    I have been using it for about 5 months and I've figured out some ways to keep the soap longer. Being a college student in a community dorm, I have to put the bar of soap in a Ziplock bag, but when I'm finished using the soap, I wring out all the water from the bag and keep it open. This lets the soap dry until the next use. One thing I love about their soaps is that they lather VERY well. Go over your body with the bar of soap once, then put the soap away. Lather what is left of the soap on your body and it will cover everything with suds. I even noticed that when I used that trick the smell of the soap stays longer when I'm done showering.

      I bought the soap saver and they are awful. Soap fuses to them (I have two) and it can be extremely hard to remove. One time It chipped the wood under the soap it was so attached. The green gripper is awesome. Now I turn the soap green gripper side down and place it on the wood soap saver. I use 2 bars depending on how much or no exfoliating I want that day. They seem to last me a fair amount of time.

    Lasts a week? Are you showering right? Are you storing the soap correctly? You can’t keep all natural soap wet, it has to dry off to preserve it due to the natural ingredients breaking down overtime. If you’re standing under the water while you lather you are rinsing off the soap faster than you can use it. Turn the water off as you lather to get more bang for your buck. You also don’t need to use a lot of the soap, just a little rub here and there and the lather will spread. Mine lasts a couple months and I shower daily. But I guess to each their own 🤷‍♂️

    I've been using this soap for several months now, have yet to see a bar disappear in a week. If you're lathering up several times in one shower, I can see why it'll go fast. I like their scents far better than most other brands I've tried and even the packaging is something I really like. As for the shipping, I wait about a week each time. They have small selections available at Walmart and Target (that I've seen so far) so you don't have to wait any longer than a trip to the store for some but I've yet to see my preferred choices in stock. The bars are $7 a pop unless you subscribe and you get a small discount.

    I hate to be the bearer of great news but here it is.
    1. Dont shower with the ENTIRE BAR OF SOAP, when you go into war you dont take the entire armory, you take the essentials M18 with a m1911 and frag grenades.
    2. Cut the bar of soap in half man, save the rest for later.
    3. Use a loofah, dont get the soap under the running water, what you wanna do is wet your hands then grab the soap and then rub the soap against the loofah making a nice lather.
    4. Once you get a nice lather carefully place the soap somewhere where water isnt going to splash it, definetly not underneath the dam faucet, if you so mich as nick the soap under the shower water it will wear away 2% gaster for every 10 seconds under the water.
    5. For a full wash you will need to re apply the soap methood on the loofah 3 times but that is ok because that loofah methood is 72%% more efficient then taking the entire bar of soap with you.
    6. Profit and laugh in the face of Dr. Squatch

    • @BaldandStrong
      @BaldandStrong  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great points here! couple follow ups...
      1. True- Though you wouldn't need the entire armory if you had the perfect weapon from which would assure your victory the first time.
      2. This one is clever I will admit that!
      3. Personally I'm not a loofah guy, tried it once and it wasn't pretty. That being said I know loofahs are great for many people. It's all about preference and individual functionality.
      4. Is there a linear correlation on the math? Like only 1% reduction for each 5 seconds under water? asking for a friend lol
      5.Does each of the 3 re applications equal a third of the body each time? If feel like the answer is yes here...lol
      6. I do like profits!

      @@BaldandStrong the loofah is what spreads around the soap real nicely thats the trick to saving the soap, once you rub the soap on the loofah the part that xame off the soap isnt wasted, instead its actually applied evenly through the loofah into your body and yes i noticed if you do that 3 times its usually enough to get all your body, half the bar usually can last me 2 weeks in this case 1 month for an entire bar now thats what i call gains 💪

    Something to note...it’s soap with nature found ingredients, it’s not gonna last as long in water as the soaps made with chemical ingredients, in fact some of the ingredients in said Chem Soaps make them last longer, yet also make them unsafe for the chemistry of our bodies, there are pros and cons with everything, everything’s gonna be a trade off, “natural soaps” clean with less chemically harmful ingredients yet are more costly and don’t last long when sitting in water, while “synthetic soaps” last longer, are cheaper, yet contain some biologically unsafe ingredients...a fix for the water issue i can say is by getting a soap holder that allows water to drip off it(which is provided/offered by Dr Squatch on their website), or drying it off with a towel

