Queen Pana. I am a 61 year old woman who has been wearing braids for about a year. I recently got tired if paying for braids by braiders who charge crazy money and don't give me what I requested. I don't mind paying. But I don't want to pay for a dirty shop, rudeness, pain that lasts for a week or more and a style that I did not ask for. I started watching videos in an attempt to learn how to do my own hair. Since watching your videos I have learned how to do my own hair. I now know that products that work for one may not work for another. Girl keep posting you are worth every bit if coin you get. The last two times I did my own hair I got so many compliments. I owe it to you.

I didn't do that at all. My dark brown hair was ginger *all* over. There was no damage and the result was quite long-lasting. I let my hair grow and finally cut the color off. You really don't need to pay a salon and run the risk of not getting what you want as is the case so often..
ooo this looks so cool!!! The color is beautiful. I found you from your long box braids video and I’m so happy you know your worth and are charging what you are worth! Rooting for you!
The color service I want was almost $400 and booked out til January…. I’ll definitely be trying myself and if I fuck it up then I’ll be cutting all my hair off again lol 🤷🏾♀️
Right like I wanna dye my hair but I'm not trying to pay crazy money. I bleached my hair like 6 years ago and fucked it up so bad but I learned from that. I think it's time I try again lol. I'm going through a breakup and just ready to change my whole appearance
Hey Pana. I rarely comment but I've been watching you since almost day one and to see your growth has been amazing. You never fail to put out excellent content. I'm so proud of your accomplishments. Keep hustling sis! 💜
I do a several weeks process. All that to say you can lift the color without bleach, it just takes longer. So I dye it, and then after 2-3 weeks do it again and so on. Never had damage from it.
Aww :( you didn't give here highlights towards the front to frame her face. I guess she could see them hold a mirror behind her I guess. The back is gorgeous
Dang Panda really knows shit about hair like ur so dang talented ur amazing at braiding Quick weave and more baby girl I don’t care wht they say she is talented at hair ur on a different level baby girl we just got into the year and ur already stepping ur cookies up got a husband and everything we see u
I used to use box dye for years, they always lifted my hair to red or blonde easily ...but I'm not convinced those dyes don't have bleach in the powder. I stopped using box dyes years ago, and found that my hair lifts easily with developer and color sold for stylist, but my daughter's hair doesn't...so it really depends on the person's hair type/texture. I have also found that doing bleach wash is a good soft way to lift hair color.
I did mine from black to the light color in the pics she asked for but I used clairol box permanent color... I’ve been to school and licensed though lol I seen videos with the cream of nature and didn’t trust it since my hair is really thick
I've dyed my thick, long hair once with box color without any problems. It also lasted *forever* and people I know do it all the time, too. I don't get why folks knock it...
Hi Pana. Thanks for sharing. You did a great job. I have just one question. After you washed out the dye for day one, did you condition her hair? I'm just curious.
I used to lighten my hair with peroxide and honey i believe. Maybe some lemon? It worked though but was itchy if it dried on your skin. I covered it in foil and perfect blonde hair 😂😂
Maybe because her hair is very dark naturally it was nit changing without bkeach. I have a briwn cilour like , light brown and medium brown. Do you think my hair could lift without bleach?
So I really want purple hair.. would the developer technique work to lift my black hair enough for a deep purple to take hold? I’ve tried to just add a purple rinse before because I really don’t wanna bleach my natural hair but it has never worked
Splat has a line for brunettes that requires no bleaching, and the color stays for 30 washes. Could you do a light bleach session? Like 10 volume developer?
you an always try putting on a clear coat, adore has a clear coating, or try pm shines by Paul Mitchell it is a Demi permanent and it should add a little shine to your hair.
Omg! I literally want to fly an hour out to you to get my hair done just like this 😩 You scared me with the doing it at home because that definitely was my plan. Beautiful work!🤎
Her original hair was not a fresh wash n go. that’s going to look very different than a wash n go that was worn for days which is why her hair appears thicker in the beginning .
The client probably got those boxes from the drugstore after seeing some Diy vids. Hicolor is sold at Sally's and needs a 30 or 40 vol developer to lift, which can seem scary to someone who's not really educated on hair coloring.
Im not someone who does color on a regular so yes. this was experimental but thats how we learn right! I wouldnt offer this service to a real client until I was 100% confident but I do love sharing my process until I get there.
But sis… why would you go all the way to the end and not show us how you accomplished the highlights. You didn’t show us what you did?!?.. the entire video you mentioned you may have to bleach it, but did not show us you bleaching it. 😂

if you add 30vol developer to the box dye it’ll make the blonde lighter. w/o bleach. that’s just what i did on my natural hair so i could dye it.

Some of those creme of nature blonde kits actually do come with a bleach powder packette since the color alone doesn't lift much.

Love the video , but what colors did you use to achieve this look ?

I love my honey blond but the damage is why I stopped coloring and opted for colored braids.
Her color came out really pretty! Love it!
Her hair looks amazing, love her beautiful curls😍

DAP did it again! I wish you were my hair dresser. You go in and handle the heads baby. Thanks for sharing your talents and humor with us. ❤
Love the honesty and outcome!
Loved it, this is exactly what i want. It looked so natural
I need to see this video, because this is exactly what I want to do. So, is there bleach or not?
How did your client achieve that curl pattern? What products / methods?
Ilyyy Pana ❤️❤️

Quick question, what would be the best hairstyle to do for vacation? Like if you don’t want the hairstyle to lay you down while in the water?😁👍
I would def say traditional or knotless box braids.
What specific colors did you use for the highlights
Maybe because her hair is very dark naturally it was nit changing without bkeach. I have a briwn cilour like , light brown and medium brown. Do you think my hair could lift without bleach?
Yes video. I’m up doing coursework so this is a good time to break 😆

That box color hurt my heart a little bit lol but the results were beautiful
Hi can I use this method on curly bundles 😊
you think this would work on honey blind natural hair??
I’ve tried that box dye also... and it was a fail 😅
