  • A perfect smile is considered to be one of the most attractive features a person can have. Unfortunately, there are many things that can harm your teeth, such as smoking, too much caffeine, and irregular dental care. These seemingly innocent daily habits can actually cause problems such as dental plaque.
    You may think: "Why would I waste my time on getting rid of the plaque on my teeth? It doesn't bother me." But, in fact, it's a must if you want your teeth to be healthy. The thing is the process of plaque removal will help you to prevent cavities that otherwise may damage your teeth.

    SUMMARY:
    - Baking soda is perfectly fit for prying tough tartar off of your enamel. It's a bit abrasive though, so don't overdo!
    - One more way to make your teeth shine is to add enough hydrogen peroxide to 1 teaspoon of baking soda to get a homogenous paste.
    - People have known about Aloe Vera health benefits for many years. However, its miraculous properties spread to the area of oral care as well. In particular, you can use it as a very powerful natural toothpaste.
    - After you eat an orange, don't throw away the peel! Rub it onto your teeth - it's an easy way to clean your teeth enamel.
    - Teeny-tiny sesame seeds can work as a pretty cool dental scrub. They will remove the plaque and even tartar gently and carefully, not damaging the teeth.
    - Mashing up fruits and veggies containing vitamin C is a quick and easy way to create a plaque-preventing paste mask for your teeth.
    - One of the ingredients in white vinegar is acetic acid. This acid prevents demineralization of the tooth enamel and the plaque accumulation.
    - People have been using ground cloves to relieve toothaches for many decades. But it has an ability to destroy microbes in the mouth as well. Yes, exactly those microbes that cause the plaque!
    - Rosemary essential oil will act as a disinfectant getting rid of the bacteria in your mouth. It prevents cavities and the buildup of the plaque and eliminates bad breath.
    - Eat more cheese. Cheese helps to produce alkaline saliva, and it, in turn, creates a layer of protection around the teeth and neutralizes plaque acid.

    Also helps to know when someone can use floss, and when it makes more sense to wait until the tooth overcrowding is relieved.
    Tooth overcrowding can result in someone losing all their teeth if it's not remedied.

    • @ericagomez9023
      @ericagomez9023 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is because crowding causes very hard to reach in-between areas that not accessible with regular teeth brushing. Thus, flossingivercrowded teeth at least 1x per day is so crucial...

    • @shatterthemirror8563
      @shatterthemirror8563 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericagomez9023 Right, although, I think if a young person has a lot of overcrowding they might need the little plastic picks with the floss fused in place. They're so much easier to use without the floss slipping through wet fingers or breaking. I used to try so hard I'd have grooves on my fingers where the floss has been and it would break at each tooth anyway.

    The question in the video about "have you ever heard of a dentist pulling healthy teeth?" YES, A dentist suggested pulling about 5 of my son's healthy teeth because of an abscessed gum. I immediately took my son to another dentist. The dentist that wanted to pull his teeth was very highly regarded. That experience encouraged me to do some investigating about so called dental practices like x-rays every time you sit it their chair, pulling wisdom teeth among other things. Finding an educated and honest dentist is almost impossible

      Yes I have heard of a dentist pulling perfectly healthy teeth. My husband's grandmother lived in the outback and when she had to get a filling cause of a bad cavity her husband told the dentist pull the lot we can't afford to come back every time there's a tooth ache, so poor girl (in her 20s) had all her teeth pulled out and got dentures. 😱 Hard to believe anyone could be so heartless.

      You're right. I have seen dentist impose unnecessary dental procedures in order to make money of their clients. Its sad that with today's technology and knowledge that a substance that would protect our teeth from cavities or other problems isn't on the market. I'm sure it exist but the dental industry would never allow people to have it.

    FYI there is a huge difference between plaque and tartar/calculus. EVERYONE can remove plaque. It's called brushing and flossing. Removing tartar/calculus is completely different. It is a hard calcification stuck to the teeth. Like barnacles on a boat. It has to be chipped off. Don't confuse plaque with tartar.

    These are all very interesting ways to prevent plaque and tartar, but you missed one that is very important and has proven to be extremely effective. Rinse your mouth with Coconut oil for at least 15 mins, once a day. Many people I know, including myself have been doing this and haven't had a cavity or plaque build up in years. FYI - don't spit your coconut oil in the sink because it will clog your sink.

    Since I have access to diamond powder, I make my own dental paste by merely mixing diamond with toothpaste. Of course, you should use no bigger than 3um and polycrystalline is best, but metal or resin bond is OK. Just use a very light touch and let the diamond do the work. Scrubbing will destroy the enamel. However, to rid yourself of plaque, it's hard to beat. Also gets rid of stains. My preference is 1um poly mixed, 2 grams in 20 grams of toothpaste. Finally, only use it once every 3-5 days. It will be just like going to the dentist for a cleaning.

    Coming from my professional experience as a registered dental hygienist: the photo shown is not that of plaque, but of calculus, also known as tartar. It also exhibits staining. Simply brushing with toothpaste twice a day and flossing once a night and rinsing with an antimicrobial rinse like Listerine PREVENTS plaque build up, a soft accumulation of bateria that is easily removed by the steps I just stated. Calculus is hard and cannot be removed like this video states. It required professional hygiene expertise, which is what I provide for my patients on a weekly basis. This video is very offensive to the dental community. Bright Side, please "brush up" on your dental knowledge for future videos, and remember, no one needs to do all of this work to remove plaque as I have correctly identified. The methods you are presenting is false in pertaining to calculus removal. Please leave that part to us professionals.

      Also: anyone reading, please do NOT brush with baking soda! It is a very abrasive material that will rub the enamel off of your teeth after prolonged use. Enamel does not regenerate itself and grow back.

    Just use a dental pick that you can pick up at cheap auto supply, hobby shop, or tool store and a small dental mirror. Clean the calcium off the back of your teeth once or twice a week using the stainless steel pick. Brushing 4Xs a day works very well too as brushing gets rid of the acids that causes tooth decay and gets rid of the acid that is the root of bad breath.
