For me, the price killed it. I bought the original half a year ago. Love it. Hate the rolling shutter. And I was absolutely in peace with fact I might just buy the mk2 when it gets out. But for 1000 dollars? I mean, it's bigger, bulkier. The lack of mechanical shutter is kinda shocking. Naah. That's 1000 bucks I can put towards A6700. Bulky as well, but with bells and whistles. I think I pass. Sadly.
Exactly! If I'm going to go with a BIGGER camera that I have to carry around, it should have ALL the features that make it's size and weight what it is! Great comment! Thanks for taking the time to watch and thanks for leaving feedback!👍🏾
I bought my ZVE 10 on sale for 700 dollars with the kit lens. So if I just got the body it would of been only 600. 600 to 1000 for a entry level camera for vloging is kinda crazy lol
@@RunicksYGO 100 percent agree. The lenses have so much more of an impact on the quality of photos than the body. All the Sony ASPC cameras all have the same sensor lol
It's pretty clear that they pulled ibis and mechanical shutter because adding them would cannibalize sales of the two cameras above this with the same sensor. This camera is for anyone who is new to this and wants to try out the Sony system. Imagine a kid with big dreams and only $1K to their name being able to start with the FX30 sensor.
I agree with you! Sony pulled features for specific reasons however, they didn't have to. They could have made some changes that I believe would have bolstered the MKii and actually made it THEE best vlogging camera out. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching!👍🏾
Amazing how good the ZV-E10 mk. 1 is. It has a good sensor from the a6400. It has the mechanical shutter. It is light. It takes great photos (I took photos with it and they are fantastic). It really has everything a vlogger needs. The new menu and rotating menu is very nice and the rotating part should be on all cameras in the future. But the most appealing thing about the ZV-E10 mk. 1 is the price. Well under $1k, it was a steal, especially when Sony had a sale. This mk. 2 version is too close in price to the a6700, yet lacks a lot of what is on the a6700 like the AI chip (that's a biggie for me), the mechanical shutter and the EVF (also a must shooting in bring sunny days). After using my a6700 for a while, I have to say it is one of the best cameras ever made. It's compact, it's like a shrunken down A7R5 with its excellent focusing system backed up the AI chip that really makes it a wonder. Also, it can lock on focus down to insects. The mk. 2 can't and that killed it for me (along with the high price).
Here are the reasons I’m personally looking into the MKii myself over the A6700: Other videos have shown the stabilization (especially using catalyst) do a great job for what I need it for and not worth the extra cost to get IBIS. The MKii 3 capsule microphone over the 6700 after reading that the 6700 mic is basically useless outside with any slight wind. Buying an external mic to an already expensive camera is simply not in my budget. Product showcase mode on the MKii and the 6700 doesn’t have it.
So grateful for your review and the work you put into this video. Thanks! I'm thinking I'll stick with my ZV-E10 and put the extra money towards a gimbal or something. :) You're awesome - thanks again!
I'm glad the review was beneficial to you! I think I would do the same honestly if I were you! I just can't see the value in this camera given the other options that are out there. I wish you NOTHING but the best in all you do! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!👍🏾
Yep, and it’s no slouch when With mechanical shutter that was left out of the Mk2. The whole reason to have a camera and this design is taken advantage of photographs and there’s a disadvantage and some LED lighting. Where is LED not at now everywhere.
I totally agree with you. I want to fall in Love with my Mk1 ZV-E10. I've pimped it with a cage, Barn doors, bigger batteries, bigger screen, but it just is not asking me to use it. So forget Mk2. Stabilisation (IBIS) would've been a game changer maybe. I'm going Canon.
Some cameras may not be what you need however, I find this to be VERY rare occurrence. Most of the time (in my experience with creating and talking to other creators) the issue is that we lack inspiration. We look for the camera to give us the inspiration to shoot however this isn’t an effective way to create! If I were you (although you didn’t ask for advice) I would take all of the accessories OFF of my camera except for the bare necessities like battery, 🔋 lens, mic 🎤 and go out to shoot something. Before I did that, I would get off TH-cam for at least a week! Take my camera out each day , in its bare bones configuration and see what I captured inspires me. If there’s still no inspiration, the camera isn’t the issue. The camera is ONLY an issue when you HAVE inspiration BUT the camera LIMITS you from expressing your creative ideas! 💡 You may need to clear your mind! I have to do this from time to time to keep my creativity flowing! I wish you NOTHING but the best! Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
The Sony ZV-E10 MKii is merely a marketing gateway to the A6700. I see people arguing about buying an A6700, which is more than twice as expensive as the original ZV-E10.
I agree! The Sony ZV-E10 is truly a one of a kind camera in Sony’s lineup. The MKii in my opinion isn’t a TRUE upgrade more than a camera to introduce new features. Can it be used for vlogging…sure however, it doesn’t point to a direct use case the way the original ZV-E10 did. All the MKii did was solidify the MKi as being a standout camera. 🤷🏾♂️
Thank you for the video. I find no justification to give up my ZVE10 for the Mark II. I would rather get the A6700 and keep the original as a 2nd cam and invest in lenses. The extra features don't warrant the cost placement. I was originally thinking of FX30 but I believe A6700 is the clear winner from all of this. Else simply invest on lenses for the original ZV E10 if you own that already (like me). Btw, love your channel. Its FAR from dead mate
I have the zv-e10 (orginal recipe) and the a6700. I was hoping that SONY would keep the form factor small like the original and add some of the critical features you mentioned. However, for the money, I would just add another a6700. The a6700 is the best all around camera in my opinion. Very good video capabilities and a great photo camera also. I usually have the a6700, the Osmo pocket 3 and my iPhone in my daily carry, so I'm ready for anything. Your channel, tips and reviews are great! Keep the content coming!
I 100% agree with you! I am considering picking up a A6700 for photography and video use. I think it would be a good camera that has all the good bits of what Sony has done over the years! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Thank you for the video 😊 I almost bought the e10 a month and a half ago when it was on sale but heard the m2 was coming so I thought I’d wait but this solidified my decision to just get the m1 like I originally planned to ✨
Thanks for the feedback! I am glad the video was beneficial to you in choosing the best camera for you! You may want to check out some used models that may be bundled with other accessories to get more bang for your buck! I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!👍🏾
lol I was planning to buy it, I did research into it soon as it came out. Realized it would be trash for what I needed. Decided to get the canon r6 mark ii instead
Good choice! The Canon R6 is a great camera that you can't go wrong with! I wish you success with your camera and in all that you do! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
I am glad you found the review helpful. I agree with you, there are no perfect cameras but I can’t tell people to buy this for the sake of sales.. 🤷🏾♂️ There are some who have found uses for this camera and for those people I am very happy! MOST people will be 100% fine with the MKi ZV-E10! Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your feedback! 👍🏾
I am glad the review was beneficial to you! That's the whole reason I do this channel! I will share with you my philosophy on waiting for cameras. There is almost NO TIME when I will suggest waiting for a camera. ESPECIALLY when the specs and features aren't 100% known and here's why. I'll use the Sony ZV-E10 Mkii as an example. March 2024 was the first time I heard about the MKii ZV-E10 coming out. There were no specs of features, just rumors. Let's say I wanted to buy a ZV-E10 to start my TH-cam channel but heard this rumor. I will have waited for 3 whole months just to be in a situation where the camera doesn't fit my needs. Now I am 90 days behind finding clients, building relationships and growing my business. If I made 3 videos a week to start I am now roughly 50 VIDEOS behind learning how to use TH-cam and discovering my audience. My point is that knowing HOW you are going to use the camera is the most important thing. Once you know HOW you are going to use it, choose one that works for you quickly. The camera is NOT going to make your content WAAAAY better, your skills will! Spend A LOT of time developing your skills and less time choosing a camera! I hope this helps.! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! 👍🏾
I am glad to hear that the video was beneficial to you! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching and supporting the channel!👍🏾
Thanks for this video, I am currently using the Zv-1 and Gopro for filming. Gopro is used when going handhold and Zv-1 is used for main camera (only when using tripod though) you get seasick watching that thing going handhold. Anyway I got some welding splatter on the lens so i guess its time to buy a new one. So i was thinking about the ZV-E10 II or Sony ZV-E10, but i guess i'm going with the older E10 after watching this
Or if you can afford it, go for the A6700. I will give you more for your money! I am glad the video was beneficial to you! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 👍🏾
It really depends on a few things. What’s your budget? Do you already have other equipment? Have you tried to shoot anything on your iPhone or another device? The reason I ask the last question is because it’s really difficult to KNOW what you need until you attempt to shoot first. Once you shoot, you will have a better sense of what you need to get the results you are after! I will say that lighting and audio are going to be the PRIMARY parts of your podcast. If you don’t have those two things in order, you will face issues. I hope this helps! Thanks for taking the time to watch! 👍🏾
I can't HONESTLY, personally recommend the ZV E10II for anyone to be honest. (Maybe a drone operator). This is due to the price/what you get for that price ratio. If you are looking into doing mostly videos with the features that the ZV E10II has, I would go with the Sony FX30. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!👍🏾
There’s a lot of hype around this camera and I’m not sure why? It has a beautiful image however, the specs don’t match the price in my opinion.. 🤷🏾♂️ Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