      If synthetic soaps introduced chemicals to your body that are harmful, the FDA would not let them hit the shelves because that means they are potentially dangerous, especially to children. "Chemicals" is a buzzword used to scare people into buying a product, and the chemicals used in synthetic soaps are for scents, preservation and killing off bacteria just like hand sanitizer would. And yet you don't see people remarking about the hand sanitizer they love to use.
      That's what nobody tells you because it's bad for the branding of natural products, not only that but they're obsolete. Dr. Squatch is vague about "chemicals" but fails to mention what the chemicals are because it's potentially bad for business.
      It's like a gypsy scam artist selling you a crystal for "good energy" while explaining that modern medicine introduces toxins to your body. Toxins is another buzzword that doesn't mean anything in that specific context, because anything quantifiable that shows side effects can potentially be toxic to your body in excess, but people don't know any better so it sells because they become afraid. It's an underhanded and dishonest tactic to garner more interest and cash flow.

    I'm loving it, but I am noticing the bar is disappearing rather fast. I assume it's because they have on 5 ingredients that are highly soluble. Other soaps likely have binders and lathering agents that increase the longevity. I complained about how long the soap lasts when I first started using Squatch. I actually wend on amazon and bought a soap shelf for my shower that is far away from the direct flow of water, and is able to dry on all sides between uses. I only shower once a day of course, but these bars are stretching about 2 weeks for me now. If you're looking for comparable soaps with a WAY larger selection, cheaper price, and better shipping windows, I suggest "The Soap Guy". And they last a bit more than squatch. Only catch is, order minimums are 12 bars. So that's around $40 after shipping. So that's more than DOUBLE the soap for the same price. I still love squatch though. Bay Rum is too good to completely break up with them, and I've completely switched to their deodorant. It's expensive, but its too good

    What they don’t tell you is that this is a cold car soap. If you keep it in a steamy shower you will melt it faster. Use it in the shower then keep it in a cool spot, don’t let it sit in the shower as you steam up the place for 20 mins

    I started using their product 1 week ago and so far all good.
    I primarily bought it for the deodorant, as others would cause stains and bad smell over time. I received my shipment in 1 weeks' time and I live in Canada.
    Also, the soap is not really shrinking yet so I do not know how you use it but I do make sure to try and just pass it on my skin after I have soaked it to quickly stop using it, as I had heard about this from other reviews. But again, so far the soap is pretty much as I bought it.
    Try to make sure no more water makes contact with the soap after use.

    Using the bar normally - 8-10 showers
    Cut in half 10 -13 showers

I found with the soap is you CANNOT let it sit in water or it will disappear so fast. I put mine in a ziplock bag and thread it through my wire hanging shower caddy upside down with it open, so like the soap is what keeps it from going through the bars and the upside-down open ziplock allows for the water to not hit it/run out of the bag. I also cut the bars in half and only use part of it at a time. DUDE I LOVE their deodorant, is amazing. It works better for me than axe or oldspice, but it is THICK and can get on clothes.

      From what I'm gathering its not worth it according to most reviews on here. I'm going to look at soap guys reviews and a few others I can find before I get something and watch my money go down the drain.

    I know this is a year later, but I can now get Dr. Squatch pretty much everywhere, including Walmart. You do have to go to the special makeup section to find it, though. It's not with the rest of the soaps in the general hygeine-and-hair area.

    Thanks for this review. 10 washes. I’m out. I’m not paying $7 a week for soap no matter how much better it may be. I’ve used chemical soaps for 45 years. I guess I’ll continue. Lok

    The first time I got soap from them I got pine tar it was rock hard but lathered well and lasted quite awhile. The second time it was soft and lasted half as long.
    I think the original bar had sand in it and the later ones had oats. because of this the bar breaks in to tiny pieces really early.

    If your soap is getting soft and mushy, you're handling it wrong...or rather, poorly. Never leave it sit in water or where it is constantly wet. If you are only getting 10 washes from a bar of soap...you're probably using far more than needed to do the job. As others have pointed out, allow the soap to dry between washes (use a wire soap dish that doesn't hold water), don't leave it sitting in the shower spray, and allow the soap to be fully cured before using. It might just be me, but I'd think grown men should have the sense to know how to not only wash their own a***s, but also how to properly use their soap.

