Thank you BC. it's late evening in Brisbane and with thunder, lightning, and a tropical rain storm moving over us it makes the perfect background for your case.
I woke up very early this morning and watched another historical crime podcast. But then this TH-cam notification popped up and I was gripped by watching this episode. All I can say is .... the poor horses, being used in these crimes. But I always come back to Brief Case!
The best part of working a double shift on a Monday is listening to BC on my lunch break. I became so absorbed in the story, I didn’t notice the other nurses listening on benches around me. Thank you, from all of us. ❤😊
The only thing sad about this case was that two innocent lawmen were shot and their bones and body parts were toted around in a horse napsack. I shudder to think what the Keniff boys were doing with them. Being survivalists, one may wonder if they weren't used for food. The Kenniffs sounded like a very wild family, with no upbringing by their mother and father. I usually give the defendant's benefits of the doubt if there's evidence that shows that they weren't at the crime scene, but based on their upbringing and shady ways, I could tell they fabricated witnesses saying they were miles away on "horse betting business". Thank you BC for another very interesting case! 💼 💀
Hope not! But they definitely had experience trying to "get off" charges before and maybe they thought if no body was found, they couldn't be found guilty of anything.
What a good story of life and mischief in older, rugged times!! I don't know what to think of the Kenniff brothers. Did they or didn't they? The outcome of the case fit my indecision too. Thank you Brief Case for this riveting, vividly told tale.
Morning all! Coffee and BC to start the week. This case is intriguing, as there seem to be valid arguments for them being not guilty of this particular crime. But if they were innocent, whose bones were found? I will puzzle on this one a while. Well told as usual! Thanks for all the work you do!
Though a definitive answer may never be reached, I think a case like this shows the importance of Ockham's Razor. Who else would have killed this victim in this remote area? Remember some of the most convincing liars are murderers.
This episode sounds like this would make an incredible movie!!! Because of the life these men led and this being a true story, and full of intense accounts, I would love for their life story come to life! You need to narrate the entire thing!! I loved listening to this episode!! Thank you, Brief Case, for keeping me on the edge of my seat!!❤
Hi Kerry, Yes it would make a great movie, there may be one but I did not come across it in my research, but I was mainly only reading Newspapers from the time
Great Job Brief Case!! I so look forward to you videos, and I hit the Like button before I have even watched it knowing I’m going to love it!! Well done!!
Staggering that these two were accused of murder, one is hanged and the other released from a "life sentence" after just twelve years! RIP to the two police help victims, but sadly Australian justice has not much improved since then.
If these two had been put away for horse stealing and cattle rustling as they should have been years before, perhaps two lawmen wouldn't have been murdered. They were right in that they would not have been adequately punished. So they continued their crime wave. JMO.
Thank you for sharing this story with us x mondays wouldn't be the same without you Brief Case x your so good at telling the stories they are really interesting and keep us captivated x
This trial was a sham. The fact is, those lawmen vanished while out on assignment to arrest the Kenniff brothers. If they hadn't spent over 100 days very clearly evading the law in the wilderness, those might have had more of a case. Not sure why only one of them was made to swing.
Exactly...I mean dude...I listen to the entire story and the narrator can't even make a statement (include) a statement of how he doesn't know why one brother was hanged and the other let to breathe out....agrevating 😮
@@bonzo6826 Why should he? He relayed the facts, that one got his sentence commuted. No need to be aggravated that BC doesn't waste time making guesses as to why that happened.
Another fantastic job you've done. I find these cases fascinating. Was he in fact, innocent, and how many innocent people were hanged? Or were law enforcement that good?
Another truly fascinating intriguing Brief Case. Your content is always amazing to watch/listen to. U always talk about cases from so many years ago that not many have heard before & that's a testimote to all your hard work & dedication u put into each video. Keep on keeping on man
G'day from Australia. Dungog used to be on a $5.00 note. I am familiar with bushrangers & these criminals from the past. Great how diverse your research delves into the past from all over the world. Thank you for another Brief Case so well told.👍
Poor horses. Imagine being a prey animal walking around smelling like burnt meat and bones in the outback? 😢 These 2 brothers were so bad that it boggles the mind, and they had such good luck. They got away with so much crime.
@BriefCaseOfficial I never miss one!!! Sometimes I even go back to the beginning and watch them all over again! You've got a Brief Case addict here! 😉 Thanks for being my supplier! 😅
Hi guys. I don't think I had heard of this case before. When the evidence is so circumstantial, it's hard to see how anyone could argue that the verdict is safe. Emotions run high when police are killed in the line of duty, and miscarriages of justice more likely. Thanks for more good thought-provoking content. Have a great week. 🕵😻
Once again a mind blowing siege that befell those being singled out. Or, that old saying, " Crazy not stupid?" Also, why carry the bones of charred remains? Did not cannibalism occur to anyone? This is all speculation from a 19th century perspective though too. Excellent research! Aussies carry the same as our wild frontiersman here!❤❤
Denial is a strong possibility too Neither acceptance nor celebration. Just desperately pretending that her sons aren't really criminals The stories are exaggerated. The police are out to get them. Maybe they stole but they never really hurt anyone, that part can't be true ...
@@AuDHDarling Oh, I've seen mothers who defend their poor innocent boys time after time and some who think it's so clever of them how they wormed their way out of trouble. I know, it the American thing. Poor horses.
Cruelty to animals is kind of an international “thing.”
I’m sickened by the fact that these innocent horses were killed because of these two maggots, plus the two men that lost their lives.
I always love to hear these older crime stories! You have the best narration and your stories are so so intriguing, as well as, interesting.

Just as in America's Wild West, Australia also had their cattle & horse rustling era. Stealing is one thing, but do not murder ! Justice was served !!
