  • Femke Bol DROPS THE HAMMER On Sydney With INSANE RECORD
    Sport is not a beauty contest and athletic excellence is not always easy on the eye. Earlier this month, Dutch sensation Femke Bol was set to compete in a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger meet before heading to the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, with this upcoming Olympics, we have many of the greatest 400m hurdles runners in the world including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Dalilah Muhammed, and Rushell Clayton.
    Moving into the Olympic games, Femke Bol has already run the 400m hurdles three times in 2024, with her season-best time of 52.49 seconds recorded at the European Athletics Championships, where she won the gold medal. But it's quite insane how she found herself in this position.

    Bol changed her strides pattern, which takes a lot of work, a lot of practice. 400 hurdles takes a lot more planning than a regular race. Planning a certain number of strides in the first sets of hurdles, then switching to one step less towards the end as one gets too fatigued to maintain the same number of strides.
    For starters, she had to change her lead leg. At 14 there's no alternating, at 15 you alternate which leg goes over first.

    • @lasvegas4164
      @lasvegas4164 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I get your point, but it’s just a little off. 14 steps you are alternating and 15 steps it’s the same leg. Also there’s no need to change your lead leg. You develop the ability to use both legs and for her, after # 6 she using her normal lead leg for the rest of the race.

      @@lasvegas4164 the comments about needing time to get used to changing step patterns come from 400 hh athletes, including a recent interview of Femke Bol herself.
      Yeah, even steps means same leg over, however Bol isn't doing 14 over every hurdle.

    • @garykelder
      @garykelder 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      14 steps = alternating lead legs. 13 or 15 steps equals same lead leg. It is okay to lead with the right leg on straightaway but you should lead with the left leg on the curves for shortest distance.

    What a time to be watching athletics and anticipating the Olympic Games in Paris.
    I can't wait for this women's 400m H final, I fully expect the world record to be broken again and even for 50 seconds to be broken (49.9x).
    My reasons for such optimism is that these 2 incredible women will push each other in the final to run faster than they could ever imagine.
    Femke Bol will run faster than the current world record by finishing around 50.2 - 50.3, but Sydney McLaughlin Levrone will break the 50 seconds barrier👍🏾

One has never been overwhelmed in her life and holds the world record and all victories head to head. The other is also a great runner but has shown weakness as when Holmes walked her down in the 4x4 and she fell on her face missing all color medals for her teammates. This is the truth. Sydney an Femke could run in a men’s race.
    Sydney Mc Laughlin and Femke Bol wouldn't be often last in a men's final. The male runners in front of them would pull them sub 50,00 seconds. Sydney and Femke of course with female hurdles. Men's hurdles wouldn't be fair because of the smaller body height.
    On the other side with special training and focussing both could beat the very old world record of Marita Koch over 400 m flat from 1985 (47,60). Sydney's record is already 48,75 sec. Sha'Carri is nowhere near the past sprint superstars, as they were fantastic at 100 and 200. Richardson didn't even qualify for the 200 this year. She's currently in a three way tie for 5th all time in the 100.
      Bol's rise to fame has been steep, her progression has been far faster than Mclaughlin's. Look at the glazing over Mclaughlin's breaking of her own world records, and the relative silence over Bol setting a new record in the indoor 400, and breaking it. It's easy to find comments poopooing Bol's accomplishments for the past several months. It's easy to find "Bol's nowhere near Sydney", or "Sidney is on another planet compared to Bol."
