Using public charging infrastructure for your daily commute is a significant waste of money. If you have access to a charging option at home, go ahead and purchase an electric vehicle. Never been a fan of EV. The govt seems to be hell bent on dumping EVs on the public. However hybrids are the way to go. Auto makers must invest time and brains in making petrol / diesel vehicles more efficient. Also govt must seriously look at biofuels (both petrol & diesel) which was a very seriously contested topic few years ago prior to the EV craze....
Hybrids are the crappy tech whch failed everywhere in the world and is now being dumped in India by a clueless Toyota which has no EV on anvil for India. Please buy a hybrid. You will regret it. You end up maintaining both battery and engine and a pay 4 to 5 lakhs extra for 3/4 kpl extra. Do the math how long it takes to recover. And also EV will leave it in the dust in acceleration.

Any perol car sold after 8 years will get about 2 to 3 lakh if i sell n ev about 1 to 2 .. loss of 1 lakh against gain of 7 lakh in petrol cost after 7 to 8 years... Why shouldn't u buy an ev.... maintenance is again a save of 1 to 1.5 lakh in 7 years.... Driveability of ev ie. instant power and regen braking are the best things no ICE car can match. Mine is 90% city use and charge at office, so i actually like the fact i dont have to change my route, wait in long ques, pay bill for petrol. I drive a Tiago EV LR.
Informative video cover aspects of owning EV which are generally not discussed.
Completely agree with drive pleasure of EV which any ICE car owner can't understand.
But you need to do analysis of statement mentioning km require to cover upfront cost. Please dont compare ex showroom cost. On road price of same model has hardly 15% difference in cost which can be covered in a year.
Considering making the switch to electric? The Toyota bz4X is a great option! Not only is it environmentally friendly and efficient, but it's also a reliable and safe choice. Plus, say goodbye to fuel bills!
I have a Nexon EV. Always charge it at 10-12% battery.
Excellent review . Thank you.
@v3Cars - Please make a video series to specifically review the DelhiNCR (witin city charging stations) and highway runs to & fro from nearby travel destinations.
It’s important to shine some light over the charging infrastructure’s current plight. 🙏🏽😐
Great video. Was very informative.
With current ev infra........a family need to have an ICE car as a main car....and ev for office and city use......
EV is a good alternative......but i feel sales mix will be ard 30% max in the next 5 yrs...
95 % of ev private cars owners charge there evs at home
The best option is Hybrid Car for price if 50 lake, one can use battery power for travel in city and IC engine power for long drive to rural areas
Can you please make video on comparison of Engines of different brands (as per their segments) and make a conclusion that which one is better? (e.g. between TATA, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, etc - B1 segment cars). Also include their life expectancy like wear & tear, noise, etc.
Bring a comparison between lower variants of Sonet Htk+ and XUV 3xO Ax5.
As it will help middle class buyers. These variants have almost all practical features and it clicks all check boxes.
I think you will surely bring this most awaited comparison.
thanks a lot for the video
I own Tata Nexon Prime EV. Driven 56000. Battery changed once( free of cost ). No problem.
But what are the advantages of buying a 50 lac EV .
Is it space
Is it comfort
Is it range
Also any disadvantages?
WELL I HAVE 2 CARS AT HOME 1 NANO EV AND 2ND HONDA JAZZ MOST OF USE EV IN CITY ITS EASY TO DRIVE AND NOW MY KNEE PAIN HAS GONE DU TO DRIVE OF EV NO NEED TO CLUTCH AND NO NEED TO BREAK AS WELL. EVEN ITS DRIVE UPTO 6MKPH ON TRAFFIC AUTOMATICALLY. EV IS BEST FOR CITY BUT NOT FOR LONG RANGE DRIVE
Buy XUV700 and run it for 1 lakh kms yet it will be cheaper than exshowroom price of Ioniq 5
As an ev owner, agree on the things you said. Performance is next level like a space ship.
What is the battery cost and just imagine about battery replacement or ekectric motor cost until everything rins no problem.. but when it stop working headache starts...after 10years what will be the resale value because 2nd owner will say battery hogaya bai ...😢😢
I have a Tiago LR ..Generally start getting nervous when the range drops down below 50kms
How come you are driving a SriPerumpudur TN87 Registered car in Delhi? Did Hyundai give you a test drive car for this video? Distance between Sriperumpudur and Delhi is 2317Km
Mostly people buying cars unnecessarily. use public transport bcoz heavy traffic jams in future is a big problem.
Go hybrid. Ev Market is still 5 years away atleast
Hybrid min chaalu hoti hai 21.5 lakhs se
Hybrid is ok, but power is missing.
Recently I had to do 950km highway drive with my petrol car. I planned the tour with ev in mind and Immediately realised ev infra was non existent I would have completely stranded on highway somewhere. Even with ev infra I would have saved just Rs.4/km. So deciding towards using petrol car for few more years. No ev for me. My petrol car gives 19 to 20 kmpl with ac. No hassle so far
You should also think about oil mafia, dirty pollution from tail pipe... Anyway pertrol is disgusting never for me... Ev only for me , now and forever. Tesla can go to hell, there are byds, Hyundai, kias, tata too etc.
As if electricity is a clean fuel in India. Go learn your basics dude. There is mostly thermal electricity in India and that is more polluting than petrol effectively after adding the transmission losses
@@Reddylion Ever heard about EV pollution and their mafias in Africa. If not start researching.
@@a--b ever heard about oil mafia..... Middle East monopoly nonsense... if not high time , not just you, people like you need it.... the amount of diesel to transport the crude..... disgusting..... this is just the beginning, the amount of electricity used to distill, filter that crude to, petrol, diesel, kerosin etc... battery mining , pollution is not 10 % of this petrol etc crap.
Go to school. You need education @@gavin0811
I’ve read an average EV car’s power consumption is around 7.5 kw for home charging. That’s equivalent to running 5 1.5 ton ACs simultaneously 😮 And changing the battery pack costs almost 1/2 as much the car itself.

