My wife Tiffany and I started our KETO journey on February 6, of this year (2018) and today June 24, 2018 so far I have lost 70 pounds and Tiff has lost 42 pounds without any exercise due to us both being physically disabled (I'm in a wheelchair). In addition we have lowered our blood sugar to the point that we no longer have to take our mealtime insulin and we have both stopped taking our daily insulin four days ago and our blood sugar is still doing great (all changes are approved by our Dr.). So we can't praise KETO enough to show you how we feel about it as KETO is literately saving our lives. We want to thank Dr. B. along with the other KETO proponents that have helped us on our KETO journey.
Seriously? I have 120 pounds to lose. Type II Diabetes, migraines, soo fatigued. Was it hard for you to start? Where did you start? How did you keep yourself motivated? I am really, really scared that I will fail and this is my last chance.
phriezia it’s not hard just start with a dirty Keto and progress to a normal Keto. It’s not hard after a week or two the cravings go away you start craving meats and fats.
I stopped eating processed food and fast food and am not doing keto and my inflammation is gone it’s not just doing keto that makes it go away it’s the total change in diet fast food is killing people slowly and so is all the processed frozen food sold in all stores in America even farmers markets like Sprouts I’m so done with processed frozen foods like even vegan pizza or gluten free pizza frozen or anything frozen I feel fresh foods and and fresh grass fed beef and chicken and fish is the best way to eat noting frozen unless you cooked it from scratch yourself
Same here with the IBS, Lynn ! I have been living this WOE for 2 months now and have not had a single IBS attack during this time. Seriously, I was having intense attacks at least twice a week and they happened anywhere to where if I couldn't get to a bathroom in time...well, let's just say it wasn't pretty. My attacks were so intense at times that I would actually projectilely vomit WHILE having uncontrolled diarrhea. And it was painful as Hell too. All these attacks are GONE and my tummy seems so happy with me now lol....I'm so glad to hear that your attacks are gone as well ! Keto on, girl !
I am 72, 5´2”, and on keto and IF lost 80 lbs. (200->120) and got off ALL meds: simvastatin, naproxin, tums, atenolol (bp), glipizide (T2 diabetes), coumadin. Frame of mind 100% better!!!!!!!! ❤️👍🙏
I have been Keto for 3 months and have experienced the following: -Lost 23 pounds in 3 months -Adult acne is gone, it was a constant problem prior -Reduced general inflammation (I can wear jewelry (rings) I have not been able to wear in years. - Reduction in asmtha symptoms, I no longer need my rescue inhaler and use my maintenance inhaler less -Wear smaller clothing sizes - Reduction in appetite and no more sugar cravings - Discipline to remain keto has improved and is very strong at this point. This is a way of life for me from now on. I have regained control and feel elated!
Thank you Dr. Ken Berry. I have been killing myself with the WRONG 😑 FOODS. I’m a type 2 Diabetic I have been for over 30 years. My daughter introduced me to the Ketogenic lifestyle. I’m on my way to better health.
11 weeks and 47.5 lbs down, my inflammation from a nuero disorder is gone. Every time I go somewhere to visit, I get ambushed into explaining what I am doing and to help them get started. First place I send them to is your channel. Thoughtful and insightful.
1. Lowers blood pressure 2. Slow aging process 3. Improves joint pain and inflammation 4. Decreases the frequency of auto immune diseases or decreases the severity if you have one 5. Improves mood 6. Improves heartburn/GERD 7. Cures fatty liver/pancreas disease 8. Optimizes hormones 9. Controls appetite 10. Improves acne 11. Weight loss 12. Can and does cure or reverse almost all types of cancer if carbs stay very low, almost zero, consistently, it can take weeks or months to get optimal results depending on type of cancer or it's stage 13. Can cure heart disease by reversing atherslerosis, less infammation of the arteries from less sugar ingested 14. Can prevent strokes 15.Can improve adrenal/thyroid issues because of decrease in inflammatory response to sugar 16. A 100% cure for type 2 diabetes, no sugar/carbs, no spikes in insulin, hyperinsulemia insulin levels drop, blood sugar levels drop, causing less insulin resistance and regeneration of pancreatic beta cells 17. #12-#16 are my opinions.
@@anthonycrosby8050 No, but there is some andectodal evidence, I have heard dr. Paul Saladino in one video (I think was interview with 2 frutarians) that pure carnivore could prevent at very start if just started. But much more research is needed. Carnivore can reverse many thing (and usually is ketogenic by nature). Once pancreas is gone to far I guess nothing to do. But keto/carnivore are great tools to help with management of type 1 as well as they prevent blood sugar roller coaster.
So far lost 30lbs in 2 months, no more arthritis/fibromyalgia joint pain, autoimmune better, weaning off Lexapro, IBS gone, no more fluid retention from my chronic congestive heart failure!!! Still on my hypertension meds as the diet really hasn’t brought my bp down yet! Oh... my fine lines on my face are better even though I’ve lost weight!
