We got married in 1969,I was19 and she was 18.I wasn’t considered an adult so I needed my mothers permission to marry! I got drafted the same week of the wedding! It's helpful to remember that Judith was an established trad jazz singer before joining up with The Seekers. Working with skilled jazz musicians she would have picked up tips on phrazing and projection that would help give her vocals that unique flavour that catches the ear in her work with The Seekers. The blending of a jazz singer into a folk group almost seems counterintuitive, but it certainly worked some big magic here. jtk

But i tend to fall in Love with her anyway... i mean, i don't right now, but with the early Judith as ive seen her i would relate to a song by a certain sir Cliff RIchard called... We always think that great performance is a new fresh one, but singing or acting, it mostly is from someone whom did work long and hard...except Judith probably sang daily while walking home from school, and it still came naturally...heh heh!
I was a little kid when the Seekers were at their peak, wow do they bring back great memories of childhood and the times we were in, each generation has some progression in music, the 60’s probably had the most, and the best. RIP Judith, you were a powerhouse!
I just read Daniel's comment of 4 years ago about Judith being more beautiful than all 3 of the Kardashians put together, even without makeup! I just have to say Ditto! I remember Judith mentioning in an interview that she had insecurities about her physical appearance during those early years. To me, Judith looked like "the girl next door" - she being real, special, lovely, & even talented, a regular girl I'd like to go have a burger and pop drink with. - not one of those emaciated, too tall & skinny, airbrushed super models living in the clouds, but a normal girl who lives on the same planet as the rest of us. My male friends told me that her special beauty, smile & physical appearance was the epitome of the type of girl they were most interested in, especially when they finally became serious, and looking for that special one that they'd want to keep forever. The 3 guys I'm thinking of, to their credit, did just that. They're joyfully married to 3 of the most beautiful, in their husband's eyes (which is all that counts) young women, all from places next door, who just light up my friend's lives.
I was 14 years old when I first heard Judith's promise that "I'll Never Find Another You." I fell in love immediately. The following year - but just a few months later - I got to love her some more with "A World of Our Own." Those two will always be my favorites. There followed a succession of hits, including that massive smash "Georgy Girl." And I thought I'd never recover when they announced they were breaking up. But to all of the Seekers - thank you for 51 years of lovely listening.
i was 16 when this was on WLS in Chicago in 1965. We baby boomers are inexorably aging, but this tune, and for that matter The Seekers, remain timeless.
When Judith starts singing , even the angels stop and listen . Judith is even more beautiful to me now , after knowing her personal trials she experienced in her youth . Judith , how could you not have known you were beautiful and loved by everyone ? So glad that you and The Seekers were , still are , and will always be a part of my life . Best singer ever !
Yes! And to think she thought of herself as not being attractive! Listen to her interviews and you will be astounded by the self doubt she was going through at the time. For some reason, they turned down the opportunity to perform Georgie Girl at the 39th Annual Academy Awards on April 10, 1967 when all of Hollywood and over 22 million television viewers would have seen Judith Durham for the first time and literally fallen in love with her. This was a missed opportunity of the highest magnitude and could have launched their stalling career into a much higher orbit of activity with performance offers and songwriters composing songs expressly for them to sing like Paul Simon already had done the year before with his classic tune "Someday One Day" they successfully recorded. The Bee Gees had just come to the U.S. and upon arrival wrote the song Massachusetts expressly for The Seekers, but somehow couldn't get in touch with them to submit it for their evaluation. The Bee Gees decided to record the song themselves in 1967 and it was a huge hit. Had The Seekers recorded Massachusetts in 1967, they would have made a profound and permanent connection with the U.S. audience and market. As it stands now, Americans remember the song Georgie Girl resoundingly, but they never had the chance to become enamored with or familiar with the members of the goup themselves.
