A hike that ended in disaster!! Cheedale Stepping Stones

- Today, we set off to explore the famous Cheedale stepping stones, an old lime kiln structure, and the Magpie Mines.
Walking along the Monsal Trail of the Derbyshire Dales was meant to be fairly straightforward, but alas, as we know, Lilu's adventures always take a tricky yet usually humorous turn!
This is part one of the days exciting adventure....
hope you enjoy 😊

Great to see you back cant wait for part 2 and good luck with your exams ❤
Thank you!! 😊
I’m amazed that you’re videos don’t get the following they deserve, they are so informative to new car campers and some of the places you go are gorgeous, keep them coming and hopefully you’ll get the views you deserve 👍🏻
Thank you, yes if can be frustrating that unless you wild camp you don't get the views but I will keep on doing the vids I enjoy.... thank you for watching
One of my favourite peak district walks starts from that car park. Monks Dale then cutting through Wormhill to return via Millers Dale.
Also the steps by the abseiling bridge are worth a close look. Absolutely riddled with fossils. Best wishes.
Thanks for the info! Il definitely be going back in drier weather!
That's the problem with nice weather...it brings people out!
Very true!!
Well thanks for the video but I will give the mud a miss. Well done for avoiding the worst and also the kids 😂😂
Part 2 gets even muddier, haha, but thank you for watching 👀 ☺️
Wondering along with in spirit
You did well staying on two feet ! Really thought you were going to go butt surfing at one point 😄
Oh there is still time in part 2!!
So much mud! 😢 can't wait for part 2 😅
Very muddy but quite fun too
Gosh that wind😮
Yes annoyingly forgot to use the camera muff again!
Just found your channel, really enjoying it and best of luck with your exam!
Welcome aboard!
Great vid looking forward to part 2. I always find the best adventures where there are no paths x
Yes I actually avoid weekend adventures due to liking the place up myself but it was the only sunny day and I needed a break. Happy Easter Adrian 😃 part 2 ( or the full extended video, I'm not sure ), will be coming very soon
@@AdventuresWithLilu Happy Easter to you and your family . It's so good to see you smiling and enjoying the adventure x
Pizza addition! I enjoyed The Blue John Mines when I visited Derbyshire. Good luck with your Exam ✌🥂🇬🇧
Oh wow! you're too kind, thank you 😊 happy easter 🐣
@@AdventuresWithLiluHappy Easter 😊
Thank you a second time for your kindness. ❤ @@gregphillips.1312
Luli is definitely a club hiker....even though she hikes solo, but hiking in a group means someone has always made the campfire already, although everything is sort of on the clock then, or you'll loose your ride back.
Great video hun, nothing better than a good marander. Even better with the sound of running water, buy yourself some waterproof gators . Well done, keep them coming. Loved the hair by the way x
Yeh the gators are waterproof I didn't get wet thankfully. My hiking shoes are pretty good for cheap ones. (Regatta) and thank you for watching 😊
I always take a hiking pole with me, I helps to get through the mud, walk on the side of the mud with the pole in the mud part to aid balance (usually!) great scenery
I left then in the car!!!
Nice to see you out and about good luck with everything take care and keep safe ❤
Thank you! You too!
Great video, lots of history and great scenery on that area
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video very well done & you have a great personality to match.
I don't like crowds tho I prefer to be solo where's there's only me & my thoughts in nature.
I'm a bushcrafter & wildcamper aswell so mostly I walk off the beaten track & don't follow trails.
Good luck in your exams 😊
Thanks so much!
@@AdventuresWithLilu your very welcome 🙂
That looked fun! 😊
You're the same as me Lilu, I take the route with the least people too.
The saturated ground was just starting to dry out this week, daan sarf, but then we had heavy rain over 2 days, so we're back to square one again 😕 But at least the sun has good strength now.
Ahhh I know so frustrating it'll take ages to dry out properly.....
Great video and lots of mud! Looking forward to Part 2. May I be so rude as to ask what exam you are taking? In any event, the very best of luck. Cheers.
I cant say yet, too many eyes watching (that I work with) but il reveal as soon as I can 😄
Wow! Cool!@@AdventuresWithLilu
Was great seeing you again. Beautiful area there and signs of spring. Was the car park in the beginning of the video an old train station? Hope you do well on your exam. Was that all your real hair which was amazing. I pray you get some warm sunny days. Florida is nice right now. Stay well and be safe.
I assume its the station for the Midland Line before it was closed. I make the extensions and weave them in..my hair I cut shorter so I like to change it up..takes aboit 3 hours to install and can leave in about 4 week 😀 and yeh I'm actually struggling a lot behind the scenes, life isn't good. But thought going out would help.. it did briefly. And yes sunshine! Foggy and cold today though
Nice to see you back out and about good luck with everything take care and be safe ❤
Never been there. Look forward to part 2. 20 years ago I would be pestering them to let me abseil that aqueduct. Mud glorious mudis everywhere
Hahaha not for me I don't like heights! Lol
@@AdventuresWithLilu I need to lose about 20kg. But now spring is here I can get out more.
Are you going to return there in wellies? :)
You had az amazing hiking there.
Yes I am!
iv just been there last week to record a video and luckily the river was high, but the mud was awful.
I think the mud will take a long time to dry out this year. I personally just found the place too busy...
@@AdventuresWithLilu Not if you go at 6 am... :) th-cam.com/video/S2AqOVyv-ZI/w-d-xo.html
I love finding a side path rather than getting caught up in the crowd
Ugh so many people!
Can you not put your bike in the back of the car.
I'd scratch the car trying lol
You should bring the bike You would have great fun i cycle allover Ireland great way to see the country side best of luck with your exams .
