My biggest struggle is to be able to speak English, I understood everything you shared in the video and I loved the tips. I will put them into practice. Thank you for the content.
I'm learning Korean at the moment but strangely the best language learning experience I've had was when I had to learn a Tagalog song to sing in front of people. This was a big family event too with important people. I've been playing guitar and such for many years so live singing doesn't phase me. I've come across the phrase "Practice until you don't make mistakes, then practice so you can't forget". The song was Handog by Florante. I learned the music and the lyrics well in about 2 weeks, just spending chunks of minutes a day on it. But then I spent another 4 months being able to recall it and sing it like I'd be singing this song since childhood. And now I can literally roll it off my tongue just like that. This was 2 years ago. I can still remember the whole thing. Maybe it helps to sing sentences strange as that sounds but it definitely helps to focus on a certain topic as this song did.
Great video, Danyo. I liked the bit about Problem-based learning. It's true that the quickest advancement in language comes from actually speaking the language. PS: you used a lot of really good examples to relate the point which helped a lot!
Hi Dan, it's a wonderful episode as usual, right now i speak four languages, speaking usually takes me so long, the other skills i manage the develop them quickly, and as i am learning chinese currently i don't want go through the same. This video es su helpful. I like your content, because it's based on your personal experience and you share it sincerely and you go directly to the point, thank so much for the work you put on every sigle video. Wish you the best
Thanks for your kind words Nina, the videos do take some time but it's worth it if I can help other learners with my mistakes, let me know if there are other challenges you want me to cover.
My goal is also to speak and understand spoken Mandarin Chinese. I've been at this for 4 years now. I haven't missed a single day these past 4 years where I wasn't studying Chinese. I still have a long way to go as I've been self-studying, so it's been all over the place, 乱七八糟的. My speaking has been one area where I've had a lack of focus, as I only self-talk. When I do speak with natives, they always understand me right away, get very happy, etc, etc, all that good stuff... and when I'm speaking online like in games, they may ask if I'm Chinese. Sure, that's all fine and good; and it makes me feel proud of getting to that point. BUT when natives start speaking BACK to me, there will be times when I get lost, and that makes me so frustrated. And that makes me obsessively learn more and more and more vocabulary through sentences audio, because after you communicate, someone's probably gonna communicate back. So I need to figure out the trick to tie all my efforts together. It's probably to just start speaking more, right? And then it'll all start coming together maybe?
First congrats on your progress and dedication, it's impressive. From what youve told me it sounds like you would benefit from practicing listening to native conversations and how to respond back to responses in a colloquial way, feel free to contact me if you need any help.
Thank you, 🙏 this is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m assuming that you either came to america below 10 or was born there. If not, how did you learn English ?
@@thedanyopang Ok Mr Pang...by using your technic,I'm struggling Rusian langguage which is very hard. As for Mandarin I just use as daily conversation among my Chinese Indinesian friend..that's including Hokkien and Teowchiu community ...thanks again
What about those of us who speak but don't understand what we're saying? ;P jkjk I'm still working on getting to the point of comprehending other's conversations in my learning language.

This is a perfect example. You focused on a particular song and you applied it in context. Gold!
This makes so much sense but I have never heard anyone talk about such a process. thanks so much
Glad I could help 😁
Great,I liked how you related your field of study (kinesiology) to language learning ,learning from general to specific ,very scientific explanation!
Glad to know someone caught that! 😁
