A bunch of my older cards have definitely been through quite the adventure, and they deserve to last. Good job! :)
Tough break on some of the grades. Here's an important tip. Look at the front of the card first. If the left or right side is noticeably fatter than the other side, it likely won't grade a 10. I noticed most of your 9's were heavy on the left or right. Also, those yellow bordered full arts are hard to grade 10 bc the surface is always filled with scratches.
I’m about to send my first shipment out and I’m very curious, are those all cards that you just opened from a pack and immediately sleeved, and wiped off before sending? Because I’m looking at my cards like I should be getting mostly 10’s and this just threw me off with most of them being 9 and some 8’s
@@bobson44444 most of them were from fresh packs sleeved right away! I did not wipe them before sending though. If you do so I’m sure it’ll definitely help 🙌

I had a friend tell me to grade my 1999 pokemom cards before selling them. I knew nothing about card grading so I went with the cheapest CGC. Now I looked at some stuff and Im a bit nervous about that choice.
The thing with PSA is that it’s the most known and the slabs are easier to move around. But for vintage I’d recommend going with Beckett they grade vintage better
I got about 15-20 base set holos from my childhood I want to get graded just for fun. Most of them Are probably psa 5-6, few are 8-9 range. Looking for a video that’ll describe the process of packaging them and shipping them out
I actually have a video on my channel on the process I don’t go too much in depth on packaging but a lot of valuable information! It’s one of the recent ones check it out!
If you just took them out of the store packet, and then sleeved them and sent them in, shouldn't they all be 10? Like never touched, not stored, brand spanking new...assuming they are centered and all that jazz. I don't understand some of the grading when it's a brand new card!!
Unfortunately not! Even some cards in packs still get banged up/not centered well. So it’s tough when you send them in you just have to see if the card looks good to the best of your ability and kinda hope for the best!!
Most would think this but unfortunately it’s just not true. Cards get banged around when being packed and also ppl can mess them up when opening them too.
There are a lot that can happen during production. If they move stacks of cardboard around to fill the printing machines, the top sheet will get the holo scratched even before printing for example. Cutting knives eventually get dull and need to be replaced, if you get a card that was cut just before the knives got changed you will get rougher edges then when the knives are fresh. The packages can be stored badly or handled badly before you buythem, damaging the edges. Those are just a couple of things that can happen to cards and degrade them before you even open the package.
All it takes is a little plastic cracking to get back to raw value lol. Kinda surprised the Snorlax hit a 10 looked like it was heavy on the left for centering.
if you do this for short term quick profit you need to be more aware of what you are sending. if you do this for fun who cares about values. cracking plastic will add more trash to the planet. might as well keep it in the slab as the future value of that slab will of corse increase. that is if you can get your cards through the impending ww3 without too much nuclear burns.
Just curious, what did you do to screen the cards before you sent it off? did you have your own criteria on deciding if a card was worth to send ? or did you just send it and hoped for the best?
I pretty much just eyed them to be honest. Mostly focus on the card being centered, front and back. Make sure there’s no scratches on the surface or whitening on the back.
Ive heard of that too! People resending and getting better grades. And you really dont know. You just have to protect the card the best you can on your end and be okay with taking the risk of sending it out.
So with what I’ve seen with vintage cards from base set and some in the 2000’s yes, because there seems to be less supply of those cards that are still around and kept in good conditions
if not, i highly recommend it, it's 10 bucks for the legend centering tool (my fav) and microfiber cloths are pennies but get a premium cloth for a little more
Did any of the foil cards have some warping? I'm worried if some old foil cards will be graded lower for the warping (and if so by how much). Also, didn't it cost more to get some of them graded than they were worth afterwards?
It depends on how warped the card is honestly. It costs about $20 to grade a card but you have to take into account if it gets a bad grade the card could have less value graded than Raw
Foil cards are the worst. For example, I looked at 25 dragon all cards. Only about 4 would probably grade a 10 and another 6 would maybe be a 9. The rest of the cards have lines and scratches on the gold foils or on the prizm or cracked ice areas.
Hey! So with PSA there’s no black labels. That would be with Beckett the black labels. So the black label means the card I perfect! 10 surface/corners/edges/centering.
@Poke_house wow!!!! And what was the total value of the cards?? Would be a good addition to the video, the cost it incurred, and the total value of the cards so we can see if it worth doing or not 😀
It usually would tend to be the same price or less. But it also depends on which card it is. For example I have a PSA 7 charizard worth $350 and that’s the same price as if it were raw

Yet agin you could say that about graded cards in a way Also you can shake the card in the psa and Cgc slabs Beckett on the other hand that’s some good protection
For Modern cards, even getting a 9 will make your cards cheaper than a near mint raw. Especially if you factor in the cost for grading.

Why raw!?
Raw is good
having the choice to put the the card in a binder or a top loader that takes less space than a graded card and still having that satisfied feeling with it sometimes even more
its just a preference of the hobby.
Yet agin you could say that about graded cards in a way
Also you can shake the card in the psa and Cgc slabs
Beckett on the other hand that’s some good protection
Lets go! is starting to get cringe after this video lol
