This has been by far the best comparison video I've seen. I've spent the last 3 days researching these cameras, and you absolutely nail the points needed. In particular by pointing out the new features and who they actually might apply to. Thank you so much!
my wife had to save a lot of her monthly salary to buy me my sony zv e10 m1. we don't have the capacity to buy new expensive stuff. i appreciate your video because you gave value to the original zv e10. with all the hype over the mark 2, i'm starting to feel sorry for my self that i can't buy any new camera. i will stick to my zv e10 m1, since it is still a great camera for content creations and all around use.
The Mk.I is still great. 8-bit video still looks great and has smaller file sizes. I'm already having a storage issue with 8-bit 4.2.0 videos so I'm sticking with the Mk.I as well. 🙂
Yeah, the Mark I is so good that they don't substitute it with the Mark II. They consider the II as an upgrade, not an update, but realistically that is the opposite of what it actually is. A lot of the 'upgrades' are software updates, UI, in-camera cinematic looks etc. Add to that updated hardware for 10-bit video and 4k60 after 6 years (!) and realistically it should be the update to Mark I, not at 300+ extra bucks. I'd say Mark I continues to be the gold choice, with the a6700 being the upgrade. In some countries the Mark II is the same price as the a6700 which is absolutely insane. The main downside being that the a6700 can overheat faster, though the Mark II has been allegedly overheating at max video settings in less than 30 minutes anyway.
The ZV-E10ii has one dealbreaker for me if you do photography and that is that it has no mechanical shutter and gives you in LED lights really bad banding. Still big crop in active stabilization. Still no ibis... I would stick with the ZV-E10 1 because it has mechanical shutter.
im considering getting the Mark II bcos its btr for compared to the Mark I (ill use it for photography) but im worried abt the electronic shutter, im thinking of mainly shooting scenery and planes, which one shld i get 😭
Mk1 was a general camera that was used by streamers and vloggers. Mk2 is a more vlogger/streamer oriented solution with good photo capabilities. Whats the difference? Lots of quality of life changes towards streamers: HDMI connector on Mk1 is notoriously fragile. Also prone to overheating like crazy. Upgraded battery and wider vlog recording settings. Plus... as a back up, a super solid USB-C connector if the HDMI still decides to poof. Wont be as powerful, but will give longevity where Mk1 was often tossed...
I love your YT videos. Thanks for such a clear narrative on the Sony ZV-E10-II. We will appreciate if you could produce a video comparing the A6700 with the ZV-E10-II. Thanks in advance.
nothing wrong with the makr ii you see the elecotrnic shutter has a FASTER readout and since its the same sensor as the FX30 there is little to no rolling shutter. In video on the mark 1 it had HORRIBLE rolling shutter issues. The only thing you might get with no mechanical shutter is banding on photos.

Hi! I have an A7iii with many lenses, etc.. for semipro use. I need a very good travel cam for photo and video as cinematic as possible but not necessarily commercial level. Do you think original zve10 is good enough?
Thank you for this incredibly detailed and concise video! I've been searching for vlogging cameras for a while as a micro-influencer looking to start a TH-cam channel and have been overwhelmed with the technical terms that come with buying a camera. Just pre-ordered the Sony ZV-E10 Mark II because of the clearer camera quality, color grading options, and motion stabilization. Best of luck to everyone else buying a camera!
I would say the 6400 for sure just for the design and the built in flash. realistically the difference will be so small. but i think you could get a used a6400 for cheap and you will prefer the design of the a6400.
@@TechThroughTheLens The lack of EVF and flash in ZV-E10 M2 is no biggie for me. What I'm actually worried about is the absence of the mechanical shutter. How big of a deal is that? Is it that bad?