Perry Roach II.... You touched me with your comment... I am very happy for you... keep going and know that people who don't know you are thinking about your success and understand the difficulty it is to do this... I wish you all the very best. I am struggling myself with obesity and uncontrollable food cravings.
I thank my friend Jennifer for the day I first heard the word Keto. Then your video's Dr. Berry were like finding a vein of gold amongst the rocks. I will have been eating the Keto lifestyle (4 weeks tomorrow... June 29, 2018). I had burning nerve pain in my left forearm for over 7 years, 2 GP's and one specialist had no help for me... now GONE. I have had nerve pain along the left side of my foot for a couple of years (my Doctor's advice was to double up on pain meds to no avail) .. now GONE. I had chronic phlegm every morning that was difficult to clear so I could speak .. GONE. Along with those health benefits, I have dropped 10 1/2 lbs .. the fastest I have ever lost weight. What is amazing is most of it is coming directly off my belly. I have used other diets and yes I had some success with weight loss (unfortunately found again too) but I could never get rid of the stubborn fat around my waist and upper abdomen. I feel the best I have in years ..I would say the health benefits make me feel 10 years younger.
I started his diet August 1st. I weighed 344.7 pounds. I went to my DR office to get weighed and I was down to 337. I rode my bike there. My knees didn't hurt riding up the hill and when I got there I wasn't winded. I wish I knew about this years ago.
Hi doctor Ken. Last night my husband had a small amount of white rice at a party and this morning his leg is swollen again and tailbone hurts. I'm astounded. Just goes to show the value of your information about inflammatory food products that we take for granted until we stop eating them and reap the benefits. Many thanks for all you're doing!
Down from 254 at the end of December to 228 this morning and I feel great on Keto with so many benefits. I am not hungry and I can easily see myself staying on Keto! Thanks doc!
What do you think of GABA tablets or powder for Anxiety? Please I'm on keto and trying to taper my 6ml Alprax a addiction as my body has built up a tolerance after 17 years. DR'S are throwing more benzos and anti depressants at Meach but I refuse to become addicted to another substance I'm looking for natural ways / meds....would value any help you or anyone could give me
KenDBerryMD I am in ketosis. While doing IF for 24hrs + I will have a couple of Keto coffees a day with butter & MCT oil. My question is doing this, will I still burn my fat reserves? I am assuming so since the 2 coffees only amount to about 450 calories. So, even though I would burn the dietary fats first I should still burn my body’s fat reserves since being a male I need around 1800 + calories a day. Is my thinking correct in this? Thanks for your feedback. Mark in Naples, FL.
It seems my comments are in the main comment area and when I leave a comment it’s really meant for you and if you have the time to answer them great if you don’t they aren’t meant for other people to answer here, I don’t like advice from others because they aren’t doctors on TH-cam they are most of the time strangers and who knows who they are giving me answers , so if you can give me advice great
Doc Thank You! I started the Keto diet 3 weeks ago. I stumbled across you page because my sugars were out of control with spikes and crashes. I felt terrible all the time. I was taking 2 different insulins and a max does of metformin 2xday. After 1 week I had to stop all insulin and my sugars are like those of a non-diabetic. I am now lowering the metformin and will monitor that change as well. I am willing to bet I will not need it either. I just cannot believe how fast this has all changed. I have been on Heartburn meds since I was 13 (43 now) I have not taken anything in 2 weeks and I have no need for them. I am loosing wight, I no longer have uncontrollable food cravings. I think I can finally get rid of my 80lbs yoyo for good now. I don't feel like I am dieting or even missing out on anything when it comes to food. I have Hypothyroidism and after watch you videos on thyroid, acid blockers, and Vitamin D levels, I am excited to see if there will be an improvement. I have been taking 12,000 (units?)of D a week and was still low on Vitamin D. I have been sharing your youtube page with everyone that will listen. I am now going to check for blood pressure drops as I have been on those meds for ever too. THANK YOU!!!!
My husband is an FP doctor too. I hope my success is great, I have a lot of weight to lose, so I can get his attention and get him on board with keto! Thanks for caring and putting your excellent videos out there to help so many people!
Almost 1 month on keto diet. Hypoglycemia gone. Blood sugar stable. Off the blood sugar roller coaster. What a peaceful way of living! I eat till satisfied & stay satisfied for a long time, even forgetting i’ve skipped a meal. Thanks for leading the way for us newbies.
Keto for 9 mos. now. Went from size 10 to 6. Have no more arthritis pain, no more brain fog, no more knee pain, clearer skin, more energy, better moods. 65 and NO meds and physical was PERFECT!! Thank you for being a very responsible DR. Health changes with the right diet. It's simple and easy...once you get off sugar and grain. SO happy with my health!
