. Thanks.
Hey Rodney. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. I just stumbled upon it after watching many 7 Wonders videos - looking for a good gameplay explanation. I must say, yours is by far the best explanation I've found on TH-cam. I especially love the brief overview of the mechanic beginning at 1:45. Just that little thing helped enormously in understanding the rest as you went on. I am buying the game. Thanks! I am also going to continue watching your videos. Great job!
I had actually bought this game TWO Christmas's ago as it was rated high in reviews. But the instructions looked WAY too complicated to play - let alone explain to the other players. So, there is sat.... and sat.... and sat. Then I discovered your video by luck. It made so much more sense of all those symbols, tokens, cards, resources etc. now... Thanks for making it so much easier to play - and in an entertaining fashion. It is now one of our family favorites!! T H A N K S !!!!!
+David Riley David - that's great news! I've had a few games sit on my shelf like that, for the same reasons, and sometimes it just took some help to make things click. Glad this video helped you out! Thanks for the kind comment.
This was a great help! We have had the game since Christmas but haven't been able to figure it out based on instructions. Your video was clear, concise and so informative! This is the first TH-cam video like this that I have watched and I was unsure that I could watch it for a half hour. But the time flew by (with one break in the middle to play the family favorite King of Tokyo) and I look forward to watching the followup videos.
So glad to hear you found this video helpful Jennifer! You'll be happy to hear, that as time goes on, I get a little more efficient in my presentation, and many of these tutorial videos get a bit shorter (if the game isn't too complex). Happy gaming :)
Thanks so much for this video. I received 7 Wonders game as a Christmas gift and no one knows how to play. We read the instructions and felt lost. Your video is helping me to understand and I will be sure to watch some of the others you have posted. Again, thank you and great job!
brushing up on games that I haven't touched for years for the world series of board games. It's amazing to see this far back into the past of your channel. It's odd to realize that I never saw any videos from your first few years.
Was baffled at our first attempt this afternoon, but this really helped us get over the bump. Played 4 in a row tonight and we are totally hooked. Thanks.
I love your explanation of this game. I've seen it but never played it. After watching I feel I could open it up and start playing very quickly and know what I'm doing.
Big old throw back to a time before boardgames entered my life… but now introducing Laura to the game and this holds up! Nicely done Rodney! Nice to see things havent changed!
So helpful!! Just stumbled upon this vid and it made SO MUCH MORE SENSE than the paper rules. Glad you’re still making vids and helping people have fun!
Hey Andrew, I started some game nights thanks to your channel. I’m watching this video because we’re considering 7 wonders as our next game. It’s cool to see how much you’ve grown as a TH-camr from this video to the more recent ones. Thanks for your work!
Hi Watch It Played, yesterday me and my girlfriend watched this video and I have to say that it really helped a lot tot, because it is easier if someone shows how to play the game then reading all the instructions. Keep up the good work! So from now on whenever we will need help - we now where to go! Thanks! =)
Thank you so much for explaining, in detail, each part of this game! Reading the directions made my head spin, but this video made me realize how easy this game is!
I read the manuals then i watch these videos from watch it played...ALWAYS a treat to have everything explained with something to watch to clarify. Trust me I learned MANSIONS OF MADNESS from here lol...
I have watched a lot of your videos to teach my friends to play games (and most recently last night to learn 5 tribes) and I love your videos and enthusiasm. You're heads and tails above many of the other "how to play" videos for your professional editing, clarity, and enthusiasm. I know this is an older video, but I hope you see it and feel encouraged to do more!
Thank you so much! We received this game as a wedding gift, and finally got to playing it last night. First we cracked open a bottle of wine, then watched your video, and we were able to get playing right away instead of slowly reading the manual and stumbling through it. This was super helpful!
Super great video. Our group just started playing this game. The various reasons for selecting certain cards are already given by others. I would either take stone (offense) or brick (defense). Special Case, 6th turn: when you are down to a hand of 2 cards, you select one for play and the last one is discarded. Player aid and back of rulebook explains symbols, very useful during play. [minor point at 18:25, the military cards you showed for Luke are all Age II cards, not present in Age I.]
