This beautiful song came out two years before I met my wife Suzan. It was love at first sight! I was 16 and she was 15. We got married in 1969,I was19 and she was 18.I wasn’t considered an adult so I needed my mothers permission to marry! I got drafted the same week of the wedding! She just passed away just before Thanksgiving after 51 years of marriage When I hear this song it still makes me cry Honey, there will never be another you!
It's wonderful that you made it home after being drafted, and it's wonderful that you had the half century of life together...That's a life well lived my friend! It's wonderful to have something to flood back all those memories...Music is our most powerful connection... Good Health and peace to you and yours.
First, I wish you peace and consolation. Almost my story. My wife (Sandra) and I grew up about a1/2 mi. apart. We knew of each other but we went to different schools. Because of mutual friends we started hanging around. She was 15 and I was 16. In Feb. '68 I went in the A. F. and she waited for me. A year into my enlistment we got married. Feb '69. 5 kids, 3 mortgages, and 2 careers later we are retired and still together. God bless you Joe.
This song is so beautiful I love the seekers and Judith durram so beautiful brings back memories of me and my wife when we young omg rip Judith so brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful song with awesome lyrics. Judith sings exceedingly great. I can never get fed up listening to this song over and over again. The seekers were my all time favorite from my childhood days and I still listen to them time and again.
Judith was the personification of beauty, talent and class...Her voice unparalleled....Her songs timeless...From one life long fan, rest in peace Judith.....Sing with angels....
Wow, that sucks. I didn't know. They made appearances till a few years ago and she looked as dynamic as ever. The Seekers provided many of my favorite childhood tunes.
the reason why it sounds so good, you have real musical instruments, with real musicians making it all come to "LIFE"!!!. it was all done without computers, or drum machines!!!!. good tunes never get old, I was7 years old when this tune hit the air waves, and I still like to hear it, I have yet to get tired of it. this tune has stood the test of time!!!!. I will say one thing, JUDY DURHAM" has really got a set of "PIPES" on her, she really made that tune come to life!!!!
So effortlessly beautiful Judith had the power and talent to move u light years away but lets nor forget the superb rich harmonies and superb instrumental backing from the boys.
Tom Springfield started this whole lil thing. Much respect. Caught on this song. Don't let it ever go away. Seekers and especially that lil lady bring it to this very day. Thank you for music artists♥️
LOVED JUDITH DURHAM AND STILL DO A VOICE OF AN ANGEL AND BEAUTIFUL AS WELL DIDN'T NEED TO BE HALF NAKED SHE HAD CLASS REAL CLASS SHE IS FANTASTIC AND ALWAYS WILL BE.
This is my favorite Seekers song. I was only in elementary school when they were popular and I can remember Georgy Girl playing on the radio. I love the sound and look of this video. It just brings me back to my childhood.
Back in the day when bands were trying to change the world and be political, there was a band called The Seekers who reminded us that music was about good songs, singing well and joy and happiness.
The seekers sang quite many songs which had social/political meanings, but they were not agitators - in fact, they were quite reserved on that , compared with other fellows of this time. They also kept their private lifes their own business most of the time
The Seekers recorded Blowin in the Wind, The Times They are a Changin, Kumbaya, What Have they Done to the Rain, This land is your Land and a number of other folk standards. Good songs that they sang very well. The drew their inspiration from the blacklisted left-wing American folk group The Weavers. Judith wrote moving tributes to Mary Travers and Ronnie Gilbert when they died. The Seekers were not as non-political as many think.
That is what this song is all about. I did not want to make you feel sad; but to realize you can not replace people, especially those you love and those who love/loved you dearly.
this woman had a beautiful voice, with great backup,,but still most now a days don't know her and she was amazing..and i loved the whole group btw...i was a little kid but my parents played their songs :)
If there’s a way to go back to that time…just think…to go back to your youth…. It good to hear this song ones again!!! It bring back so many memories.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏👏👏👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍻🍻🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is our song, my fiancee fell in love with this so beautiful song the first time I messaged it to her, with an LDR the music joins us together. Our song.
A mono recording of a beautiful song (the original was mono on 1/4 inch Reel to Reel , it still is an unbelievable song. I know it was rerecorded in stereo on a 8 track board about a year later. This was one of the most underrated bands in the world. I still think the best Australian band
I help run a bar,,,we have a didigtal kind of jukebox ,,,young youths come in and play all the old stuff,,,I’m 60 and they go back before my time,,I asked A young lady,,,I said I find it u enjoying this type of music,,,her reply was,,this is the best ever music because what is out there now SUCKS,,,coming from a 21 year old young lady,,,I couldn’t agree with her more!
So sad that during this period, she thought she was superfluous to the group, when she was what made them unique and special. I'm so pleased to hear she realised later, that that wasn't true.
I never tire of hearing this enchanting song and the beautiful voice of Judith Durham. Watch their 1965 appearance on the NME to see and hear, what I consider, their best performance of this song. th-cam.com/video/PcY4o3ibMI8/w-d-xo.html

Pure class ,harmonies incredible.
With all their equipment they have now they still can’t record something as well done as this beautiful song.
Of course they can. Even better, except for the invisible percussion player, I must say. 😀 Don‘t forget, music is not a competition.

Love the "CLIP" they were great. Those were good times !!! 😎😎
One of the finest, talented, gifted musicians ever, simply wonderful, their music will enjoyed by people
of all generations and for years to come.
I’m 40 and this years before I was born. I have never heard any one sing as well as this lady. Amazing
Try Connie Francis "Time Alone Will Tell". Connie had the same effortless quality to her voice.
Magnifique chanteuse j'adore une autre époque.❤❤
Theres a certain dedication to this beautiful song that stands up today as it did all those years ago.

She had a very tragic life when she left her religious order. RIP. Wonderful song.
of all female voices Judith Durham was the best. And with Dusty Springfields Brother Tom as the writer of their songs that was just perfect.