I just told my waitress at lunch today about your channel. She wrote your name on her note pad. I was having lunch at Olive Garden (not my choice) but I actually found a great keto meal at Olive Garden believe it or not! So I was happy about that. I had six hours of sleep last night (came home from out of town late last night) and I am sitting here awake, watching this video, not sleeping all because I didn’t load up on 20,000 grams of carbs. And let me tell you, for YEARS I couldn’t go a Sunday without a nap. Sunday’s wear me out, they have not been a day of rest for me for a long time. And look now, I’m so much better because of keto. Thanks for these videos!
Sheriff I ordered the margarita chicken. It was 560 calories: two grilled chicken breasts with basil pesto, a few cooked grape tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. It came with a few slices of zucchini coated with Parmesan cheese and fried in olive oil. I had two bowls salad, too, with their Italian dressing. Not sure how many carbs are in the dressing, but I didn’t think about that at the time.

Fantastic, Dr. Berry! The Ketogenic way of eating has really changed my life. My energy levels are higher like I am 15 years younger, I sleep much better now (maybe because of the 40lbs I lost in the latest 5 months), no more bloating, inflammation, etc. Blood pressure is very good now, no need for medication anymore. I am just loving it! And your videos are awesome!
So I was at wk 13, no cheating, perfectly happy, lost 38 lbs, not having to take either one of my blood pressure meds (Metoprolol and Losartan 2X/day). Fast forward to my bday :( I was just going to go off for one day. Almost a month later and Im having to take both BP meds again. I feel like crap, have swelling in my legs, no energy, and always hungry with heavy cravings for sweet pastries and tortillas :( I have realized that one meal triggers me and I just cant do it. Ready to get Ketofied again and enjoy life again.
You can do it... Like Doc. Berry and Neisha say's, one size doesn't fit all on this WOE journey, so finding your groove is how it has to be done. A cheat meal or day isn't a trigger for me, but now you know its a trigger for you. Take care there and Keto-on! :)
I would definitely wait till fully keto adapted. After 4 mo. I was able to eat a bowl of Pho and had no adverse affect on glucose. Almost like it went straight thru with no absorption. And that was almost 150g of carbs. Wonder if rice digests differently?
Weight loss brought me to Keto but health gains have kept me here! No more Acne, dandruff, skin tags, Prediabetes, pre-hypertension, and my energy is through the roof! Keto for life!🌞💋💋
I had bad cystic acne from the age of 11 on. My parents put me on a low fat diet on the recommendation of my dermatologist. No fat on meat, skim milk, and even cans of Sego three times a day for months on end. My acne was horrible. And it just kept getting worse over the years. When I went to college I decided to eat whatever they gave me at the dining hall and my acne was gone in three months. Unfortunately, my weight has gone up and down my whole life. Now at the age of 67 I am doing the ketogenic diet and am very happy with the results. 10+ pounds down in a month and more energy, less arthritis pain in my hands. Yay!
Thank you for this video, Dr. Berry!! I am 22 and started keto 3 months ago. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder a few years ago, last year (July) I officially didn’t need my meds anymore but still had anxiety attacks, etc - since starting keto I have less/no anxiety at all. I can sleep through the night without melatonin (was given this cause I couldn’t sleep). I’m no longer pre diabetic, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and I’m only 4.4 points away from normal range- I’m on metformin but I’m working hard to not need it anymore, my glucose dropped 11 points & my A1C dropped from 5.8 to 5.4! I also have don’t get acne anymore (besides hormonal). My skin has NEVER been this clear! I also have less fatigue and on top of all this I’ve lost 9 pounds! I also have PCOS - so losing weight used to be basically impossible! Sorry for the long comment but you’ve helped me change my life - thank you!
Speaking on joint pain... I’m 50 with the knees of an 80yr old. An 80yr old with bad knees. I went to surgeon to schedule knee replacement. He said at my weight, surgery would be too dangerous. He didn’t know about Keto, but just said lose weight. Do gastric bypass if I need to. Wow. Wake up call. Now down 85lb with 50ish to go. Knees feel so much better. Someday they still may need replaced, but I’m sure putting that off and feeling great doing it.
I 100% agree with you! I lost 50kg on keto, but I'm also keeping it off. I'm 49 years old & I learnt so much about my body, brain & nutrition. Regular healthy exercise & self care balance is key for me. I stumbled across keto when I was really unwell with a rare illness. It really helping me heal my body with food. Like you said, it heals many things. Now I'm getting there.. Thank you for sharing.
I've been on keto for three weeks and I lost weight and stopped using my insulin because my blood sugar after eating a meal is to low to take insulin. I feel so much better. Pain in my back and knees have gone away. I have tried to lose weight for a long time and couldn't because I have hypothyroidism, keto has helped me to lose weight. I'm so thankful to you Dr Ken Berry for your videos on keto that now after 4 years I can lose weight and stop taking all these medications. Thank you so much. 💓
This is my first day on this keto diet with pre-diabetic for long time. I have heard positive and negative information about this diet, but being overweight for all my life, I am just tired of being overweight.
