This is a highly requested video, that I finally made for you guys:). So I've been dying my hair since like high school, and I've always used Dark & Lovely to do it. I never had any problem with the dye taking to my hair like some people idk why lol. These are definitely my staple hair dye products.
Also I forgot to mention in this video that I dye my edges last to avoid getting the super light edges look.

Hello! What if I already colored my hair honey blond using the same Dark and Lovely hair dye but I couldn’t find the Revlon highlighting kit, can I still add the highlights later and it will turn out fine? I’m waiting 14 days before I add the highlights

Same here. I'm going on a journey to this color but my hair is black so my roots won't lift without bleach. I'm halfway there. Gotta go super slow to maintain hair health.

Yess plz wear gloves😩I died my hair red without gloves and had a bad chemical reaction on my nail bed and fingers

If you are putting the dye on the full length of your hair, do recommend putting the highlight dye on top of it or highlighting once the previous dye is washed out?
I'm not a licensed cosmetologist but I would probably dye it and then go back and highlight

Cloe Kamp I use color safe shampoos and I alternate between two at the moment. I use deep conditioners once a week or whenever I’m washing my hair

I would say do it at different times. maybe do a few test strands

No I didn't bleach just used the box dye and then washed

LavishlyA I think my hair being dyed already helped the color show more but I am using box dye. You could probably get the same results from a salon 💕
I did the same thing once when I was coloring my hair I took my gloves off. Big mistake. My finger tips felt like they were on fire, I just knew my nails were going to come off, they actually hurt for a few days after

Hey love your videos and your hair! Tempting me to dye my hair back to this color girl! Has dying your hair lighter caused your ends to straighten? I see your curls still look intact, anything your do to prevent them from getting damaged? Plus, other than your purple shampoo do you use or used any toner for your hair?
Hannalyn thanks ❤️ My curls, since I don’t dye my hair that often and I deep condition every week, they don’t have any chemical damage. & my shimmer lights is the only toner I use and it’s pretty good . Hope this helped😊

Tammy Mitchell it works as a toner & helps maintain the color. You can just use a color safe shampoo

It works for me . I went from dying my hair black to going to this color. It definitely takes to my hair very well but could be different for you. If you try it lmk how it turns out k?

Second, will dark and lovely work with dark black/brown hair? lol (my very isn't fully black, but still black)
Should I do ends first? and cover with aluminum? I kinda want an ombre look but i think the highlights will work fine. Also any experience with the go intense box dark and lovely has?
I know they're a lot of questions. Last one..should I try them on shed hair first? I feel like shed hair wouldn't be a true representation but idk. I died my hair before with shea moisture and my ends seemed to take on fine.
Natures Intent thanks first off lol and geesh lots of questions lol *disclaimer* I am not a professional I just know what works with my hair. In my case I’ve been using the dark and lovely brand since forever and it takes to my hair but not always to everyone else’s , you might have to dye it more than once to see color and I believe it has some bleach in it not a lot but the highlighting box definitely contains a lot of bleach as you see in the video.
Natures Intent if you want the ombré look I think the box I used to highlight might work better and I don’t use aluminum. And I’ve never tried the go intense. Hope this helps 😊

I've always used Dark and Lovely to color my hair as well......but I've never used the Frost and Glow by Revlon. I just watched the video of you transitioning up until now and it looks like you always colored your hair for the most part. How long have you been using the Frost and Glow in addition to the Dark and Lovely????planning on coloring tonight and wondering is my hair gonna burn out where I apply the Frost lol.
secilee powell #teamdark&lovely lol but I’ve been using the frost and glow for about I want to say 4 years . But try test out a strip of hair and see how long for the color you want to get. ❤️
Yes..I never use it..I live in South Florida the sun lightens my ends naturally...

Weekly Alexis I believe I just took out my locs and then dyed it. And it varies like this always works for my hair but doesn’t work for my sisters. You probably should do a test strand

I’m a bit confused. Did you put the dark and lovely only on your roots? You never showed yourself putting it from room to tip- only on the roots at the front.

Katorica Benton you just can’t leave it in there for long . And yes there was bleach or developer in the products I used. I understand you being scared though. That’s why I rather do it myself lol that way if it gets messed up I can blame myself lol and plus I only trust one person other than myself to do my hair and they moved so 🤷🏾♀️