This song reached the top of the charts in England, the U.S., and Australia well before 67. This is a documentary reenactment of that time. The Seekers' manager Eddie Jarrett "...was very UK-centric..." according to Keith Potger and in retrospect, The Seekers should have been touring the U.S. much earlier than they ended up doing in 1967.
When I first watched this on TH-cam in 2010, I was so taken by the beauty of the song and the closeup of Judith that I was beside myself with questions of why I hadn't known that much about this wonderful group above and beyond Georgy Girl. No other voice like hers!!! This song was done to perfection by The Seekers and no other group has dared to attempt doing a version of it. Judith had to wait until November of 1969 to experience the joy of a relationship she had only been singing about since childhood. This song was first released in December 1964 and I remember hearing it on my parents' car radio back then when I was barely 11. But I didn't know for all these years it was the same voice of the girl who sang Georgy Girl who also sang this song. The same thing holds true for A World Of Our Own. I have no memory of ever hearing Someday One Day back in the 60's, but now I listen to it all the time. I love all kinds of QUALITY music and pride myself in the variety of artists I like, but I have scolded myself a number of times for not having found out more of this fine group sooner. I encourage eveyone to explore the music and music videos available on TH-cam involving The Seekers. Definitely a rewarding process!
softclay4thought I am only two years older than you and I have the memory of visiting my Aunties sheep station and listening to this on my new transistor radio. It's a pity you missed so much of the rest of their music back then as it seems to have a greater effect on me as a memory of that period in my life. Their music has that effect, it is odd though that you didn't connect the other song's with this as the sound of them is so unique.
Judith's voice can transport me back to the 60s like no other, It's like going back to childhood in a time machine. Beautiful song and wonderful group.
What a wonderful song. I fist heard it on WABC New York. Those were the days, regardless of the pressures of the times. I'd give anything for just one of those day again.
I had always loved this song, as far back as I could remember. I hadn't heard it in a long time and then ran across this video while playing favorite oldies. The next day, Judith passed away. Since then, I play it almost daily. Awesome vocals and harmony. They just don't make them like this anymore.
Beautiful song with awesome lyrics. Judith sings exceedingly great. I can never get fed up listening to this song over and over again. The seekers were my all time favorite from my childhood days and I still listen to them time and again.
I remember as a small boy, sitting on the front porch of our house and listening to this and similar songs echo through my home from the record player. A time when many had little, and a little went a long way. When friends were people you visited without an appointment and not txt'd from day to day. Listening to the melodic tones of the seekers and many other similar groups I thank my departed mum everyday for the best childhood any kid could have had. For many, these songs are not just about the music anymore, but also memories of friends and family. I live in the now but I will never forget the "then". If anything good has ever come of this "now", it's youtube and it's subscribers who enable these historic pictorials of music history to endure. It's ok to reminise.
Allan Atkinson Spot on Allan, we may have had less but in many ways we had more. More than todays generation will ever know perhaps since many women, particularly "celebrities" and "stars" have turned themselves into slags and many men have lost their sense of manhood. Judith, an all time great and a real woman to be proud of, I'm glad I lived through her era. I'm ten years older than her.
A very sensitive and moving comment, you're great. I was 17 and madly in love and that song made love grow stronger and unattainable. In those days artists were able to compose good music and so were the lyrics.
Pete the brit . Only just found The Seekers. Cannot stop playing them. Wish I found them 40 years ago. Absolutely mesmerising. Beautiful arrangements and beautiful singing. Undoubtedly one off the most Beautiful voices off all time ! The Seekers music will be timeless!
I must have played this video at least 50 times during the pandemic in 2020! The lyrics are perfect! To my wife, Bev, “I’ll never find another you!”
So well said...
the kardashians are a joke thay are plastic and judith is the real thing with her beautiful talented voice
Cindy....
You said it...✔✔✔✔✔PERFECTLY!

Just look at the times and you can see why they're popular. Pathetic.
Voice is clear as a bell. One of the best songs ever.
I'm an 80's-90's kid and I absolutely love Judith's voice. I think it is one of the best of all time.
