- Many Christians wonder if speaking in tongues, prophecy, gifts of healing, and casting out demons are for today, or a thing of the past? The bible is very clear on this topic. In todays video we show biblical passages that endorse spiritual gifts and also produce a compelling argument that they are for today.
We had fun in making this video, and I personally tried to keep it on the lighthearted side, rather than insulting or personally attacking anyone. However, this issue can cause a lot of division and we hope to bring clarity and unity into the body of Christ instead.

Cessationism is wrong. They are deceived. The greatest miracle is people getting saved, and yet they say other miracles have stopped. Ridiculous. Jesus Christ said that we will do more than He did through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Word of God and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Holy Spirit is water, it's everywhere, all the time. There's only difference in dry and rainy seasons, rivers and deserts.

Prophecy is speaking the word of God. There is no new revelation of God. We have the full revelation of God.

The prophets have spoke and the Apostles laid the doctrinal foundation of the church thus the canon of scripture is complete. Anyone saying thus says the Lord and it isn't written in scripture is a liar and a Blasphemer.
I understand where you’re coming from. I believe prophecy should be supported by scripture and always point people back to Jesus. However, if prophecy was merely speaking scripture, why does Paul tell us to test everything but only hold what is good? Is there bad scripture? Why does he tell multiple people to prophesy in 1 Cor 14? Prophecy isn’t just speaking scripture, but should be supported by it. But yeah, I get it, it’s not just saying “thus says the lord” about whatever you feel like saying. I’m not encouraging that and nothing I’ve said encourages that. Many have abused it and that’s unfortunate but that’s not what I’m advocating.

I believe that these people who argue these foolish things are severely lacking in the Spirit, and are walking in pride and teaching according to their own head knowledge and doctrines of men. The Spirit leads and guides unto all truth... But when we deny Him we deny ourselves the opportunity to truly know Him.
The very testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy. God does not change... And the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and who worked in and through the early church, is the same Spirit who abides in God's elect today.
You hit the nail on the head when explaining 1 Corinthians 13... They tend to use that as an explanation as to why they believe the gifts have ceased... They believe that the perfect is the cannon. Not realizing that perfection or completion is the fulfillment of His word... when we are perfected and all things are made known at His coming.
Matter of fact Spiritual gifts will actually increase and already are as we enter into these last days just as the deceptions of the enemy will. But if the gifts ceased them why does Daniel speak of the saints doing great feats in the last days? By what power will God's witnesses prophesy and testify of the greatness of God and do miraculous signs and wonders in His name in the very last times? These will operate under the fullness of the Spirit... the same Spirit that rested upon Elijah, Elisha and John the Baptist...to prepare a people prepared for the coming of the Lord.
I can go on and on with scripture to refute that erroneous doctrine... but you're right, the gifts have not at all ceased. God is revealing truth to those who are willing to hear... The key word is "Willing".

These people never take scripture in the context of which it was written. They need prayer. I think some have been misled, but some are sent through demonization to distract people from an intimate experience through Christ with His Holy Spirit. 🙏

There's been WAY too many people claiming they know the Word of God and divide us. This is exactly why we need to stay in the Word and not rely only on our pastors to guide us. Exactly. This is amazing. This is all I am not yet versed enough to say publically to his church but your videos are helping me. I have been a Christian for 35 years and God has awakened gifts in me as I have finally moved towards Gods purpose in my life. He is doing something new and waking up those that are willing.
Bad logic plus selective scriptures will get you nowhere with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is "men" who say that God "started off" with spiritual gifts "to prove the Apostles," but NOW we have "the Scriptures."
Why, then does Paul say that the "gifts" are for the BODY OF CHRIST? 1Cor 12.7-11. He doesn't even mention "apostles," does he?
Then THEY say "No one ever believed because of a miracle!" Well, that's a whopper!!! Miracles is WHY Jesus got noticed at all!
HE even says as much; "...or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves." John 14.9-11. He promised that WE
would "do greater works." FAITHLESS people will ALWAYS be ignored by God. Miracles happen ALL over the world EXCEPT
in this evil "religious" country. Go ahead! Call Jesus a liar! I say, get away from Reformed teaching!

Your teaching is solid and uplifting . The things I have experienced over the last 40 years are supernaturally good . God has put me on the spot in many situations where I had nothing to give someone but what God provided. I was just the delivery boy and I like it that way .

aside from the 5 fold ministries being mentioned, there is the fact that stephen was known for his signs and wonders.. and yet was not an apostle. the only gifts that have ceased are amoung the faithless.

