    I'm a couple of years late to the game here, but this is by far the EASIEST vinyl pouch tutorial on TH-cam, and is my favorite thing to make to accompany the bigger project bags I make for my cross stitching! Thank you for such an easy, inspirational tutorial!!!

    Brilliant! I have a carload of 7" zippers left over from the old days, when I used to make my skirts and trousers for work, and have a large stock of cute scraps I just cannot consider trashing. These will make great stocking-stuffer gifts for friends and family this year. Thanks for yet another great idea and easy-to-follow instructions.

    Hi Andrea, I have been making some stationery to sell and didn’t want to put them in single use plastic. I watched this post this morning and bought the vinyl this afternoon. I’m going to make some tonight as they will be perfect to display my items in. Thank you 🙏 very much

    Using a hairdryer to soften the vinyl also helps to get it turned right side out easier

      You can also heat up your ironing board with your iron. Then lay the vinyl on top. The residual heat from the ironing board will soften the vinyl and make it more pliable to work with.

    Hey Andrea - Awesome Bag!!! I can think of so many uses for these in different sizes. I got some vinyl awhile back and it is so fun to sew with. I used my Teflon foot but I need to try it with my walking foot. Have never put it on my machine since it looks a bit hard but I need to just do it! Lol
    Happy Week sweet friend. Will be adding these to my “Things to Sew” list. ✂️❌⭕️ Pam 🌸🦋🌸

    Great tutorial! Thanks sew much for sharing. I'm wondering if you have any tips on cutting the larger pieces of vinyl into the smaller pieces to make those adorable bags. Happy sewing!

    • @Sewspire
      @Sewspire  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rotary cutter and clear ruler is the best way to cut vinyl in my opinion.

    Hi Andrea. Andrea here who thanks you SOOOOO much for a VERY clear and concise tutorial for sewing a vinyl pouch with fabric attached to it. I made one with the fabric at the base and while it was a good tut, some things weren’t as evident or explained as well.
    I’m a newbie to sewing (just started during the pandemic to make masks) and just started using my walking foot.
    Quick question; You said you use your walking foot “all the time”? Does that mean you use it even with thinner pieces of fabric or when a regular presser foot is typically used? Is it okay to do that? I was planning on reattaching my regular foot to sew a normal fabric zipper pouch and I already do not like putting the walking foot non my machine because it requires me to mess around with that itty bitty screw that I can barely see!! Thanks in advance!

    • @Sewspire
      @Sewspire  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I used it for everything including zippers for about a year. When I started sewing garments I had to take it off. I do miss it!

    What guage vinyl is the best to use? Is 4 guage too thin?

  • @chrissyoldfield8566
    @chrissyoldfield8566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sweet! A lady at JoAnn fabric wanted to know what “gauge” vinyl I wanted? 😳🤷‍♀️

    • @Sewspire
      @Sewspire  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, everyone keeps asking me the same thing and the vinyl at Walmart doesn't list a gauge. Let me know if you figure that out. I feel like someone here once suggested 8 gauge...does that sound right?