@@laypyu Yes. Tur ki hoise?

add a charger at your home ??
Running cost per km is including maintenence cost and parts cost also??
Excellent 👌👍
If you are so concerned about low running cost than why you have always used the commercial and expensive DC fast charging option every time ?
Is it true that we should not keep using a fast charger and once in a while have to do a home slow charging. Please advice as I don’t have a home charger in my rented appt. Thanks
I have Nexon ev max
We usually charge our car when it reaches 30% which is 100 km range
very sensible point.. EV is not ready for being a primary car yet.. maybe for city drives, short drives, market drives etc..
One more point.. for those people with a sufficiently large solar plant at home EV cars are awesome addition
What after warranty how much is battery cost?
Car looks Beautiful
Could you share if you have driven in it more than 400-500 km. And if when
My nexon max giving max range of 180-220 since date of purchase ,its pure waste of money but nothing can be done once you are done purchasing no option of resale ,tough its my 3 rd car in garage,i ve instaled a solar 5 kv for 3 lakhs n made it more sensible but the drive comfort ,silence, instant torque makes it an add on in the garage..............
सर जी नमस्ते 🙏,

It will take at least 10 more years in India to get a proper EV infrastructure.
EV can be used only for city drives as secondary car.
Low running cost at the price of 50000 PM or more than that of EMI ????????
Hybrid cars are the future for atleast 5-8 years from now…EV’s have really long way to go…
resale is a big question mark on electric cars - that's why i keep putting off these amazing vehicles.
Well narrated
Electric car is much more than just saving fuel. I have an electric car trust me the driving pleasure is any day much better. EV has spoiled me and I love driving it.
How much will be battery cost
Why can't you just charge at home "only", and use within city limits ! For me petrol cars are useless because of poor automatic performance/options, more fuel consumption, high petrol costs
Very true...EV is misleading and costliest concept.
Don't see any great future in India
lol. i will come back to this comment in 10 years.
I agree with your point.
My next car is EV because of its instant pick up, smooth drive, fuel cost, lower or nill service charges, and environment friendly
I have a tesla and the charging time sucks and I have to be restricted to go to particular place
Ev are for those who can flaunt there money and have home chargers , public charger is expensive
useful info bro
Any EV above 25L in India is an High end Luxury car and not for fuel saving purpose.
18-25L is a decent amount to spend on an EV, you break even the fuel savings by 5 years. Post that you will end up saving a lot on fuel itself.
It's one of the best evs out there!
I would love to buy it need one less than 20 lakhs , hopefully we wlll get Creta Ev
Ioniq is the best EV you can get atm. They are the best hands down. Koreans dont play when it comes to electronics.
Bought Dark Nexon ev 18 months back, done 23k kms, pay 2.5k pm for charging, avg cost 2rs per km, cost of car 16 lakh for ev, same in petrol for 14.5 lakh, for petrol wud have paid 2.40 lakh for 23k km at avg of 10 km per litre, mumbai rate is 106 per litre, paid for ev charge total 45k.
So already in gain of about 40k over and above of paying extra for ev. Next 6 years with avg of 15k km running per year, will save about 1.20lakh per year with avg petrol cost at 106 PL. That's about 7 lakh avg will save... Now a days u get Tiago around 10 lakh n it's phenomenal as compared to price n savings, will surely recommend an ev for long term savings and super drive feeling.... Go EV.....
Well said. Super analysis..
Electric car makers are following apple as they usually say at the time of launch this iPhone has a biggest ever battery and can go upto 24 hours easily but after every 6 hours we have to get it charged 😢
The key to use EV is to never let it drop below 20% charge
Why is that?
@@laypyuit maintains battery health
Ev only makes sense if u use it for daily commutes and that too if it is more than 50km and i like tiago ev in that regards
1000 ki charging karke half charge mila to main petrol car na chlau?
I don’t agree with you. Full electric cars are poor choice as vehicle for daily commute.
The best option is Strong hybrid car. Till just 3 years ago there o was only one option available - and that too was in luxury segment - Toyota Camry hybrid. However as on today the scenario has changed completely and there are several options available in all price segments.
They have several unbeatable advantages over EVs.
Why u charge outside daily u can charge at home
Car acchi hai Jagdev ji, par har kisi ke pass 50 lakh nhi hote.
Buying a 50 L car and crying for petrol isn't ironic?
Why cant u buy 15L car and use the interest of 35L to fuel ur car?
Test drive ur ionic on expressway @120kmph and let us know the range it is giving. Just bcoz 2 save money i can't drive @80kmph .
I like to drive @120 kmph and above on expressway
You are absolutely right bro ... nobody should buy EVs it destroys one's peace of mind
Rather than driving ionic 5 for so long you could have tested the same with a car like tata punch.ev which would have been lot more helpful
there video on just search electric Vs petrol costing over 5 yrs well he has explained everything thing on excel well internal combustion engines are king every thing is been calculated evs proved to expensive.
Awesome.
If you want peace of mind do not buy electric cars . It’s just for Sunday market shopping
I rather get bit by dogs every Tuesday than spend another day trying to find an EV charger that works and waiting a week to charge the car because either there's a line or for some reason a 50kw charger is outputting only 7.
But why Tuesday 😅
