Rot 42 Rev 60 is about 1350, and Rot 58 Rev 65 is ca 1500. 150 years for 5 Revolutions. One Revolution is thus ~30 years on Earth. At start of observation, average life-span was therefore ~45 years. It appears the Watchers also include infant mortality in their average lifespan calculations. I am disappointed, but encouraged that such an advanced species could make the same mistakes in data aggregation as us…
@ They are… I was saying that they gave us enough information to determine what the ratio is, at least roughly, between the alien species’ timekeeping and ours.
The '76 Steelers game was before WW 2? No that stadium sports event would have been the Berlin Olympics in '36 (or was it '38)... Like in the movie Contact.
why did it say uploaded 1 minute ago, but youtube thinks I've already watched 7 minutes? Is there issues with youtube today? My comments box is weird too.
"I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement" - So Logan Paul was an alien all along!
''Well at least they stopped now, i hope they learn from their mistakes...''

Tbh early humans did not really live that long either, with all the things out doing their best to kill us.
I was thinking that rotations in revolutions are their own time units based on their own solar system.

Long and slender ship? I think Oumuamua. And right now it’s heading out of the solar system…
Ok. I propose we fasttrack project Lyra. Maybe we could give him back some of the tech he was forced to leave behind - as a sort of peace offering?
The flip side of that story where a human couple watch an entire civ evolve to space age in their freezer.
Got it. So Oumuamua was a starship
Imagine part 2 where we contact the watchers and ask for tech
we contact the watchers and OFFER tech
In a span of an average human life, one could witness the Wrights Bros' first powered airplane to watching Neil Armstrong landing on the moon.
Really? A space faring civ never heard of fusion power?
Nice to see that the watchers also got to enjoy the ‘76 Steelers. 😂

Hale bopp? Or apophis? As the ship to pick them up?
Omuamua
@wstavis3135 right on, thanks. Man this hfy community is pretty great!
Considering that the ending has been has been left adrift, a sequel/proper ending is sorely needed.......author, please do so........
Okay how did he get himself a painting