Agree 100%.
Judith.......just an effortless, pure voice. An angelic voice now out singing the angels.
No autotune. No special effects. Not studio tricks. Just raw talent.
Still love this!
I never get tired of hearing this song. Great job.
i was 16 when this was on WLS in Chicago in 1965. We baby boomers are inexorably aging, but this tune, and for that matter The Seekers, remain timeless.
bernie cahane The Seekers are regarded as a national treasure to us Australian boomers.
I couldn't agree more.
Pure class ,harmonies incredible.
One of the greatest songs of the 60s. Still great 60 years later.
Nostalgic as hell to me, i used to listen with my now departed mother on a old bush radio in the late 60s.It brings a tear to my eyes now.
When I was young, this record was almost the only I listened to. Now I am 70 years old and still listen to this..Judith all the best to you...
Thanks to all
Rest In Peace, Judith Durham- a major part of quality music left us when you did.
Heard it for the first time while working a holiday job at 15 and it made an impression that still exists 50 yrs later❤
How this gets 910 thumbs down is beyond understanding. Seekers music forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just born beautiful now angle in haven 😍 bless her
Judith is so, so pretty, & her voice has got to be among the best ever recorded !
I agree 100%. I saw her and the Seekers on a video with Andre Rieu at one of his concerts around 2010 and she is just as perfect now as she ever was.
She had the same remarkable voice in her 60s as she had at 18
Thank you Australia for several gorgeous lassies with angelic voices.....gone too soon!
It would be impossible for Judith Duram to look any cuter than she does in this video 💝❤️
Never can get enough of the Beautiful music the sing. Loved them in the 60s, still love them in 2021. Fan Forever
A beautiful song and performance! Love this song.
Always loved them, Judith has such a pure voice and such a gorgeous lass, shame to think there are generations that have not heard of them.
Miss Durham has not just a female voice, she has that is spades, but also the very voice of an angel. What a gift!
I loved the seekers, but didn’t realise they were Australian, until about 8 years ago. Thank you for loaning then to us in the 60s
Oh this will be adorable forever!!! That little thing just singing like a bird, too beautiful!
Judith is an incredible singer. Great performance.
Thanks
James
Best folk group ever? Yes I think so! Judith Durham's voice makes my eyes water! Exceptional music.
Absolutely Brilliant. Love them all.x.
Same here, pity we cant see them as they were in 1968 live
People say that about my voice, too...
Robert Stevens Folk Music! That is it! The type. In the era of Peter, Paul and Mary. Thanks.

Allan Atkinson My thoughts too are EXACTLY the same as yours ! Well said, buddy .......
Allan Atkinson Well put. All these tunes that are available give me flashbacks to home and my childhood too.
Allan Atkinson High 5 Allan
Please Adele listen to somebody like these people. Every time I listen to her I nearly become suicidal. The Seekers for me are top draw. Just Wish I had been old enough in the sixties to appreciate them.
+Peter Miller My goodness, what you've missed! I'm glad you finally found them! Judith Durham was (and still is at 70+) an angel from heaven! :)
+Rozelinde Raes
Same thing happened to me!
+Rozelinde Raes nice picture..have a great day...
+Rozelinde Raes Those were the days my friend...Glad you found a wonderful treasure...
RIP Judith. Loved your voice and this song. God speed sweet lady. I’ll miss your voice. 😘❤️🙏
The Seekers, good music, good harmony Judith is a Beauty, we need more of this.
I AM STILL IN LOVE WITH JUDITH. THE GUYS HARMONY IN THE BACKGROUND MAKE THEIR SOUND SO UNIQUE. AUSTRALIA'S GIFT TO THE WORLD OF MUSIC: THE SEEKERS.
Just pure and simple lyrics, sang elegantly well and performed by artists of the music world.
I'll never not enjoy The Seekers and their music. This brings back so many great memories. It is my kind of music.