I am alot happier, since I started keto. I feel alot better about myself. Watching your videos and Dr. Bergs, Dr. Becky have helped me so much! Thank you Dr. Berry! I share your videos with my friends and family.
Great subject. I like your video about feeding the brain healthy fats. Fifteen yrs ago I thought I had early dementia I've been on KETO for a few years. Never felt better in memory. No grains, sugar, fruit (high fructose/worse than sugar). I don't miss any of it. Good fats, green veges. Sweet.
Dr. Berry, if you have time, we'd love to see you interview some of your patients who have healed themselves with keto foods. IF they'd be willing, you could interview them and show before and after pics, ask them about their struggles and such.
My testesrone level increases exponitial, before keto I was borderline obese, now my BMI reads normal. Keto is the best things that happened to my life.
We are so in love with your personality, especially your cute accent. I am originally from Russia.....speaking about accents, right lol. You are pretty amazing, smart and attractive. Love your videis with your wife. We can see you guys a very happy couple. Thank you for your hard work. Each video is very educatiinal and entertaining.
I have a ketogenic diet that includes lots of non-starchy vegetables. ("Shut up and eat your greens!") I feel it is very healthy. I noticed that I don't suddenly get hungry, and that I don't crash after eating. Hunger comes on slowly and after I am full, I don't want to keep eating. It's easier to get the weight off. I do have a chronic illness, unfortunately it doesn't seem to make any difference with that issue. But I'm very happy with the other results.
We are all different and we can adapt the diet to what is best for us. Vegetables do not like me. I was never a veggie fan, learned to like my veggies, then realized that my body doesn't like them, especially raw.
Teresa ten Pas raw veggies can be hard to digest... hopefully there's a few kinds of vegetables you can eat if they're cooked properly. But everybody's different and I understand that.
I used to be 90+ kg, (and I have a belt to show it) then implementing Ketosis I NOW ping pong seemingly perpetually between 70 and 75kg so all I can say is 1st get yourself into Ketosis and THEN fasting is just so easy you get TOTAL CONTROL over your weight along with so many health improvements added to it. Thank you KEN!!!
Things I've acquired just after getting into ketosis for 3 months: 1 - Come off the metformin "drug", which pharmaceutical industry is absolutely going to be upset about. 2 - Build the sharpest abs after years of trying to eating Nutella with a banana on top, which sugar-oil food industry is absolutely going to be upset about. 3 - Lost belly fat after years of trying to with that banana even though workout sessions are now shorter in time by half! 4 - Everyday full satiety & energy are two things I'm going to be ketogenic for despite not having the threes above.
ok Doc.. 1. blood pressure normal ! 2. I was exhausted for years, with adrenal fatigue -aging process is slowing down. 3. limiting my pain meds, my RA in my knees is 100% better - weak knees and falling all the time - was on walker 3 months ago.. trying to walk thru walmart without a buggy ride. 4. my fibro is getting manageable - WAY less flareups - magnesium at night sure helps my sleep pattern. 5. off my anti-depression meds (still have marriage anxiety LOL)and the anti depression was supposed to help with fibro but I want to be pill free 6. NO TUMS - from a container a week to none 7. fatty liver - have no comment - no pot belly like lots of women have but I have a panniculus below my belly button 8. wishing hubs testosterone would increase.. but being T2 for 40 yr might take a while.. he is 70- 9. he is off his insulin and eating OMAD diet, lots of energy and sometimes we are on sleep FAST as well as food FAST 10. no acne- we are old LOL 11. sheesh weight loss- so very slow at 68- but we are NOT hungry, have lots of energy (not in our Texas heat) and looking forward to our first vacation in years... love you Doc
Hello Dr. Berry. I want to thank you for your work in explaining all the benefits of the Keto way of healthy living. I have an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing spondylitis, was diagnosed 8 yrs ago and have been in tremendous pain with inflammation, lack of joint mobility, hunched neck etc. After eating this way for 2 weeks my mobility is coming back to the point I'm doing some simple exercises now and can almost touch my feet again! I believe my inflammation is far less than it used to be. I can't believe this is really happening. I honestly thought there was no hope. Thank you so much, PS I'm a 58 yr old male in Canada. Keep up the great work Sir. :)
Yesterday my Blood pressure was 224/113.... today it is 202/105..... Needless to say I am a bit concerned... not feeling too well so I am starting a water fast today.... after my fast... when my Blood pressure is down to normal I will start on the Keto diet... I really want to get well...
Personally, I have been doing pretty strict Keto for 3-1/2 months and I've lost 14 lbs, but it is far from melting off. I'm 80 y/o and because of serious heart issues cannot exercise, so maybe that is why. I'm grateful for Keto, though, I feel it is helping me in many ways.
