Just started collecting cards because of 151. Enjoyed this video even though this may not apply to the market in my country - but very informative and definitely interesting nonetheless. Maybe some day!
Really blessing us with the awesome info Steve, it's crazy how I just recently realized I can leverage my PSA returns and then this video comes out lol, definitely cleared up some things I was not sure about.
Definitely, been selling for 2 years now. Started with importing anime goods from JP now transitioned over to trading cards and it's a slow grind started TCG with singles now I also offer graded cards. Your videos are great for every level of seller, always something new to learn!@@PokemonSteven
Loved this video, thanks for all the info. I'm new to selling Pokemon cards on eBay (also from Australia) and always looking for new ideas to branch out on what I'm currently doing
Steve, top video mate. Really valuable, especially the stuff at the end. I've always submitted through a middleman because of the shipping fees which makes it so I pay up front which throws off the leverage stuff. Next year, I'm definitely gonna get a PSA membership
Use all the leverage I can get access to, got it. I have been contemplating making a video about cashflow and rewards credit cards to smooth it (and the bit of leverage you can use from time to time).
Massive video Steve! I have recently started going through my card collections. Selling the cards which I believe have no chance on at least breaking even as raw. Chose 15 of the nice ones and sent to PSA. I am in EU and it was 23€ per card inc grading shipping and vat. Waiting for them to come back but since its my first time not expecting huge results. Your videos motivated me to start ❤ Btw did you ever use TCG fish for PSA price checking?
No i don't use TCG fish, but it looks pretty good. I should have done a better job explaining international fees and stuff for grading, but its very hard to do so since everyone lives in different countries, i cant do breakdowns for every single country. For me in australia it's almost 20usd per card at the moment aswell, after shipping/vat too :( Thanks for the kind comment.
2nd :D Love your vids steve, watch them all - quick question, I saw a product recently that is a bulk card scanner that has an associated AI listing creation program - have you thought about using something like this for your singles store? I think the cost is expensive but they boast the ability to list like 10,000 cards a day.
The product/related scanners I was looking at were by a company called Card Dealer Pro@@DanGString - based on my research I think there are 3 companies with a similar offering.
Oh ok, thanks for replying, It's good to know you use the Fujitsu 8170. The software I was looking at was Card Dealer Pro - They are sports card-based but I saw Pokemon card scanning in some of their advertising material? I'm contacting their support for a trial so I'll let you know how it goes! @@PokemonSteven
thanks steve, but 1 question what do u do with the raw cards u bought for like a premium (like 30% of your invest money) and u think it will get a probably get a 9 (break even). and u can't really sell ik easy back for the invested money raw (like u lose a 25% of the 30%) invested money. Do u wait the 3 months as a beginner for a still risky psa return or do u take the loss en try to buy something else te send?
I think the question is too dependant on which cards, some cards sell fine in psa 9, some cards don't. If you don't think it will get a high grade its usually best to try and sell it raw ASAP and buy more stuff =]
Could you do like a live session of finding cards on ebay and going through your thought process with it? I know it's a lot to ask but it would help with a lot of questions that I have!
How much did you have to invest into this initially for this to be something profitable? I know half-adding this isn’t something that would work out well, so I want to really consider all the financial aspects of this. Great video Steve!
Great information. While psa is taking so long for subs to come back have you ever thought about sending to cgc for shorter turnarounds and lesser costs or do u see the decrease in value in such slabs too much of a risk?
I did do that for a while, but i usually don't care how long it takes me to get cards back, since once you get to a point of having a "revolving wheel", you will always get some back each month.
Appreciate these videos, as an Australian I was originally drawn to your videos because it was easy to follow your pricing and strategy for everything. I know you’re now catering to a larger audience for more viewer coverage, but I do miss the Aud pricing as not many Australians are on TH-cam doing what you’re doing. Keep up the great content!
I put the prices in USD for the video, because PSA charges in USD, if i put them in AUD.. then the currency fluctuates, it won't be accurate. I appreciate the comment but I am not doing anything for more viewer coverage.
@@PokemonSteven I appreciate the reply, just something I’ve started noticing and just assumed that was the case which is my bad. So many Pokémon channels are based overseas so it was great to finally find someone in Australia with a good personality.
@steezybdos3732 I understand where you are coming from. But I deal in AUD, USD and YEN. I'm constantly swapping between them. If i can put our near one hour long videos free of charge, I feel like you can take a few seconds to convert the currency on your own time haha!
What is your tax situation like? After all, if you buy something from a private person, you cannot enter it as an expense to the your company. In turn, if you send this card to PSA and then sell it through the your company, you have to pay tax on it. So the sale must be higher than the cost of the card + grading service + sales tax.
So to confirm, do you want one that has a high pop 10 rate for easier grading? What % is considered high and what is considered low relative to other cards in general?
30 mins in finally hes talking about the stuff that will put him in jail. this is the exciting stuff i wonder if psa will send subs to the warden or directly to ur cell??
Jeez… 20x17… $340 minimum just to get bulk pricing to grade cards? God … that’s an awful big investment…. And that’s not for expensive cards? Jeez… I’ve been thinking about sending some cards in…. In fact I just bought one of those grading kits for like $17 off Amazon…
Quick question off the back of this, Ive been hunting cards for my PC and have been winning some cards at bid for 20$ or less, how are people making money off this ?
12:55 MORE PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS. Just because it’s low pop does not mean it’s hard to grade. I’m a niche collector focussing on one evo line, and several cards I’m looking for either have a pop of 1-3 or 0. Because of this, sellers will pop up and list the card for 200$ with big crazy titles like LOW POP RARE, HARD TO GRADE. It’s not hard to grade, it’s just that no one but me and a small handful of others are out here trying to collect every card of this specific Pokémon 😂 smh
Just unnecessary info for someone from the netherlands if u send everything by yourself our total grading costs are around 20 euro per card if u send bulk around 50 cards shipping to and returned back

i like to go to japan to find cards to see the conditions in person
Really great videos as always nice pokemon shop i like it.

Great video Steven! Could you give an inside about how to package cards that you send out to buyers?

What is your tax situation like? After all, if you buy something from a private person, you cannot enter it as an expense to the your company. In turn, if you send this card to PSA and then sell it through the your company, you have to pay tax on it.
So the sale must be higher than the cost of the card + grading service + sales tax.
you are correct. the sale price needs to be much higher to account for associated fees and taxes.
even break even Steven
I see a special box in the background… did the Japanese box already come out?
The box is the master battle collection
So to confirm, do you want one that has a high pop 10 rate for easier grading? What % is considered high and what is considered low relative to other cards in general?
every card is different, probably best to study the cards you want to submit before sending in
You don't use TCG as a place to check value of cards?