100% agree! This isn't an "upgrade" for most people. This is a slightly newer/worse camera than the OG ZV-E10. Thanks for leaving feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
-"Hey Dave are you there?" -"Okay shut up!" Thanks for reassuring me that I don't need to rush out and buy a bigger camera with some new features I won't use. Your vids are great, entertaining, funny and informative, not necessarily in that order.
LoL! I thought I would add a little bit of fun to a video! As far as wanting new gear, don't worry this happens to a lot of us. You get 30 TH-camrs all raving about this NEW and EXCITING camera and they are ALL praising it and saying it's the best thing ever... it kinda makes it hard to now buy into the hype. The average BIG time TH-camr out there doesn't even have the latest camera! A lot are rocking GoPros or iPhones. The camera community are the only ones that obsess over the latest gear.
As always, very good and objective content from you. Thanks for that.👍🏼 I thought pretty much the same thing when I saw the specs of the Mark ii. Greetings from 🇨🇭 Matts
Nice video. This vlog classification from Sony doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean, ZV-E10 is great, I really like it, but if you consider vloging walking around, it is quite bad (catalyst browse works well, but it's super cumbersome, not worth it for people doing that often). The mark II looks ok, but still have the same issue and is much more expensive. For a bit more you get a Sony A6700 which has IBIS and a view finder. Tbh, I think Sony may do this on purpose. Adds one or two things that someone may like it flooding the market with several micro choices so people just buy more cameras once they figure out the one the got was not good for their use case, etc.
Not all vloggers run around holding the camera all the time :) Just think Casey Neistat, often times setting the camera down with a tiny tripod on stuff in the street. A lot of vloggers and content creators do talking head stuff sitting behind a desk or on a couch, camera on a tripod, and this camera would be great for that type of content and could be a really cheap option for a constantly mounted studio camera/overhead camera type setup for tutorials, unboxings etc where ibis is not needed :) And the mark 2 weighing in at 999 for the body, and the a6700 at 1399 for the body the difference of 400 is a bit of cash - so I do think there might be a market here, but maybe not the «running around like a headless chicken»-vlogger crowd ;)
I agree that vlog is a very subject and wide term, so there could be different use cases. Also, I like the zve10 and can see its value, but I feel that camera with such an emphasizes in vlogging that could address the majority of the vlogging style videos to have features like IBIS. Btw, if you look at the marketing materials for zve10, Sony shows many scenarios where the camera is handheld/trip on hand. This can work with supercrop and/or catalyst browse, but not ideal. I guess IBIS would make it too expensive, but for me if the goal is to have a budget setup, I'd keep the zve10 or upgrade to something that can give me a more complete set of features. Anyways, anyone is free to decide what features they need and how to spend their money
Indeed, a gimbal is ideal, but there is the problem with additional cost, size, time to set it up, etc. I still use my zve10 and enjoy it a lot, but it would be nice to have features like IBIS for a more expensive camera or keep the price lower for people who want to start with videography. Looks like zve10 will continue being sold, so people can choose what best fits their needs within their budget
@@batseagull yeah if the premise is one has the original it makes more sense to upgrade, but for those just starting out the 40% extra for a a6700 is a big chunk of chang - and the addition of ibis might have put it maybe at 1199, which is too close to the 1399 for the a6700, which I guess is why it doesn’t have ibis on the zve-10 cams. At the price point of 999 the mark to is a good entry point camera, and the addition off bigger battery (a complain point from many on the mark 1) as well as 10-bit and log and better sensor justifies the markup from the original zve-10 taking the general price increase happening the last 2 years - not ideal, but still not a bad deal for a entry level camera at sub 1000 - and for those wanting or needing the ibis, mechanical shutter and viewfinder the a6700 is the clear choice, so the feature set and omissions on the zve-10 makes sense from a business perspective as well as a practical standpoint :)
Thank you for the amazing video. So I’m new to cameras and been using my iPhone to shoot my PC builds, as a beginner do you recommend the mk 1? Or just jump straight to the mk 2?
I say get the mk1 because it's cheaper to invest in camera lenses. Your camera is only as good as the glass you put behind it. The Tamron 17-70 is best lense for both mk1 and MK2. Unless you value you the extra features, not worth the price difference. You might as well invest in a even better camera body that has IBIS, view finder, etc.
Wait so the only real upgrade is the sensor and they REMOVED mechanical shutter? I have the original ZV E10 and was really considering the MKII, but you’ve convinced me mine is better. Just going to start saving as much as possible and eventually get an FX3. Maybe get an FX30 or keep using my current ZV E10 until my photography business gets up and running.
Yes it's true. They removed the mechanical shutter from the camera. 😕 If you already have lenses for the ZV-E10 I think it's a good idea to go for the A6700 if you want hybrid or the FX30 if you are strictly video. I wish the best for you! Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching. 👍🏾
Yes! To me that was a move in the wrong direction. You may want to look in into the A6700! I think it's a great camera that fills in between the newer cameras. It's got mechanical shutter, viewfinder, the new sensor, new battery and it's not much more than the ZV E-10 ii. Thanks for watching and leaving feedback!👍🏾
2:00 *Jello effect* is a wobbly image caused by vibrations or mouvement of the camera which uses rolling shutter. Experiencing an image distortion if you move your hands quickly or film a rotating propeller is called rolling shutter distortion. Both phenomena are caused by the rolling shutter, but the resulting effect on the image is not the same. The first phenomenon might by corrected by software using gyroscopic data. In order to correct for the second phenomenon, there is no gyroscopic date indicating how fast a propeller was spinning. In order to remove the distorsion, you would need to submit the image to A.I. and hope it‘s able to remove the distorsion and add-in a propeller disc.
I figured I wasn't the only one that went through this as a child! 😂 I do believe this is what Sony did in this instance though! 🥺 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!👍🏾
The mark 2 is not heavier, it's bigger and lighter. I'm not one who has to see everything new and improved. Especially things that work. But key points of improvement are really practical, like the bigger battery. Just this alone is I think huge. I'm sick of batteries quitting right when I don't expect. It does have electronic image stabilization, but I shoot with a tripod. The better sensor and battery sell it for me. The other upgrades are icing.
The camera is lighter (body only), but overall weight with battery and lenses included is in fact heavier. The body is also LARGER. It looks like this is a great camera for you so I recommend buying it. Who cares what I think if it’s perfect for you. 🤷🏾♂️ Thanks for watching. 👍🏾
5:20 I really don‘t understand why you brush aside the biggest advantage of the ZV-E10 MII, the 10 bit sensor. 10 bit allows to use the H265 codec whereas with 8-bit footage, the H265 is quite inefficient in handling image quality, as it is prone to banding artefacts. Once you get outside the studio, the advantages in image quality show. Why stay on 8 bit when even action cams now integrate 10 bit H265 which will look better even if converted to 8 bit and people will quickly get used to that image quality? Most devices support HDR streaming already, anyway. As for vlogging on youtube, it becomes more professional every day.
Thanks for leaving feedback. 10bit 4:2:2 isn’t a NEED in my opinion. A healthy understanding of exposure, lighting and composition will take a person MUCH farther than simply having a 10bit image. In addition, shooting 10bit 4:2:2 slog3 requires a more complex (slower) workflow and knowledge of color spaces, gamut, node trees and other time consuming tasks. Some of the largest TH-camrs aren’t even shooting in 4K! It’s more of a niche thing in my opinion. Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Solid review this one :) But, being in the market for my first camera, to me this feels like it’s geared towards content creators in general than vloggers, and not necessarily the «run around I need ibis» vloggers. So the pricing for cams with this sensor is: - 999 usd for the zve-10 ll (body) - 1398 usd for a6700 (body) - 1798 usd for fx-30 (body) For my use case I need a camera that will primarily be on a tripod in my workshop/studio to do talking heads, be used as an overhead camera for filming tutorials and how to’s, on a tripod or wallmount to film stuff around my shop, handheld or on a tripod to film small product videos/b-roll type product presentations etc etc. so mostly locked off on a tripod or a wallmount or overhead, or handheld with very little fast motion. I will also do product photography indoors, which sort of eliminates the need for a viewfinder. For me this camera sounds spot on for those needs, same picture quality as the fx30 and 6700 *but* at 400 and 800 usd lower price, *with* better battery life *and* a better menu. Compared to the first model it has a much better sensor (and 10-bit) which is great for proper colorgrading on talking heads and product videos and tutorials, but would also be great for more «static shot» filmmaking as well. So I feel this camera might be less geared towards «vloggers» and more towards creators starting out, creators doing more static type shots and on a tight budget looking for a first camera that delivers decent quality, at the same level as a camera that is almost twice as expensive (fx30), and slightly more versatile and flexible in terms of grading than the previous version :) I had my mind set on the a6700 and saving up for it, but this might be a new contender for the type of content I make :)
