Trent is still my idol till this day the mans a musical genius and is the fucking king of industrial!!!! his music has gotten me through all the bullshit i deal with on a daily basis!!
@@jessica5497 true, and I think an unfortunate reality is that drugs open us up to those super strong emotions in a unique way which can bring even more out of a person. Your perceptions are all distorted and you're honestly somewhere else most of the time. Not attempting to romanticize drug usage either 😬but no I am a gigantic fan of Trent and his work, he is a one-in-a-million musical mastermind and a strong as hell human being for overcoming the shit he's gone through.
the And all that Could have Been DVD is great. What a stellar performance and amazingly mastered and mixed sound. Interesting interview thank you for posting.
When I met him in Honolulu. His hair was red, not bright red, but not brown. It's a powder and pencil you can use on your stubble. His make-up artist does it.
I remember watching this live when it aired with a great friend. We couldn't believe NIN was on fucking direct tv haha. This is the end of my fav version of nine in nails. The Fragile is a masterpiece

wtf are you talking about? Year Zero was ground-breaking. Ghosts was interesting.. and the Slip was quite good, I don't really consider it an actual release since it's only 9 tracks, basically, and that it was released for free. I'm just waiting for his next major release.
i think you're wrong on that one, and right, all of his albums are ground breaking, no getting around that, you cant have the same sound, style constantly, you just end up like metallica, korn and all those other bands that lose their touch, i just love how he changes his styles up with each album. so they're all ground breaking.
thats called focus, development and ambition. Manson probably lost any real belief in the messages he was sending. trent moved on, NIN is still relavent
I somewhat do see your point but one of the main reasons to listen and watch a live badass dark rock metal industrial show from one of your favorite rock idol, is to get out of that boring ordinary mainsteam lifestyle that you go through every fuckin day. And for a few times in your life, you get into an exciting badass stimulating fantasy!! I mean that in a rock and roll term not sex. :) I'm a very deep talker, excuse me. :)
Original Gothic Industrial rocker style. Right now its like he's conforming to everybody else (as of style) And slowly it might be his music, or maybe not. But I will say that's more unlikely.
well i see what you mean but another thing is, having long hair does tend to get annoying, i just cut mine after 3 years, and he (to be honest) he looks odd buff and with long hair, to me it only works with skinny mud covered trent, not the buff family man we have now
well true, but i say family man because ive seen videos where he has said things like "i tried not to say "fuck" this show, but fuck it" and in another interview he said his approach on road rage is kill them with kindness like "blowing them a kiss" or winking at them lol
@forgtn Right, and he's just a human, not a god. I met him years ago after the Broken EP was released, and we spoke for 20 minutes, but he didn't drone on and on over one question like he does here. I think he's gotten a bit self-righteous and important, but I suppose fame can do that to a person.
Grow up?! Come on he's a rock star! It's not like Trent's a blue collar average joe working a 9-5 job and getting by/ making ends meet. I mean look at Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Glenn Danzig, and Al Jourgensen those guys are 50 and over and still rocking like they were when they were 25!!! And Trent is only 43!! Its not like he's 70 or 80.
I heard a story about Reznor n his buddies taking Manson out into the middle of nowhere, stripping him naked, blindfolding him and letting him find his way back. This was apparently right b4 Manson got big. Ne body else heard that story?
He lived in her house for a while and recorded music there, so what. It's not like he urinated on her corpse and laughs manically at the thought of doing so.
Year Zero groundbreaking ah no offense but you must be deaf. Listen to Broken all the way up to the Fragile that is grounding breaking well (in my opinion and many others. ) :)
Well he could lose weight. :) And you gotta remember Trent will always be Trent the rocker and NEVER a family man!! My phlisophy to that would be keep on rockin to the end and never let true rock die!! NEVER!!
industrial jesus
trent reznor is the greatest musical genius of his generation. one of the greatest at least.
🎤🎹👍👍👍👍👍😇😎
nice scarf trent
no really. i like it.
frr it looks so comfy
I miss his hair so much
They are back in 2020! (even if I prefer him with short hair;)
@@pabloop9891 nowadays he looks exactly like this video
@@mechanicalanimal3721 yup he back to his long hair roots 😌💖
"Nice to be here (not really)."
I personally like his look here. It's a nice mix of his Self-Destruct era hairstyle with his modern bearded look.

early sober, depressed trent
Of course you can associate him with drugs but he is a musical mastermind and has come out with masterpieces.
also he did a ton of drugs
and made fantastic music partly due to a lot of drugs
@@kylemundy2024 not really, drugs can only do much as to make you less critical of what you're doing... Strong emotions and skill make good albums

I remember watching this intensely at 2 or 3 in the morning one day and feeling at peace. Weird times.
LMAO, yeah. I can't get that out of my head whenever I come back to this. "Lord" bless.
aww, he looks like a homeless person...
I'd definantly take him home if he was..
This was his "cocaine/alcohol/psych ward" period after touring for the Fragile. You are looking at a man close to rock bottom.
Heavens to Betsy! Actually you are referring to the period after Downward Spiral.
Actually this was him on the road to being clean
When I met him in Honolulu. His hair was red, not bright red, but not brown. It's a powder and pencil you can use on your stubble. His make-up artist does it.
Probably the coolest Reznor look.
Trent looks so delicious here.
It's just an interview and it's rate M, lol.
Someone once said this was Jesus Christ.
he looks kinda like Jesus ....
but he's still gorgeous
yep, I LOVE that album and dvd.
ITS SNAPE
he always kinda did look that way... "The Perfect Drug" music video for example
I do the same thing Trent...your one ov many inspirations ....
We hear Trent isn't feeling well. Get better soon Trent!
Ohh so thats why and all the could have been was such an melt your face dvd!

I remember watching this live when it aired with a great friend. We couldn't believe NIN was on fucking direct tv haha. This is the end of my fav version of nine in nails. The Fragile is a masterpiece
That facial hair....
love this man
I love him
Trent Reznor is Owen Wilson!!!!!!
What's nuts is, after he grew his beard, he had to dye the whole thing black, or at least his stylist. Because he's a ginger.
Holy Shit!!!! Richard D James is Trent's Twin!!!!!
HAHAHA I never in my life thought I'd hear Trent get compared to HIM... I see it though!
of course. he is also "one of the greatest", among many many others.
beard of sorrow.
@NataliaAnnF this interview is eight years old. he is a complete different person today.

@SubconsciousGatherer Sounds like thats what you brought to the table first my friend LOL! If not then explain to me of these "Dark Places"?
LOL for target? my grandmother did that, it pissed me off haha
@forgtn I didn't realize they let prison inmates have so much time online.
1:13 that little cut was wierd. I wonder why they did it
@MorrisonHotel87 im not surprised-trent has been in music longer
@RareAirSupply by chance are you referring to the bloodhound gang?

THE SECOND COMING
He looks like Georgos Samaras!
@SubconsciousGatherer Why are you not staying on the subject of Trent "precious"?
uh, ever heard of a guy called maynord?
Yes he made an album with him
He looks like Samaras!
before he got buff and hairless.

Reznor is God :)
Trentilicious.I love this NIN era,but he was fucked up and that's not cool.
i think OhGr is better then Man5on or Reznor : P
Ha ha! That would be interesting.
@Diolord89 Be careful. I'm primed and ready to take on anyone who wants to go to dark places.

you're excused lol
you have to grow up sometime.

@SubconsciousGatherer Lol you honestly can't come up with anything, can you? Wow.
