    1. Shailaputri- the born child, named and known by fathers name
    2. Bramhacharini- the student starting the journey of schooling
    3. Chandraghanta- the graduated student, the bride
    4. Kushmanda-the next stage of life, the pregnant women, the pot in hand symbolises womb
    5. Skanda mata- the mother, who has delivered a baby, thats why baby is in the lap and now the mother has attained motherhood so there is not a single weapon in multiple hands, rest are all the aspects of divine mother
    6. Katyayini- the divine mother
    7. Kalaratri - the warrior mother who can do anything for her child.
    8. Mahagouri- the grandmaa, or the wise
    9. Siddhidaatri - the key of happiness in a family
Did u see the pattern, this is the aspect of every women in earth she is a daughter a student a bride, a wife a mother etc. This kind of symbolism is used in hinduism. Muktiple heads represents wisdom, knowledge, multiple hands represents power, and also multiple legs represents speed.
For god holding all stuff try VISHWAROOP FORM OF GOD

From the logical perspective, yes it might get exhausting to decide which deity to worship, there are so many. But all are one. You can pray to a deity who is just shown with two hands, or thousands of arms, it depends on the devotion and love of the devotee of where they reach in their spiritual evolution. There are majorly three sects in Hinduism, Shaktas ( who consider divine mother to be supreme and everything has originated from her, like shown in this video ), Shaivas ( who consider Lord Shiva to be supreme ), and Vaishnavas ( who considere Lord Vishnu to be supreme ). Its just the devotee who decides which deity they feel closest to, love the most, and starts worshipping that deity. Eventually that person gets the blessings of all the forms of the divine, even of other religions as all are one, even if they haven't prayed to any of them. One's own karmas and devotion are the most important factors. Which deity you choose, it doesn't matter as all are one only, and lead you to the same state of self realisation, enlightenment etc whatever you want to call it. If you can't choose one, pray to everyone then or just one, or two or three, you really can't go wrong here and eventually by regular and consistent spiritual prayers/practice, you'll be shown and guided to your ishta devta or ishta devi ( meaning chosen or favourite deity ).

There something called Durga sapthasati sadhana which is beej mantras for the 9 forms. If you just listen and meditate, it will bring closer to true self. The reason is the 9 forms of ego which stops us from realizing the true self are merged and transformed in to silence. This a deep energy practice which only given to devoted ones.

I am the clarified butter, I am the fire and the act of offering. Of this universe, I am the Father; I am also the Mother, the Sustainer, and the Grandsire. Real? What's real? That worldview is too primitive. Stories in Hinduism are symbolic. It's about what devotees are seeking and the messaging. Besides they are about supernatural so the images also should not be compared to your normal human being. Multiple arms represent the different attributes related with the deity. Yes it's stacked as it should be. It's art with a clear purpose and message for devotees. Number of arms is not about how many arms they have, but what they hold or doing. What the idols hold, their mount and accessories, tells the devotees which deity it is. Any form of devi or devata is representation of attributes one devotees want to worship for the ideals we strive for. It all comes back to basic worship of Shakti.
For clarity of context: Jesus images also stacked with cross all the time to remind it's people what he represents.

You guys are getting confused because in this video they skipped a lot of story... The story you were watching is not all true example (he said daksha always hate lord shiva but truly he likes shiva a lot & prayer to ma parvathi and had boon from ma parvathi to born has a child to him... Later he happy accept shiva to marry his daughter ma parvathi.. But in between one moment happend that dhaksh went to one yagna at that place while he was going every body respected him by standing even Lord Vishnu & brahma expect shiva.. Then he started hating shiva... So then this whole story had happened...) so don't be confused by seeing this half knowledge sharing videos... If possible go to our originals books like shiva, vishnu, brahma & devi purana so that you Can get knowledge.... R there are some channels that share complete knowledge by sharing in episodes like 100 - 1000 plus videos based on each purana go through them to get better knowledge

Pieces of Sati's body did not just fall all over. Shiva was crazed over her death and he carried her body on his back. Shiva is known as the Destroyer of the Trinity and soon the worlds began quaking because of his rage. The Gods went to Vishnu for help. He sent his discus, the Sudarshan Chakra after Shiva. The Chakra cut away Sati's body till there was nothing left of her. Then Vishnu pointed this out to Shiva and he calmed and went up to Kailash mountain, his abode. The 52 pieces of Sati's corpse landed in different places across India and are worshipped.
You know the statue of the dancing Shiva, or the Nataraja? You can see four arms, those of Sati and his .

all these pauranic stories are metaphorical and each story and god associated with it represents certain aspects of a persons spiritual journey and cosmic events . yes all the goddess have many things in common because they were never meant to be taken as literal figures but a spectrum of feminine energy which expresses itself in different circumstances . and goddess worship in india is the result of realization of spiritual seekers that they our existance is only possible due to the coexistance and harmony of both the masculine and feminine aspects of creation and creator and tries to see the creation with a feminine perspective and the role of feminine energy in the life of men as well as women and each and every other creature .