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia It would be interesting to know, if you where to look at the camera from more of a «content creation»-setting, rather than a vlogger setting (using your own videos as an example: a lot of your videos are made with the camera stationary set on a tripod, filming yourself in the car, on the bed, in your studio, from a distance outdoors, etc) - for that type of production: would it be worth spending *more* money on a a6700 or a fx30, if one doesn’t *really* need the ibis, and added weight is less of an issue (but longer battery life could be a plus) and a viewfinder might be less important since the cam can be monitored via app etc? Is there 400 usd worth of added features with the a6700 in terms of doing more «static» style filmmaking? And are there features missing from the mark 2 that would make the more cinematic type shots and stuff you often do more difficult in terms of practical production? could the lack of features on the mark 2 be «emulated» with an a6700 with ibis turned off to show what to expect from the mark 2 (that would be a great followup-video :D)
@AndreSjoberg the problem is not just ibis people use flash in product photography the fact that they removed mechanical shatter for a 1000$ camera mean no flash. even with ambient light you get banding and artifacts for fast motion or some led lights wildlife sports or product photography it's not worth it mach better off to save the money get the zve10 or a6700 or fuji xs20. the menu is the only real upgrade for the zve10 mark2. they could just do a software update for the zve10 i they trying to justify 300$ more for better battery and better rolling shatter and then they removed the mechanical shatter 😂 it doesn't make sense some could say this is a video centered camra not really for photography but then it doesn't have a ibis so it doesn't really excels at anything then with price of 1000$
@@78amir.j not everyone uses flash for product photography, especially in the segment / target group of a sub 1000 dollar camera more and more use cheap video lights for especially product photography - but: I’m seeing this camera more as a video camera that can take photos in a pinch, and from that perspective you get a bigger battery and better sensor than the original, better operating system/menu, 10-bit video which is better for grading video and some other smaller improvements like the switch for mode instead of button - probably not enough for somebody to upgrade from the original, but more than enough to offer a valid, cheaper alternative to the a6700. it should be capable of delivering as good video quality as the a6700 for 400 less if filming in a controlled «studio setting» is the main usage, and should be good enough to deliver decent product photographs for a small business needing stuff for a website and social media. If one doesn’t need the viewfinder, and are not capturing wildlife and/or lots of moving subjects the mark 2 should so just fine. I would argue that if you are a photographer that uses flash you are probably *not* looking at neither the mark 2 or the a6700 but something in a completely different price range :)
@@AndreSjoberg i was waiting to get zve10 mark 2 then got disappointed now have to get the fuji xs20 or a6700 saying not everyone uses flash or not everyone going too shoot wide life or fast motion or not everyone that shoot video needs a ibis means there r not many people left to buy this camera and even then for thoes people that don't need all that and looking to get this camera i argu they don't really need 10bit color and small improvement they would much better off getting zve10 orginal and use the extra 300$ to get sigma prime lens
Hey! Once again, an excellent video! I'm French, and yet it's your return that I've been waiting for the most. For my part, there's only one thing that could make me switch from zve-10 I to II, and that's 10-bit 4:2:2. Indeed, I love the flexibility offered by flats profiles, but whatever pp I choose (hlg, s-log2, cine2) and whatever my exposure settings, I always have horrible color problems (magenta and green streaks and pixel mush, especially in the blacks) as well as a drop in sharpness. I managed to improve this a little by switching from s-gamut to ITU709 Matrix, but it's still not as good as without pp. So I reluctantly stopped using flats profiles. What do you think of it?
Since you are dealing with an 8bit sensor, you MUST have adequate light to get the VERY best results from it. This is also true with the 10bit sensor as well. LIGHTING is going to be the KEY to getting the best out of the OG ZV- E10. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Great video! I was learning towards this since I have the ZV1 Mark 2 but i thought the E10 Mark 2 will fill the void with IBIS since I do vlog but also a little bit of photography but based on how I use my camera the more I use it, ZV 1 Mark 2 is great fit for me with no rolling shutter and etc
I just ordered the MII. Also a wide angle prime lense and the kit lense. Hope dont regret it. Dont plan much video anyway. 😮 just starting, so…wish me luck
I am sure you are excited about getting started! So you will mostly be doing photos? Thanks again for stopping by to watch and thanks for leaving feedback!👍🏾
This is literally the perfect camera for FPV drones and it was totally unintentional on sonys part. IBIS and FPV Drones dont mix. So its a plus for us with no IBIS, 10 bit, internal gyro, good dyanmic range, 4k 60, 370 grams w battery and sd card. Love the a6700 and probably would like the fx30 too but unfortunately I cant strap those cameras too my drones without tons of microgitters in the footage. Literally we have been limited to either the black magic 4k/6k or cinema cams much larger which requires a much larger fpv drone.
I’m glad to hear this camera is very valuable to a group of people out there! I’m all for tech making peoples lives better! Thanks for sharing this info, it’s something I was something I wasn’t aware of! Thanks for leaving your feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Technically, the ZV E10 mark-i is the superior product overall. The mark-ii is overpriced and does not offer anything substantial over the mark-i for the price. The mark-i is a champ and is truly value for money. Very nice video.
Two steps forward and one step backwards. As a E10 owner i am not giving it up, now that the E10 II doesn't have IBIS AND the mechanical shutter. I guess Sony want people to use it mainly as a vlog camera by removing the mechanical shutter, but then why did they not add IBIS? I don't think it will cut into the sales of 6700. Another big miss in E10 II: no AI chip.
I 100% agree! I think if someone is going to buy a new camera they should either get the OG ZV-E10 or the A6700 if they want the updated features. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
ZV-EV10ii is knocking on the doorstep of the A6700 in price by a small margin. I agree. Bypass the EV10ii and be future proof with A6700 or the FX30. FX30 for me because of the fan. No overheating worries for 4K videos,
Nice video. Mk ii is booty. a6700/FX30 offer so much more for the little price difference that is TOTALLY justified for their extra features. Ibis, mechanical shutter, AI chip, EVF for the a6700. Pro body and features on FX30.
I think it fixes two major problems with the ZV-E10 and that would be battery life and rolling shutter. If I was getting this as my first camera I would pick it over the original. However there is also the Pocket 3 which I think would be better for walk around vloging. I wish the price was $799 but it is what it is.
I understand where you are coming from! I think the DJI system as a whole is a great system to look into! They are doing some interesting things there! At the end of the day, what works best for your workflow is going to be the BEST camera to get! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave your feedback! 👍🏾
Can someone help me. i am truck driver want to make videos. Does electronic or rolling shutter matter for recording videos. I will not take any photos. Outside and Low light videos mostly.
100% Definitely worth upgrading (and I don't even own the first gen of this camera). $300 difference - 4k60 10 bit 422, larger Z battery, new 26mp sensor, vertical user interface with new menu, and import LUTs. Who's it made for? The run and gun content creator who needs to get content up quickly and BTW, takes some pretty good photos too. Sounds like a great travel/street/edc camera for under $1000... Yeah, no EVF, IBIS or mechanical shutter is a bummer, but that's why there's another option called the 6700.
I would have to strongly disagree with this statement. You are getting LESS camera in many ways for MORE money when you compare it to the Original ZV-E10 when it was launched. This is a video I recently did explaining my opinion on why the Original ZV-E10 is still worth it. Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Keeping my Sony FX30 for video and ZVE10 with mechanical shutter for photos with my many Sony APSC f1.8 lenses. Still hoping for an APSC FX50? for better low light video, but that may still be a year away.
I think I would make the same move that you are making. This way you get the best of both worlds. A lightweight camera with mechanical shutter and a mini cine camera for when you want to go big with production! Thanks for commenting and thanks for taking the time to watch as well!👍🏾
I was waiting for so long for this camera. I’m so bummed. It’s either a A6700 or an S5ii now. I’d be done with an S5ii, I just really don’t want a full frame because of the size. Can’t someone make a APSC hybrid camera with a fan.
Yeah a lot of the full frame lenses just add so much bulk and weight to the camera. I would say go with the A6700 or the FX30 depending on what you are shooting. The A6700 with a fan WOULD be nice.. but.. oh well.. 🤷🏾♂️
I think that's the best choice in this situation. In fact, I am going to upgrade my A6400 for the A6700 in the near future. So look out for reviews and content on that as well. Thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel!👍🏾
I'd rather pick up a used A6700 personally, it's a lovely camera with that new AI chip, which makes it perfect for the Sony 10-18mm f/4 OSS G lens (without the PZ) to center-crop that censor and ePZ out for that establishing shot.
I would have to agree with you! The A6700 is a GREAT camera with a lot of features that can benefit the novice or more advanced creator! Thanks for taking time to watch and comment! 👍🏾
Hahaha going to the washroom with camera in hand 🤣 Toooo relatable!! Great review, probably will pass on the Mark ii… No IBIS is the nail in the coffin for me… Unless it came with a lifetime subscription for Catalyst Prepare… Even then mehhh…
Yeah man.. that bathroom thing ALWAYS makes me rethink what camera I am going to bring with me! As far as stabilization, Gyroflow is another application that can stabilize footage from the ZV-E10 and it's free and open source. You should check it out! Thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel!👍🏾
For me, it's good for work 'cause now we can shoot video with SLOG 3 10bit. For the lens, I'm gonna choose the Sigma prime lens for better video/image quality or the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8
I am glad that the MKII works for you! I hope that you get as much use out of it that you can and I hope it works well for you! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
