At what point or on what type of trails would you say that the Ripmo begins to outperform the Ripley? I Currently ride a Ripmo and I am intrigued by how poppy and playful everyone describes the Ripley as being. However, I'm worried that on higher speed descents with hard hits, I would be wishing for the extra travel of my Ripmo.
How do they keep the teeth so close to the rear triangle! :) This is on my next bike list - looking for something that climbs, is light, and can do some XC races on (for old fat guys).
You mention putting a 140mm fork on that baby, but what about going the other way? I'm kind of interested in putting a 120mm step cast fork on and making a sweet downcountry rig. Any thoughts on that?
Another great review! I really need your help and I believe you are the only guys that can because you reviewed the Commencal Meta TR. I am looking for my next bike and keep coming back to this: www.commencalusa.com/meta-trail-29-essential-fox-brushed-2019-c2x26749842 How does this compare to the new Ripley. I just can't ignore this Commencal build and price $3,299. Fox 36, Full GX, SLX brakes...that brushed alloy!!! Would the Commencal make a good "all around" trail bike compared to the new "entry level (NX build) Ripley for $800 more???
Sweet review, love it dude.
My Ripley arrived today 😁Happy days!!
I think you meant upper 20's not 30's regarding weight but a very nice bike, looking at them now and also the SB 115 T-2
Awesome review man. This bike look rad and looks like it can take on a lot.
I’ve been waiting for 2 months now for my ripley

I have a Ripley 4 and was wondering if a DVO Topaz would fit as a rear shock?
Ibis bikes are beautiful. I'm not sure i could ride if i owned one.
Ibis demo's in Bend today.. ..I'm stuck at work in Eugene ;(
Work always gets in the way...

That's certainly an option and based on your riding style, demands and terrain it will make for one pinner XC rig!
Hi, nice bike!! the weight is with carbon or aluminium wheels?

What is the weight please ? I tried to understand with your accent 😁 i am french
Is rear shock upgradeable?