As someone who's missing out on a lot of good games because the prospect of teaching others to play is way too daunting, I have to hand it to you. You're a natural teacher and you do a great job. 30 mins is a bit of a slog, but you couldn't have made it any less painful and besides, it's way shorter than having to spend 2-3 unsuccessful hours working out a game around the table while people lose interest, only to put it back on the shelf never to be reopened. 7 Wonders gets a lot of stick for having poorly explained rules, so you've really helped out. I now send a link to your videos to the other players and get them to watch the tutorial before we meet. Thanks a lot, and keep up the good work.
Paul Sharville Thanks so much Paul :) Yes, my videos tend to be a little longer, as they are quite... thorough. Like you say, I figure there's just no short cut to a clear explanation, so better to take a little longer, but only have to do it once :) And I figure it's still shorter than actually reading the rules for ones self! Thanks for watching and sharing the videos!
This is my first look at one of your videos and it was very good. You obviously love playing the games and your explanations are clear. I am now a subscriber :)
Thanks for the brilliant instructions, we were struggling to get started but watched your very clear and well paced instructions and you set us going. We loved the game, great family time over Christmas.
As all ways it is nice to be able to come back to the older vids and still be amazed at your show. And to see how far you and your family have come. Tell Luck to keep rolling the "Lucky Luke's!" and Rod stop rolling the "Wheatons!" The mats are a real bonus to the set up of the game.
Lol I did actually pass out from fatigue watching this, 2 times. But I started watching it at 1 AM. But really clear tutorial, I think I''ve got the jist now. Thanks.
Hey man, just got this game along with Dead of Winter and found myself incapable of understanding the games through reading the manuals. You sir are so helpful and will definately be my go to game explanation channel as I can competently play (and explain) both games now. Thanks alot and please keep making these videos!
This was a really amazing instructional video, thank you so much. Like the pinned comment, I had given up on the game due to the confusing rulebook. It's been sat on a shelf for two years unplayed. Really looking forward to playing my first game now with my family in isolation.
Hey Rodney, I just wanted to say that I watched this series a while ago and decided I really needed to add this game to my collection. Well I did and since, it became the most favorite game among friends. So thanks for all of this, I probably wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't watched it played!
Your videos are so helpful, thank you for doing what you do to put these videos out. My wife and I just played this last week with friend and had no idea what was going on, now it make perfect sense! Thanks so much
Excellent video. Watched it twice and feel I've got a good understanding of how to play; the game arrives today and I can't wait to try having seen this! Thank you
Fantastic video. We spent too much time trying to use the terrible instructions that came with the game. This video was concise and entertaining. Thanks.
Thank you so much! My family got this for Christmas. So I decided to play! We looked at the instructions and we had no idea what was going on. This really helped us but we still have some questions. We had no idea what was going on so I'm thanking you and I'm glad I tripped on this video! It was the first video I saw so I just picked it. Once again, thank you very much I can't wait to play! This was very very very very helpful with my family!! Thank you once again!
hi again. i'd say this is your best intro vid yet. loved the 'fake' ending. from my experience as a Magic player, i'm gonna suggest a 'hate-drafting' move, which means you choose a card that would be valuable to other players. in this case, take the brick (Guard Tower). both Luke and Andrea need it to build their wonders AND i'm sure Luke is going to go the military route so denying him Military can't hurt AND it can't hurt to have some Military ourselves.
I was really confused about building a wonder stage (resources are infinite but still you have to put card facing down below the wonder stage you build) but this video cleared it up. I'm glad that you specifically said that it does not matter which card it is, first I thought the card that goes under the stage is used as payment (or partial payment) to wonder stage. Now I know this is not the case, thanks!
Wow, the *sequencing* you chose to explain the various elements of the game was flawless! You are a master of pedagogy! I'll definitely follow your teaching recipe when I introduce this game to my own group :)
Sir I used to watch your all videos on board games...Really nice and clear way to explain each and every aspect of games.like to watch videos again and again
I tried to play with my daughter a month or so ago, and the instructions were so confusing, we gave up. She begged me to try again, so I decided to search online for better instructions. You're very welcome. I love hearing stories like this (well - I don't mean I'm happy that you had trouble, but I'm glad the videos could help!).
