  • "Days of my life",the last single record they made as a group in 1968.Tony Romeo(1939-1995) composed this song and Mickie Most (1938-2003) produced the recording.
A lovely little song from times long gone that stirs
    ones emotions.
Opening images are filmed at the Cabot tower in Bristol.
    Days of My Life
I'm never goin' home when the summer is a-come,
And it's morning again at my window.
I look back in my life through the pages of time,
And the days of my life with you.
When we ran in the sunlight with love on our faces
And laughed at the world through the rain.
There were days of my life filled with people and places,
And I wish I could live them again.
So I'm never goin' home when the summer is a-come,
And I think of the good life we knew.
And it's sad to see it end and to know I will spend
All the days of my life without you.
Once a young sailor I met by the sea
Said he wished I was eleven years older.
Maybe some summer he'll come back to me,
And he'll carry me off on his shoulder.
So I'm never goin' home when the summer is a-come,
And I think of the good life we knew.
And it's sad to see it end and to know I will spend
All the days of my life without you.
So I'm never goin' home when the summer is a-come,
And I think of the good life we knew.
And it's sad to see it end and to know I will spend
All the days of my life without you.
All the days of my life without you.

Each and every song by the seekers is special in its own right. What they touch turns into musical gold.

Love this song. Speaking of throwing things over shoulders. The smiles that Judith is casting over hers to the boys following behind are about as sweet as it gets. Such a lovely girl. Listening to the Seekers and seeing Judith always leaves me in a state of serenity!

One of my very favorite songs from the group. Absolutely love the video clip with the song. The lyrics to this song really speak to me. We all wish we could re-live all the "good days of our lives" Thank you Seekers for all the great music over the years. Been a big fan since 1965. Tim in Texas.

This is a wonderful, poignant little song that penetrates deeply with its lilting beauty. I'll never understand why this wasn't resurrected when the group reassembled in the 90s. It is a little painful to think what might have been and how this hidden little gem could have very easily become another great tune instantly associated with The Seekers. jtk

this is beautiful. This is MONO, the way Mickie Most recorded it. Someone has a "digital stereo version on here...forget, stick with this... brilliant!

This is a classic! From what I know, this is the last single they recorded before Judith left in 1968. I don't think they ever performed this song again. This being their last recorded song along with the lyrics make this profoundly poignant.

I wasn't even born yet when this song and these images were recorded, but this is a truly touching production. Thank you for sharing this hauntingly beautiful piece of history.

It's a fantastic song, and Judith's voice was beyond belief, IMO. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad the owner of this account has all these videos up.

I once referred to The Seekers as a folk group. I now realize that was like saying a Lexus is an automobile.

@capratube It's been so long since I wrote that, it no longer makes me cry. But I still feel the same way about it. It might have to do with me getting older, and then seeing this stuff. I don't know. But these videos are fantastic. Of course I think their farewell concert was when I was a little kid.

And just to think that the reason for their break up was because Judith was so lonely, homesick etc. The boys had each other and off they went and didnt consider to take her with them. So she said.

+MrsGranpaws She was a young woman of 24 years of age and she didn't see how she would meet Mr Right, and she wasn't artistically satisfied. Can you remember the ups and downs of your life at that age. let alone the pressures that the public put on the group? They would have been performing incessantly. At what stage do you stop being hostage to your fame , and as they say in the classics, "get a life". The 25 year break may have been one of their biggest breaks in many ways!

I agree with you. Listeners may have become complacent during that time. It gave fans time to appreciate them. I only discovered The Seekers In April of 2021 so all their music - except for Georgy Girl - is new to me. BTW, love this song!

That is at odds with what is normally accepted. It was her who left them. Bruce Woodley was very upset that she left them, and felt that she had deserted them. It took a long time for them to be reconciled.

    • @MrsGranpaws
      @MrsGranpaws 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@marywhite4857 the boys did not understand how lonely she was. N this is the reason she gave.
Just like a marriage sometimes. The male doesn't realise what the wife has been saying. N they up n leave n have no idea, they say! Had a friend did it. I heard her say what she felt. V bright n not listened to n controlled. Didn't think she wld do it. But chose during the time of an unplanned 2nd baby. When u least expect it.
So Judith up n left. She was independent n didn't need to b unhappy. They hadn't realised, they needed her more than vice versa. It was very sad for her. She struggled being part of the group on a personal level.

@vohor1 I like to listen to it on vinyl. As far as I know they never performed it again after recording it in the studio in 1968.Listen to how Judith sings "the rain".No one can sing it more beautiful.