Nice vid. Thanks. I think the real big updates to the mark ii are the higher end video codecs. I would say this camera is for a vlogger who may want to start color grading and get more enhanced video quality kind of like a poor man’s fx30. But for most vloggers and content creators the original would be the way to go.
Here for the price of the ZVE10 II body I bought the ZV E10 body plus 3 lenses. Sony 50mm 1.8, Viltrox 20mm 2.8 and Sony 55mm -210mm enjoying a lot. Although the Mark II looks great, lenses are important too and my budget agrees with me 😂🤣
My budget cried after noticing the price of MK2. Thought of a6700 but it broke-up with me(lenses matters more than camera)😂 Probably, gonna stick around with ZV-E10 I and thinking of Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8!! What do you think of the setup?? Your feedback will be appreciated!!
I 100% agree! MOST people will be ok with the original ZV-E10 in my opinion. Even when you look at the MOST successful TH-camrs, they are using iPhones, Go Pros and smaller action cameras to create their content. Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
*The No IBIS killed it and the 10 Bit 4:2:2 isn't going to help unless you have a Computer with a Dedicated GPU otherwise all those specs don't mean a thing other then it cost more then it's predecessor but having just the lens having OSS. It's Cool that they have the better Processor but doesn't have that A1 Bionic for Auto Framing which I think is cool but I'd have to get the a6700 if I want that, but the touchscreen I'm kinda over it, being that I have the FX30, but I'm lookin forward too seeing what they do with the Second version*
I agree with all your points. A lot of the decisions that went into this camera seem to overlook NEW creators and vloggers. New creators don't care about 10 bit 4:2:2, LUTs or Slog3. What they DO care about it autofocus, stabilization and an easy interface (since most new comers and vloggers aren't SUPER technically inclined) Most people will pass up this camera for something like the DJI OSMO, iPhone or any other camera with decent stabilization. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment!👍🏾
The IBIS is totally insufficient for vloggers who film outside (not in a controlled studio environment), especially with low shutter speeds as it’s impossible to correct movement artefacts in post with low shutter speeds, therefore the only good solution would be an in-camera stabilization algorithm like the one in the insta360 Ace pro but with removable lenses, or a fictionnal Osmo pocket 4 with an exangeable gimbal-lens combination (you would not simply remove the lens but the whole gimbal-lens assembly). But this would require to have dedicated stabilization parameters for each lens and would blow the price up. Also, I believe Sony makes great sensors but when it comes to image processing, their microchips seem to be slow, one or two generations behind and prone to overheating. So they would need to have a 5 nm process for their chips, or better.
I feel like it's a trap Sony put in here. Like, if it has the mechanical shutter or the IBIS, people wouldn't buy A6700, like the way they didn't buy the A6400 🤣 Basically, they want u to buy their mid-range asp-c over their cheap one, for the 400 range difference. They increased it 300 bucks vs Mark I cuz of the same story above. If they only increase 100 or just keep the same price, then people will get mad cuz: Why paying for fx30 while can buy 3 of this?😅 Strategy wise.
I agree with you! It's definitely a way for Sony to make more money! Some statistician sat down with a team of other people with large heads shaped like walnuts and came to this conclusion and on paper it mad financial sense! Thanks for taking the time leave feedback and thanks for watching!👍🏾
Im comparison with zv-e10 and price of mk2. Isn't worth it for the upgrade in my opinion. Everything you can do with mk1 you can do just as good for mk2 for fraction of price. You also can invest in a decent lense. I have the Sony ZV-E10 with the tamron 17-70 e mount lense.
I 100% agree with you! PLUS you save more money and can invest that into other accessories. I would make the same choice you did! Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback! 👍🏾
Yeah - the ZVE10 Mark1 (original) feels like the better, more capable because it’s a better photo camera. For the price the A6700 is worth considering, and if you can’t afford it, it’s probably worth waiting and saving for - or better yet, get the Mark 1 and with the cash savings/difference, use it on great glass. Big pass on the Mark2. - Enjoyed the video…
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia i hate to say it though, but most people watch because they are going to buy, or bought, the product and they’re mostly looking to others to justify the purchase. For your channel, it makes sense to buy it and make more content about it because it very likely is going to get similar traction as the original. So, even if you don’t (or do) think it’s the best thing, it probably won’t hurt to make content showing people (who got it or getting it) what to do. BUT (or / and) also show people why the ZVE10 (and / or) A6700 are good options to the ZVE10 2, without hurting feelings 😐. Like many comparison videos? Anyhow. Keep going! I enjoy your videos.
@@arkphotogI 100% agree with you! It would be a great BUSINESS move however, personally it wouldn't be a good moral move. It's similar to channels that create videos like "5 reasons to buy the Sony Zv-E10 Mkii" then two weeks later "5 reasons NOT to buy the Sony ZV E-10 MK ii". Sure these videos COULD help someone however, the likelihood of it TRULY benefitting someone is pretty LOW! Video posts like that just keep people spinning in circles while the creator gets clicks, views and revenue. I am REALLY considering the A6700 personally and when I do acquire it, I will more than likely make more content on that and compare the OG ZV-E10 which I am going to keep! I hate the climate of TH-cam where I MUST talk solely about gear to be recognized but I do realize it's business. Thanks for the input.
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia I commend you for that…and although I sense your frustration with the channel growth (eg recent video), I trust your insight / thoughts when I watch your videos because of this precise stance (moral vs purely money / growth decisions). I truly hope you continue making/sharing content. There is an audience for it (example camera conspiracies. That person is not invited to early gear releases because he does not cave to company marketing, so his thoughts and reviews feel genuine - like yours). So, just continue to push forward and make adjustments (in a manner you enjoy) and we will be here. Thanks for making and sharing your content!
One thing that doesn’t make much sense is that you’re saying it has a bigger and better camera (which is good according to you) but at the same time complain that the body is bigger.
Quick question! What will you be using your camera for? The reason why I say this is because I am releasing a video tomorrow that you may want to check out before you pull the trigger on the ZV-E10! Thanks for taking the time to watch and thanks for supporting the channel! 👍🏾
14:53 to answer your question: Mk ii is at best an overpriced studio B or C-cam. ZV-1 and ZV-E10 OG are better than mk IIs imo. Sony dumbs down products for brainless gen Zs... with little price bump
I agree! I would do the same thing as you to be honest! I don't see a logical reason to go to the MKii! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
The vlogging camera needs to have two priorities: auto focus and image stabilisation. Sony has been excellent and getting auto focus right, but also over the last 5 years they've been chopping off the IBIS in their follow up models (ZV-1ii, 1F). Shows how removed the Sony suits are from the reality. Even in their promo vids - do they honestly think that vloggers camping in their hippy VWs are spending nights rendering videos on Catalyst software?? And the PRICE - ouch! Were I am it launches at equiv of 1600 USD body only - f**k that. I think the size and weight has been overplayed here. The bigger grip for bigger battery is just better, and 50 grams on a camera with a lens, a mic and a tripod stick is not going to break anyone's arm. The inconvenience of having the contraption in the toilet was a good point - but then again it is true for any camera other than the mobile phone or action cam.
I 100% agree with you. Sony dropped the ball on this camera for it being a vlogging camera. As far as the weight, I mentioned that because content creation (on the go) is a different beast than being in one’s home town vlogging. I was in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 with my camera and quickly realized how much of a burden it was due to its size specifically. I was in foreign places where I didn’t feel comfortable walking around with this huge camera pointed at my face. I also did SeaTrek in another place and had to leave my camera with some random guy and TRUST that he wasn’t going to run off with it. People that are constantly on the go NEED a lightweight, inconspicuous, portable setup like a GoPro, DJI Osmo or iPhone. Sony is making a “vlogging” camera LARGER.. which in my experience with vlogging is the wrong direction to take. 🤷🏾♂️ Lastly, 1600 is CRAZY 🤯 to pay for this camera! Thanks for making the time to watch and thanks for sharing your opinion and feedback! I love to hear what others think! 👍🏾
Not worth it. The price for the II is just ridiculous. Way overpriced for the upgrades they made. Good thing is this will make the ZV-E10 a bit cheaper which I’d recommend to anyone.
I don't have the ZVE10, but if at all someone deserves to be followed in favor of the camera... It has to be you.. Now let's see what you have to say about the Mark II
Better battery, better body, better display, better menu and the most important is new/better sensor (+ better rolling shutter AND electronic stabilisation). Body without battery is lighter than original zv e10. Some minor, some significant improvements. But the lack of mech. shutter and price makes upgrading worth thinking twice. Very shallow overview, NOT worth time spending on this video.
According to specs on the B&H website, the original ZV E-10 with battery and sd card weigh 12.1 oz while the MKii with battery and sd card weigh 13.3 oz. The new body alone MAY be lighter however, keep in mind that the overall size of the Mkii are larger as well. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel! 👍🏾
Sony is keep making these mistakes with their cameras when it comes to version I. and version II. Just like the ZV1 version I. and II., They made updated but actually made it not recommendable... 18-50mm lens compare to the original 24-70 was better for bloggers but then the lens became a 2.8-4 instead of the original 1.8-2.8... big mistake just like this camera... Sony should actually make their II. version cameras better not make it better but then degrade something else.
