Yeah, I realize that Doug doesn't want to only do this format for the NC but I really loved it. This is what made me such a big fan of Doug's. He didn't need tons of gimmicks, props, skits, and actors to make us laugh and care about what he had to say. All he needed was good commentary. And when he did do something different, it was really interesting. I can see where he'd get bored with this format but it's what worked best for the NC. It's what got him where he is today.

Crazy that Mako is so beloved that, once upon a time, Nostalgia Critic got hate comments for a throwaway joke about his voice as Splinter. Nowadays, Critic is a HUGE Avatar fan. Times really do change.
viKing1428 Well Doug is kinda tired of doing that format all the time. I think it would be great if Hollywood would make movies like this again. NOT remake them *cough cough* like that horrible 2011 Conan *vomits*. I know that won't happen, just wish it would. There are TV series like Legend of the Seeker (based on Terry Goodkind) and Shannara Chronicles (based on Terry Brooks). Seeker isn't a bad show kinda fits the books. Shannara has just horrible design. Everyone knows Game of Thrones, never watched it myself. What I would love to see are some Druss movies based on David Gemmell's books. This film is a guilty pleasure for me as the acting is so unintentionally hilarious all through, but thank you so much for including two of my favourite moments of this with the magnificently stilted "Ged-ddren.....?......Queen....Ged-de-ren....?" at 10:41 ("...I'm......acting..." LOL!) and that incredible bit of facial gurning she does near the end at 18:41 ("Gedren! Where ARE YOU!!"" ). Definitely a film that's so bad it's good! ;-)
i remember watching this thing as a kid. and considering the kid quite the most annoying part of this(btw german syncro is quite good and erases the whole weird dialect thing). Most times producers put kid characters into movies , so kids have someone to identify( what is interesting about a fillm were heads are cut off), but the watching children, dont want to indentify with those...they want to be Arnold or other adult characters.
I'll be honest. I don't usually look up voice actors so I didn't know who Mako was but the second I heard the voice, my mind immediately went "Uncle Iroh!"
Apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger went on record saying that RED SONYA was the worst film he ever made in his entire career (I guess he needed to shift the blame off BATMAN & ROBIN), and every time his own kids misbehaved, he would punish them by forcing them to watch this film. I can't say I blame him - I don't know which is worse, either this or KULL THE CONQUEROR from 1997, which I saw when I just turned 12. Fortunately neither one of these was my introduction to Robert E. Howard - it turned out that in my pre-to-early-teens I actually saw episodes of the spin-off animated series of CONAN THE BARBARIAN before seeing the actual 1982 film of CONAN THE BARBARIAN (much as I was introduced to GHOSTBUSTERS by watching the spin-off animated series before seeing the actual 1984 film), and that series had some really good moments. In fact, it really disappoints me (and my mother) so much that no film out there based or inspired by Howard's work could ever equal, let alone top, 1982's CONAN THE BARBARIAN, which is still one of my Top 💯 Favorite Films of All Time! The less said about the shitty 2011 remake with future Aquaman Jason Mamoa, the better.
He was originally just supposed to do what amounted to a cameo instead of a co-starring role. But the filmmakers essentially, tricked Arnold (they did this by using multiple cameras for instance) so what was supposed to be a single week on set turned out to be over four weeks.
One funny thing to point out in the ending fight scene with the evil queen...was when Red Sonja said “Your a Man...the Talisman will destroy you”! SO WAIT...the all powerful Talisman was fooled by a man who had a sex-change?!! 🤣🤣🤣

At 6:17 in the Sonic fan film you'll clearly see him.
I'm an ass who wants to embarass Doug.
And if Rob was in it, I must have missed him. Sorry big guy.
2:50 actually your not to far off as I just found out that it’s actually implied that the queen wanted her as her lover. That wouldn’t fly today
Red Sonja is an unofficial Conan sequel
"I don't know Mako"
And then he watched ATLA.
Definitely a film that's so bad it's good! ;-)
12:03 DAMN CENSORS!!!!
My memories before knowing this film existed was it was part of conan. When I watched conan I was like scenes are missing.
i remember watching this thing as a kid. and considering the kid quite the most annoying part of this(btw german syncro is quite good and erases the whole weird dialect thing).
Yeah I wonder if Katherine and Patrick Schwartznegger still remember that punishment of being forced to watched those films.
He was originally just supposed to do what amounted to a cameo instead of a co-starring role. But the filmmakers essentially, tricked Arnold (they did this by using multiple cameras for instance) so what was supposed to be a single week on set turned out to be over four weeks.
I lost it when Arnold said "she's dead". That just was not the line I was expecting.
One funny thing to point out in the ending fight scene with the evil queen...was when Red Sonja said “Your a Man...the Talisman will destroy you”! SO WAIT...the all powerful Talisman was fooled by a man who had a sex-change?!! 🤣🤣🤣
I thought she said, "You're mad." But then again what a wrinkle in the plot.
Do you know what are repressed memories? Whenever something so terrible happens that your mind in shock pretends to forget that the event happened in the first place