Ive been doing keto very strictly for the past 2 months and sadly I'm only down 10 pounds. I also have Hashimotos so I'm thinking that could be why. I think the more weight you have to lose the better keto works.
Ms Gloria, you've got a couple of obstacles here. One, not only are you female and, consequently have a lower basal metabolic rate (BMR) than males, but at your age you have even less muscle mass than a female half your age, thus reducing your BMR even further! This will result in a much slower loss of fat especially without exertion as your body's calorie requirements are low for day to day functioning. But, hang in there, keto is for much more than weight loss.
The power of this message and the current epidemic of obesity in America is so huge. This message should be on every channel between every commercial 24/7 365.
In my first month of Keto-Saurus, with visible results. Thinking about my Grandmother who died 13 years ago...at 105. Sharp as a tack until the last two weeks, still washed her clothes and hung them out on a line. NEVER ate anything that "didn't grow in a garden" so no rice, pasta, biscuits, bagels. NEVER baked pies or cookies (she'd say, "go out to the garden and get your cookies...so, didn't find any, did ya?) ALWAYS started her day with a pat of butter and some cream in her coffee, one cup. We always teased her about that. Cows, pigs, chickens ("How come you kids aren't eating those chicken skins?" she'd always ask) on her plate every day. She didn't know about the Keto diet, --just the turn-of-last-century farm diet. These are very helpful vids for the rest of us!
Thank you Dr.Berry Since I've been in keto lifestyle I've noticed & my friends that I have a "glow" I'm so amazed coz I've tried different products for my face & nothing really worked. & so far I'm 17lbs lighter in 3 weeks I've been in keto..
This is always been in me but I didn't know what it was you help bridge that Gap and refined everything for me thank you so much for being there brother and God bless
I just had an interesting encounter. I was roasting bones with marrow for some broth and I let the dog out back. My neighbor ( who grills all the time and smokes meats, etc.) asked me what I was cooking and how I was cooking it. He said he was salivating as soon as he came outside. We really are designed to eat this food. :-)
I'm a 65-year-old fat grandma (5'4", 275 lbs) whose standing joke is "I fought my weight my whole life...it finally won!" How sad! I have a "file of diets" that have all failed. When my husband (who refused to listen to my warnings) was recently diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic, we both started the Ketogenic diet. Even though I'm not really dropping pounds, the fat is disappearing at an amazing rate. Your informative videos have been a tremendous benefit and an excellent resource. So here's my question - how long should I expect to be on the Ketogenic diet (2 weeks in, I'm 80% Keto) before I can stop taking my Amlodipine and Prilosec? Your prompt response is greatly appreciated!"
I don't know if this is something you've seen in your clinic, but I have been able to stop taking daily antihistamines. I have also been able to stop going to the allergist every other week for allergy shots since starting keto.
Anne Odell i was just telling my husband this today. I haven't had to take any allergy pills in a few weeks and I didn't even notice until today that I really haven't had much sinus issues without. Usually I would be so stuffed up with sinus headaches and such.
Yes, me too! Before keto, I would get hives and unexplained rashes and skin irritation from just about anything. And, I was usually stuffed up every morning until I took some Zyrtec. I went to see an allergist at least every other week for EIGHT years. I stopped taking the daily Zyrtec first and then stopped going to the allergist. She sent me a final bill of $500 for the last vial of shots; they had prepped a new vial and then I stopped going. I gladly paid it. I almost included a note in there about keto. :) 12. No more allergy treatments 13. Save money!
Thank you soooo much for this valuable info Dr. Berry!! My fiancé and I are the key candidates of pretty much all of those metabolic conditions you’ve presented. We will definitely “go back to basics”. I KNEW that butter was wayyy better than margarine, because it simply tastes better, lol. Thanks again and take care👍🥰🇨🇦 P.S…this plus the previous video are on my Facebook page ☺️
I was eating Eskimo food while watching this. My eskimo food was dried whale meat with seal fat. I just love that I can stay on ketosis while eating my eskimo food. I can't do that on Danish food which which always contains potatoes or rye bread. So I'm glad that I'm half eskimo 😂
Dr, Barry I can certainly witness to the reduced pain... my right knee is bone on bone... and it wasn't painful for a long time but when it started.. constant...now much better.. trying to halve the ansids... I've been trying to practice keto for about 5 months.. ended up in the hospital once... shortness of breath.. thought it was congestive heart failure .. but saturation was normal.. even tho I had an episode right in the ER.. Glucose was 61 when I checked in dropped down to 43 while I was there felt fine.. and for some reason the breathing problem disappeared.. fully disclosed what I was doing to the doctors... tbh.. idk seems like they didn't know what to do with me.. next day... 14000 dollars later they sent me home.. told me to exercise.. (when I can hardly walk) thanks doc.. ... but I went home.. regrouped and started again.. less intense... keto rash.. psoriasis persisted (wanted to jump out of my skin) for a month then subsided.. ... about a month now that symptoms almost disappeard.. I think it was just a lot of crap coming out of my system because I haven't been eating much but vegetables (with fat) and fatty meats... haven't lost much weight.. but personally I think I probably eat too much.. since I have NO experience... cooking or preparing for 1... and it's nearly impossible for me to throw away food.. so I eat it.. warming most of the stuff is not an option because it is distasteful and of course the consistency is awful second time around.. I really want to thank you for what you do here... I truly respect your word.. probably more than most here on TH-cam as you are an MD.. and I can see what your profession has to put up with.. Big pharma.. insurance companies.. control the AMA... and so are dictating what the doctors can say or prescribe.. you are a TRUE HERO sir.. there a few like you .. again THANK YOU !!