Exactly! Version 2 of anything should be improvements on things that were good and updates on things that had issues. I think Sony wants to avoid the costs of R&D so they use what’s already been developed. They also are trying to scoop up every type of consumer. They need to do more software development in their cameras like Apple and Samsung. If they don’t, they won’t be around selling consumer cameras in the future! 🤷🏾♂️
I already own the E10 m1, and the a6700. Really happy with those two, along with the numerous APS-C lenses I purchased. Great review and video, my mans. 🥃
@@forestassets4969~ If you’re talking about the E10 m2 paired with a quality prime or tele lens, then YES, the price will be close to if not damn near the same as the a6700. It’s a good thing my a6700 on sale. 🥃
I have to agree with you! I think the A6700 is a great camera! I am currently looking at getting the A6700 to be honest with you. I think I may replace my A6400 with it! 🤔 Thanks for the feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel! 👍🏾
It does! however, I look at is as an investment. I firmly believe that if a person is going to put out 1k and over, it needs to be something they can FULLY use. I can't see paying 1k for a camera I can use flash with and certain situations I can't take photos in. Not for 1k! I encourage people to either save just a bit more money or get the OG ZV-E10. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching. 👍🏾
Im waiting for sony zv e10 mark 2 release for six month. And when sony zv e10 mark 2 release, i buy mark 1 instead, because the price is too higher for me 😂
In so many words! To be honest with you, I think I am going to replace my A6400 with the A6700. It's a great hybrid camera with the updated sensor as well! Can't really go wrong with the A6700! Thanks for sharing your feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Look at your view count difference on this video compared to your recent non-gear ones! It's true, the algorithm really does see you as a gear channel and as such promotes your gear videos. That's interesting. Moreover, looking through your library, I think the algorithm must also respond in part to subject consistency - so for example, you broke up your gear vid releases with non gear vids, and then as a result your channel as a whole gets recommended less; compared to say if you had released like 15 gear vids in a row with proper gear "keywords" (maybe 🤷♂). You should absolutely leverage that, get your numbers up with gear vids and then when your high enough, you'll have freedom to deviate. I mean, you would know more then me, so this is probably not a new revelation or anything - but I see it now too, clear as day. Or start a new separate channel that just talks about filmmaking - cause this one seems obviously tagged in TH-cams eyes as a gear channel and I dunno if you can change that or not. Moreover, and not to imply that your channel is an experiment, but it would be interesting to see if your numbers actually did change from you making such, well such changes.
First of all, thanks for the feedback and the POV from your side of things. I am convinced that my issue is/was with the discovery and recommendation system within TH-cam. Once I released the "My TH-cam Channel Is Dying" video, I have seen a SIGNIFICANT increase in traffic across my entire channel! Videos that had a couple hundred views suddenly started to see an increase in traffic. Although MANY people say it doesn't exist, I am HIGHLY certain my channel was/is somehow hidden or shadow banned for some reason. If you get the time and are interested, scroll through some of the comments on the ,"My TH-cam Channel Is Dying" video and you will see a few people saying they just stopped seeing my content. It wasn't that they were not interested.. it literally just stopped showing up. I have also had issues as a viewer of other channels. There have been RANDOM sewing videos that I have never expressed interest in pop up as a suggestion. I don't click or watch however sometimes I KEEP getting the SAME videos suggested to me... Lately I have been getting a lot of videos about clothing... I NEVER watch anything related to that however, I get HEAVY suggestions for it.... I don't claim to have the answers and I am not saying I can't improve in certain areas however, I am CERTAIN there is another issue at hand here as well. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and thanks for watching and supporting the channel! 👍🏾
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia Hmm interesting, based on what you're saying, it's almost as if the algorithm makes assumptions based on key words (as far as promoting your channel) and/or similarities between likeminded viewers (for making video recommendations). For example - you say your channels dying and the algorithm responds by promoting you or you watch the same type of video as someone else, and the algorithm recommends other stuff that person has watched, even if you haven't yet shown interest in said stuff (like you getting sewing videos without you having shown any interest in sewing). I do get some odd suggestions as well, and sometimes stuff I'm interested in and subscribed too shows up way down, like scrolling for a minute down, on my home page. It's pretty annoying, I mean why the big secret, TH-cam should make the details of how the algorithm works freely available - though having said that, maybe they are available somewhere on like page 89 of some operating document. It's an interesting mystery; if I get some time I'll research it a bit more thoroughly. Though for now, one tactic could be to find patterns in ultra successful channels and try to emulate them 🤷♂. Though look at channels that are successful as of this year, 2024, as one thing seems clear, the algorithm has changed more recently it seems. At least for me, your stuff tends to show up, so there's that.
A completely negative review of a camera you haven’t even put hands on? And comments/opinions on features you haven’t even used? Unsure how you have a platform with reviews like this. Thumbs down.
First of all thanks for watching and taking the time to express your thoughts. I am not sure how your review/view of ME is any different than my review of this camera. I am also not sure how your POSITIVE outlook is somehow more CREDIBLE and you HAVEN'T put hands on it either... or maybe you have? You have never met me however, you are making an opinion based on this video. Honestly I am ok with that because you are FREE to think your own thoughts and have your opinions. I have a platform because I am good at what I do. I know my way around editing, shooting and conveying information for the purpose of benefitting others. It's ok if you don't like me or my channel. There are PLENTY of channels that will tell you what you like/want to hear. I will leave you with this piece of unsolicited advice. These are JUST cameras, they don't DEFINE who we are or give us our identity. They are SIMPLY tools that we use to convey thoughts, tell stories and positively impact other people's lives. If you choose to get the MKii I am happy for you! Feel free to come back if you have any questions regarding it's use. I wish you the best! Thanks for stopping by! 👍🏾
The ZV-E10 II is a good b-cam or overhead cam for an A6700 or FX30. For studio, you won't even notice the 10-bit because there are no real 4K HDR10 capture cards for under $300 and for live streaming and TH-cam you are going to output to 8-bit 420 NV12 anyways.
old japanes tech, amazing what this company is doing. it is a shame Samsung pull of from the camara bussnines. they are realising the same shit over and over again, nothing new just same old garbage old screen, sensors, nothing new.
It will catch up with them if they aren't careful. People aren't asking for them to create something that isn't possible, they are just asking for something that fits their needs a bit better and most cost effective. We will see what happens though! Thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel!👍🏾
Worse than the average flagship phone from the last 4 years. Useless product. Image stabilization is absolute dogshit on both of these. Sony has no clue about how these devices get used and they sell purely on specs instead of providing a solution to a use case. These cameras overheating on their specific task is a fucking joke and I believe that these limitations are intentional to keep the buyers in a funnel cycle of buying the next upgrade. I have the ZV-1 II and the best use case it gets is as my webcam for my desktop computer, an incidental use instead of what I bought it for. Save your money and get a second hand phone with a gimbal and a clip on mic.
Especially in that price range! I just can’t see a logical reason to purchase this camera. I would encourage people to save up just a bit more and get much more! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 👍🏾
@PurposedLensPhotoMedia well for me i need something that shoots in 0fps at 4k as i do Unboxing and love shooting in 4k60 the only time i shoot in 24fps is when im doing a product review headshot. but when im streaming i want 4k60 which i dont need that. its a want not a need. i just wanna future proof myself without having to buy another camera for years right about now i just dont know which to buy. the Sony ZVE10 or ZVE10MKii or the Iphone 16 pro which I already have a 15 Pro. but the only problem using a phone is this is my daily device. and the other problem is cant use a monitor with a wireless mic
If it was priced at $800 dollars I could consider it but at $1000 the canon r10 just smacks it around
I bought my ZVE 10 on sale for 700 dollars with the kit lens. So if I just got the body it would of been only 600. 600 to 1000 for a entry level camera for vloging is kinda crazy lol
@@phiromthach550exactly. With that money you can invest in lenses. Your camera is only as good as the glass behind it.
@@RunicksYGO 100 percent agree. The lenses have so much more of an impact on the quality of photos than the body. All the Sony ASPC cameras all have the same sensor lol
Yes! I've been waiting for YOUR review specifically! *grabs popcorn*
😁 What are your thoughts on the camera?
Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
Here are the reasons I’m personally looking into the MKii myself over the A6700:
Other videos have shown the stabilization (especially using catalyst) do a great job for what I need it for and not worth the extra cost to get IBIS.
You're awesome - thanks again!
I'm glad the review was beneficial to you!
I think I would do the same honestly if I were you! I just can't see the value in this camera given the other options that are out there.
I wish you NOTHING but the best in all you do! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!👍🏾
Yep, and it’s no slouch when
With mechanical shutter that was left out of the Mk2.
You may need to clear your mind!
100% agree.
Wow you just save me some money, I currently have the Sony ZV-1fF. I will upgrade to the E10 and get a good lens. Thanks 😊