    Squatch hack: cut the bars in quarters. Each little square lasts almost as long as the whole thing. I get 24-28 showers out of one bar. That’s about 2 weeks, which isn’t the worst for $7.

    "I was worried about running out of soap" ... Maybe you should plan better? That's like blaming traffic because you left your house at the last minute and end up late for work. Like, dude really? You know how long shipping takes. I'm out of country and know how long my shipping takes. Have never worried about running out because I do the smart thing. Plan your ordering accordingly. That said, I believe your TRUE problem lies with your next statement;
    "Only get about 10 washes" ... My man, you're doing something wrong. Organic soap requires special care, unlike that stuff you're probably used to which is made with chemicals designed to preserve it. You know, like how "wonderbread" lasts 3 months when fresh REAL bread barely lasts a week? Organic soap needs to be kept dry, which is why Squatch also sells a cedar soap stand. Keep the soap on your plastic shelf in the tub surround, or even worse on the edge of the tub itself, and it'll likely vanish all on it's own. Put it on that cedar soap stand, or an equivalent, which is designed to allow the soap to dry quickly after a shower and stay dry. It'll last a hell of a lot longer... Seriously most TH-cam reviewers, who are doing it right, barely notice any bar missing after 2-3 weeks because they've taken proper care of the soap.
    All in all bud I think most of the problems you're having are of your own doing. You are right though, you aren't most channels. Those other channels are actually following the guidelines for the care and maintenance of the soap before criticizing them. Maybe you should too. Looking forward to an updated review in another 6 months, if you care to try to prove me wrong.
    ....and no, I don't have any affiliation with Dr.Squatch. I'm not even American, but I am a mechanic (and bald) so I don't skimp on cleanliness. I use their products (over a year now) and those other reviews are far more accurate than yours. This stuff actually lasts a long time, when taken care of, and is way better than other soaps that I've tried. The pine tar one, specifically, scrubs off grime way better than most of those pumice citrus hand cleaners most shops provide. I'll also usually get a little over a month out of a bar (full-body scrub, 2-3 times daily). Cold Brew Cleanse is also pretty awesome. Scrubbing with coffee beans while supporting fire fighters? Like seriously? Win-win situation! Come on man, get serious with your reviews.

      Thank you for your feedback, couple of things though...
      1. On planning ahead, good point I should just place my second order as soon as my first arrives on my doorstep. Noted. I'm not sure where you live but if I was not in the same country as a manufacturer I would expect shipping to take longer. Not a handful of states away.
      2. Of course I don't leave the soap where it's going to get soaking wet and stay soaking wet. Figured out when i was about 12 that will make soap go fast. I kept the soap on a soap saver the whole time.
      3. Full body scrub 2-3 times a day is a lot! You definitely keep clean, which is great, don't get me wrong. But how hard are you scrubbing to get clean if you get a month out of a bar?

    • @JodianGaming
      @JodianGaming 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BaldandStrong ... Ok, your sarcasm is noted and appreciated. Let me rebut a little bit on the topic;
      1. Planning accordingly doesn't mean ordering the second your order arrives. That's a little silly. It means ordering according to the shipping time it takes to normally receive the product. Just because it's only traveling a few states doesn't mean it should be there tomorrow. You have no idea the logistics behind their company. Might take a bit to process orders, maybe they save money by shipping in bulk orders instead of single orders, you don't know. Point is, instead of acting spoiled because you can't get it tomorrow simply plan accordingly.
      2. If you use a soap saver than the problem must be...
      3. Yea I shower most days twice (once before work and once after). Morning scrub is just to freshen up, for the most part. After work scrub is the deep clean, which a mechanic needs. That said, you don't have to sit there scrubbing the same part of your arm or chest like 500 times with your bar of soap while standing in the stream of water. Once you have lather, step out of the water and scrub with either your bare hands or a good shower brush (which is what I have). That's all you need! Lather = Soap! Simple concept, right? Why waste the bar using it as a sandpaper block during your whole shower?!
      I'm assuming that's your problem...