Thanks Dr Ken for all that you do! I wish you lived in Texas because my internist that thought “out of the box”was forced to retire. Also, I’m a nightshift nurse and I like to listen to you (Neisha too) while I chart at 2am:)
i always have something ready to eat that works well for me if i don't want to cook i'll have a spoon of cream cheese a spoon of peanut butter a handfull of olives grab a chunk of cheese and a can of sardines in water and put hot sauce on them and that might be all i eat in a day because i'm not hungry enough to cook
Thank you for mentioning weight gain on Keto. I am underweight and recently DX with Celiac Disease and type 2 diabetes. I immediately started Keto with the belief my body would adjust into a better weight. You just confirmed this idea. Hardly anything about Keto and underweight problems has been available in my research. I think there might be more than just me with this problem.
God Bless you Dr. Berry! I'm so very happy to have found this. I've got 100 or more pounds to lose. Been on the Ketogenic diet for 5 days now and it's the best thing ever! (Ketoerade does help btw.) I'm hoping to get my entire family on this program, they suffer from everything you've talked about. Once they see my results, they'll have to believe it. Thank You!
Dr. Berry.....God bless you for taking time to do these videos. My husband 's diabetes is normal for the 1st time. I have trigeminal neuralgia ( one of the worst pains known to mankind)) plus I have atypical Trigeminal neurlagia. (TN2) I feel different with my face pain..........then my husband has lost 10 pounds and I have lost 19 pounds in just 3 wks. With my neurotin, I didn't think I would ever loose weight. THANKS!!!!
Congratulations!!
Keto has changed my life, I’m down 150lbs and have kept if off a year now
ShadowHawk05 congrats! So proud for you.🎉
Judy Rowland thank you, it’s been a journey. I need to tighten up my macros and lose like 40 more. With Keto though the weight just melted off.
ShadowHawko5, congrats that is so cool for you and your health.
Inflammation gone, no arthritis pain anymore, IBS is gone, head shakes/tremors gone.
Love your vids thanks so much.
Awesome! Share this with the world!!!
@@TheOriginalRadGrrl I have the same ibs can you help me how much carbs you eat a day ?
I am 72, 5´2”, and on keto and IF lost 80 lbs. (200->120) and got off ALL meds: simvastatin, naproxin, tums, atenolol (bp), glipizide (T2 diabetes), coumadin. Frame of mind 100% better!!!!!!!! ❤️👍🙏
Been keto since 2012. I wish more doctors thought like you doctor Berry.
I have been Keto for 3 months and have experienced the following:
-Lost 23 pounds in 3 months
-Adult acne is gone, it was a constant problem prior
-Reduced general inflammation (I can wear jewelry (rings) I have not been able to wear in years.
- Reduction in asmtha symptoms, I no longer need my rescue inhaler and use my maintenance inhaler less
-Wear smaller clothing sizes
- Reduction in appetite and no more sugar cravings
- Discipline to remain keto has improved and is very strong at this point.
This is a way of life for me from now on. I have regained control and feel elated!
any update? still going strong ?
Loved ur post, just saying that today
Wearing smaller clothes, anaz🎉😮
Thank you Dr. Ken Berry. I have been killing myself with the WRONG 😑 FOODS. I’m a type 2 Diabetic I have been for over 30 years. My daughter introduced me to the Ketogenic lifestyle. I’m on my way to better health.
11 weeks and 47.5 lbs down, my inflammation from a nuero disorder is gone. Every time I go somewhere to visit, I get ambushed into explaining what I am doing and to help them get started. First place I send them to is your channel. Thoughtful and insightful.
The ketogenic lifestyle has changed my life. I’m not on a diet. I am living a greater life then I thought possible.
