    Great video! This is the top tutorial for installing this winch on YT (only improvement could be the audio as it was difficult to hear you at times-consider a wearable mic and you'd be gold). Thanks for extensive demonstration!

    Hey great video just bought the same one going to do the install in the next few days. Did you end up installing your Killswitch?

    Do you think adding locktite to the mounting bolts is a good idea?

  • @papagrouch8416
    @papagrouch8416 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Am installing this winch on my JKU and saw the torque mounting spec for the mounting bolts to be 30-33 ft lbs. Thought it was a typo! but I see you (and others) using that spec. That seems like an awful light torque for mounting a 12K lb winch...have you or anyone here had any issue with that, being too light? Thanks...and good video!

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought so too but it seems to be holding just fine and not moving!

    What AMP is the battery disconnect switch? 275A or 600A. Great video!

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not positive, but I believe it's the 275A switch. I can double check for you soon! I ended up not running it. Glad you liked it!

    I see this video had been posted a year ago have you had any problems with the electrical system after installing the winch..I have had my apex winch on my Jeep for about 6-8 months and all of a sudden I started having electrical issues.

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had absolutely no issues and this thing has been fully submerged, trail dusted and and keeps on pulling! What issues have you had? I would double check all connections including the ones within the control box itself!

    I wonder how hard it will be to install my KC Hilights with the winch already installed? I'm wanting my lights installed on the bumper and not on top of the 3" tubing

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was able to pull it off , it's doable! But it's also not bad to loosen the winch up and make some room without disconnecting everything! Should be good!

    Did you use the auxiliary switch wiring for this, or just go direct to the battery?

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Direct to the battery without issues. It does come with a disconnect switch you could use so it's not always connected ,.you would just have to remember to turn it on before you get into a jam!

      Why go direct to the battery and not to the Aux switch? Is there and added benefit going to the battery? I’m installing one today and was debating which to wire up to, battery or Aux.

    • @Overlanderoos
      @Overlanderoos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! A couple reasons, the biggest is the Aux Switch set up may induce noise or interference affecting transmitting and receiving. The second and less important reason is, I know what I have to install in the near future and I didn't want to sacrifice a Aux switch for the radio.
      9 times out of 10, poor radio performance can be traced back to a bad electrical connection of some sort!