That's a wonderful think to hear Conor. I hope you and your daughter enjoyed the game! Also, I clicked into your channel, watched one video and had to subscribe - very engaging material! I agree
Did you guys like it?
@@feepants4495 month late but game fun just played for the 1st time and this video made it so easy to understand

Hahaha indeed, even reacted to yours!

It's pretty wild to think how much time has passed. Here's to our chance meeting in the future Josh!
My friend, Shu, was able to follow you even when she was drunk. You are truly gifted. Clear & Concise. Thank you so much. We really appreciate it!
Glad to hear the video works, even under challenging 'conditions' :)

man, thank you SO much. i really didnt understand the written rules and this helped me a TON. keep up the amazing work.
yeah they are confusing :/
So glad this was helpful!
Holy cow this man has been the easiest game instructor I have ever found on TH-cam. I’ve never followed a tutorial as easy as his. He’s so nice!
So glad you found this helpful - have a great time playing Izzy!
I always watch your videos before buying a new game! you're the best! :)

Perfect Intro to the game. Made starting our first game fun and easy. We'll be watching more of your videos soon.
Great to have you watching Marc!

I was re-watching this to learn the rules again. I was struck at how clever the old intro was- the continuity of the hands moving the game pieces above the boards of the different games. Thanks for all your hard work!
Glad you enjoyed that intro. It was a fun one to come up with and then try to figure out how to do.
I did not pass out from boredom, your video is amazing!!
Well, thanks so much Yuri!
I watch many channels explaining how to play board games, but this channel do it the best. Thx, Rodney!
Thank you for the kind words aba!
great job. really helped me understand this game. So much easier than the ‘rules’ seem.
So nice to know this had been helpful - end up enjoying the game?
Played this at work (lunchtime) yesterday. Absolute confusion. Watched your video and everything dropped into place. Thank-you very much.
Getting the children involved is a brilliant idea which is well produced.
Glad to have helped straightened some things out :)
OMG I love how he says, "cards."
Apparently my accent really comes through on that word, I can't hear it, but people do comment on it :)
Agree!
*****
Chicago area...?
Tim Emmerson
Nope, not Chicago area, not with an "oot" instead of "out".
Congrats!
That's so nice to hear! Very pleased to know you found the video helpful!
This playthrough really helped me understand this game. Thank you for this video :D You just earned a like and a sub.
+James Finn Thanks for the like and sub, and I hope you have a great time with the game!
We watched your video and played the game immediately with no problem. You are a heck of a man doing a heck of a job.
Thank you kindly, Ryan.
Thanks for all the curds
Always happy to share my Canadian accent :)
We have been playing this nonstop since watching your vid.
My pleasure. I hope things go smoothly and you have a great time!
Another amazing instruction video. Xmas gift to in'laws chosen. Thanks
Thanks so much Gil - I hope you all have a great time playing :)
After watching this and couple more of your videos i understand why everyones praising you. No one ive seen makes these better than you. Thank you
Very kind of you to say, thanks Vicia - I hope you have a great time playing the games!
Amazing! Thank you so much, can't wait to play the game. Really interesting.
Glad you liked the video - I hope you have a great time playing!
Hey Saul, thanks for the kind words. You'll be happy to hear we did an Everdell tutorial already :) Happy gaming!
2020 and when watching back this video, you need to reshoot again rodney for the upcoming 7wonders dark edition 😂
Thanks for joining! This is an older video, and I tightened things up a bit more as I got more experience :)
Drinking game.. Yell "KURDS" and drink when the narrator says KURDS
I'm not responsible for any outcomes from this activity!
Watch It Played Hahahahaha
Re-watching this video because I have to demo it this weekend at a convention. And I have to say I still haven't forgotten how it is played even though it was months back when I first watched this. Goes to show how well you explain the rules to a game.
I really like your videos!
+Niño Hernandez Thank you Niño - I ope you have a great time at the convention!
He must live in canada!
"Abouut" i love it!
He does :)
and the pronunciation of resource with a z lol. Also, that's a "zee", not a "zed" :D. As always, a clear and informative video!
The caaeeeerds. Love the accent. ;)
Heheheh, yes, I've been told this word in particular betrays my Canadian roots :)
Randygandalf95 And before anyone corrects my spelling of neighbours, that's the U.K. spelling.