This was i growing up as a child confused. Sometimes it says lord shiva created everything, other times they keep lord Vishnu as the creator and other times its Devi Shakti.
I think its because of the existence of philosophies of shaivism, shaktism and Vaishnavism.
Initially All of them existed separately later with time they merged. People started to think we can select a philosophy or god they really connect with and they start keeping that god as the centre. But respecting other beliefs as well. Because ultimately god is one with various names, insulting any of the god is equivalent to insulting your own beliefs as well.

Adi Shakti is the energy dwelling in your veins and the thought 💭 process the very energy who stores dna patterns and distinguishes a dog puppy from a man’s baby. Yes that energy is within ourselves to understand this concept Vedanta and Upanishads are very useful for you guys.
Tesla, Schrödinger, Oppenheimer, Bohr and many more famous scientists basically mentioned how Upanishads and Vedanta helped them. Arnold Schrödinger even goes as far as saying quantum mechanics is not a fairy tales to someone who has read Vedanta and Upanishads. The stories are indeed a bit confusing, but the number of times you hear those stories, the easier it gets to understand the sequence of events. Every civilization has stories about how the world was created and their own concept of God and the stories differ as well. However, Hinduism is Science -- what Science has understood till now and what it has yet to find out.
Science recently found out about the Dark Matter, a thing that forms the basis of everything -- living and non-living thing alike. It is what resides in vacuum, it is what's inside stars, and it is what's inside the nucleus of living and non-living cells. That omni-present, all encompassing thing is what Shakti is. So when they say she decided to live inside the sun, it then becomes easy to comprehend. But because she is inside everything that you can or cannot see or measure, it means she is inside all of us too. So while she is all powerful, larger than life, towering over you, sort of, she is also microcosmic, residing within you, within each cell in your body, each electron and proton and DNA of your body. So if you get overwhelmed by her power, you can visualize her at a smaller scale, as small as you are comfortable to fathom. That's why Hindus bow down in Namaskar to you -- it is to recognize the cosmic power residing within you.
The multiple arms, legs and heads are symbolical, spiritual or physical, based on each person's understanding and openness to grasp the concept. Head is the master of the body, so one head can depict focus. Multiple heads can depict focus on multiple things (not distraction, but focus no multiple things). It may also depict multiple beliefs or mastery in multiple schools of thoughts or religions or various things. Similarly, two hands means exceptional skills or work in one or two things. Multiple hands may depict skills or mastery in multiple things. For example, world master in Fighting (like Karate, Jujitsu, etc.) will have two hands, but world master of Karate AND Medicine will have 3 or 4 hands. Karate, Medicine, AND Business will have one or 2 more hands.
The things that appeal to people NOW about them is that their energies can still be experienced. Why these stories have survived for thousands and thousands of years? Because if you sit in meditation, and are curious to know about these Gods, irrespective of your cultural background or beliefs, you can still see their story in your mind's eye. You can still see the battles as if it's happening right in front of you. I have always been a hard core science believer, an atheist, but then I meditated and now know which spiritual Guru is telling the right story and who is not, who is describing which form of the Goddess as right and who is describing it wrong. I have never read any scriptures, not good with reading spiritual books, but now I can simply tell. And if I meet another spiritual person who has seen it in his/her mind's eye too, we both will agree on the same points. It's mindblowing actually. It proves that these stories are not flights of imagination, because if they were, people wouldn't describe the same things, in detail, to the dot.
These people we call Gods not only protected people and the universe then, but if we are in trouble in CURRENT TIMES, we can call upon them and their energies will still protect us on an individual or group level and save the universe now as well. It's all about energies and as Science says, "Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, it can only be transferred from one form to another or shifted from higher energy levels to lower levels." So when we need the energy, the strength, in difficult or testing times, or sudden danger or even accidents, if we just think of the right God or Goddess, their energy can protect us, save us, or give us strength to go through the difficult time.
What I am trying to say is, we don't worship Gods and Goddesses to please them; it is to GAIN things for our own selves. You want money, you worship Goddess Lakshmi; you want to excel at studies, worship Goddess Saraswati; you want to be good at dancing and arts, worship Shiva; you want to be naughty pulling pranks and winning hearts, worship Krishna; you want to be good at meditation, worship Shiva; you can't settle down at one place, always roaming around, sometimes being cool, sometimes throwing your weight around, you are like the Wind God, so worship Hanuman; if you are scared or troubled by supernatural, worship Hanuman; if you want to lead a righteous life, worship Ram. That's why we have so many Gods and we worship specific Gods at specific times in life, as per our mood or circumstances.
But reaching a higher level in Hinduism means understanding the nirvikara (meaning God that has no form, no sound, no smell, no colour). In terms of Science, consider God as Energy. Shakti literally means Energy. Energy is omni-present -- its in stars, it's in amoebas, its in humans and its in stones and rocks too. But if you can't fathom Energy, then Hinduism gives it forms. Wind God, Fire God, Creation God (Brahma), Sustenance God (Vishnu) and Death God (Shiva), Money and Wealth Goddess Lakshmi, Education Goddess Saraswati, etc. So if you wish, you can worship different Gods and Goddesses at different times, you can resonate with different Gods and Goddesses at different times, but if you are spiritually at a higher levels, you would understand that all Gods are one, all creatures are one, all humans are one, just like all cells in your body are one -- YOU. The moment you realize this, consider yourself at a higher spiritual level.