There are some who have found uses for this camera and for those people I am very happy! MOST people will be 100% fine with the MKi ZV-E10!
Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your feedback! 👍🏾

Hi! Thank You for this review! Honest opinion thats what I need :)
Do You think is it worth to buy FX30 or wait for FX30 mark II?

Thanks for explaining LUT to me! Geesh, that was hard to understand until your vid. Thank you sir!
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia I thought I would get away cheap here for a while, and now I'm looking at the A6700 instead 😅
Am trying to start podcast for 3person / should I buy Sony zv 10II. Or buy 2 of Zv10?
It really depends on a few things.
What’s your budget?
Do you already have other equipment?
Have you tried to shoot anything on your iPhone or another device?
The reason I ask the last question is because it’s really difficult to KNOW what you need until you attempt to shoot first.
Once you shoot, you will have a better sense of what you need to get the results you are after!
I will say that lighting and audio are going to be the PRIMARY parts of your podcast. If you don’t have those two things in order, you will face issues.
I hope this helps!
Thanks for taking the time to watch! 👍🏾
Would you recommend the Sony zv-e 10 ii for recording music videos?
I can't HONESTLY, personally recommend the ZV E10II for anyone to be honest. (Maybe a drone operator). This is due to the price/what you get for that price ratio.
If you are looking into doing mostly videos with the features that the ZV E10II has, I would go with the Sony FX30. I hope this helps!
Thanks for watching!👍🏾
Thnx! What you said makes total sense. Finally an honest logical review.
There’s a lot of hype around this camera and I’m not sure why?
It has a beautiful image however, the specs don’t match the price in my opinion.. 🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
totally agreed, if you don't need 4k60p ,not worth to upgrade and removed mechanical shutter
100% agree!
This isn't an "upgrade" for most people. This is a slightly newer/worse camera than the OG ZV-E10.
Thanks for leaving feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
-"Hey Dave are you there?"
-"Okay shut up!"
Thanks for reassuring me that I don't need to rush out and buy a bigger camera with some new features I won't use.
The skit was funny 😆 ! But kinda sounds like a conversation between me and my boss!😮
As always, very good and objective content from you. Thanks for that.👍🏼
I thought pretty much the same thing when I saw the specs of the Mark ii.

