Tossing BACON Strips Around Docks To Catch Flounder!?

- Is it possible to catch flounder on bacon? In this video I target some jetties and piers bouncing Zman Soft plastics and strips of bacon for Flounder specifically. I start by throwing a 5" Zman Jerk bait to locate some fish and after I catch a few I swap over to trying bacon strips and was thoroughly impressed at the results!

Such a fun video to watch! I love how you let them eat the jerk bait. Haven't targeted flounder like you do. Usually they are a bycatch while I am speck or red fishing. I wonder how many flounder I have missed by snatching too soon when they pick the bait up. I love your content!
I used to do the same until about 2 years ago. I’m sure we’ve missed more than we’d like to think about! Now when I’m specifically targeting flounders I’m not afraid to let em have it for up to 10 seconds. Very rarely will they spit it. Thanks!

I've got some "Pork-o" baits from my Bass Fishing days that I've been saying I was gonna try "Someday". I think they'll be with me the next time I go out, LOL!

Have you ever fished put of saint marks fl? There is shell island fish camp there . Its pretty cool place. Lots of good trout and red fishing and good place for trolling for gag grouper
I have not. Don’t think I’ve fished any further east than Navarre
Its alot of fun. The shell island fish camp there has there own motel/rooms. Its nothing fancy but clean. 80$ a night and you can keep your boat docked for just 10$ they have everything you need including live shrimp . Look them up. Its small town but really good fishing.

Hey capt. Dude the channel rocks man. A couple months ago when I came across it I thought you would have way more followers because of how good the vids are. Your on your way for sure. Quick question. How do you decide when to throw the jerk shad over the normal paddle tail. I always get stuck in the middle of what to do. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I appreciate the kind words. The channel is growing slowly but surely so no complaints from me. As to your question, I’m not much of a paddle tail guy. I rarely throw them. I feel more confident throwing the jerk shadz for flounder. Every now and then they do hone in on smaller profile lures, especially if there are a lot of finger mullet or small pogies in the area your fishing and I’ll throw one. Hope this helps

@@CaptCollier I’ve got to figure out flounder migration in this area. It’s not TOTALLY different than it was in the Pontchartrain basin…. But it’s definitely a new fishery with new nuances. I’m learning