You're very welcome Joe - so glad it was helpful! And Randy: Yes (as a Canadian, we spell it that way too).
This is AMAZING! Can you please do one for the expansions?! :-)
Glad you enjoyed this - I don't often cover expansions, so sorry I wasn't able to help with this.
I hope you still don't have those doubts about your content, you are fantastic at this. My go to source for trying to learn games :)
Thank you kindly John!
Just bought this and about to play it over the weekend with some friends. The rule-book in the box is so confusing. You have made it SUPER easy to understand and it looks so much fun to play!!! Thank you for making such a concise guide to the game!!!
You're very welcome, I hope you have a great time with it this weekend!
As a father and someone that isn’t very skilled in teaching an 8 yr old how to play this kind of card game - this is by far the best tutorial on the internet. Amazing job and thank you for bringing some fun to our home - care of this video!
So glad this was helpful - so glad you're having fun playing!
This is my first time watching a video of yours and I could not have asked for a better walk through on how to play this game. The written instructions were so convoluted that my husband and I gave up...but now I can't wait to start playing. Thanks.
I'm very late replying to this, but thank you so much for saying so Andrea!
Great job!
Sal Conz Hey Sal, thanks for making the time to leave such kind feedback - great to hear you enjoyed the video!
I'm so pleased to hear this video was helpful - hope you guy are able to get playing and building your civilizations soon :)
Been trying to work out how to work this out for a week. This video was very clear. I now completely understand. Thank you.
Oliver Dentith Glad you found it helpful Oliver!
brushing up on games that I haven't touched for years for the world series of board games. It's amazing to see this far back into the past of your channel. It's odd to realize that I never saw any videos from your first few years.
Hope you enjoyed the trip in the time machine :)
May very well be the best "how to play" video for 7 Wonders that is available. Great job Rodney!
That's very kind of you to say Brian - glad you liked it!
Was baffled at our first attempt this afternoon, but this really helped us get over the bump. Played 4 in a row tonight and we are totally hooked. Thanks.
So glad you enjoyed Ali :)
I love your explanation of this game. I've seen it but never played it. After watching I feel I could open it up and start playing very quickly and know what I'm doing.
Thank you for the kind words Mark!
Big old throw back to a time before boardgames entered my life… but now introducing Laura to the game and this holds up! Nicely done Rodney! Nice to see things havent changed!
Nice to know it still holds up :)
So helpful!! Just stumbled upon this vid and it made SO MUCH MORE SENSE than the paper rules. Glad you’re still making vids and helping people have fun!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Hey Andrew, I started some game nights thanks to your channel. I’m watching this video because we’re considering 7 wonders as our next game. It’s cool to see how much you’ve grown as a TH-camr from this video to the more recent ones. Thanks for your work!
Nice to see you checking out one from the early days - if you get a chance to try this one, I hope you enjoy!
Hi Watch It Played,
yesterday me and my girlfriend watched this video and I have to say that it really helped a lot tot, because it is easier if someone shows how to play the game then reading all the instructions. Keep up the good work!
So from now on whenever we will need help - we now where to go!
Thanks! =)
great to have you here Leonardo, and very nice to know the video was helpful!
Great video! Thanks for the step by step detail. Your energy and sense of humor keep the video keep it from getting too dry.
Thank you kindly David!
Thank you so much for explaining, in detail, each part of this game! Reading the directions made my head spin, but this video made me realize how easy this game is!
I'm really glad the video was a help to you!
I read the manuals then i watch these videos from watch it played...ALWAYS a treat to have everything explained with something to watch to clarify. Trust me I learned MANSIONS OF MADNESS from here lol...
Great to hear we've been helpful - thanks!
I caught your comment on Twitter, but also here - so a double thanks to you for taking the time to share a kind word of encouragement!
Thank you for the instructions! 10 years later, instructions are still not clear and your video is helping so much
Very glad to know this was helpful Anya!
Thank you so much! We received this game as a wedding gift, and finally got to playing it last night. First we cracked open a bottle of wine, then watched your video, and we were able to get playing right away instead of slowly reading the manual and stumbling through it. This was super helpful!