Using gimbal for blogging will help from getting blurry
Really enjoyed the info, energy and total review! I learned a lot!❤ thank you!

Maybe get an FX30 or keep using my current ZV E10 until my photography business gets up
and running.
Yes it's true. They removed the mechanical shutter from the camera. 😕
If you already have lenses for the ZV-E10 I think it's a good idea to go for the A6700 if you want hybrid or the FX30 if you are strictly video.
I wish the best for you!
Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching. 👍🏾
No mechanical shutter and price killed my upgrade plan
Yes! To me that was a move in the wrong direction.
You may want to look in into the A6700! I think it's a great camera that fills in between the newer cameras. It's got mechanical shutter, viewfinder, the new sensor, new battery and it's not much more than the ZV E-10 ii.

In order to remove the distorsion, you would need to submit the image to A.I. and hope it‘s able to remove the distorsion and add-in a propeller disc.

does zve10ii(mark2) 4k 60fps records gyro meta data?
and does zve10ii(mark2) have 1920x1080 100/120fps?
these are the prices as of 12/11/24
zve10 $598
zve10 ii $999
a6700 $1399
fx30 $1999
is the zve10 ii worth 2x more then the zve10
Thanks for watching.
Solid review this one :)
But, being in the market for my first camera, to me this feels like it’s geared towards content creators in general than vloggers, and not necessarily the «run around I need ibis» vloggers.
So the pricing for cams with this sensor is:
- 999 usd for the zve-10 ll (body)
- 1398 usd for a6700 (body)
- 1798 usd for fx-30 (body)
For my use case I need a camera that will primarily be on a tripod in my workshop/studio to do talking heads, be used as an overhead camera for filming tutorials and how to’s, on a tripod or wallmount to film stuff around my shop, handheld or on a tripod to film small product videos/b-roll type product presentations etc etc. so mostly locked off on a tripod or a wallmount or overhead, or handheld with very little fast motion.
So I feel this camera might be less geared towards «vloggers» and more towards creators starting out, creators doing more static type shots and on a tight budget looking for a first camera that delivers decent quality, at the same level as a camera that is almost twice as expensive (fx30), and slightly more versatile and flexible in terms of grading than the previous version :)
I had my mind set on the a6700 and saving up for it, but this might be a new contender for the type of content I make :)
I understand.
If it works for you then that's a great thing. I wish you nothing but the best!