I feel you guys are just viewing the video make a reaction of it and not take away anything from it. If you know you are not being respectful then please do not comment on it. I have watched many youtubers who made first time reaction videos of various aspects of Hinduism and even in their ignorance were never as disrespectful as you guys are, despite this reaction to Hinduism not being your first. I hope you take this as constructive feedback and refrain from being callous about another culture. If something seems very difficult to understand or weird to you do not comment insensitively and impulsively, take a moment and introspect a bit or move on from commenting if nothing else comes to your mind. You have a lot growing up to do in this aspect.

In Sanatan time is cyclic and not linear, this concept is not easy to understand, in simple words, time repeats and so does events , so it's like in 3 different times, 3 different universes, Demon Mahisasur slayed, Ugeachandi Chandraghanta and Durga, they are same with slight differences I energies and form. Eg on Lion She is Durga, on Tiger different form, on peacock etc. Also left foot up Shamshan Kali, Right foot Bhadrakali

All of this... People wrote what they saw... Cannot be made by 1 person... All stories consistent, interconnected and no contradictions... Nobody objected to the writings, cuz they lived through those eras as recorded in the books... No other religions brew there, no such thing as prophet here.

God is only 1 & Hindus have sects like Christians /Muslims have so Some Hindus call him as Mother Goddess and some call as Father -Vishnu or Shiva.
in Bhagavad Gita Krishna Said I am only Mother and Father, so Goddess supreme Shakti and Vishnu /Shiva are 1
Goddess Shakti is form of Ultimate Narayana he is both female and male forms, and from him only Brahma , Vishnu and Shiva came and all Shakti avatars and Vishnu avatars have came up.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 9.16-17: It is I who am the Vedic ritual, I am the sacrifice, and I am the oblation offered to the ancestors. I am the medicinal herb, and I am the Vedic mantra. I am the clarified butter, I am the fire and the act of offering. Of this universe, I am the Father; I am also the Mother, the Sustainer, and the Grandsire. I am the purifier, the goal of knowledge, the sacred syllable "Om" I am the Ṛig Veda, Sāma Veda, and the Yajur Veda.

Puranas are not meant to be taken literally, especially with much of the knowledge lost in the last millennia. It's said that only enlightened individuals can truly understand it. But yes, the explanation I often hear is that Puranas are stories of not one but many creations of many universes across the Multiverse. Hence things overlap regarding who did what. Another explanation is that the Puranas are the personification of celestial events. Who knows, this is how things were taught 20000 years ago.

That's the basically different forms of women. It's a celebration of women and their strength.Women who creates life, who can protect people she loves, who can go to any length for her children and her love, he nurtures and gives love to everyone but once you hurt the people she loves, she can destroy you to dust.it's a celebration of this femininity. Not just Devine but every female is the part of this Devine. Sadly people don't understand this things and they take litterly things from the stories. One hand i saw people celebrating navratri and on other hand i saw so many men slut shaming women for just wearing the clothes of her choice. One hand they pray to Goddess and other hand they wants to control all the women. Abusing them. Double standard of some people. If people had understand such this smile thing..We would not have so many rapes and abuse of females in our Society. They would not treat females like their puppets.

Bro dont confuse this story are not accurate। I told you final concept of sanatan dharma everything in universe come from shiva and parvati or shakti। Shiva represent masculine energy and parvati represent feminine energy but one important thing is both are one not different shiva is parvati and parvati is shiva ❤️🔱he create whole universe with his diffrent form it is totally his illusion shiva and parvati is everything and is is one not two ❤️🔱

Patriarchy was never part of hinduism.. patriarchy became prominent after mogul invasion and then further exercebated because of colonialism.... it is the only major religion in the world where men and women are equally represented as powerful...
Secondly, you're not meant to be into all forms of ma durga. You need to understand where you are in life and what form of ma durga does your current state of mind resonate with... that's what you need to be into.. it's not a magic pill.

It's difficult to understand for the people of one book religions.
