Such a fun video to watch! I love how you let them eat the jerk bait. Haven't targeted flounder like you do. Usually they are a bycatch while I am speck or red fishing. I wonder how many flounder I have missed by snatching too soon when they pick the bait up. I love your content!
I used to do the same until about 2 years ago. I’m sure we’ve missed more than we’d like to think about! Now when I’m specifically targeting flounders I’m not afraid to let em have it for up to 10 seconds. Very rarely will they spit it. Thanks!
Have you ever fished put of saint marks fl? There is shell island fish camp there . Its pretty cool place. Lots of good trout and red fishing and good place for trolling for gag grouper
Its alot of fun. The shell island fish camp there has there own motel/rooms. Its nothing fancy but clean. 80$ a night and you can keep your boat docked for just 10$ they have everything you need including live shrimp . Look them up. Its small town but really good fishing.
I've got some "Pork-o" baits from my Bass Fishing days that I've been saying I was gonna try "Someday". I think they'll be with me the next time I go out, LOL!
If you don’t know how to flounder fish, just watch the rod tip. It’s almost like your hung. Great job man on the description of everything. Love this channel.
@@CaptCollier I’ve got to figure out flounder migration in this area. It’s not TOTALLY different than it was in the Pontchartrain basin…. But it’s definitely a new fishery with new nuances. I’m learning
Hey capt. Dude the channel rocks man. A couple months ago when I came across it I thought you would have way more followers because of how good the vids are. Your on your way for sure. Quick question. How do you decide when to throw the jerk shad over the normal paddle tail. I always get stuck in the middle of what to do. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I appreciate the kind words. The channel is growing slowly but surely so no complaints from me. As to your question, I’m not much of a paddle tail guy. I rarely throw them. I feel more confident throwing the jerk shadz for flounder. Every now and then they do hone in on smaller profile lures, especially if there are a lot of finger mullet or small pogies in the area your fishing and I’ll throw one. Hope this helps
Thought so. Snapper season still open in Louisiana. 4 per man, 7 days a week. We’re hammering them. Do you regret not getting the 25 SeaHunt, to the Blackjack? I’m still thinking of upgrading my 33 SeaHunt to the 25
Great, I might be down there as well. You should fish lake Pontchartrain on your way home. Lots going on right now as far as trout bite. I’d love to buy you a beer in Venice, or show you some things about Lake P area on your way home. Great videos!!!
100 thumbs up man!!! Tight lines never stop here in Texas!!!
Thanks!
Good job Capt, I knew you could do it! You are definitely dialing in that flounder bite!
Thanks Capt, I was second guessing myself there for an hour or so 😂

I have not. Don’t think I’ve fished any further east than Navarre

Good stuff cap. Respect from Readyville Tn! Be safe out there! God Bless y'all !
What a hoot! Fun time. Thanks sir.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love it! Great video and at least you can fry up the left over bait!
You got that right!
That one that took off made me have flash backs from the rodeo lol 😂
You can also use rubber bands for kids braces. Tiny ones and are strong.
@@TheArgpower great tip!
Thanks for the tip my daughter has a crap ton of those small.bands
Those Southern Flounder are beauties!
Definitely. The colors they have are amazing

Haha definitely wouldn’t hurt to try. They don’t seem to be too picky if you’re in em thick!
Many years ago we always used a white grub with red tail and a little strip of cut bait
Nice. Did you feel like the cut bait helped getting more bites?
@@CaptCollier I think it did as long as the croakers and catfish aren't bad
This is such an epic video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video!! I wanna try bacon offshore next time lol. Btw . Whats the draft on your new boat. My sportsman is 12 inches. Thats a nice boat you have!!
Oh I know them fish would wreck some bacon offshore lol and it’s around 15” I believe. Plenty enough for me, I appreciate it!

Yep. Half the time I’m confident it’s a hang but I’ll give it a few seconds to try and feel that second “thump”… game over after that. 🤙🏻
Same as uncle Josh pork rinds we used for bass! Try some fat back, little thicker than bacon
Good content! Thanx!
Glad you liked it!
Nice video as usual Capt
Appreciate that
We all love Bacon !!!!! GREAT JOB
Bacon infused flounder! Yummy, cool video.

How dare you tell everyone my secret bait omg bro 🤣😂
My bad, I’ll use gummy worms next time!
That first little flounder has to be an inch longer after you set the hook
😂
Get some apple wood lol... hmm conecuh ?

#LetsGoBrandon
What did ya expect...no eggs with the bacon🤦♀..Hey Stu...
WORMS FOR BAIT 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Might have to try that
Who doesn't love bacon !!!! Now we know fish do too.
That’s right!
Gummy worm flounder fishing ? 😮
We could give that a try!
Come on up a lil jaunt and come catch some salmon with me on the coastal rivers👍❤️. What say you son👍
that flounders gonna be bacon flavored when you eat it bro.
Man, those flounder are not Moooslim! Curious, what net are you using? I'm due for a new net.
Haha I go through a lot of nets too unfortunately, the one in this video is a frabell net from academy

At this point I’m thinking bacon wrapped flounder….
Or croaker….
Haha that’s be good
Have been using bacon for years.
Awesome
Bacon is supposed to be used for snapper man 🤣
Bacon too expensive for snapper I prefer hotdogs haha
Thanks for the entertainment. Would love to be there instead of working...
Anytime. And I know the feeling!
Bacon for flounder. Good trade.
Absolutely. Still had half a pack left afterwards too 😀
@@CaptCollier Wrap one of those bad boys with bacon, toss it on the grill and enjoy.
How dare you....
Chill, Greta. Chill.
😂 was for a good cause
Hahahaha…Mr. Potato head, you’re funny! 😂