1. Lowers blood pressure
2. Slow aging process
3. Improves joint pain and inflammation
4. Decreases the frequency of auto immune diseases or decreases the severity if you have one
5. Improves mood
6. Improves heartburn/GERD
7. Cures fatty liver/pancreas disease
8. Optimizes hormones
9. Controls appetite
10. Improves acne
11. Weight loss
12. Can and does cure or reverse almost all types of cancer if carbs stay very low, almost zero, consistently, it can take weeks or months to get optimal results depending on type of cancer or it's stage
13. Can cure heart disease by reversing atherslerosis, less infammation of the arteries from less sugar ingested
14. Can prevent strokes
15.Can improve adrenal/thyroid issues because of decrease in inflammatory response to sugar
16. A 100% cure for type 2 diabetes, no sugar/carbs, no spikes in insulin, hyperinsulemia insulin levels drop, blood sugar levels drop, causing less insulin resistance and regeneration of pancreatic beta cells
17. #12-#16 are my opinions.
MrJoeyBoombotz if type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease will keto reverse that condition too?
Anthony Crosby no... it will not unfortunately...
@@anthonycrosby8050 keto can make managing type 1 much easier
@@anthonycrosby8050 No, but there is some andectodal evidence, I have heard dr. Paul Saladino in one video (I think was interview with 2 frutarians) that pure carnivore could prevent at very start if just started. But much more research is needed. Carnivore can reverse many thing (and usually is ketogenic by nature). Once pancreas is gone to far I guess nothing to do.
But keto/carnivore are great tools to help with management of type 1 as well as they prevent blood sugar roller coaster.
I'm glad u admitted #12 was YOUR opinion.
Down 142lbs, 14lbs to go in a year.
Down 157lbs
So far lost 30lbs in 2 months, no more arthritis/fibromyalgia joint pain, autoimmune better, weaning off Lexapro, IBS gone, no more fluid retention from my chronic congestive heart failure!!! Still on my hypertension meds as the diet really hasn’t brought my bp down yet! Oh... my fine lines on my face are better even though I’ve lost weight!
it's changed my life I went from 600 lb to 385 and I've lost 14 inches off my waist
Perry Roach II How fantastic!!! Congrats! I am 298 and pray this diet will work for me and feel very inspired by your success. God Bless!
Great job
Holly shit! Fantastic!!!
Perry Roach II.... You touched me with your comment... I am very happy for you... keep going and know that people who don't know you are thinking about your success and understand the difficulty it is to do this... I wish you all the very best. I am struggling myself with obesity and uncontrollable food cravings.
Right on, way to go!
You can tell an honest man when he isn’t trying to sell you something thank you x
I can vouch for the mood, skin, heartburn, high blood pressure and knee issue points. I noticed also, that I cut my anxiety by about 90%.
Thanks doc!
I have (had) hypertension and had to take a drug. On Keto, my blood pressure averages 115/68. No more high BP! 👍🏼
Judi Dunham now lo g were you on before it dropped
The ketogenic way of eating will give you life-long health benefits...
KenDBerryMD also waiting on that KetoBrick review. Want to know if y’all like it.
KenDBerryMD I’ve left several comments here on TH-cam please advise why this isn’t for everybody ?
You have the same name as my mom, I know random, but cool.
You have got to be one of the best doctor's for sharing the most accurate information. Thank you
Keto for 9 mos. SO happy with my health!
hey how are you now ?
All I can say is that he is a great Dr.... thankyou so much
I didn't start this to lose weight but it's a big plus. I started this WOE to get off my diabetic meds.
And has that happened for you?
Down one pill soon will be two.
Kelly Moore What did you eat at OG?
Kelly Moore what did you eat at Olive Garden? We never get to go out to eat because of my woe.

LoveIsHope I'm confused. Why did you resume taking your bp meds after great results on keto diet? Were you forced by your Drs?
I would definitely wait till fully keto adapted. After 4 mo. I was able to eat a bowl of Pho and had no adverse affect on glucose. Almost like it went straight thru with no absorption. And that was almost 150g of carbs. Wonder if rice digests differently?
So I'm confused. Did your day off turn into a month off keto?
I was able to jump back in rather quickly while my wife’s glucose was jacked for a week. Some are more insulin sensitive I guess!
Yay!
Joint pain gone, aniexty gone, depression gone. Amazing
Sorry for the long comment but you’ve helped me change my life - thank you!
why you stopped the melatonin? I take melatonin - is a anti aging hormon and not a sleeping pill - since 21 years and look 10 years younger
No need t feel sorry ur delightful in sharing ur story.
That's what is going t help all of us
Yes, by sharing n caring🎉😮
Speaking on joint pain... I’m 50 with the knees of an 80yr old. An 80yr old with bad knees. I went to surgeon to schedule knee replacement. He said at my weight, surgery would be too dangerous. He didn’t know about Keto, but just said lose weight. Do gastric bypass if I need to. Wow. Wake up call. Now down 85lb with 50ish to go. Knees feel so much better. Someday they still may need replaced, but I’m sure putting that off and feeling great doing it.
I love all of the benefits you mentioned in addition to sleeping through the night and having a lower resting heart rate. Great video. Thanks!