And honestly, it's very difficult to view these people as "our brothers/sisters in Christ". Very difficult to love people that are so determined they are right and spend more time blasting other people online than reading the Word of God and humbling themselves. I think some of these people have the greatest of intentions to defend and serve God, like when Paul was killing the Jesus followers, but they are misguided and need gracious and kind push back like this. Only the Holy Spirit can truly change their minds and hearts. Good vid.

Adam, is it possible that the 11 apostles did not come to a complete saving faith till after Jesus resurrected and breath on them the Holy Spirit? Peter did so many things while with Christ and after His death that shows he didn't truly believe on the Lord. Jesus Himself rebuked the 11 for their unbelief several times before and then even after. They, and many others were able to perform miracles because of the power of His name. For some reason, I feel this was revealed to me recently through my much reading of scripture and I feel this is why so many leaders and followers are so messed up in the church today. Cuz they identify with the pre-saved apostles, which will sadly lead so many to hell; "wide is the path...."

IF a person reads the Bible, then what we see is the Fruit & Gifts exist still.....Oversight is done by Elders and not a sole Pastor and "the board" which are essentially businessmen. Modern American Christian expressions are off course. Every believer also has a ministry. The biggest hurdle to American Christianity is the "Tithe" and how it's tied into the job of a Pastor in usually his modern day expression.........Read "Pagan Christianity?" by Frank Viola & George Barna folks, you'll see what I mean.

Please, wanting spiritual experience natural, carnal craving when subtracted from Kingdom of Heaven purpose. Choose the Master you serve. Follow Jesus the Christ and as disciples and then apostles testify. Note, a Book of Acts and not of listeners or debaters or praise/worshippers. Other gods and spirits exist; hence the Israelite God’s laws direct to NOT have OTHER gods before HIM! Humans by nature follow; our existence is an either/or proposition. By whom we follow determines what comes after our physical death.
After baptism, Our Lord set forth towards the Cross AND calling disciples to follow and then in LIKE fashion replicate His Ministry after He left earth. Also with a Holy Spirit baptism. That Spirit empowers witnessing and declaration direction and power. Everything points to its necessity for authentic Church growth. Nothing occurs without it except a stale, non-reproductive deadness. Jesus called the Twelve and like His calling of Lazarus, it bestowed new life! Death occurs and the spirit leaves humanity. The same for any congregation - white-washed tombs.
There is man-made denominational religion, unto which the great bulk of people adhere, despite even the numerous differences between them. And then there is the Church of which Jesus is the Head, the Body of Christ, the Elect who have been called to Zion, the Eternal dwelling place of God.
May we know the difference, and choose to follow Jesus the Way of the Cross.

Prophesies is a very vague term. The scriptures are finished so then what are your prophesies?
When you practice tongues is there someone to interpret as prescribed by scripture.
You seem to avoid this aspect as all do in this vein.
Prophecy is not always, or even primarily, foretelling. The bulk of True prophecy today is speaking forth what the Spirit is unveiling of God's great plan and purpose for Christ (Head and Body) and all Creation, that has been "hidden from the foundation of the world."
The vast majority of "prophets" in denominational religion today are speaking from "the imaginations of their hearts." But there are absolutely those who are hearing from God and growing in understanding of what the Spirit is saying and revealing to God's Elect in this hour.
Yes, the Scripture is finished, but the understanding is not, but will be before the Day of the Lord.

Adam, thanks for another message of truth. We aren't to despise prophetic messages from a person who accurately teaches God's Word. I know it says somewhere if someone prophecies a future event and it doesn't happen, then we aren't to listen to that person anymore.
But, yes, why would Paul place such a high regard on prophecy especially and on the gifts of the Holy Spirit? I, too, have come to believe they are for today by reading the Word, seeking God and asking Him questions, and experiencing them as well.
And it does indeed make our walk with the Lord exciting and alive.

"He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Notice, "Till we all come to the unity of the faith....." Until the Church (not the denominations, but God's Elect) has come "to a perfect man, tot he measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ", then the gifts have not, indeed cannot, cease.
Oh yes, there are many "false prophets" and "false teachers" (as I've been accused of being), but there are the True ones as well. May we have discernment as we truly have "ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches."

So, if an argument is from Scripture, one used to biblically refute an experience say, "I went to Heaven in a cable car and saw Jesus face to face", that man's experience trumps the Word that dismisses such a claim? Or are we at the mercy of every man's claims? How does one make sense of the many claims of heavenly visits in which every one contradicts the other in descriptions of Heaven? That quote leaves one rudderless when Scripture is clear.