@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia It would be interesting to know, if you where to look at the camera from more of a «content creation»-setting, rather than a vlogger setting (using your own videos as an example: a lot of your videos are made with the camera stationary set on a tripod, filming yourself in the car, on the bed, in your studio, from a distance outdoors, etc)
- for that type of production: would it be worth spending *more* money on a a6700 or a fx30, if one doesn’t *really* need the ibis, and added weight is less of an issue (but longer battery life could be a plus) and a viewfinder might be less important since the cam can be monitored via app etc? Is there 400 usd worth of added features with the a6700 in terms of doing more «static» style filmmaking? And are there features missing from the mark 2 that would make the more cinematic type shots and stuff you often do more difficult in terms of practical production? could the lack of features on the mark 2 be «emulated» with an a6700 with ibis turned off to show what to expect from the mark 2 (that would be a great followup-video :D)
@AndreSjoberg the problem is not just ibis people use flash in product photography the fact that they removed mechanical shatter for a 1000$ camera mean no flash. even with ambient light you get banding and artifacts for fast motion or some led lights wildlife sports or product photography it's not worth it mach better off to save the money get the zve10 or a6700 or fuji xs20.
the menu is the only real upgrade for the zve10 mark2. they could just do a software update for the zve10 i they trying to justify 300$ more for better battery and better rolling shatter and then they removed the mechanical shatter 😂 it doesn't make sense some could say this is a video centered camra not really for photography but then it doesn't have a ibis so it doesn't really excels at anything then with price of 1000$
@@78amir.j not everyone uses flash for product photography, especially in the segment / target group of a sub 1000 dollar camera more and more use cheap video lights for especially product photography -
but: I’m seeing this camera more as a video camera that can take photos in a pinch, and from that perspective you get a bigger battery and better sensor than the original, better operating system/menu, 10-bit video which is better for grading video and some other smaller improvements like the switch for mode instead of button - probably not enough for somebody to upgrade from the original, but more than enough to offer a valid, cheaper alternative to the a6700. it should be capable of delivering as good video quality as the a6700 for 400 less if filming in a controlled «studio setting» is the main usage, and should be good enough to deliver decent product photographs for a small business needing stuff for a website and social media.
The only thing I can't understand is why you want to stop vlogging in the bathroom? 😅 Super video!

That’s great! I wish you the best! 👍🏾

I 100% agree.
You do get MUCH more for a bit more $$ It's really an easy decision I believe.
Thanks for watching and thanks for leaving feedback!👍🏾
Coincido.

If you don't own the first gen how can you say it's worth upgrading?
I would have to strongly disagree with this statement.
You are getting LESS camera in many ways for MORE money when you compare it to the Original ZV-E10 when it was launched.
This is a video I recently did explaining my opinion on why the Original ZV-E10 is still worth it.

In Australia it's almost twice the price of the original, putting it in a similar price bracket to cameras like the Fuji Xs-20.
Ouch!
That's insane! Do you have any idea what it's so much more there in Australia?

Keeping my Sony FX30 for video and ZVE10 with mechanical shutter for photos with my many Sony APSC f1.8 lenses. Still hoping for an APSC FX50? for better low light video, but that may still be a year away.
I think I would make the same move that you are making. This way you get the best of both worlds. A lightweight camera with mechanical shutter and a mini cine camera for when you want to go big with production!

I was waiting for so long for this camera. I’m so bummed. It’s either a A6700 or an S5ii now. I’d be done with an S5ii, I just really don’t want a full frame because of the size. Can’t someone make a APSC hybrid camera with a fan.
Well buy a6700 + the ulanzi fan then
Yeah a lot of the full frame lenses just add so much bulk and weight to the camera. I would say go with the A6700 or the FX30 depending on what you are shooting.
The A6700 with a fan WOULD be nice.. but.. oh well.. 🤷🏾♂️
I feel like I would get the a6700 for the IBIS.
Me too
I think that's the best choice in this situation.
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia Can you batch export/stabilize with gyroflow?
@@EvanLindy Yes you can... it's called "Render Queue". Provided your computer is able to handle it!

Nice vid.
What they DO care about it autofocus, stabilization and an easy interface (since most new comers and vloggers aren't SUPER technically inclined)
Most people will pass up this camera for something like the DJI OSMO, iPhone or any other camera with decent stabilization.
Like, if it has the mechanical shutter or the IBIS, people wouldn't buy A6700, like the way they didn't buy the A6400 🤣
Basically, they want u to buy their mid-range asp-c over their cheap one, for the 400 range difference.
They increased it 300 bucks vs Mark I cuz of the same story above. If they only increase 100 or just keep the same price, then people will get mad cuz: Why paying for fx30 while can buy 3 of this?😅
Strategy wise.
I agree with you! It's definitely a way for Sony to make more money!
Some statistician sat down with a team of other people with large heads shaped like walnuts and came to this conclusion and on paper it mad financial sense!
Thanks for taking the time leave feedback and thanks for watching!👍🏾
Rather stick with zv1f or zv 1 mostly Dji poket 3
I 100% agree!
I plan on trying out the DJI Pocket 3 in the near future!
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
The price increase outweighs the nominal upgrade imho just get a Canon R8 or Sony A7C.

Enjoyed the video…
I 100% agree with you!
If the MK ii appeals to you, go for the A6700! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for watching! 👍🏾
What part of the video did I say that?
@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia I meant battery not camera
i am buying sony zv e10 as my first camera :) but sooner i might buy a better sony cameras
Quick question!
What will you be using your camera for? The reason why I say this is because I am releasing a video tomorrow that you may want to check out before you pull the trigger on the ZV-E10!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and thanks for supporting the channel! 👍🏾
@PurposedLensPhotoMedia you know getting to know the system and also for fun and school purposes 👍👍
14:53 to answer your question: Mk ii is at best an overpriced studio B or C-cam. ZV-1 and ZV-E10 OG are better than mk IIs imo. Sony dumbs down products for brainless gen Zs... with little price bump
I think I would have to agree with you!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel! 👍🏾
yeah the jello effect seems to be gone
Yes it is gone on the updated sensor. This is why I think the A6700 would be worth moving up from the OG ZV-E10.
Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
I shoot with flaah alot with my zve10.
I dont intend to stop, so the mkii is worthless to me
Lastly, 1600 is CRAZY 🤯 to pay for this camera!
I agree with you!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! 👍🏾
I don't have the ZVE10, but if at all someone deserves to be followed in favor of the camera... It has to be you..
Now let's see what you have to say about the Mark II
Thanks for the support!
What are your thoughts on the MKii?
Thanks for watching and leaving positive feedback! 👍🏾
The zve10 og rolling shutter is so bad that even talking head shots are effected.
Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
I heard it lighter than the first one
Bro...a 6700 cost
@@forestassets4969~ If you’re talking about the E10 m2 paired with a quality prime or tele lens, then YES, the price will be close to if not damn near the same as the a6700.
It’s a good thing my a6700 on sale. 🥃
I have to agree with you! I think the A6700 is a great camera! I am currently looking at getting the A6700 to be honest with you. I think I may replace my A6400 with it! 🤔
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel! 👍🏾
It does!
however, I look at is as an investment.
And when sony zv e10 mark 2 release, i buy mark 1 instead, because the price is too higher for me 😂
Basically sony is shoving it in our faces - get the a6700
In so many words!
I'm buying 2, 10 bit at a discount
Sounds good! 👍🏾

TH-cam now supports HDR streams however not many creators tested this feature
old japanes tech, amazing what this company is doing. it is a shame Samsung pull of from the camara bussnines. they are realising the same shit over and over again, nothing new just same old garbage old screen, sensors, nothing new.
Ouch! Don't let Sony hear you!😁