I love your bright ideas!
Great presentation. Have been on Keto for two months with intermittent fasting and have lost 14 pounds and feel great. Thanks for the info Doctor !
Simple, honest, direct. No waste of time. I love his videos.
I can’t believe it- I’ve had blackheads on my nose 4ever. Now their gone!
As if loosing weight & better mood wasn’t enough on Keto & IM 🌞
any update ? still on the diet ?
I got my doctor to start doing keto he's really happy about it he liked information and I told him about you
This is my first day on this keto diet with pre-diabetic for long time.
Thank you Dr berry i was 249 now 201 !!!!
One of the best doctors 👍👍
I have a ketogenic diet that includes lots of non-starchy vegetables. ("Shut up and eat your greens!") I feel it is very healthy. I noticed that I don't suddenly get hungry, and that I don't crash after eating. Hunger comes on slowly and after I am full, I don't want to keep eating. It's easier to get the weight off. I do have a chronic illness, unfortunately it doesn't seem to make any difference with that issue. But I'm very happy with the other results.
Francesca S ........and "cabbage is the food of the Lord"!!!!!!😄😄
Things I've acquired just after getting into ketosis for 3 months:
1 - Come off the metformin "drug", which pharmaceutical industry is absolutely going to be upset about.
Are you also fasting?
I eat breakfast (or I should say brunch) at about 11am or later and dinner at about 7pm. I think that is called intermittent fasting.
I’m finally off of all diabetic medications! My blood sugars are fantastic!
Thank you Dr Berry
I have shared this to many of my friends that don’t seem to understand the Keto Diet. And don’t believe it can be so beneficial 👍🏻
Thank you Dr.Berry
Since I've been in keto lifestyle I've noticed & my friends that I have a "glow" I'm so amazed coz I've tried different products for my face & nothing really worked.
& so far I'm 17lbs lighter in 3 weeks I've been in keto..
I learn so much watching your videos. Thank you so much.
Dr. Ken Berry saved
My life 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊
What about apple cider vinegar for type 2 diabetics will it hurt you or is it good for you and what about lemon water
Yes it stopped the heart burn so fast and many other things
Totally agree with all you say here!
Save money!
Anne Odell That is great! I am slowly starting to see so many things improve! Good luck to you! 😊
I’m not doing keto and I don’t take allergy pills anymore either
@@mrs.l6084 whats your point
Thank you soooo much for this valuable info Dr. Berry!! My fiancé and I are the key candidates of pretty much all of those metabolic conditions you’ve presented. We will definitely “go back to basics”. I KNEW that butter was wayyy better than margarine, because it simply tastes better, lol. Thanks again and take care👍🥰🇨🇦 P.S…this plus the previous video are on my Facebook page ☺️
great video, Lots a good info on here
I was eating Eskimo food while watching this. My eskimo food was dried whale meat with seal fat. I just love that I can stay on ketosis while eating my eskimo food. I can't do that on Danish food which which always contains potatoes or rye bread. So I'm glad that I'm half eskimo 😂
thank you for being so opened minded lots of doctors out there don't look outside the box.
I absolutely LOVE your videos Dr Berry. You put things so simple and easy to understand... Thank you sir.
Amazing stuff. It's great to see all these success stories too. Very inspiring! Thanks for the great info, as always
I notice less back pain just 1 month in. I appreciate this video. Thank you for putting it together
Thanks Dr Ken for all that you do! I wish you lived in Texas because my internist that thought “out of the box”was forced to retire.
Also, I’m a nightshift nurse and I like to listen to you (Neisha too) while I chart at 2am:)
Ty for sharing and God bless 🙌
Thank YOU Dr Berry!!!!!
Please dr cold you make a video on resistant starch foods 😎

Blessings
Good stuff, Doc! You are an inspiration! Making huge difference to lots of people. Thanks!
I love the way you express yourself!
Thank you so much i chose my diet 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️
Thanks Dr. Berry, I shared this video on Facebook
i always have something ready to eat that works well for me
if i don't want to cook i'll have a spoon of cream cheese a spoon of peanut butter a handfull of olives grab a chunk of cheese
and a can of sardines in water and put hot sauce on them and that might be all i eat in a day
because i'm not hungry enough to cook
My heartburn went completely away! How does that happen? Love your videos! Thank you.
I had hand pain consistently before I started Keto... I have no pain at all after a week on Keto. I’m sleeping better than I’ve slept in years too.
Keto is amazing. Do it!!
I'm about two and a half weeks into keto and my knee pain is almost gone
You've been a wealth of good information. I'm new to the diet, and I've lost 14 lbs. in 3 weeks so far.
yet another great video, good summary without being too technical :)
Thank You!
Hi Mike! I just started two weeks ago - closer to carnivore than keto. My target is 100 pounds so I just wanted to ask how you were doing.
THANKS!!!!