Wine and games - that's the way to do it!
Watching this in 2021. Thank you for breaking down the game in such a clear and concise manner.
You're very welcome - never too late to learn a great game - have fun paying!
I got this game as a chrismas gift and this video saved our game. Thank you
You're very welcome! Have a great time playing!
I use this series pretty regularly to decide whether or not I will add a game to my shelf. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the good work!
Thank you Nick, very nice to have you watching.
Thanks for being here all this time!
Thanks for the brilliant instructions, we were struggling to get started but watched your very clear and well paced instructions and you set us going. We loved the game, great family time over Christmas.
So glad this was helpful Clare - so glad you're all enjoying the game!
Great to see you back in the archives Joe :) I'll pass your instructions onto Luke!
Lol I did actually pass out from fatigue watching this, 2 times. But I started watching it at 1 AM. But really clear tutorial, I think I''ve got the jist now. Thanks.
You like a challenge - absorbing information at 1am isn't easy! :)
Hey man, just got this game along with Dead of Winter and found myself incapable of understanding the games through reading the manuals. You sir are so helpful and will definately be my go to game explanation channel as I can competently play (and explain) both games now. Thanks alot and please keep making these videos!
wowDazzle Thank you Dazzle, very pleased to hear you found the videos helpful!
This was a really amazing instructional video, thank you so much. Like the pinned comment, I had given up on the game due to the confusing rulebook. It's been sat on a shelf for two years unplayed. Really looking forward to playing my first game now with my family in isolation.
So glad the video was helpful, and I hope you all have a great time playing!
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks! I also watched the gameplay videos, you have a wonderful family :) Best wishes to you all
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks! I also watched the gameplay videos, you have a wonderful family :) Best wishes to you all
Hey Rodney, I just wanted to say that I watched this series a while ago and decided I really needed to add this game to my collection. Well I did and since, it became the most favorite game among friends. So thanks for all of this, I probably wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't watched it played!
So nice to know that you ended up enjoying this game!
Your videos are so helpful, thank you for doing what you do to put these videos out. My wife and I just played this last week with friend and had no idea what was going on, now it make perfect sense! Thanks so much
That's really great feedback, so glad to hear the videos are helping!
Excellent video. Watched it twice and feel I've got a good understanding of how to play; the game arrives today and I can't wait to try having seen this! Thank you
You're very welcome - have a great time playing!
Fantastic video. We spent too much time trying to use the terrible instructions that came with the game. This video was concise and entertaining. Thanks.
Really nice to know this was helpful!
As usual, Rodney does a great job, clear and concise. Thumbs up!
Very kind of you to say - thanks!
I hope you all had fun playing Gabriel :)
hi again. i'd say this is your best intro vid yet. loved the 'fake' ending. from my experience as a Magic player, i'm gonna suggest a 'hate-drafting' move, which means you choose a card that would be valuable to other players. in this case, take the brick (Guard Tower). both Luke and Andrea need it to build their wonders AND i'm sure Luke is going to go the military route so denying him Military can't hurt AND it can't hurt to have some Military ourselves.
Thank you so much! I watched this and all three ages videos, liked, and subscribed. Extremely well explained!
So nice to know this was helpful Elizabeth!
Awesome straightforward video with clear instructions and not wasting time. Thank you for this. Subbed!
Thank you for the kind words! Hope you find several other games on here that you might enjoy learning :)
Excelent explanation, we were struggling at the beginning but after finding your video, it was so much easier. Thanks!
Very glad to have been able to assist! Hope you have a great time playing.
Very glad to know this was helpful - have a great time playing!
Wow, the *sequencing* you chose to explain the various elements of the game was flawless! You are a master of pedagogy! I'll definitely follow your teaching recipe when I introduce this game to my own group :)
Thanks and I hope it helps Danival!
wow it IS A LOT but i rely on your amazing instruction just to get through the game. i've watched it more than once. thanks for the very needed help
You've got this - have a great time playing Kelly!
@@WatchItPlayed thanks that went way better!!! you rock
Sir I used to watch your all videos on board games...Really nice and clear way to explain each and every aspect of games.like to watch videos again and again
So nice of you to say!
